Welcome to Plug in for Player 4, where you, the viewer, are the
Player 4. I'm your host, Mark and Brandon,
and these are my friends, Ethan Little one.
I'm Ginger. I think I just fucking had a
stroke. Maybe my soul just left the
room. Maybe I had a stroke.
Stroke was Ethan. And these are my friends Mark
and Brandon. Yeah.
Uh huh. You get in the mood,
motherfucker. Who's running the show here?
Me right now, my shit. He's setting the example I need
to beat his energy. I gave us a place to record.
I know, what do you have? Bigot.
I am the great artismo I am. The great artismo.
That's his name on Steam for me, by the way.
The great artismo. So dumb, why do you hate?
Me, how you guys doing today? Good, I'm.
Doing good. Oh, So yeah, yeah.
I'm doing good. I think I'm doing good.
First week of the new year. Yeah, going hopefully.
Well, we just have to see more weeks to see how it's truly
going. Yeah.
It's going to be a great year. But I think so.
I mean, I got my bingo card ready to go.
Yeah, I'm going to be, you know, going after that, plus all the
fucking new games that I have, too.
I. Want to play bingo now?
Let's do it right now, B16. I want to have, I want to have
Emma play that trend that was on TikTok with the bingo cards
where it was just be in the room with your boyfriend or husband
while he's playing a video game and you have a a bingo card with
everything that he might possibly shout out with.
Man, that's smart, Yeah. I wanted her to do that with me
because I think I think she'd have a place with that.
OK, kind of in the same vein, there was something that I wish
Shelby would do and that's be like, all right, like just
randomly take my phone and play Glory Hammer as my favorite band
and just be like like play like 5 seconds.
You'd be like, guess the song. However, I will say like half
the song start with the name of the song.
So it's like that's too. Easy.
Yeah, that's a little. Too easy.
Yeah, I know. I'm just like.
We'll get you a clip of five random seconds.
Yeah, really. Maybe I can.
Like maybe I can do the same thing with her with Tame and
Paula. Yeah, or Gorilla's one of the
two. Yeah, that'd be fun.
Yes. Yeah.
But the topic of today's episode, I think, I think Mark,
you'll like this, but this is actually a question.
I'm going to preface this. This is a question that I was
asked about 7-8 years ago when I back when I was working at
Walmart, I was doing clothes in the back, just, you know,
whatever, just hanging out with some, with some one of the other
work dudes working there and he's like, it'd be really cool
if there was a game that incorporated every other game
that you played into it. Oh God.
Oh, I remember. Any and all conversation you
want to have about this, from legality to just the pure insane
batshit bullshit there is about it, 'cause like, I've played, I
played a lot of Flash games, I've played a lot of very indie
games and just tried to incorporate playing a mobile
game right there. Yeah, just all of that into one
fucking game. Fuck.
There would just be so much that what cause like some games are
puzzles, some games are shooters, some games explorate
like explorations like yeah, explorative, yes,
explorationalizing explode Co-op games like.
Single player games. Stuff like speedrunners, that's
not a puzzle Nora like shooter. It's just like.
How do you break a game to make you completely faster?
Yeah, really. Like there's also so much
legality in that too. Yeah, I've played Marvel Rivals,
I've played Gundam games, I've played my fair share of old like
plug and play games. Fuck.
Yeah. Yeah, I've I've played so many
different genres. That's what I'm.
Saying that, it's like I could you imagine Fallout.
As a as a city builder. But as a Yeah.
Oh. Jesus Christ.
As a city. Builder, another settlement
needs your help. Preston.
I thought you were gone. We're not.
Even that part of the country, you motherfucker, Robert.
Washington State right now. Where the fuck did you come?
From just poops up out of nowhere to fucking sleep
paralysis demon. But yeah, like, yeah, like fall
as like a yeah city builder or like I or as like a or as like a
platformer. Oh, Jesus.
Christ, oh God. God, what fuck I would I would
have said survival horror, but it's it's it's.
Kind of like that. It's kind of got elements of
that are. Yeah, but I mean like, just
imagine like a puzzle game, but you have the movement of like
Titanfall 2. Fuck.
Yeah, you would break the puzzle games instantly.
Oh yeah. Honestly, I could see some
really interesting things made out of that.
Like a lot of like, it would have to be very much built
around. Yes it would.
I'm just saying a lot of puzzle games would shatter like glass.
Does your traditional puzzle games revolve around you having
to take time to think and strategize, whereas Titanfall's
movement is you have to build up and maintain speed?
Yep. I could see some pretty wonky
things you can do with like circuits and stuff where you
have to start off a chain and you have to get to another
location to keep the chain going and doing the right thing.
Yes. Using the movement tech to get
there as fast as possible. Like could you imagine Sonic
wearing a pit boy? That's where he keeps all his
rings. It's a tail boy.
It's. A tail boy, Yeah.
It's your tails. Gotta go fast as he sprints into
like a radiation zone and like just a ring pops off every
second or whatever. Tails give you the thumbs up.
And instead of bolts. Oh man.
Dude imagine those babies from soccer story.
Oh, no, no. That, that was so stuff, stuff
shut up. I'm not done.
That'd be a great sound bite to add to the discord or the
unedited version. Shut up.
I'm not done. I'm not.
Done. I'm not done.
No, no, okay, okay. Got and not not to golf trap,
but just to no. It's fine when.
You when you said that, your face was so red that I'm like,
oh, Mark, shush, something's going to happen.
I was, I don't feel those feelings anymore.
I was just like holding them in, bottling up and they was just
like kept fucking growing. That episode was there.
That was so. Funny it was.
Oh my God, there's. A pent up anger and frustration
and I was the Turkey. Yeah, and I'm over here in the
corner. Also.
Don't, don't get in my Direct Line of sight.
OK, OK, good talk. This is the out of my sight and
you'll be fine. God, that was fucking.
I was going to say a shooter game with portals, but that
split gate. That's fucking.
Portal no split game. Split Gate is more a first
person shooter. Yeah, it's an FPS with portals.
Portal is a portal. Yeah, yeah, no, that's, I was
just saying like a good FPS game with portals.
I'm like, oh wait, no, that's just, that's just like.
The fucking. Split gate.
Yeah. Oh.
Wait no hold on a horde shooter like split gate.
Oh sorry sorry a portal game with that's a shooter with horde
like mechanics like Left 4 dead 2.
I I feel like the portals would trivialize a little horde
mechanics. Though none of it's made for it,
I'm sure. I'm sure there's like a, a
balance. You could do it somewhere in
there, yeah. I mean, and you can that that
honestly would be kind of cool if a horde's coming and you're
like on the portal, you shoot it over here, you know, to get them
away from you like that. That.
Yeah. But I could see where that would
Yeah, that would be kind of like there's, there would be a way of
like. There would definitely be a way
to like balance that. Yeah, because that would just be
too easy, right? That actually also like the
sheer size of this game. If it's like every game you ever
played, put into one. Could you imagine the size?
Yeah, I know. This would be like a fucking
what? Petabyte.
Right. Yeah.
I like to think of. This is a Yanni man Wow.
OK, I like to think back to Arrowhead Studio's take on this
and a a game made for everyone is a game made for no one.
Yes. And if you try to shove so many
genres into one thing, you wind up a fucking spore.
I mean to be further was also it takes 2.
Yeah, but. Mainly a puzzle game, but there
was other. Yeah, I see what you're saying
with sport though. Yeah, where?
Where sport tried to be everything and nothing at the
same time. I never played it but like I
watched people play. I'm just like man, like each
stage just gets fucking worse. Yeah, yeah.
'Cause the cell game the the cells I I've played through.
When you're in the primordial soup, that's like Topeka right
there. That's peak spore.
Yeah, that's that. That's about as good as it gets
with just pure on. Use your ability, your parts to
get you and. Then once you get onto the land
you you're playing Spore from the Wii.
Yeah, you're you're playing Wii Spore, which is just interact
with all the things around you and try to get better.
Yeah. Like like the tribal stage was
OK. I'm not an RTS person.
Yeah, I mean, being somebody who's played RTS games in the
past, it it just kind of flowed. But at the same time I was like,
yeah, this is it. It really starts going downhill
from there. Personally, I really, I really
enjoy the the civilization stage, but that's, that's
because it's it. It's literally at that point a
true RTS. Yeah.
And then space stage is the worst because it's so fucking
repetitive. Yeah, no, like it's just
everything, but it's, you know, just so much nothing there's.
Yeah, it's literally just, oh, you had to go from planet to
planet. Yeah, go to this.
Planet. Oh, look, now you have another
Terra formation tool. Yeah, it's a star.
Yeah, cool. It's just a big old nothing
burger, yeah. Could you imagine like?
Listen. Like Sonic or or like Resident
Evil as an RTS? Especially Sonic.
Oh my God, no. How would that be?
Sonic RTO. Yeah, how the hell would you do?
That Sonic as a duck builder? How about that?
That's Magic the Gathering. Now it.
Is now it is that would. Be.
Weird. I I could see doing Sonic as
like a turn based strategy. But not an RTS.
Yeah, like you could do Sonic as like an XCOM.
Well, actually. See that?
Well, actually, technically that does exist.
Oh, really? It's not good.
Sonic in the Dark Brotherhood. Oh.
That is a turn based game if I remember correctly.
I feel like you could probably do it better.
You. You definitely could.
Yeah, 'cause that, that one, the music for that game was God
fucking awful. It was like you're fucking
choking a fucking keyboard. Oh.
God. Great.
Or whatever it was bad. That's wonderful.
It's on the DS by the way. Oh, that's why.
But there was good like the Sonic the Sonic Rush series
those. Those were good.
I actually remember Sonic Rush being really fun.
It is but Jesus fucking Christ the but like the second game
Sonic rush adventures that that game was fine but you having to
do backtracking and a Sonic game is real fucking weird.
Oh, I've never played that one. But it's not.
Don't let that discourage you. It is.
Both Sonic Rush games are great, yeah, and that's where they
introduced Blaze for the first time.
That is, yeah. Actually I was like, whoa, cat
character. What?
Yeah, but then she. Was second, you know, time
travel or something. Yeah, basically like alternate
timeline of yeah, instead of the Chaos Emeralds, it was like the
Fire Emeralds and there was a Doctor Eggman, but it was Doctor
Nega or something. I don't know.
It's like that kind of shit. It's.
Been so long since I played it. Think of like the the Crimson
chin and. The negative chin.
Like it kind of that type of thing.
Imagine the Smash Bros roster now with 7000 plus characters.
God. I wouldn't be able to play it.
I'd be I'd be like choice. Paralyzes.
Yeah, like it's fucking. It's bad enough when I'm trying
to choose a character and Smash Ultimate that's like 70
characters. Or Kirby.
Or an Animal Crossing village here.
Or God forbid. I play a Sora.
Play a sora AI. Sorry AI.
Wow. We don't talk about that.
God. You can play as a fucking one of
the many variants of Dark Knight.
Sorry, Mennonite. Yeah, you could.
Or Kirby. Yeah, Kirby, I mean that's
already kind of, but I'm just saying like there's there's some
weird variants of of Mennonite. Yeah, Yeah.
You know, we try not to talk about that.
It's. A good one.
Imagine Left 4 Dead but with RAID mechanics.
With portals. Jesus Christ, We're just we're
just complicating shit. Yeah, I.
Mean, to be fair, if this was one game with every single game
you've ever played put together. Yeah, it's going to be
complicated as fuck. It's going to be just a mash.
Yeah, but that would be, that would be something.
Yeah, that would be something. Well, it's a fucking online MMO.
Yeah, MMO love for dead. Oh, I hate that.
Oh, I don't. Like.
That a Resident Evil MMO? How would that be?
Or survival dining table a dining.
Room. Wow, look at this mansion.
Man, what a mansion. You almost became a Jill.
Sandwich. Oh, Barry, thanks for saving my
life. God the fucking.
Oh, oh, what if what if Resident Evil?
But it was like a what is it? Mystery Dungeon?
What if Resident Evil but it was a mining SIM You pulled her
punching? Asshole crash.
OK, but like you pretty much put any any weapon from Terraria
into any other game and you just win.
You just. Win.
That would be kind of nice. That would be nice.
That's like when you mod a game you just I win button.
Yep. Now, if you really want to get
into the need of nitty gritty, you could already see a game
like this already exists. Go ahead.
It's called Gary's Mod. Yeah, in a way, yes, that that
does. Make sense?
But then again, with the sandbox like that you can really do
fucking anything, so it doesn't really count.
Yeah, no, that's true. I mean get wrong.
I mean, Gary's Mind isn't isn't just a fucking game.
It's literally people have used it for like, film.
Yeah, yeah. You know, like.
I mean Gary creation, Gary's mod or a source Filmmaker 102.
Yeah, it's, I mean, well, that's how I think for a while.
I don't know if he changed but SMG 4.
That's how he made his videos. Was within Gary's mod which RIP
today was the last episode of. What was it of SMG 4 as a
recording? Yes.
Damn. Yes, he ended it.
Well. I mean, honestly, ten years I
think, or something like that. However long it's been a while.
You know what? But he got it out of he got a
lot out of it. Let me just go through this
pile. We have Halo 5 Guardians.
We have Gears of War Five. What is this Wipeout Pure?
But a strategy. Game do you do you guys know
what Wipeout is? I have heard of it.
Is that like a snowboarding game?
I think it's a lot like F0. Oh, it's one.
Oh yeah, one of those. OK, A.
Little big planet. Where's the Horizon?
A racing game? We haven't even talked about
racing games. But it's survival, you know?
Isn't that just like, what's that one?
It's literally. Dead Rising like Dead Rising.
No, I know what you're talking. About no, there's there's a
good, there's a game. I I know Mark.
I know, I know Markiplier played it.
It was like, no. Was it Markiplier?
You're literally in a car. Yes, and like if you go too fast
past the entrance like this car will chase.
After you, you got a car chasing.
Yeah, and it's a big old It's actually a fucking survival
puzzle game. Wasn't there like a like an old
lady off the side of the road too?
Yeah, yeah. OK.
Yeah. So we're thinking about the
same. Yeah.
I have no idea. Like like you have to turn off
your lights, you have to turn off your car's engine and just
idle. Yes, you have to like pretty.
Much just like 2. Miles an hour if you want to
sneak past. Yeah, and.
That exists. That's hilarious.
Yes, I forget the fucking name of it.
I don't even remember Bart played it.
I I. Watched a guy played called
named Drake ass play it back when I was big into watching to
him. I wonder if it was, I can't
remember his name. Oh, any of the Rare Replay.
Games. There's a lot of Rare Replay.
Banjo Kazooie, But it's, well, that's a plan.
Viva Pinata. Spyro reignited.
What is this? What is this?
Yu-gi-oh tag force? Oh, Tekken fighting games.
Viva Pinata, but it's horror. I can see that.
That actually would be. Kind of I, I mean with the, with
the like the things you can make in that game.
Yeah. Viva Pinata, but it's outlast.
Oh my God, no. Viva Pinata, but it's Saints
Row. Oh, that is such a good game.
I know the third one. I have Prototype 2 right here.
Yeah, I also have Bioshock. Oh fuck, you played prototype
Bioshock? I have not, actually.
Oh, you have not. I've been meaning to, Yeah.
Yeah. Same thing with Bioshock and
Bioshock two. Yeah.
Played Infinite. Yeah, but not.
Bioshock 2 I absolutely love. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare.
Yeah, a lot of people didn't like Bioshock 2, but at.
Call of Duty Ghosts. We have Call of Duty what I
wore. We have Call of Duty Black Ops
Call of Duty Black Ops 3. Wait oh God I remember that nerf
game. Nerf and strike.
Yeah, I remember we played it together.
There's also Nerf and Strike Elite, which Nerf and Strike was
better Here's. The other one.
Yeah, Oh dear Lord. We got Phineas and Ferb.
That's a puzzle game, actually, kind of like that one.
Think about Phineas and Ferb and that again.
That would be fucking horror. They.
Missed on aggression? There you go, Super monkey ball,
touch and roll. Bampo horror game.
You'll imagine a rogue. A rogue.
Like a rogue like super monkey ball that would.
What about no? What about Bioshock is a rogue
like that would be? That.
Actually, that's kind of. Like you can get like the
different like now. Are you talking about Bioshock
or BioShock Infinite universe? I was going to say like maybe
infinite with like the different like espers or whatever you
could get like you can upgrade health ammo or.
Whatever. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But the original Bioshock would be kind of interesting with.
That yeah, there's this. Oh, spore hero.
That's what it's called. Oh my God, you have a great
Sonic game right there. Sonic Color is.
Fucking good. Yes, I do.
That is the best way to play it. I need to get my hands on
another color copy of Sonic Heroes.
He played Sonic Heroes. I played Sonic Heroes I.
Played Sonic Heroes. Yeah, Sonic Heroes that.
Was like the only Sonic game I owned.
Yeah, OK. Yeah, I mean, I have a copy of
it for GameCube. Yeah, it's my original copy
from. Yeah, it was the only good copy
of Sonic that he owned, because the other one that I owned that
really turned me off from the series was 06.
Oh yeah, dot that well, God. Yeah, 'cause 'cause after my
parents separated, my dad somehow ended up with APS 3 and
he got 06 Sonic for us. Oh, you got the worst Sonic game
on the worst platform? Oh no.
No wonder. Jesus Christ, you and he never
liked Sonic ever again. Yeah.
You wanna you wanna know I? I even put in the effort.
I tried to beat it so many times.
I'm just like they. They just can't do it.
You. The camera angles, the fucking
shitty controls. You want to play Sonico 6 but in
the worst way possible. I I didn't think the game would
get worse. Yeah, no, that that, that
outside of having heroes for the GameCube, that was my only other
Sonic game. Oh no God, heroes.
Like it had its slippery controls and all that shit, but
it was not a bad game. Yeah, it was.
I still had fun with it. What do you mean you can't go
left? Man, you just touch the stick
just a little bit, like, you know.
I just loved how everybody was in a pillar and you can be like.
Oh yeah. Just fuck around with that
thing. I got and then fucking when
you're playing as Team Sonic and you have to use Tails and every
time he goes in here. I never cared for Team Sonic.
I always play this team Chaotic or team Dark.
I play like a little bit of everything, but that's why I
never got far into the game, yeah.
And at that point, like if you want the true ending, you have
to play all the teams because of the last story, which I think is
a combination of all the teams. I think OK, I think I, I, I.
Interesting. Or or maybe it's the final boss.
That's like AI feel like we're missing a genre, like a really
big genre. That'd be interesting to
combine. Sims and Outlast.
We keep doing horror. Why do we keep doing horror?
It's basically that you did. Sims is already a horror game.
What do? We do to them.
Yeah, really. No, there there is.
Yeah, there's another genre that's missing.
I mean, sports games, I don't know.
Nah. Arena shooters.
That's kind of. What we talked about with Split
Gate and Cody. It's it's kind of its own thing.
There's got to be 1 and talk about racing games.
Hang on, we're going to look this up.
What names? Let's see.
I was going to say here a shooter, but that's.
That's a shooter. Yeah.
Yeah, that falls under that umbrella.
Yeah, there, there's definitely one.
There's got to be like a gold mine somewhere.
Oh my God. I I was going to see a a Puzzle
City builder, but that's essentially that tile game that
you play. Oh yeah, Dorf romantic.
Let's see, I still want to get back into that.
A horror deck builder? How would that work?
That would be. Inscription.
Is it really horror though? I mean, it's got horror elements
to it, but I don't think. It's it's, I don't think it's
purely horror though. It's not like focusing and like
leaning in on the horror. It just has an eerie nature to
it. True, it's going on simile
nature, especially in the 1st. I mean like role like
role-playing games and action adventure like it's.
True. Like.
Then you start actually getting back into Fallout.
In a way. Where's my phone?
Oh, there it is. All right, Because I I have a
wide variety. I know you do with your 600
games over there. Maybe.
Maybe. Maybe fighting game?
Well, no, we said fighting. Game Where's my?
Where's my library? Fighting factory builder.
That's just, that's just Rift Breaker.
That's no, literally you're in a giant Mac and you're putting
like together like a factory. You have to spread out for
resources, but then every so often like enemies come up to
your base, you just have to shoot them instead of defenses
and everything. I guess that's also factorial.
Yeah, I was about to say factorial.
Although you could do like a factory PvP game.
Idol Games. Idol what?
What would you do then it becomes a non idol game.
I don't understand the point of idol games.
Like the point of playing the game is to play the game.
Send out the game, play for yourself.
Simulations. Like Simpson, yeah, Tower
defense, no, there's not really much you can do it.
Like it's just such a specific niche that yeah, once you spread
out a tower defense, like it's either like you're not playing
tower defense anymore. Or there, there's one here that
somebody put on. I want to know a weird
combination game that I played with my brother on the Xbox do
it. It was a tower defense racing
game. Well, he.
Played in teams of two, one person would be the driver, the
other person would be the turret.
The goal of the driver is to complete the race and try to be
as high in the leaderboard as possible.
The guide in the turret's job was to protect the driver as
well as sabotage other players. So there's stealth games, beat
em UPS, hacking slashes, souls like.
Oh yeah, I feel it's also like that.
That's that's a, that's a game genre that you can't really
mess. Around, I was going to say no,
you really can't do anything with.
Because if you want to do souls like horror then you start
getting back into they did literal souls.
Yeah. Dark Souls and Sakirah and and
then like Souls action adventure that's done with like Star Wars,
that's done with like other games.
Here's an off the wall one I just thought of.
Fucking go for it. Like Resident Evil, but it's
Tetris. Is Leon's face descending from
the sky? Yeah.
And then it's just clear. No.
And then whenever you stars, whenever you get the Berry
piece, once it hits the once it hits the ground.
Wow, a dining room. God.
Like I'm just seeing the same genres.
I'm not like. I mean.
I guess you could look at sub genres.
Yeah, probably. I mean.
Yeah, that's probably you could play around with.
One thing that peaks my is gigantic.
You know, You know what gigantic is, Brandon, because we're
playing. I'm not sure if you do Mark,
but. I think I played it once or
twice a day. It's like a hero shooter with I
guess kind of point defense maybe.
Like if you kill an enemy, you get 10 points.
If you take over a point, you get 10 points I think, or 20,
something like that. When you get 100 you can kill
the hero or the the whatever the.
Giant. Yes, literally maybe like that
game specifically with other games.
Board games True Magic the Gathering with the fakery game.
God, yeah. Party game.
Yeah, Party game, Yeah. And technically, like, well,
Sonic's already done that. A zoo tycoon with like specific
brands Or wait, what if like a zoo tycoon but like during the
day you run the zoo like just like.
Over the top, it's like five nights at.
Freddy's at night. You have to You have.
To defend yourself from the fucking.
Lions, but you also have to like, you also have to like
close down the, the, the zoo as you play.
Or like, it could also be like maybe like a puzzle game where
like, you know, you set up, you set up your thing and then
halfway through the game it just flips 180 and you're just like,
oh, can I have to survive what you just built?
You have to survive your own. Creation.
It's a Zoo Tycoon. Horror game yes and like you
have to like get all the animals back into their own cages and
whatnot they're. Like hyper realistic too, Oh my.
Fucking good. That would be cool, actually.
And that would be really fucking cool.
Yeah. And like, you have to like, set
it up a certain way so you can't just like have everything at the
entrance like super easy. Or if you, if you want to take
another step further, think of it with like Jurassic Park as
well. Yeah, yeah, that'd be
terrifying. Literally turned it into non
Jurassic World Zoo Tycoon. But like, literally you're
playing the old Jurassic Jurassic Park movies.
Well shit, now shit's hit the Fed and now I got to survive
this. Yeah, I don't really seem too
much else. I really hit the big ones, like
puzzle, beat them up, all that kind of shit.
Platformer. I mean the legality like you
would be paying fucking billions if not trillions of dollars.
What about eraser collect a thon oh?
Isn't that kind of just like a what?
What would do would do cars. Cars made international.
Oh, good point. Yeah, no, you're right.
That'd be pretty much like cars burnout.
Yeah, burnout. Yeah, that's another one.
Oh, some of them so well. But every, fucking just every
single game you play. Racing pirate game.
Like they would just be. Fucking racing pirate ships.
Yeah, fucking CFD style. Yeah, yeah.
Shoot. Each other and captain and you
can go onto each other's ships. Fucking.
Damn it, still a better game than scalding the bones.
Oh. I forgot about that.
Still a better love story than Twilight.
Our first quadruple A game. Down the shitter.
Down the shitter. Yeah, I was going to be more
interactive. I mean, it's been pretty
interactive, but I thought it was going to be more.
Portal Battle Royale. Jesus Christ.
Isn't that a thing already? Probably I.
Can I can see Fortnite implementing something like?
That oh God, that'd. Be too fuck.
That would not be good. I mean, basically with all the
movement items they had each season or like all the different
movement items they have. Yeah, yeah.
Do you imagine a portal crossover?
Of what? With Fortnite.
Oh, I mean. You.
Get to you, get to play as the fucking 2 sparks from 2.
Yeah, yeah. Or glados with legs.
Potato glados is a gun attachment.
Gosh. Man, this is a difficult topic
it. Really is I thought it was going
to be easier. Have they rejected but bouncing
off each other or whatever? There's a lot you could do, but
also not a lot that you can do that's good.
It's yeah, yeah. It's a topic that I don't know.
It's like this is one of those topics where it feels like,
yeah, you go back to the other ones and I was like, less is
better, less is more. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Less is more. Yeah.
It's just like. I like I pointed out, a game
that's made for everything is a game made for nothing.
You're not wrong. Yeah.
But like, just, and like, if we were to like, talk like
everything, there's just be like so much broken with it that
there be 0% chance, like a literal 0% chance you could make
this game balanced. There's nothing you could do
about it. Too many clashing genres, Yeah.
And then again, this is also just a what if scenario.
It's. This is not something that might
happen. Might, might is never going to
have there's like, even if it's not every game you ever played,
if it's like, like you said, every genre, yeah, it's just
like, what are we doing? And that's the story of all the
Earth 2 Point O games. All those like yeah or or or the
like one universe like mobile game that you just start to
string shit. Yeah.
Oh, don't. No, I'm not talking about those.
No, I'm talking about the Earth. 2 Point O games are like, Oh
yeah, you can own different things and our virtual Earth and
you can work in our virtual Earth and it's going to be like
virtual Earth but you can make tons of money off of it.
OK, I I honestly saw something like that where someone had set
up a website. It was like Earth two or
something like that. Yeah, you can just buy land for
like a dollar. Yeah.
And people were actually doing that.
The dude may ranked in millions. We.
Why? That is so.
Dumb. Like one, you're stupid.
Two, he's smart. Yeah, 3 this isn't a fucking
game. It's.
Just it's just you were buying effectively literally nothing.
Yeah. Man, it's like an NFT.
Yeah, that that that was around the time that these were.
You know, I'm thinking. Even more popular?
I'm thinking I want to play Fallout.
Yeah, now. Now he's on the fallout.
I just have so many games like I have to play mega bunk buck up
and drive Fallout 76 buckshot roulette.
I checked. I need I need to update my
drivers because it's like oh your drivers are garbage.
Oh yeah, some of that, yes, when the newer games bitch about it.
Which I never thought that buckshot roulette would be one
of those, honestly. Your driver must be old enough
to where it's doing that apparently.
But then I'm just like fuck you. Nope, that just continue
playing. You've worked before, you're
going to continue. To well, no, I can't even boot
it up. It's like, Oh yeah, you're
drivers, I'll show you guys. Want those?
Oh, oh, it's one of those, Yeah. OK.
Yeah, yeah, I think I had Doom. The Dark Ages do that.
I just have. I just got so many games this
fucking Christmas. I'm just I got like 8 games.
Yeah, yeah. That that's fair, I still have a
little bit of money left on Steam so I can go buy some other
shit before the sale ends. Yeah, sadly I didn't get a Steam
gift card like I usually do every year, but then again I
really didn't ask for it so Nah. I'm not complaining.
I got lots of good stuff from my Christmas.
Yeah, no, I got some. I didn't get a lot this
Christmas, but there just wasn't really anything I really wanted.
Yeah. Like besides the switch I don't.
I don't really want anything else.
I mean, like I I got a bunch of the cool small things, for
example, that heater that's going to come in handy.
Oh OK, I think it's nice man. God damn this room was nice and
comfortable. Oh.
Yeah, Yes, it was. Now it's cold.
Very. That's whatever.
Very cold, very Gray. It's a blue room, what are you
talking about? I don't know what the sun means
anymore. I I have no perception of color.
I'm. Not color blind for I do not
perceive color. Time has lost all meaning.
This is not how sure. I don't know what else to do
with this topic dude, I'm I'm going to be honest.
I'm going to be further. Yeah, I, I honestly thought
something because like this was, this was like something that
I've been stewing on for like, yeah, occasionally I'll think
back and I'm like, wait a minute, what the fuck?
Yeah, it's OK. It's OK.
It's OK. Not I mean just.
Generally, what are we excited to play now since we have all
these games from Christmas? Well, I mean, I, I, there's,
well, you y'all already know I don't have it yet.
It's not out yet, but I want that Resident Evil new one.
Forte or whatever the fuck it at the original.
Left. I think that I think that sound
Hill. Oh, that was sound.
Never mind. Yeah.
Which I have that, which that's another game I need to get back
into. Yeah.
That's just fucking no. I want to play resident World
Requiem I. Really.
Oh yeah. I want it.
I want it God damn it. I want it.
Me me want shiny new game. You just want this shiny new
Leon? Yes, Sir.
Yep, he start. He started good looking for 51
years old, that's how old he is in the game.
Yeah, I know. What about you, Mark?
Are you excited to play any games?
What games am I excited to play? I really want to play that split
fiction with him, yeah. I want to play that too.
I want to play 'cause I played. Oh, did you finally play It
Takes 2 with Shelby? No, not with Shelby, but I
played that with somebody else. I want to play that with Shelby
soon. With split fiction.
Yeah, Yeah. And then it's funny because
she's like, oh, we can put, we can play.
Once I get my PC I'm like but I have it for Xbox.
Yeah. Favorite unit?
Yeah, why not? Somebody excited to play.
I'm really, I'm really excited to play out last Trials with you
when I'm on Brandon. Yeah.
I know I'm excited to play Generations here with you.
Yeah, I'm excited for the. That's going to be.
I'm going to be running through WAR fields.
Yeah. No mainland.
That shores up Normandy. Some areas do feel like, 'cause
you're like sneaking around and like there's these gigantic,
like I'm talking building size Max around you.
Oh God, like some of them are just that big and you're like,
oh, oh, OK, OK. It's just scary.
And then, you know, once you get once you get alerted and like
they know where you're at, you're like, oh, and like just
fucking everything just comes right your way.
I'm like I told you, there's rivals too.
Yeah. It's like sometimes you get like
a little dinky robot that's like a rival, like, whatever, just go
shoot him, kill him. But then like you get like A2
legged Mac, which is one of the bigger robots.
You're like, why I gotta kill that?
That's my rival. Oh my God.
But if you leave him alone, he just levels up.
He. Gets harder.
Oh, great. Nice.
That's great. Oh no, Jesus Christ.
I'm not sure if you can get any of the like any of the
vertibirds or what are the flying guys.
I'm 'cause I didn't play enough during that time to get a flying
object as a rival, but. I'm excited for that Crash out
Crew game. Oh yeah.
Oh. My God, yes, I.
Forgot about that. I can't.
Wait. I'm excited to lock in.
I want to do so many drifts that my brain explodes, yeah.
Did they? When is that coming out?
Have they said? Last I checked, those to be
announced let me check my Steam wish list.
Yeah, yeah. Take a look at that.
But I, I am so excited for that. Yeah, honestly, I completely
forgot about that. Yeah.
I just, I loved health. Oh my gosh.
You need to do it again. Man, that was good.
That was like that. Yes, we do.
That that lock in for us was just awesome.
Yeah, I'm going to. I'm not going to look at eggs
the same way again. So it just says coming soon.
Damn it. OK, OK.
Well, we want them to make it the best they can.
I'm I'm excited for denture deck the fucking train.
Stupid game. What else am I excited for?
Oh, what about vulcanoes? I never were talking about that.
Yeah, yeah, I I've always been extremely interested in game
seeing, seeing the clips of it from early development.
OK. That'd be fun to play through,
probably after generation 0. Yeah, yeah.
We can work on that after that. After a year or two, guys will
be good to go. It's OK, we'll get around and do
it. I have a feeling if we like
segment like most weekends, we can.
Yeah, I'm sure you want to do some stuff with Emma.
Oh yeah, here and there some. Weekends, yeah, yeah, actually,
because we'll just play with the guys, yeah.
I don't know what else I'm excited for.
Well, I'm excited to get you through the rest of Renegades.
Well, that too, yeah. I need my lightsaber.
Yeah, well, that Pragmata from Capcom I'm actually kind of
excited for. That that does look interesting.
Yeah, there's a demo for it and I I played it.
I feel like the story is going to get real depressing real fast
if. Somebody touches a hair on that
little Android girl, I'm going to crash the fuck out.
I know I see something very fucking sad happening.
She's so adorable, I love her. But the gameplay is great 'cause
you you, you really want to hack these these enemies before you
attack them. Yeah.
Just 'cause you, you, you don't do shit to them if you don't.
Yeah. But I, I recommend playing the
demo. It's just in general, it's just,
it's cute where it starts. Yeah.
'Cause the little girl, she, I think, is it Diana, her name's
Diana. She's like drawing shit.
And you're, you're playing as, I think his name's Hugh.
And she's still drawing shit as these fucking enemies are, are
trying to attack you and shit. And he's like, what are you
doing? Jesus.
I but no I I think, I think it's cute.
Yeah, I think so too it. Really is I'm just I I I'm
curious on the the the story of it.
Yeah, 'cause. You're like, unlike some
abandoned space, place or whatever.
I call it it. It honestly feels kind of like
Death Stranding, but actually fucking interesting.
Yeah. I do have Death Stranding on
Epic games. I got that.
For the the the problem with Death Stranding is that it it,
it's all. It's so convoluted that it takes
up so much time trying to explain itself.
And you're just mostly. Not just in the cutscenes, but
in all the material you have to read.
Yeah, no, I mean that that's fair.
Yeah. But one of the things about that
stranding, I don't know if it's the first or second game, but
like I, I guess they do like a little cutscene for your
birthday, Happy birthday when you when you start the game up.
Happy birthday. Like I, I want to give Death
Stranding a try just to say I've done it, Yeah, at least try it.
But I don't know, it's just a weird game.
I definitely have the same thought, but I've come to the
realization I wouldn't have fun with it.
I'm, I'm feeling kind of the same way.
I mean, I got it for free, so I mean.
Oh yeah, fair enough. I kind of want to play the
forest with you guys. I'm not sure if I'd be really
into the forest. It's like it's a game that I've,
you know, watched, you know, Mark, whatever, but I've never
really cared for it. Like, do you like survival games
in general? That'll.
That'll. But you've got to like those in
order to do. That, yeah.
'Cause I know like I played which I want to get back into it
as well, but I want to play with somebody if I play it
enshrouded. Have you ever heard of?
That I've never heard of that one.
I've heard of it. Because I don't.
Patrick and his buddies have been playing it in a gorgeous
game. I have to show you guys that it
was pretty nice. But at the time when I was
playing it, I think I had my old computer and it ran like gawk
shit. It was pretty.
That 1080 was at its limit. I'm surprised I fucking did
survive as long as it did. Jesus Christ.
Yeah, I mean, there, there are, like, I want to get back into
like some of those survival games.
I, I I like those. I like them too.
I like them. A little bit of the edit
challenge. Yeah, that's why I'm like
waiting, which I have a feeling it's not going to come out that
one. Terminator Survivors.
Yeah. Yeah, I know.
They I think announced this like a year ago or something I can't
remember, but there have there has it.
From what I can see, there has been nothing about it since, and
I have a feeling it's probably not being developed anymore.
I have AI have a feeling, but we'll see.
I hope not like that would honestly that would be pretty
good. I mean, come on, Terminator is a
survival. Is a survival horror.
Game like, it's like having to go scavenge for shit, you know,
and build your base. Yeah, that kind of makes sense
with the the way the Terminator movies are.
Yeah, I think my thing with most survival games is that they just
make the game so fucking harsh. Like you have to eat like every
3 minutes. Yeah, I mean like same thing
with Yeah, Planet Crafter, for example.
Yeah, you have to drink. No, you have to eat food, show
off, drink water. Have you played on the harder
settings of that game? No, I don't care.
It is brutal. Yeah, he has.
I have everybody getting all the achievements.
Unless they had more, I'm done. Yeah, yeah, You know what I do?
I'm a little bitch. Fucking make everything as easy
as possible if the game lets me and I'll plant.
Crafter really doesn't let you. Yeah, it's just like it's just
annoying that I had to I think it was drink water like every 4
seconds compared to my food, which would like last few years.
I'm like why? Yeah and like that's what it
like that's what annoys me. It's like that I have to like,
go out scavenge or like even dying.
Like dying can piss me off. Yeah, yeah.
In any game, from Fortnite to roguelikes even.
Just like the inconvenience of I have to go back there to get my
shit just to come back to do what I was going to do.
Yeah. Yeah, I think for Planet Crafter
I made it so I don't drop shit. Now that takes away from the you
know. But I don't.
I don't give a fuck if I. If I knew about that option I
wouldn't care, but I didn't really didn't die too much
anyway. Yeah, and I didn't either.
So I just I. Hate that shit.
I died at the most inconvenient times on my single player
playthrough where I lost upgrade chips and I kneecapped my my
development earlier on. And This is why I'm a little
bitch. Yeah.
It made it easier. I really want to try to play Uh
oh God, what's it called? It's like really modded Halo.
Cursed Halo. Oh God yeah, with a with a
shotgun is just like veering off to the right.
You throw the grenade and it's a random effect every single time.
Oh you. How about curse forged?
No no no, this is cursed Halo. The rocket shoots backwards so
you have to point away from the enemy and hope to pray to God
that you shoot the enemy. Oh fuck.
Is or the pit The magnum? The Magnum.
Shoots you. Yeah, that shoots over your
shoulder, but if you game down sites.
See what the? Is this a mod or something?
Yeah, yeah. And the shotgun barrel is ever
so slightly curved to the right. So you have to like, here's the
center of your screen. Here's the Reddit.
Oh, you've got to like offset it and shit.
What the fuck is this shit? You Thor a grenade.
It has a random chance of doing nothing but just spotting trees.
Yeah, it's a, it's AD 20 grenade.
Basically. There's a chance of just like
instantly murders you were. So I don't remember.
What happens if you melee? You kill yourself.
I don't know. I don't know, that's why I want
to play it. But it's funny because the
cutscenes you can see Captain Keys be like, hold on, I'll take
care of it. He's got a bag and just kills
himself. Oh, that's right, I forgot
about. So wait, how do you how do you
go about getting this together? I think you need MCC on the the
PC. Oh, and you have to do like the
modded. Yeah, I think so.
But. And then then you, you, there's
a scene that you're you're riding in a car with Johnson and
he's talking about some random shit.
And he's like, I don't wish I do how to drive.
Oh, no. And she sings, Oh, no, you're
driving off the edge into the pit.
And if you're still in the car, you just instant wipe.
God, well, I remember. Just a normal fucking
playthrough. I think of Halo two.
Yeah, I, I, I let the NPC drive the warthog.
Yeah, apparently that is like a big don't fucking do.
That do it. And we went off the Cliff.
Have you when you played Halo Reach did you let Cat drive the
warthog? I don't think so, no.
OK, good. She's an awful driver.
Well, it's just the MPCS in general are bad.
I love and reach how she drives up to like a fucking Wraith sits
there so you can start shooting it and you just see the kid and
just aimed. Oh my God, she's got the, she's
got the survivability matrix of a fucking.
Lemming even though they're supposed to be like apex
soldiers over their. Legs, This looks like I'm going
to park it. Right here the MPC's doing
anything other than fucking shooting.
Which, God that's bad. No, I couldn't.
I literally could not believe that the MPC drove us off the
fucking edge of a Cliff. I'm sitting there dumbfounded
because this is the first time I've really let them do it.
Yeah. Yeah, and from that point on I'm
like, no, fuck you, you guys are going to be fucking gambling
bitch or some shit, man. No, Oh my God.
God, that was bad. I remember Halo being a fun time
as a kid. Oh yeah, definitely.
I we got I I played so much of all the like user created shit.
Yeah, I I played a lot of Reach. Sorry, Halo 4 as a kid.
I didn't have the joy of playing Reach.
Rage was good. Out.
I know I Reach is good. I remember like finally playing
Reach for the first time and just being like, wait a minute,
this is the Forge. Yeah.
Do we have Forge world? Yeah, and we have Forge Islands,
Yeah. On four, On four, you just had
the Forge Islands, but Forge World was the best thing in the
world. Like use idea.
What? Like wow, there's nothing.
So you can create anything. No, no, Too simple.
Yeah. It's a little too simple.
It's just fucking boring and open.
Oh yeah. Everything just takes a while to
fucking get to. Yeah.
But with Forge World, everything had its own landscapes.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The fucking hanger bee in the
side of the Cliff was awesome. Yeah.
One of my favorite memories is I, I, I forget what the fuck
this is called. I think I've talked about it
before, but it's like when you're you're trying to climb
this fucking like ramp, but as you're doing that, there's
fucking like trash and vehicles and chicken thrown at.
You avalanche. In a way.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, we're you have a guy
shooting stuff down at you and you're just trying to survive
the avalanche. Just trash coming down at you.
Yeah. Yeah, but but minus the person
shooting the stuff, it's all the math.
Doing oh. OK.
And there's a, there's a specific name for it, but I
can't remember. But man, let me tell you some
some of the time. Where I think it's like trash
compactor or something. Or something like that.
The times I've gotten hit by a vehicle and when you get, I
mean, this shit's going past you.
Yeah, OK. And when it smacks you, you rag
doll like a mother fucker. Oh my God.
It is, it is amazing the different things that you could
do with Reaches Forge mode. Oh yeah.
Like people made racing games out of it.
Yeah. Yes, there was so, so many good
memories of just doing so many different things.
Yeah. Yeah.
But besides Reach, I didn't. I also didn't mind Halo 3 ODST.
No, I I like that honestly, it has a good charm to have.
I played like 2 missions of that.
I'm like the first mission I'm like, I miss something.
Hooked. I love this.
Yeah, like of the campaign. I'm like, I, I wasn't, I don't
think it was exactly the first mission, but I'm just like, this
is this is fucking peak. Yeah.
Yeah, ODST was great. This this campaign might be
better than reach. Like God damn.
Like like the the narrative of so I like, I like to put Reach
and ODST as two separate parts, yes.
So like, ODS, like Reach's whole deal is showing you how fucking
desperate things were. Yeah.
Like like, like you don't get, you don't get that feeling in
any of their Halo games. Reach was like, you know, you,
you've played one 2-3 in ODST and you're like, OK, there's
nothing's ever felt hopeless. Never, nothing's ever felt like,
oh, we can't do shit about this until you get to that one point,
point in Reach where it's like slip space rupture detected,
slip space rupture detected, slip space rupture detected,
detected, detected. And then everything's just
downhill because you're fighting against a force of nature.
Now my question is because I didn't like, I really didn't pay
that much attention to Halo's war.
Yeah. But like for Reach, where the
hell is Master Chief at? So Reach's story is really
weird. So first, when we had the
original three games, we actually had a novelization of
the fall of Reach. And this is this is going over
the Spartan 2's back story. So this is going over how Master
Chief and his buds were all abducted by Oni and forcefully
modified into the Spartan twos and were used against
insurrectionists but prior to the war.
And then it jumps 30 years in the war towards where Reach is
about to collapse. And so in in the novel, Reach
collapses in like a day. So, so Master chiefs are
introduced to Cortana. They're going over plans on
kidnapping prophets in order to force a ceasefire to end the war
because humanity's on the brink of extinction at this point.
Most of the outer colonies are have already been glassed.
The inner colonies are in turmoil because UNSC does not
have enough ships to patrol and try to defend against Covenant
fleets. It it it is bad.
Humidity is on the brink of actual total destruction.
And so they get Chief united with Cortana for the first time.
They're doing test trials with the armor and her compatibility
with him and then the evasion starts and it's over in like a
day. Like you have, you have Master
Chief in the Spartan twos defending generators for the
overall Mac array. You have Chief Linda and I
think, oh Cal, what was the other guy?
I think he was his name is Paul. I'd have to check the Lori
again. They go up to wipe some NAV
data, all of the Spartan twos, like the majority of the Spartan
twos on the planet getting wiped in a single strike.
And the orbital Mac cannons go down and Linda's fatally wounded
Chief puts her in cryo sleep and they escape on the autumn.
So that's that's the initial lore that we had for that
planet. Then Bungie decides what we're
going to do. A game adaptation of Reach is
our final game for Microsoft. And this is where you have
problems with people saying like, oh, Reach isn't Canon
because it breaks the already existing law in the novel.
But that's not the story that they're trying to tell is so is
so they can they kind of write concept things to make Reach fit
into the overall narrative. So in the game with the game's
novel adaptation, Master Chief is still doing the stuff he does
in the novel, but a lot of this, the information about Reach
being under siege by Covenant forces is kept from him until
like, the day the planet falls. So instead of instead of it
being a single day that it takes for the planet to fall, it is
over the course of like a couple months.
So in the game, you're, you're not even playing as any of the
Spartan twos. The only Spartan 2 on the team
is George, which is why he's like 3 feet taller than
everybody. Yeah, you're playing as Spartan
threes. OK.
But but anyways, Chief is off doing the stuff he's doing in
the novel and you're working as part of the Spartan threes
because the the the story changes from Reach was just
encountered and wiped off the off the map in like the span of
a few hours to there is some initial Covenant insurgency
trying to find foreigner artifacts and they just so
happen to stumble on humanity's second most important world.
So the insurgency backfires. They call for help, you wipe off
the ship and you're like, all right, we can regroup and
refocus and prepare for a response.
Then the main Armada arrives and everything starts to go to hell.
Over the next two months, you start watching the rest of the
Noble team die and it culminates with you assisting the Autumn
taking off and escaping. And in the Xbox 360 version of
the game, there was a way for you to do an Easter egg at the
very end scene with the Autumn taking off.
I think you had to do some of your joysticks where you could
change the camera view to view Master Chief and Linda in
cryostasis as they're taking off.
Oh, shit. Yeah.
But it's essentially what they've done is they they made
two different narratives for the same thing.
OK. I mean, that makes sense.
Yeah, yeah. OK.
Sorry for taking up the rest of the time that explanation.
Yeah, don't worry. Yeah, don't.
Worry. No, no, we good.
Yeah. All right, it is time so.
All right, Mr. Ethan, do you want to see us off tonight, man?
Yeah, we'll see you off. Yeah.
Welcome to. Welcome to.
Oh my God, thank you. This.
This man needs some sleep. I do need sleep.
I'm tired. OK.
Thank you for listening to plug in for player for us.
We. US.
We us we thank you for an amazing last half year and we
hope to see you in the next one. If there are any games that you
got from games that you're excited about for the next year
and any gaming, yes. What's the word?
Resolution. No, we did that last.
No, that's last. I'm tired.
Yeah, the last episode. You see the steam, You see the
steam coming. Yeah.
Yeah, you want me to take over, buddy?
OK, OK. If you guys got any games you're
excited for coming out in 2026, drop them in the comments, leave
us a like and we'll get you in the next one.
Take care, everybody. He did it.
He did the thing.
Podbean
