Hello everybody and welcome to plug in for player 4. My name is Mark. I thought you're going out like Hello everybody. My name is Mark. Hello everybody, my name is Mark, not Markiplier, no Mark. 15 seconds. Yeah, I know. That's all it took for it to get Dupree. We. Sucked it. We suck at this shit. No it's fine, I just thought he was going to do it anyway. Go go on, go on. Do your outro intro intro this. Is the intro not the outro? Not be quiet. OK. Anyways, welcome to plug in for player four. I am Mark and I'm here with Ethan and Brandon.
Fuck you. Wow, I didn't. Even know how to respond to that. Yeah, no, I was about to. I was about to ask you your Christmas wine. God, it wasn't. Even geared towards me. Yeah. Geared towards anybody. Well anyways, how did you guys Christmases go? It was pretty good. Yeah, it sounds pretty good for me too. I got a got a giant heater right here, Brandon. Brandon seen it. It's pretty big. He's also felt it too. It's pretty warm.
You know, maybe the fuck you need to be director somewhere. Did it or did it not have the protective covering?
Why are you putting anything into this conversation? Look at this, if you're going to be feeling heat or you, I mean wanted to be protected. I when I took it out, it didn't have a start protective like Styrofoam like that. It got kind of protection like around it or? Yeah, yeah. OK. Yeah, yeah, it's also remote controlled. Well, did it have sort of like a rubber plastic covering over it to? No. Well, anyways, we're into the new year now. Look at that. Going from 2025 to 2026 feels like the half year that we've been doing this has kind of flown by.
I mean, you're, you're not wrong. It's been half a year and that's kind of insane. Yeah, we started this in wet. June. Yeah, Yeah. I think it was early June. Yeah, early June. It's going to be a year in June next year. That's crazy. Yeah, I know. Dude, the whole it's 52 episodes, Yeah, yeah. Crap. Right. Yeah. We got to think of something to do for that day. I really do. We'll discuss it in post. Yeah, we'll discuss it in post, guys. You'll hear it. You're all about in post, yeah? Just all of our plans, our secret plans, our operations and shit.
Anyways, I think now's a good time to talk about how Ethan and I finished our year game. Oh my God, yeah, no. So granted, we've been playing this for more than a year, but at the end of last year, we were like, hey, Mark, we're, we're going to beat this by the end of the year next year.
And it took us like 6 months to play just once, yeah. But you guys finished it though. We did. Yeah, it was. Pretty cool. Yeah. To catch everybody up, we were. We got Wizard with a gun in 2024 and we never got a chance to actually play it in 2024. And then 2025 rolls around and we're like, OK, we're going to we're going to beat this by the end of the year. We're going to get through our play through and we're we're going to beat it. Mind you, we were playing the hardest difficulty too. Yeah, we're playing on Outlaw.
So no wonder dude, let me tell you, you should have seen our fight with the final boss. It was horrible. It it went bad to start off with and then we just locked in. Yeah, 'cause I, I had AI had a weapon called the Hammer of Soul and like it's, it's a cannon and just the only cannons are only guns with an arc to them. There's very few cannons in the game. But like I put a lightning strike bullet, I'm like, let's see, let's see how much damage this does. Like the lightning strike bullet on my sniper I think did like 500 or something base damage.
Yeah, the Hammer of Soul and like 1100 damage on. It mind you his lightning strike bullets already had a cool down. Yes, on the Sniper, they were a very long cool down. On the Hammer of Soul, it was like an eighth, the cooldown of the Sniper. Yeah, it was. Really. Fast. So not only was he able to throw more damage, it just it was doing more damage overall because he could do it faster. The problem is once you pick a spot, because it's a mortar, it goes towards that spot whether any enemy moves or not.
The final boss doesn't move, so it's just stationary. Yeah, it's right for the picky. Yeah, it's really. Mortar bombardment.
So like Mark wait, we need to get you 1.
Our first attempt after I got one, we got down to like 1/4 half left and we're like oh wow. Well. It it was, it was like 1/4 health down left to go in like a third of the time that it took us the first couple of tubs. Yeah, but let let's go back to the beginning. Like let's let's start. So there, there's 4 main, right? But yeah, there's four riders which are like the bosses of the game and you have to go like you start off in the uperium and you have to go around and collect gears. There's small gears and big gears.
Big gears will expand the area, and small gears are just kind of like side objectives. So I expand the area. Next time you remake the world, 'cause you got like what, 3 1/2 minutes? Yeah, 3 1/2 minutes. Each time you go into the world before it starts to just self destruct, you can get more time. But anyway, so eventually you get to the final gear of that area and that's a rider.
So you know, good that you go through that. You get to the fell, which I think that's where we left off on was in the fell because we played a little bit, you know, last year, whatever. And then we left off at the fell, which is. Everything's poisoned. It's a poison swamp. Yes, if you even step one pinky toe into that poison swamp you're getting poisoned and it sucks and everything there is aggressive as shit or just poisons you outright. It's like we we were struggling to get through the foul. We were struggling, starting to just get into it.
Yeah. And when when it came time for like the cause, like there's some enemies you have to take out where it's just like, oh, here's here's the big frog, but it's surrounded by like 30 other tinier frogs trying to get that gear. Yeah, they all spit poison trying to get that gear sucked it. Was so bad.
And then we, we've made eventually made it to the frozen waste or whatever it's called. Yeah, frozen waste where we get the hammer of soul. We killed, you know, we, we got to the area, got all the gears. We killed that boss first try, piss easy. The other boss we had struggled with, I think especially the first one. First, first one. We were really too familiar with the system. So yeah, that was a struggle. Orion wasn't too bad. Yeah, I think maybe once or twice. But Orion wasn't too bad. Yeah, Galana was once.
And then we get to the worst area. Oh God, the barren sea. It is a giant desert location. Where there's these little fruits around and they have a 50% chance of being an enemy in disguise. Oh, that's great. And so, yeah, and they'll just pop up, be like, hey, and like run up to and attack you. And it's like you just, you try to walk through the area, you kill one another, one spawns, you kill one, another, one spawns, you kill one 'cause you're you're trying to walk and trying to like explore more of the map and get further in and just more spawn.
Yeah, another another problem with that area is that you gain burning damage if you're out in the sand in the middle of the sun. Yeah, during the day. And you will catch on fire, yeah. The frozen waste you get cold if you're on the snow and or ice during the night. Eventually Mark was like, hey, what if we negate burning damage? I'm like, you're a genius. I'm adding reverb to that go on. I was like, you're, you're a fucking genius, Mark. And so you stroll around a lot of enemies can't like a lot of the bigger enemies like spew oil and or just splash fire on the ground.
You're immune to that too. Oh, you, you, you take the initial hit. But if let's say someone spits fire at you, you know it happens and you walk into the fire. Fine, you don't take any damage. It's just the initial hit will deal damage. But like, I'm like Mark, I'm looking at Mark. I'm like you're, you're the smartest person alive. While you're good at strategy games. Yeah, And then I had the bright idea. I was like, you know, Ethan, now that we're negating burning damage, what if I start throwing burning damage?
That's right. I got a a submachine gun that spurts oil all over the ground and then I shoot out fire bullets that ignite all the oil and it sets everything on fire, all the all the objects around us, all the enemies and it just catches the entire island on foot. Anyway, we get to the last rider. It's a sniper, so you kind of got to like, dance around it, yeah. We. Surprisingly took it out first try. Yeah, it was very scary, but we did it. Yeah, and here's a little me be like, all right, cool. We finished all the riders.
Ethan are we don't the game. He's like, no, he's like, now we're actually getting to the game. Now we're getting to the end. There's there's a thing you can do with the riders. I won't say, but in case you guys want to play wizard with a gun. But we get to like what Mark thinks is the final boss. He's like, ah, yes, this this giant like jellyfish is fondling this gigantic gear. I'm like. So this is the end. Right, gear that we need. Yeah. So this is the end, right, Is it? Yeah, sure. And so Mark is like, where's the riders?
They don't show up in this fight. And then we kill it. He's like, why did the writers showed up? I'm like Mark, I told you. I'm like, OK, well, I guess it was just kind of bugged out or whatnot, OK. And then we spun back into the world and it's like, oh, look, there's this little portal thing. I was like, oh, cool, we go into it. The writers are there. He's. He then I'm like, we're not done, are we? Yeah, he's like, no. And then we go in, there's the final boss. I'm like oh do we get smacked like 2 bits?
And I'm like, oh. Yeah, that's why. And this entire time, like I'm making, I'm making this sound like we breezed through the game. No, we did not. No, they did not. I would when I was on with you guys and you were playing it. No, it's a struggle. It was struck, Yeah, every other run, maybe like every like, like every three out of four runs. We were just like, help, remark, help. It was a catastrophe. I need healing. I met two health out of 2000. Wow. Everything, even even the base area stuff, everything scaled up at the tech as you got further into the game, Yeah, so you would still get taken down like two or three hits.
But then you have the special enemies. Oh yeah, we took out the the Makana in the first area in the Imperium just fine. We took out Frog the whatever the horror in the. Fell thing. Kind of. Easily. And then we try to take on the wolf and what was it like a giant like anglerfish or whatever. Yeah, yeah. That had like 6 legs. They both spawn a kin of smaller sizes. Yeah, it's bad they. Were both summoning enemies. We got swarmed. We eventually took down the dog somehow, I don't remember how. Fire, fire, fire.
That's why that's that's why I set up the fire some GE remember? Yeah, I know it's funny 'cause this gun didn't shoot straight either. She's like Boo Boo, Boo Boo Boo Boo Boo Boo Boo. And it he had, he had oil trail bullets. So as it was, as the gun was. Moving. They were leaving an oil trail on the. Which way? And then he's like, set it up, fire gun, just like. That's smart though. Like that, that that's cool. Yeah, I mean, it's that way with the bullet, with the oil bullets splash. They're like all right, enemies burn for longer if they're if they're splashed with oil.
And I had like a similar trade on the fire bullets. So it was just nothing but non-stop just tick damage on everything. And, and the dynamic between us, he had a bunch of like a lot, a lot of fast firing, like tiny damaged guns. I had a lot of slow firing, heavy hitter guns. He was, he was geared for more of the heavier enemies and I was geared up for a lot of the the swarms. You're basically ad clear. Ad clearing while he was focusing on the larger threats, Right? And we, we, we've, we've gone into a rhythm when we actually started getting into it.
Yeah, 'cause we still had to take down I think Kelan. No, we had to do the thing with the writers. Yeah, we had to do the special thing with the writers. We had to take down the the mass of creatures in the area. Yeah. And then we had to do the chaos bosses. Yep. I knew when you guys were like locked in, no fucking talking. And I'm like wow, or I'm going to be quiet too, man. Like this is like serious like I I would I, I shut up. I. Didn't even notice because I was just, I was just so focused on the game.
Oh, it it was like. We didn't. We wouldn't even need to communicate either, it just locked in. Yeah, I know the only thing we said, healing, healing more. I I got myself at least a person like Yeah. Yeah, like there could have been questions I needed to ask you guys, but it was like, Nah. Nah, Nah. They're locked in. Locked in, I'm sure. But yeah, yeah, we, we completed the this year. What, the day before Christmas or something? Literally Christmas Eve, Yeah. Hey, that's cool. Like 3:00 going to Christmas Eve.
All of a sudden I erupt, Ethan erupts. We're just like, Oh my God, we fucking did. It I think it was like 3:00 PM too, so it wasn't like that far into the day either. Yeah, God damn. Yeah. And then, you know, so there was 1 episode where Mark was like, yeah, I want to play this game called Generation 0. He never says shit about games that he wants to play that he hasn't gotten yet. Yeah. And I'm just like, all right, I know what I'm getting from him for Christmas. And so now that's going to be our game for 2026.
Yep, and I need to play that that VR dungeon game. I still don't have it. I I need to get it? Yeah, I, I wanna, I'll probably like play it on my own and see how right, how it is or what not. Yeah, it's going to be just like a business. Oh yes, this new rogue, this new Co-op rogue leg game that we can play. You mean I can? Play I can play no abysses is fun. I can't wait for the winter update. I don't know when it's coming, I. Also have to fucking play it. Do you do you own it? No.
Listen buddy, I will. I knew the fence. You were doing other stuff. Yeah, I I was busy with fucking financial shit because of the New York trip. Yeah, I don't know. You wanted a business, actually. Yeah, I wanted to join you guys. And then it's like, Oh yeah, I already beat him like a day. I was like, well, I guess that's it for me. I will still. I will still. That's. Like you saw everything you needed to see. That's one of the few rogue like I I actually just like played like a basic bitch run.
Like no no brine, whatever. I just played like a basic bitch run probably a couple days ago because I'm I'm still I, I will still play that game. It's so fucking fun. It it is good I just switched those. Those type of games would keep my attention. Yeah, because I noticed like you and Bran were like, yeah, let's play this for one day. And I'm just like, I'm even going to play it for like a week straight and. Then my attention went to something else. Yeah. Yeah, I, I, that is probably one thing I don't like about myself, but it is just, it is what it is.
My my attention is so bad. Now Emma and I are excited to play out last trials with you. Oh, you're going to have one hell of a time, let me tell you. Yeah, it is. Communication is key. Yeah.
And it's so some of them puzzles. Shit man, they get difficult. That's fine by me. Is especially when you've got a enemy on you at times. Also like some of the locations in that game are great, like just environmental, just the way it looks 'cause there's there's one in particular that is like like mouth, like teeth related and shit like it's fucked up. Like if you like Outlast, you know what you're getting yourself into. It is fucked up. Yeah. But it's a fun time. It, it really is like me and me and Tyler when we were playing it last year was a good time.
Fucking Marcus, man. This man Marcus, you know who you are. He. Somebody would be coming Aftermath because Marcus isn't used to those type of games. You know he. He's more like sports and, and like that buddy, he, he wanted to play with us. So I'm like, yeah, no, he can do this, you know, And I'll never forget when he quit in the middle of the game. Oh no, you can't. Do that man, because it screws everyone else. Yeah, now if you get kicked for, you know, like Internet issues. Right, that's that's a different story.
But then like Marcus, why did you leave? So me and Tyler, it's it's kind of hard to play on your own because there's just so much you need to do in these levels. From what you're describing it, it reminds me of doing like Call of Duty Easter eggs. And you always had the one designated guy. Yeah, monitoring the crawler. Yes. Everybody else could do everything else. That was my job. That's funny that. Was my job sometimes, but yeah, it was mainly your your. It's like that, but on steroids. Yeah. It's like you might have multiple pursuers on you.
Yeah.
So yeah, it's best for one person to try to get the pursuer somewhere else, which could be a pain in the ass can sometimes the pursuer changes who it's going after. Oh boy. And you're having to try to do the objective. There's multiple things to do within a set objective. It can be, it could be stressful. So, and, and there's always something that goes wrong or an enemy that spawns that bucks you over, which makes you have to now deal with what they just did to you on top of, oh, here's the other like the main enemy coming after you 'cause he's ready for you.
Oh no, like it it it is 2. Minutes. I got you for 2 minutes. 2 minutes for play time. You're on my time, I. Got you for three minutes. That's for three minutes. No, it's fun. I, I, I'm very excited to play with you guys. OK that, but that's sorry. That's how I felt when I played. Fucking GTFO. Yeah. 3 minutes. I got you for three minutes. I will not touch that game. I miss playing it though so much. I do too. I I that's a game that I desperately want to get better in. We need a fourth player so.
Yeah, because I know we can easily get Nick onto it. Yes, right. No, Nick will. Play Nick will play. Good. I my my patience for that type of game is is not there. Yeah, I do you. I'll drag it down. You have to be patient with. Yeah, I'll, I'll drag you down. Yeah, I just will not. Yeah, I will not do that. Do you guys? Yeah, See what? Jack? Jack just can't handle it. He's just like, you know, it's like. It's a cool game. No, it's. Just so much stress. And like, there have been times where like me, Nick and Mark are just like, all right, we got we each got an enemy.
We got our hammers on our 321. Bam, all, like, all in unison. Yes, we're locked in. Yeah. Like I watched what Markiplier? Yeah, yeah. How much Markiplier Weed and Bob? And then just watching them stressed me the fuck out. Yeah, because if you fuck up, yes. That's it. That's it. You're dealing with a swarm and you're not, you're not going to have a good time after that either. No, even if you even if you get through the swarm, it's very hard to recover. But I I will appreciate it for the level of cooperation you have to do with your teammates.
Yeah. Like, I don't, I can't think of any other game that is that involved. Yeah, I don't. Think like that's aggressive. Yeah, it is. Like I even though I don't play it doesn't mean I don't like it. Yeah, I like the game. I like what it does, but I just, I can't myself play it. Yeah, I just don't think I'm having a good time. Yeah, yeah, right. Yeah, but I'll watch you guys play it. Hell yeah, I'll watch it. I don't care. Fuck yeah, I wanna watch you guys suffer. Yeah, of course. What if we actually what if we get Shelby to play it?
I doubt Shelby will have the patience for. It I don't know, she likes like whenever she plays like Legend of Zelda, she's always like sneaking around like not true and like she's always said like, oh, I've like I've always tried to like sneak around and be like, you know, getting the mindset of a stealthy person like maybe there's a chance there's. A chance she. Probably would do OK. Yeah. Yeah, I'm just I any stealth games I get anxious. Honestly, I don't like stealth games because I'm just like, I just want to shoot.
That's what everything but this one you have to steal. It will force you into it and it will. It will make you think. About like and like. That's what I like about it. It's it's. Like clear the room without fucking everything. It's a tactics. Game, yes. Yes, it it kind of also like I know this is kind of totally different, but it also kind of reminds me of how was it ready or not in a way? Yeah. Yeah, like it's like they're two different games. But because I have ready or not, I do. Too. I fucking love that game.
Yeah, I like playing it. Yeah, it's like that's probably about as far as I'll go. Yeah, because you have typical shooters. Yeah. And it's not anywhere you're in in heaven, that type of involvement like TFO. Yeah. And I will say we can get back to this, but I didn't want to bring up something Mark talked about beforehand. Yes, New Year's resolutions. I have a gaming resolution for next year. I have this bingo card, actually. Where's my phone? Because I'm going to read it out. Ow, that hurt. I have this bingo card that I made of games that I currently owned at the time.
This was before Christmas because I saw someone else do it on like a Steam achievement hunting web subreddit. Yeah. So I'm like, oh, that's a good idea. And here it is for I'm I'm going top to down, left to right. So first the B column, then ING O but planet crafter at the top, then spirit fair, volcanoids, sea of stars, underdogs in the B column. Yeah, cube. It's a puzzle game. Gunfire Reborn tear down slime rancher 2 Sonic Mania in the I column Astro near Terraria, isopod wobbly life and off the RPG in the north column, Quantum conundrum, Body Bite Land overclocked Moonlighter, psychopom gold and let's build a zoo in the G column.
Risk of rain too weird RPG, which that's like a you're going to have to see this. It's kind of funny. It's it's meta. Yeah. Dicey Dungeons, A Hat in Time, and Circle Empire. Rivals for the L column. God. Currently I have crossed off Planet Crafter. Yeah, it's not the new year, but this is my bingo card. I completed it after I made it. I'm counting it. If you have a problem with it, it's not your bingo card. It's not you. Shut up. It's not you, It's me. Yeah, it's me. Shut up. I need to I really need to
finish A Hat in Time. Me too. It's. Such a cute. Game I got to the train level and I stopped. I got. Through the conductor in the whatever. That's where I stopped. Yeah, yeah. God, I haven't played that in. Years. I haven't either, yeah. Do you guys got any other or do you guys got any New Year's resolutions for games? This year I really want to start actually getting games and playing games that I want to play, especially now that my career is kind of starting to stabilize everything and I had a.
Little scroll bar on your steam profile? Yeah, yeah, I need one. I remember the first time that I got enough games. I have a scroll bar. I'm like hey scroll bar. Oh man man, I remember when I when I had money and I was buying a bunch of fucking hubba bundle. Yeah, yeah. I just buy the games that I on steam. I don't really care because being a Steam achievement Hunter, I'm like I if I buy a game, I'm a Humble Bundle and I don't care for it. Yeah, I can make a deal. But like, yeah, that's another game that I'd have to 100% or whatever, get more achievements just to keep where I'm at, which actually I recently I went from 52 to 53 percent average game completion rate.
That's a big jump. That's a big jump. Well, also remember when you get like, well, you probably know this, but those Hubble bundles, like I just grabbed the games that I'm gonna play. Yeah, cuz I don't put all of them in. Yeah, OK. And I think those keys don't expire, so you just keep them so you can put them in your Steam library or whatever. What? The ones you don't use? Wow, that's cool. Yeah, that's what I've done. That's because like 25 bucks or whatever, 20 bucks for like 10 or 15 games, yeah.
Like shit, yeah. You know, that's just how I've gotten my games. Now if the Steam's like the Steam sale, like yeah, I'll go and get what I'm gonna play. Yeah, Cuz I mean, there are games in my library right now that I probably will never play, but they're there. Yeah. Yeah, and I think you can all can you? Can you remove games? You can play. You can. Hide them. Yeah, you can hide them if. It's like a free game you can probably like. You can remove. It yeah remove from your profile. But if you bought the game, it's like it just stays.
Right. Yeah. Did you go to? Is that your? No, that's not your. This is a little discussion. Now my, my resolution kind of like I, I need to start playing like I want to start playing some of the games that I've got. Because I've got too many. Fucking games on that fucking. Profile and I missed your 600 over here. Yeah. It's stupid. I got 200. I really want to get a play through of Outer Wilds and because I've heard good things about that game and you know, I really want to just kind of see what the hype is about.
Personally. I also want to, if it, I want to get through full playthroughs of some of my some of my other games because I fall into the trap of, oh, I'm getting really busy that I forget, like Satisfactory. I get really busy with life that everything's so convoluted and complex that I just can't keep up with it and I get burnt out just trying to get back into into the gear of things. Well, that makes sense because you play, you're like at a point where like once, once you've been playing for a while, you're like, OK, I can handle this.
But you know, you stop for a year or whatever, however long you come back and like, what is any of this? What am I doing? Where am I at? Where is everything? What is? What makes what? Like. Yeah, I just now thought of another resolution. If we're if we're all going to play 76, I want to try to do that the raid that's in the game. That's that's another resolution I want to do is I want to I want to expand out our our raid team for our gaming group. Yeah. Because I want to start doing like harder stuff like like especially in Destiny as well.
Yes, because I must say is that she's got a friend. We could potentially get him to start playing and then I think we could probably get Dylan to start playing as well. Because I think you can if this will probably never happen, because I don't. I can't remember how Jack feels about Fallout in general. I think he he doesn't mind it, yeah, but it's just not something he really likes playing. Which, Yeah, perfectly. That's you. That's. Fine. Right. But I think you can. I think you can have up to five people in a team.
Yeah, 76. I thought I would have guessed 4. You know, typical. Number. I thought those. 4I I it could be 5. I think I'll have to take a look. It might just be more, but if it was 5, like, hey, I mean, Jack wanted to, I mean, yeah, more people, whatever, you know, 'cause I know you and me, we're having a blast today. Oh my God, yeah, yeah. I was only, I was only like level 4 and I'm just like, I'm just rigging and I'm just having fun with my little wooden stick. Yeah, and I'm just over here fucking.
Starting starting the journey back up to the Rocket Hammer, I see. Yes, I am. Yeah, the Super. I am, yes. Are you doing an old man playthrough? Please tell me your character's an old man. No, I just. We could be like old man, wave, stick and clap. No, I didn't even think about that would be funny. But I I just chose the character, the sign of me as it was a female and the guy. Whatever I don't want to do because I just want to play. Yeah, I. Want to say you can. If I remember right, you can change it later.
Yeah, I do have another resolution though, is to find a game that I can just deep dive into. They're like, I have ADHD. I've always bounced from game to game, maximum every month, minimum like probably a week. Yeah, for my entire life. You want something that you kind of nail down and be like, this is a standing game for myself. Pretty much like for example wizard one O 1 yeah or Fallout 76 something or like payday 2 something I can just like deep dive in, really get to know the nitty gritty and like figure out like the most like niche strategies or whatever.
Have a bit of mastery in. Yeah. That's how that's what Fallout is to me. Yeah, right. It's my deep dive. I mean, you have 800 hours just about, yeah. Yeah. Like, at least on Steam. Like that's not a lot to compare to like other people. Yeah. That's a lot to me. Fuck off. What? Do you mean it is? I mean it is? What do you mean? Like I didn't like when meeting. Terraria I have 800 hours total like on Steam. Like that's between Terraria and. Team on. OK. What's really picking up there? Yes. Yeah, we need to get.
We should do that.
Because I want to get you through Calamity mod. Because I want you to see the fuck shit and the beauty in it. It's a it's a beautiful mod. Right. Oh yeah, yeah, I kind of figured. I just know it's difficult. Yeah, it's difficult, but it's got a lot of beautiful things about it. I wouldn't think of it as difficult. Think of it as like challenge, like because I remember, hold on, I remember when I was like being to Mark and Jack, I was like, guys, we should play calamity, we should play calamity. And they're just, they both are just like, but then there was a day where like I just booted up and started playing.
I'm like, actually, it's not really that bad because you know, at the start you get the rule from stuff, whatever. I'm just like, it's not that bad. It's got some quality of life where you can move faster and do more damage or whatever. And they're like, all right, let's play it. Then we just right through calamity, bored a hole straight through it. Some more challenging than yes, being just outright fucking hard. You know it's not hard at all and the curve is pretty good. Yeah, OK, See that? That's what I like that like the curve isn't like a fucking drop.
I I would say the curve is better across all of calamity than all of just base Terraria. Without the mod, yeah. Like base Terraria, as soon as you get past the wall of flesh, you hit a wall. Like pretty much the curve is this. It's just 'cause like, this is like the end of Calamity, where it's just like every single boss you have to gear up for. And once you kill a boss, you get access to more resources to gear up for the next boss. Yeah, and the next boss is just not a challenge. Yeah, no. When you in Bistro are you?
It's kind of like, oh, it's a very slow start up because you had the first go because you remember the first couple of nights we're still just trying to find. Stuff. Big fucking metals to get going. Yeah. And then it starts picking up. Picking up and then kind of levels off as you get to the Wall of flesh. Then it's just a fucking Cliff right at the beginning of a yes of a hard mode. Because now you have all those different enemies, all these different systems that come into new biomes, new biomes, new.
Enemies. Harder enemies. Everything hits like a truck. Yes, everything that you have up until that point because. Like you beat the wall of flesh, you're just like I am or like you, you know, like at the end of like free hard mode, you're just like I am my God, I am at the top of the food chain. And then you beat wall of flesh. You're like, yes, I did it. Now you're. Smacked down. Now you're in hard mode and you get. Now you're just a family on the wall. Yeah. Maybe I want to go back to.
Nah, yeah, you had to experience be strarium. Well, yeah. Yeah. No, I want to get through bass and then we can continue where we left. Off yeah I mean we can even like restart if you really want to read familiar's cuz we did kind of breeze. Through a couple in there. Yeah, we did breeze through a couple bosses for Calamity. How about to say you guys just took everything out? Yeah. And I'm just like, nice, all right? What are we doing, dude? What the fuck did we do? So when we get back to that, we should like take it easy, be like, all right, Brandon, like here's what's next or here's what we can do and just get you looking at the guide and seeing what you can craft whatever resources you're like, okay.
It'll be easier for me since I would kind of know how base Terraria is. Yeah, I kind of need to know how that goes. A lot of calamity is base Terraria of tons of quality of life. Yeah, with with with other systems built on top of base I. I felt that when we started in base on your slowest shit, yeah. Like I kind of want to go back to calamity because. Calamity. You can hit the ground literally sprinting, Yeah. Yes. But in Terraria doesn't walk. Take another step. Take another step. I'm like, Oh my God, it's like I'm a fat guy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, it's nothing to say. That base Terraria is bad. It's. So no, no, no, no. It's built. It's built in a different way. Yes, yeah. It's just calamity is just, you know, it's built on top of it and it's just has so many different quality of life. Yeah. Like I'd say we're currently, what would you say, Ethan, about 1/3 of the way through base now? I remember where we're at. Yeah, about the same. We don't. Just beat Wall of Flesh. Is that a third? That's about 1/3. I wouldn't. Say like 1/4 just because pretty hard mode it is like so easy compared to hard mode plus like the length of hard mode is like 3 times.
As long we still have the mechanical bosses now, then we have the fucking. We have Golem, we have Plantera, we have Cultists, then we have the Four Pillars, then we have Moon Lord. The pillars are actually pretty fun. The pillars are fun. Yeah, if you go to the melee pillar you're going to get fucking decimated, but it's pretty fun.
What's this dude? Yes. Oh look, they're melee enemies so I can fly, right? That tells me not the flood. It don't matter. So what you're saying is when I get fucked up by that melee fucking tower thing I look like that cat? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The cat hasn't. Yeah, you're gonna be mad. Don't worry, you'll learn about the celestial pillars. Oh, it's gone. Is that you? I'll be like Yoda. Are you afraid? No, you will be.
You will be. OK, but seriously though, I'm, I'm really excited for Generation Zero. Yeah, I have played the game before. I know how it works, but like, because me and there was a time on Xbox when I had Game Pass where me and my my friend Nick were playing it. Well, we're just like walking on having a jolly time. I think he said something like there was a point in time where we met enemies and we're just like, these enemies are harder than we've ever fought before. Yeah. And he's like, those are DLC enemies.
We don't even have the DLC. What? How does that even make sense? I don't know. But then we we, we got back into the game. Now there's like flying enemies. So it's like, oh, great, we're not even safe from the air. That's awesome. Like we're just going to hide behind this building. No, no, you're going to take your 556 and just shoot at it until God dies.
Shoot him out of the air. She's. God dies. I'm I'm I'm excited to get afraid of what I've gotten since. Oh, it's it's actually really. Fun. Yeah, yeah, you're. Going to have a great time. It's like as you walk around the map you can get like a safe. I hate this fucking chair. Yeah, you sit in it every time. I know it's comfortable. I hate this chair. I like this chair. I'm that cat.
He's angry, but he still continues to sit in the same spot. But I'm also very content as the pretzel. That's true. It's a very happy pretzel. That's smiling face anyways. That's pain. Yeah, I know there's like different safe houses you can get into. And it's like, it's weird because you got to clear out the safe houses and then like, you got to find, I think like the the room or some, maybe. Yeah. And then like, that becomes your safe house. And like, you teleport over to your safe house. Like, how do we get out of here again?
Because each one is like, windingly different. Oh, geez. So you go to a safe house, you're like to go left or right to get out.
Where am I? Yeah, really. Oh, I just thought of another resolution. Oh go for his resolution. We need to get fucking past plantatees and and what was the other one? And you, Udra and Gog God, Oh, you're talking about monster? Monster in the Wilds. Yes, Monster in the Wilds. Yeah, I I really want my fucking Chocobo. Yeah, damn it. Have have you seen some of the GOG weapons? No, Oh my God, they look awesome. I'm assuming that the dual blades have something. Where's my food? Let me just show you the great sword.
Yeah, that that boss fuck lit us the fuck up. Jesus. We got close though to beating. We got the final phase. Jay, you guys should have understood that something was going to happen when Jack and I were both saying isn't going to be an Allitreon moment. Sure enough, there was. Because you and Emma have never faced the Elder Dragons yet like we we never even got that far in Rise with you. Yeah, which we got to get back to Rise. Oh God yeah, that that little dragon is fucking well. When it's screwing Jack up is when I get scared.
Yeah. Seeing Jack be thrown around like a rat. That reminds me of when I played Araius and we were playing like the DLC whatever. This is the great sword.
Anyway, when my it? Looks like you've got the fucking 10 commandments. Yeah, wait, let me see. Oh my God, that's the dog. Great sword. Dude that is awesome. That is fucking awesome. Yeah, that reminds me. When me and Jack were playing Rise on the Switch, we were playing the DLC on break, I think it's called. Yeah. And we were going through the monsters. We beat the, we beat the game and I'm like, oh, finally we beat it like Jesus Christ. And then so like I think we take a break for like maybe a day or two, maybe 3.
And he's like at some point he says we're not done yet. I'm like, wait, what? We're not. We're not done. Oh no, he's sweet Summer's child. But yeah, he says that I'm like, then I got booed up my switch on the car. Right, let's go. Let's. Go granted Ryze is like probably one of the is one of the easier games for Monster Hunter, but Oh my God was it still just like trying to get through it? Yeah, I was enjoying my time in that well, when we were playing it and Ryze, that was pretty cool. Here's the dual blades.
Oh, I'm about to have some fun. I want that. Oh, I want those dual blades. God damn.
It I I. Want those work? I want that we. Can I put that down? Can I put that down? And then what is the hammer? Oh God, I could just imagine the fucking hammer. Was there a hammer? Yeah. Where's the hammer? I was actually going to ask that, but I got sidetracked. I'm going to figure that out. You guys keep talking. What do you? Want to know about Brandon? Well, I like how I was telling you this earlier. Ethan with Mark with the Tom and Jerry shit. Oh. Rat Crambo. Crambo.
When I showed you that video at 1st, I'm going to beep, beep, beep, beep, drink a glass of milk or drink a gallon of milk like oh, ADHD, ADHD, watch, watch, get out. Get out, you know it should had me. Cracking up when I first watched because I'm just, I'm just here watching it. It's like late at night. I'm just like, OK, it's a Caleb City video. I haven't watched one of these in forever. So I just showed up. I'm like, all right, all right.
I was cracking up for 5 minutes, it was that funny. Oh my God, and a good shit. Oh my shit. Look at Mark over there. I know he's looking at his phone. Look. At this man. I'm a. Man, Jesus, he did that? I've never seen you. Yeah, like you fucked. Yeah, it's like you just snapped your damn neck. Holy shit. Look. I can I can move fast. I will say, yeah, Speaking of like the Payday 2 or game that I want to have like heavily deep dive into probably going to be Payday 2. OK, maybe a little bit. I'll follow 76 in there.
But I mean, granted, it's not as deep of a game as Payday 2, it's all right. It's all right. It's. Not as the others. It's not as deep like. It's not the Xbox. 76 I wouldn't say is as deep of a game as Payday 2. Granted there's less to do in Payday, but like Oh my God there's so many mechanics in that game. Oh, definitely. From sneaking around, is it tying people to telling them to get on the ground to like, I know on the higher difficulties there can be like cloakers or whatever that will just instantly knock you out and be like, all right, you're in handcuffs now.
Oh. Fuck. Yeah, yeah, stuff like that. Yeah, like it's just like we call this a. Difficulty tweak. It's like now in terms of like if you want to deep dive into lore. Oh God, yeah. Follow, follow. Yeah. Stupid, that. Trust me, I, I understand that because when the magic set came out for that, there was like, oh, like there was a bunch of sagas that was like, oh, vault 113, vault 111 Volt, 76 Volt, this vault that there's so many. And I'm just like, I, I read up on some of these vaults, 'cause I'm like, what?
What is voters dilemma, Burt? Maybe that's something. Maybe that's not what I said, but it's like what's like, like there's this voting one, like I read up on the lore, how like each year or whatever, they had to vote on somebody to become the new senator and then die. Yeah, the new. Overseer. There was 5 people left. We're not doing this. Congratulations. Congratulations. Good job of maintaining your humanity. Yeah. It's like what? Good on you. We just killed everybody we knew. Now my favorite vault will always be the Gary Vault.
Gary. Basically it's a it's Gary, but cloned so many different fucking times. And when you go into this vault, all you hear and all they can say is their name. So you could be like, literally like it's fucking great. I remember the first time I went into this vault and I'm like looking around. It's in Fallout 3, I believe. I'm in this vault and it's all of a sudden Gary, Gary a fuck. And I see this guy coming at they're hostile. Oh my God. And they're like, I'm seeing like 3-4 different fucking Gary's coming at me.
They're all named like they're named Gary, but a different number to be Gary 123. 147. Yeah, and Gary fucking punch me and shit.
Like Gary? That fault is so like, but it's it's horrifying when you hear them saying in the distance. Yeah, yeah. Gary. Gary. My God. No, like if you really like do a deep dive into Fallout's Lord those. Keep the chair counter going. Chairs. It's like a trumpet keep. Getting higher. Cramp.
I was going to say something. Oh yeah. So actually for Christmas I got plenty of games because I I wanted to talk about that for I got this game called Buck Up and Drive. It is the dumbest. Oh, it's such a dumb. Game funniest game ever. But it's so good. Yes, it is chef's kiss hard as shit, but it's it's just it's like a simple like what a dollar game or whatever. Yeah, something like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Got got Volo 76. I got like a couple indie games. I'm not going to talk about
surprisingly, Buckshot roulette, but one of my friends, I'm like what? One of my online friends, I'm like, what? That's like the weirdest game to ever. OK. I I is that, is that the, the like Russian like game with a shotgun? Yes, that's that is a very intense strategy game, believe it or not. It is. Oh, I know. Yeah. Isn't it technically a rogue like technically? Maybe. Because I I if I remember it on steam it like has like A tag. For like rogue like, I mean, anybody yeah, at this point, any game is a rogue like yeah, rogue like.
Honestly, I feel like if I think I should just be conjoined into one, that's what I like because it's at this point there's so many rogue likes. Sorry, lights. There's so many lights at this point. That is, there's less rogue likes and it's just like, just merge them into one, Yeah. You want to know what games that I really want to see you play? What's that inscription chair catter tick up? I was thinking about an inscription and like I've watched videos on it but I'm just like, I don't know. I'm not sure if this is really my kind of game because like, I watched Jacksepticeye play it and I can never get through a full video.
Yeah, yeah, I. Have I just? I'd say watch Mark play it. Watch Mark play it because he he gets really into it. There was a video I watched, maybe Endo or Endo, something like that, where this guy, like XI don't know whatever. This guy like, knows his way around the game. Yeah. Like he's like, Oh yeah, here's every infinite you can do in the game. Yeah, like Jesus Christ. Yeah. But what really confuses me is like inscription Part 2 or whatever where it's like the electronic computer. Yeah, yeah. Where?
Where the game gives you the twist, I'm like. What? I'm fine with the first part, Act one, but Act 2, I'm just like, no, this, this, no, that's the kind of part that turns me off. Yeah. It's like I was watching, I was watching somebody on Twitch play that. I'm like, what is the what is this? It's inscription. I'm like, what? This isn't, is it? Yeah, it is. I'm like, you're not explaining anything. I'm confused and you're not explaining it. I'm not quite like asking the right questions either because I'm so confused.
I'm like, I thought this was inscription. What? I think what you will need to do is to actually play it. Yeah. Probably because it just doesn't make sense to you actually. You actually do a playthrough of the full game. What? Well, if we're going that route, one game I would like to see you play. You have this game as Talos, the Talos principle. Oh. Yeah, yeah, I do need to get into that. The puzzle game, it's, it starts off really easy. Don't get discouraged by that, man. This is stupid. They get, they can get hard.
Yeah. Especially when you go for all the puzzles. They can get hard, yeah. You know, also what I didn't know, which I guess it kind of makes sense. I didn't know my brother actually played still ours. Really. I didn't know that. Yeah. He, I mean my brother, likes those like strategy games. And the the 4X games, yeah. Yeah, he's he's, I mean, he also fucking loves chess. It's fun. Yeah, I think he that one fucking chess game and then was a 5D chess with multi. Time loop. Yeah, and I'm like, Oh my.
How? Is this? Yeah, there was a point in time where I was joking with Mark. I'm like, so we're playing this right are. You, me, kids. I'm I'm good. But like he was like, whenever I think of chess, I'm like, man, I don't, I can't do. This I, I've tried playing chess. I'm like, I'm because I, I've watched someone play it so many times. I'm like, OK, so I know an opening or whatever, but I just, I just have no knowledge of the battlefield like this. The pieces don't make the pieces to me are too constricting.
Yeah, I like my brother, like he said, like playing chess isn't that hard. No, being good at it is. Being good at it is. Yes, exactly. Yeah. Like. I played against Nick who doesn't really play all too much chess and I still lose to him cuz I'm and we're both make if a grandmaster watched us play the. Guy would probably have a hard time, yes. It's an aneurysm, even, yeah. No, that's fair cuz my brother, he was in the chess club in high school. Yeah. So he's always been good with strategy games. I could watch him play him and my head hurts afterwards.
Certain strategy games I can play, like for example when I keep dressed as strategic. I was wondering when I was going to get brought up. You got lucky at that one. I, I don't care what Emma says, you did get lucky at that. Hey, I, I let one unit slip by me and that was it. I was like, God damn it, you chose the right fucking piece to attack because I I had so many different things that could have tripped him up. Yes. You just got lucky. You chose the right. You had three moving pieces. I had a 2 left.
Yeah, that's all I had. And he had like 3 pieces that were greater than two. So no matter what, or maybe even a 2 even and no matter what, I was screwed. Yeah. And I I did have a piece left minus my flag, but it was trapped with three bombs around it so I couldn't move it. Yeah. And I I was getting ready to start searching your area for it because I had I still had. Threes and there was a move you could have made that would have trapped my my speedster in, but you're just like, I'm going to move this one all the way in the back.
Yeah, I got, I got, I started playing with him a little too much and I was like, I want to, I want to wipe everything off this board. I got a little too, too sadistic at the end. It was like, oh, that costed me. Everything. And I'm just like, I just got to guess. I just got to guess, yeah. You guessed. Luckily I did because how I had it set up was I had 5 bombs around by my flag but I put the bomb not in the center. No, you had three bombs on like 2, like a six and a two or something like that. Yeah, yeah, because I wanted to to throw you off.
Yeah. With the different pieces. So I had the, I had, I put the flag on the outside because I wanted him to be like, all right, I'm going to attack. I wanted him to try to go to the center so I can have time to. React, My strategy, I just, you know, dump all the pieces, mix them up, and I just grab and put them on the field. However, which way even I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. I actually put a lot of thought into mine. I I don't put any thought yeah ever. And I could, I could cut my board like put all the bombs and like in lanes that could happen.
I could just have 3 fucking lanes. I'm just like, oh, I screwed well. I already lose. Or like all my high units on one inside of the board and all my lows, I'm like, oh, great, yeah. I mean, those are legit strategies. Too, they are, but just. Different ways of doing it. I play whatever the fuck I give my it is. It's the funniest thing. A lot of the times I will say, and this is kind of revealing, but a lot of the times I will put my flag in front, especially against someone I've never played before.
Yeah, because they'll never fucking guess that they'll be. Oh, that's a bomb. Because they'll play too cautiously. Until they run into a three and like, I'm going to dig up that bomb. Well, it goes my flag, Yeah.
But yeah, no, it's all, it's all in good fun. Yeah, it is. And we were just when you guys were playing that we were playing Tumble. Oh my God, yeah, my check. And one of y'all motherfuckers moved the table so slightly one of the fucking pieces fell and then shadow went underneath the. Oh yeah, Shadow. Oh my, he went underneath the fucking table. We. Got yelled and I was like no that was shadow. Oh God. Shadow gets the pieces, yeah. Chop, chop, chop. I love being part of the group. And while while we're eating fucking was it the gummy crabby patties bullshit?
And one of them was really bad. No God, I remember. Like I'd still love those but man, one of them. I forgot what what flavor it was but it was bad. I can't eat those anymore. I just I don't like the gummy. Texture the gummy. I just don't. I've never been into gummy candies. I was like never the biggest fan of it, but I could tolerate it. I'm like, no, eat it, whatever. But it was put in front of me. I'll eat it. But now I'm just like, I don't want it gets stuck in my teeth. It's like. Slime. It's like slimy.
And in a way. Sticky and gross. Yeah, man, I love the like the sour trolls candy, those kind of like gummies. Like the sour. I love sour stuff. Yeah, sour candies are pretty good. That's a New Year's resolution right there. What, eat a bunch of sour shit? No, my gigantic fucking crochet dinosaur. Oh yes. That I've been working on. It's over there. I put that together in like 2 months like that, that amount, yeah. Thing is going to be. Big. And I'm still not halfway done. Yeah. Oh, fuck, I'm on like round like 50 out of like 88 or something.
But I'm still, I still have so much like additions, like defeat their arms, all the spines. Yeah, the spines, yeah, yeah. You gotta stuff it. Oh God. Yeah. That's gonna. Be a project and I have. Yeah. It's already, it's, it's like 7 projects.
It's like, yeah, but I, I powered through it while it was in front of me, but then I moved out of the way and I haven't worked on it since because, like, it wasn't right there to work on, Yeah. Yeah, I mean, it's probably best when you're ready to work on it again. When you when you have some downtime. I'm, I'm getting ready to work on again like this because I got like 9 days off and I'm just like man, like this is the perfect time to work on it. I'm just like, I want to work on it. I'm working on it but I just keep getting sucked into the new games that I have because Christmas just happened.
Yeah, now that's fair. I mean, I've been getting kind of sucked into fucking curvy IT writers. Yeah. Trying to unlock everything I've shit I got to unlock. Damn it. So many characters and also some new warp stars. You got to bring it over so we could all give it a try, because I remember playing it on the GameCube over here. That was a fun time, yeah. It's. Great. Like between the GameCube and the new version, like it's definitely smoother, as it should be because I mean, it's a newer game. Yeah, but I will definitely say it.
I don't want to say it replaces the original. Yeah, they're both like, yeah, they're both good. They're both made for different times. Yes, but they're like surprisingly so similar. Yeah, I, I saw the first one and like, you know, a bunch of like videos on Twitter or whatever. I'm just like, Oh my God. Like this looks and like it looks like it will play very great. Like in in my hands it looked like it'd be. Playing oh, it's amazingly, it is so like just responsive. Just it is. It's really fun and it's fast.
Yeah. Like the the laps don't last very long. Like it's just, it's all crazy, but it's it's so much fun and the the detail with with just like picking your picking your character is fucking cool as shit. Looking like it's not just a screen like I mean it's a screen but like the animation. Which is a. Oh.
What I want to say is, I know, I know. We've given Nintendo a lot of Flack this year. And we still will. And we still will, but it's it's nice to see something that's got a little bit of quality coming out. Oh, it definitely does. And I mean, you can probably thank Sakurai for that. Yeah, all right. I mean, wasn't he the No, wasn't wasn't the guy that made Smash Bros made the original? Yes, he he like well, that and and I mean Kirby also is his whole thing. Oh, is it? I don't know that. Yes, that that is his baby.
Did not know that. Yes, that's why it's kind of funny. You can see the resemblance with Smash Bros and this new Kirby. You can see it. Yeah. Because it's still, it still has the like that grid for unlocking shit. Yeah, that's in this game. That's cool. There's like 4 different game modes to play.
One of them is kind of like the, I don't want to say it's like Smash Run in a way, but kind of. The city. Trial, kind of. There's city trial, Yes, whole new map. Yeah, I saw that. I'm like this it looks. It's so beautiful. It's a gorgeous game. Did it. That plays pretty good. Yeah, it's surprisingly gorgeous. Yeah, that's that's well, also I want to bring this up really quick too, because I finally got kind of an Patrick's opinion on the new Pokémon. Yeah, because I wanted his opinion. Because he's finished it now.
Yeah.
All the issues people have been having, he has not. OK. The like the it's apparently was a pretty smooth experience all around. And he's like, again, it's another Pokémon game. There is also actually, I'm not going to say that it's kind of a spoiler. Watching them play it, it, yeah, it was like smooth as shit. Like I didn't see any issues from what I could tell and I mean at some point, I mean he has it. I don't have to buy it. I can play it if I want and see if it's any good. I just have to be in that right like mindset for it because my my opinions on that game.
It could have been better, you know, you know, but I. My my criticisms toward that game are mostly about the quality of the game itself. Yes, could have been better. Fuck yeah, could have. But like, if if you're going to market the game at at least when it comes to the textures, at least put in a little bit more effort. Like the, the flat windows, the the, the walls, they're just floating. It's if Nintendo wants to talk about having tons of quality in their games, at least in one of your larger franchises with Pokémon, at least make sure that the quality is up to par.
That shit still makes me laugh fucking hard is the fucking. I love it. Like I know it's bad, but it just makes me laugh. And then like I also brought up to him like, because I know we talked about it where it's like, you know, Pokémon's just kind of the same thing all the time. And he's like, yes, that is true, but a lot of games are like that. That is also true. That are in a like a literal series. Yeah, yeah, Fallout, you do the same fucking thing. Yeah, in a way you still do you. Have different variations of similar stories.
And like, I think there's just the fact that there's so many. Yes, yeah, that's Pokémon. He brought that up, yes. Like there's five fallouts. There's yeah, I mean you. Know there's the spit off games, but those play differently. But there's also like 3 paydays there's, you know, like 5 Smash Bros ish Pokémon. But there's like. There's decades and decades and decades worth of Pokémon games. There's. Also decades of Call of Duty too. Yeah, he brought that up as well. Yeah, Call of Duty is following the same sort of trend of we're at the bottom of the barrel here.
What do we fucking do? I guess the difference would be between Pokémon and Call of Duty is it's not a yearly release. The The thing is, though, it's just, it's, you see it so often. Yeah, that's what you that that's it. You just see it so often. It's the same thing every time. Yes. It like, yeah, there's Gigantomax or, you know, Mega Evolution. But that that doesn't ever. No, it doesn't. You're still, for the most part, you still have these quote UN quote base foreign pokemons. Yep. Battles, same thing, right?
Maybe a dual battle here and there. Yeah, have you really seen? I haven't seen dual battles in a while. No, you're really and that was the horde mechanic, but. Yes, I just can't remember the last time I've had seen a dual battle because. I don't remember having them all the time with with Platinum. Yeah, there was. There was a lot of them in there, yeah. Like the the like the newer 1? I don't. I think there are probably dual battles I just haven't seen them. But the the dueling is the battles are so different now, like in at least in this new one, yeah, that they the battles kind of just go.
They just happen. Yeah, but no, I don't know. I mean, at some point maybe I'll try it. Like I said, I got to be in the mindset for Pokémon. It's just one of the the games I'm. Yeah, I think my time has passed. I, I, I could, I could definitely see at least it's not in the same position that Activision's finding itself the Call of Duty series because don't. Use AI for. Stupid things. Well, not just that, but. Just releasing. It what the fuck happened with Seven with Black Ops 7? This used to be a series that was very much based on, you know, realistic shooter sort of scenarios what you've seen.
Like it was a little bit over to the top with like with action and stuff, but it was primarily, oh, we're, we're very grounded in terms of like with Modern Warfare, we're doing special spec OPS stuff we're doing. That was fun. Spec OPS was fun. Yeah, yeah, I, I, I'm, I'm talking about like the old Modern Warfare and at the reboots like I'm talking about with, oh, we're, we're doing war fighting in Afghanistan and in old Soviet republics that are in the process of rebuilding. And there's, there's realistic scenarios of, oh, we're dealing with ultra nationalists, we're dealing with fundamentalist groups, we're dealing with all these other issues.
And you know, it just had a sense of it had a feeling of reality to it. And now it's all just it it keeps devolving into, oh, it's got to have AI as like a a core concept of not just generation, but just narrative component. It is, is AI like like like robotics and futuristic shit. And it just, it doesn't seem like it's focused anymore. I think you cracked the code. I ain't feel the same way with Borderlands after two. It's kind of like whatever, because the original idea of Borderlands, like the first three Borderlands pre sequel and two is like the fact that it was grungy.
It was like a survival wasteland. You know, the first one was kind of more Mad Max Y than anything, which is still fine, but it's like it's the fact that it's like a like a shattered world with a wasteland aspect. And like there's these tribes that are trying to like thrive and or like loot resources off of other tribes and people losing their goddamn mind and just everything. But then you get to like 3 and now you have like sci-fi weapons with like like these are basically K pop stars, electronic influencers, whatever they call them.
It's like it's just. It's it's they've all lost their sense of identity. And then same thing, same thing with Wonderlands. Like I like I like the idea of wonderlands as medieval, like whatever it. Made a great deal see and I'm happy that that they had a spin off, but it's at the same time it's just it. Still had like space weapons in there too. The the identity shift gradually. I I did like the voice actor or whatever for the Wonderlands, and I want to go back and beat it at some point. Yeah, I genuinely want to beat it.
I will go back through and play it with you whenever you feel like you want to get into it again. I mean, just just to beat the campaign. Yeah, because. I've got it too. I don't know how many people can play that though. 4. Four. It's 4. OK, so I just, yeah. Typically. Four, I just don't have online and I don't want to pay for online. Yeah, that's fair. Unless we really pay play like, for example, Monster World. Yeah, really play monster in our world. Like, I don't know, 20 days out of the whatever, but like our schedules just don't line up right now.
No. So it's just not worth it. Yeah, like you're. Yeah, yeah, yours are. Mind bringing because you know you don't. Yeah. But Mark, you know, you get on at like 9. At 9, I'm getting off at 10. Yeah, you don't. Have enough time? Yeah. Just right now, it just wouldn't. Work. Yeah, we'll figure it out at some point. I'm sure eventually though, oh it will. There'll be more time for us to whatever. Especially when I finally get off of contract I can finally start doing like PTO and shit like that. Yeah.
Start opening up my days more. Yep, being on contract sucks man. Yeah, I'm, I'm just kind of beholden to the contract right now to keep everything going. Yeah, but at least you at least you have the job, so. Yeah, I can't complain, you know. But, but again, it's like a lot of these games just kind of corporatized. They they, they, they don't receive routes. They went with. Everybody's talking about Cyber Rising and and everything's so bombastic and ridiculous and we have to go that route too. Well, I mean it was same thing with Borderlands 3.
Like they just come back to that. Like Borderlands 2 pre sequel one they had, you know, pop culture references. Yeah, which was cool to see. There's a way of tastefully doing it without going overboard. But then they had Borderlands 3, which is like memes, memes, throwing memes, memes everywhere, fucking memes. And yeah. And. And by the time it came out. Memes were twitch streamers and look at how much they suck. By the time it came out, all the memes were just, like, all dead. Yeah, there was the big suck.
Big dock energy is like, OK, yeah. That was funny at one point, but now in. Yeah, it's like from our perspective is a bunch of Gen. Z guys is this feels like something our parents made trying to be relevant. You're right. And James Z, I'm part of the millennials. Oh, yeah. I'm like right at the. You're right at the Buckingham. You're what, 97? 96. Yeah, you're right at the cosmic theme. Yep, I think you're tail end millennial. Yep. Because I I think the cut off line is 97. Yes, but you're close enough, it's whatever.
Yeah, it's yeah, yeah, we're rambling now. We, man. That's what this podcast is all about. Rambling, rambling. Rambling. But we're above time, so.
