Hello and welcome to Plug in Take. It away, Penny. Go on. Fuck you now you ruined it. It's done.
You know what the fuck is player for? Either of you or the player for. I'm your host, Ethan. You're not hosting this episode. Oh, I thought it was. I'm hosting it. I didn't think I started. I already. No, it's already fucked. It's already fucked. It's over there now. OK, I thought. You can bring it back. Listen, I can leave it. I can hear. Watch, you're a man that looks like he needs some fucking encouragement from time to time, and I'm here for that. OK. I'm coming back with it, Brandon. All right, here we go.
Dig it. What? The fuck? Dig it away. Come on. What happens? Because you put it. You said it's over there. I don't want it. I got it right here. Nope. Don't want? It you got it. OK. Well, well, you know what this you know what this is? You know what this podcast is? What's a podcast?
You dip shit. Who is this man? Who am I? Are you Brandon too? Like the last episode? Is there any other Brandon's? Yes, or you know where. Brandon's here. I had. I listen to that while editing, you know. That's really funny. And I'm like Oh my God I am so fucking loud. You get, you do get loud. I sorry a little too loud. Yeah, I know. You need to like bring it down for the podcast. Yeah, you need to stop yelling at people. I can't. That's my nature. Fair enough. No, I'm like holy shit, down a little bit.
My dumbass is just. Kind of weird. Just a splash. Just. A fucking 0. But since we got past the intro, the. Motherfucker's so loud you can hear him on mute. What? We were making a whole joke in the background.
Ignore us. Well since the fucking intro has died now it's like the God damn What do you mean from Family Guy? You're still doing it now. Yeah. Nope, not anymore. Oh, what do we? What do we be? Doing Hi, I'm Ethan. You guys know me. I'm Mark. And I like to play Rogue Lakes. I'm not sure if you knew that about me. It's been about cup brought up a couple times.
I like video games. I like video games too. What about you, Mr. Video games are great, yeah. They're one of my favorite hobbies. They're great, man. They're. Yeah, they're really great. They're. Fucking great, I like to weigh them. I can't take the serious with that fucking flank looking at me. Got planks over there?
Hey, it's plank. You want to hold on the plank. I don't want to hold on the plank. Maybe it'd be a good idea to for you to not hold on to Plank. What if it's the talking plank? Hey man, I'm punk. No. No, we have to hold plank to dog. Talking stick anyways Breed. Are you going to finish up that intro? It's like 5 minutes in. Nope. Sure. You ruined it. I don't know what you're talking. About man, I mean I can still host the episode not. Going to plug in for player four. Were you the VR Player 4? Yeah, slow down a little bit.
Nope, not slowing down. Kind of say it's like the 1 some. Of us had mothers that took Tylenol PM when we were in baby form OK. Anywhere. Anyway, that was kind of like the intro that I did the one time we're going to play for you, that we're playing for it, and it was clear as fuck. It was clear as fuck. In fact, I'm not really. Do I speak this up more? Fucking 300%. OK, all seriousness now, though. You better what we talking about. You've always you're constantly interrupting more and more as episodes go on.
I know, right? We're talking about horror games. That's what we're talking about. Horror games, but more specifically jump scares. OK, I'm good. Good, good. OK, now I'm good. You say I'm loud, so that's how I feel. You can't hear that. That's your wrist. I hope that comes up in the. Episode I'm like, holy crap you. Sound like you were breaking a chest on. Jesus. You OK? Yeah, I'm good. We're good. We're good, we're good. You're not even 30 yet. You shouldn't have arthritis. I'm. Almost 30. You're almost there, but you're not there yet.
We're getting there. We are all in our mid 20s. Your wrist. Well, yeah, we're all in our mid 20s, but yes, we're going to talk about jump scares. That got us. Oh, spooky, spooky.
Uh huh. I was scared. No, your, your. That's a lot different when you get scared. I know. We've all seen the cliffs. We're going to talk about it soon, though. We will. Yes. Yes, maybe, if we get there. Who wants to go first on this little journey? I vote Mark since he keeps wanting to talk. He seems eager. But. Did you? You interrupted at the very beginning. You've interrupted him in the middle. You've interrupted at the very end of the podcast, assumatively. And I got insulted by being loud. I'm going to keep bringing this up because it's fun.
Because it's screw. It's so fucking true. OK. OK, unless. You don't want to go first, I'll go first. I don't care. I guess I can start it off real nice and easy here. Introduce us in oh boy, most some of the most memorable jump scares that I've had that we have plenty of recordings of two or interactions with the Bracken. My God, lethal company. That's your nemesis. I hate it so much. Is man dude. Just today, there's no love hated. This relationship is nothing but pure hatred. The amount of times that like you guys pass each other or like look at each other and the next thing marked is just dead out of nowhere.
You hear a scream from around the corner. I'm gone. I. Remember that one time we were in the mansion layout and we were going back to the main lobby of the mansion and it the brag was behind him and it snapped his neck. Boy was that loud that time. Let me tell you, that was really loud. But you know, like and you see the bracken's eyes as he's going away with bark. I was like, I guess it's time for me to leave. Sometimes it sounds like Marks and the femur breaker from SCP containment breach. And I don't know what it is, it just seems like the bracket just seeks.
You out it. Seeks me out. The missile knows where it is. I need to ask seekers if you put on like a track or on my profile because the brackets always coming for me. I'm not sure why. I mean, there's the one bullshit incident where we get separated. There's a bracket and a coil head. You guys look at the bracken. I'm around a corner and trying not to get seen. The bracket comes around the corner, turns around, looks at me and was like, oh hey, you're here. Just kills me. Just have to be the same corner.
And that one time with the bracket with you, Ethan. Oh yeah. But it was behind him. We're. Both dead watching on hold. 35 seconds because I was trying to avoid looking at the center of the room because I was haunted by the ghost girl and yet I didn't know there was a bracket behind me. Yet for some reason it didn't attack for at least 45 seconds, way longer than it should have taken to kill me. That was so funny from our perspective. And then I saw it. No, then it happened. I'm like, Jesus Christ.
I generally wasn't expecting that.
Some of the combinations in this game can just screw you over. I was going to say the little girl and then the bracken. Like holy crap, that's one hell of a combination. And also is the bracken and the coil head. Yeah, that really. Yeah. You can't look at the bracken, but you got to look at the coil head, but you can't look at the bracken.
Or the inverse coil head, but we don't talk about that. That's that's that's from the muddy days. That has got to be my favorite clip that I got. Just Ethan to die around the corner. Just calling back into chick. Ethan dead in an instant. I'm like, oh. I know I screamed, but I you didn't even hear me. Screaming Did you hear Bush? And didn't hear Mark straight and I. Just my perspective, I'm looking at this. Fucking door. The door we just turned down that you can't see. What? The hell. Yeah, you're like, what happened?
Because like, nothing was coming your way. That that's the thing, yeah. Because the the the coil had the normal one anyway would have. Yeah. That was that. Was a huge fucking jumpscare. I shat my pants. My my britches were soiled. I don't blame you. That was pretty. That was pretty intense. How do you think I felt? I saw Ethan dying. I'm staring at a coil head trying to get into stop and it's. Just yeah, 'cause I was walking down the hallway, you know, and there's a rock tunnel as soon as I turn to look left dead.
It's gone, reduced to Adams. I didn't get a chance to react and. Then I go down that hallway and here comes the coil head and I'm looking at it, trying to like, why don't you stop it? And then, yeah, like, then I saw like the red eyes. That's what gave it away. I think it was like orange eyes and red body because it's just all covered in blood, yeah. And then that one time mean you mark in that like laboratory. Area. Oh yeah, we'll see you walk around. Yeah, there's two of them and they were, they were behind a door that was locked, but they sauce and they walked away and then we're like, it's OK now open up the door.
They immediately come back. Yeah, I remember that. That was. Fucked you turned around and you're like, are they still there? You turn 1 like centimeter too far and you were just. As soon as they're on your screen, they attack. It's dumb. It's but yeah, I know the I mean, we'll we're actually going to be talking about the coil head. My perspective because I say that's my I hate. That well, do do you want to take over now? You want to go ahead into yours. Yeah. Yeah, because this one's your nemesis isn't?
It yeah, every fucking time. Like I could be just in a hallway. Jack's usually the one that gets me like, you know, turn around, you know, 'cause he's sitting just right back, you know? But no, for, yeah, for me, the coil head has given me so many jump scares because I'll. You don't hear him at first, yeah. But then you just hear the you hear the running.
Yeah, his fucking head, man. You know there's a. Mod to like make him slowly look at you like just yes he'll be like that and he'll. Yes. Oh, I I. Yeah, I I tried that mod out. Fuck no. And yeah, like he'll.
You want to do it in VR? God no. Well, I should have put that on real quick the the the mask. I did see that in VR. Oh no. And I, he came out of, I think I was on Titan and he came through the fire exit and he running up and he looking at you and Sham like, well, fuck you hell. No. You would have a heart attack with a Bracken VR. God. Is he just? Because just seeing your hand like the hand just like. Yeah, you actually see it on your. Yeah. Yeah, I don't. I don't like that. I don't need that in my life.
Yeah, it is. There's that phasmophobia, I'm thinking no, more like the hands come off the screen. Phasmophobia is. Is that too? Yeah, but the bracken. Does it as well, but it's just so quick, yeah. But in VR, it's it's yeah, he would not survive. No. But you know, the, the, the coil head has definitely been the one enemy that's been such a bitch towards all of us trying to leave the facility. One person has to look at them so they can, you know, others can leave. And if you can get out in time before he runs at you.
Real quick I feel like if Mark were to have VR and yet scared in VR, fall to the ground and you would you would D level the foundation of the house. Yeah, yeah. You drop like a rock. I do drop like a rock. I have a brick of a man. Entire house collapse. No, no, just D level the foundation so the house is on a tilt. Here we come home. What the fuck happened? Can you? See, I can see it happening because I remember one day where I stubbed my toe on the door and I just decided to take out my frustrations on the House.
So I go to punch the doorway, not realizing that the door frame is metal. Oh. No.
Oh. Our roommate came downstairs and she's like is everything OK? That entire house just shook.
My wife was in the kitchen just thinking I'm a complete moron is I'm trying not to throw up with my hand on ice because I punched a metal door frame at full force.
I am so lucky to not break my foot. I'm surprised. I. I've punched like the the solid oak or whatever door frames. Yeah, those guys don't move. They don't move. I punched a metal. I know. That's. Weird. So the things I've punched were again, that fucking CRTTV. Like a dipshit. Who do you think's going to win, you know? The TV.
That hurts so bad. I've I've punched the wall, I've punched my door. The door hurt a lot. That door, it is hollow, but it's like kind of sturdy. So that that sucked. Have you punched walls? Haven't done that. Right elbow the wall. I'm afraid of winding up like Markiplier did. Actually, it didn't hurt. I'm kind of surprised that's your funny bone. Not so funny. I mean, it was, it was more so like on the beat in the back than the, you know, actual bone. Oh, yeah. So it really didn't hurt. I'm just afraid of winding up like Markiplier with a broken hand because he punched through the drywall into a stud.
Oh, you're gonna throw a chair?
I can't believe he did that. Yeah, the coil. Yeah, All right. So me. Yeah, Yes, you. Me. OK, so FNAF Security Breach. There's frankly a lot of jumpscares in that game, but there's one in particular that makes a lot of people shit their pants on their first playthrough. Map bot. We love map bot. You know, he just appears as like, here's your map. Take your map map, take your map buddy. Like just the way, like when, when you find, I'm not going to say when, but when you finally find him, just the where I'm like, here you go.
Like, hey. You look like you need some help. It just he materializes out of fucking nothing. It was funny because I was streaming this over Discord to Brandon and he was watching and he like he, he jumped out of his seat. I was, I was just like, oh, hi. Cuz it didn't really, it's not that I wasn't scared, it's just that I didn't, didn't register. Yeah, it didn't process it. Like I saw what was happening. I was like, Oh yeah. But you're so introverted that the jump scare of people doesn't register.
But no. The second time he appeared, that's when I shat my pants. Yeah, that's when it's scared to grab off. Yeah. I'm like, wow, the second time for me, not much, you know, we. Swapped a rope. Yeah, it. Was of course this would be the first time. Oh my God. Like how does that make sense? Remember. It just registers mine. It's like oh thank you I do need a map second time why? Are you here? Yeah. How'd you get my? House it was just like. Fool me once. Shame on what? You fool me, toy. Shame on me.
Yeah. Some shit, yeah. That that fucking that bot man. I got scared of it when I I or jump scared by when I was watching Markiplier play. Yeah, because I think. He thought that. Too. Well The thing is, I didn't know about this because I avoided security briefs like the fucking plague until I played it. Like OK. What earlier this year? Yeah, yes, yes, yeah. Like I just did not watch any video. I'm surprised that I there were I've only seen two things about it and that was like the the original trailer and like 3 seconds of a a national spiff video where he was like in the Monty, no, in the fascade with Monty Gator, like, Oh, Oh well, and like they're with the giant music man.
So like I was I'm sure would have figured out that he would have moved at that point, but still. Yeah, yeah. Fucking Monty makes me laugh when like when he's chasing after you because when he can't find it, hey little guy, I'm like, oh, oh. My I hate Monty. I don't like Monty either. I like Matt Bot more than I like Monty. I like the caution sign robots more than I like Monty. Yeah, just silently staring at you. Just. Well, it's funny. If you're far away enough, you know they don't look at you and then you can kind of like get around.
But as soon as you get close, they're like. OK. What are you doing? Here OK, but when you go into like the the back area to get like the level 4 key card with the endo section when you get when you grab the key card and they're all just like red eyes and like fucking staring at you all activating. Yeah, that's when it. Gets like that scared me, but I still like those endos more than I fucking like. Marty It reminds me of the one section of Ultra Kill when you're in rat and you go into the room and all of them are just steering.
Well, yeah, 'cause like there's this music playing like you're looking back, they're all staring forward or whatever, and then you put in the skull or whatever the. Skull, they're all staring straight at you. Snap and like the music stops I think. It's just there's no contrast between the white of them and the white of the room. Except for the blood on their bodies, the. Blood on their bodies is The only exception. Just Oh my God. And then? You get into the one room and they're all like that one Legend of Zelda like that.
Yeah, and then they start crawling at you like, Oh my fucking God. Yeah, you walk into the room like nothing and then just fucking just like throwing right towards you at Mike for. Jack, Jack was so happy when he witnessed me playing that level.
Jesus fucking Christ. Just a complete departure of all the other enemy mechanics. Just oh, you crawl. You're. Super fan, but here's the thing. At. This point you see any type of.
Mannequin and you just know they're going to move. They're going to move, but you don't expect to. Move like that. There was only one game I played where mannequins didn't fucking move and there was a mannequin centered part. There was like a it was called control. And like this is off topic, but like there's like this one like really big hallway section where you go to the end and like there's this like there's just this view past it, but you there's like a hold XI was playing on control on Xbox.
But like hold X to interact with this mannequin. All of a sudden there was like 10,000 different mannequins and you had to find the right one. So I'm sitting here like, Oh my God, all these mannequins are going to move. Are you? This is like an actual like fighting game. So I thought I was going to have to like use powers and my guns to fight these fuckers. Nope, all you had to do was just find the right mannequin hold X and you're done. That was. It. But but like, their world also got like twisted and warped while you were here.
It was. It was. Crazy God. So I wonder if I'm right on this so that that game control, is it like you play like a like a lady? Yeah, you play a lady. OK, Yeah, I see. It's it's pretty much SCP the game because like there's there's a whole bunch of different things. Like there's a there's a fridge you have to stare at and if you look away then you get teleported inside. But that's because there's a beast inside of the fridge. It's a side quest, but like there's a whole bunch of different, like just anomalous things going on around there.
See, Patrick played that it. Was it was fun. I kind of it was like wanting to try it because I know like I say, he's got it physically on PS-5, I think. So I'm like. Yeah, yeah. It looked interesting and you said you finished it. Yeah, I'm pretty sure 100% of it. I could be wrong, but I did not. If not, I pretty much did everything based game. I think there's a DLC for it now, but I didn't think so. If there's a DLC, I did not do DLC because that was like after I finished Yeah, it was very fun. I would highly recommend.
I'll have to try that out. I like to recommend the demo I think. There was even some jump scares in there but I can't remember. If not, not too many. I wonder if you would consider that kind of a horror game in a way. Maybe like a psychological game, it's. There's definitely psychological parts. Because it's not really full blown horror game. That's not no, not at all. But like there was, like I said, the mannequin like there was, it was like a like the top half of a mannequin and like the bottom half of like a like a scooter.
Like just like, is it going to look like the Goblin from Hell from Hellboy 3? I have never watched Hellboy, but it's just it's just like a top half mannequin, like the torso with like the arms. And then like there's no legs. It's just a stand and then like wheels on it like that kind of mannequin. Yeah, OK. I believe I could also get my memory mixed up. But going back to the topic jump scares. I guess it's my turn. I guess so, yeah. All right, yeah, You guys know how I'm talking about Dead Space, like, so many times on this podcast, right?
Yeah. So there's one jump scare that got me so well as a kid because I wasn't ready for it, and that it still reverberates every time I play the game. So at the very beginning of the game, in one of the few hallways that you kind of go through to start going into the different areas to get parts and stuff. I think it was an engineering. You're going through and starting to find the the train parts. And there's a very specific hallway you have to go to. You have the way to go on the right, but if you go to the left there's some stuff you could potentially get by exploration.
And if you go left, there really isn't anything there but a locked door. But as you approach the locked door, there's a dead necromorph on the ground that instantly lunges up at you. Oh. Fuck that. Fuck. As a kid, this freaked the hell out of me. I can. Imagine my controller going up in air. You, your arms going up in the air, your legs running faster than you like. Mom, turn the console. On It's too scary because you have no time to react to it. It's just it's up and it's already attacking you so you already had to deal with it.
God just instantly like 2 seconds from laying down position to upright and trying to slash into you. That would get me. Yeah, it would have gotten. Me it it was so bad that even now when I'm playing if I play the remake, I remember that specific hallway. It is burned into my memory and I I always like, oh, it's this hallway, I'm going to go right instead of left because I know that stupid fucking thing is there. Is there anything left? Well now, is there anything to the left besides that? Like I think there was like a a suitcase you could crush but nothing really important.
So not really worth. It yeah, it's typically it's supposed to be the way you come back from because the the the whole area itself is a big loop and you come back out you will lock the door and you go back out the normal way. But whenever you come back, I don't remember if if you don't kill it, it's still there. I think it's just gone. So if you go around normally it's it's just not there, so. You'd never know. Yeah, the fuck. OK, yeah, but a big, a big emphasis, especially in the the remake, is to explore around and try to find stuff to help you out because, you know, everything's hard to come by.
Yep, fair enough. Especially the harder difficulties when you don't have shit and everything's so expensive. Yep. Yeah. I understand that. Yeah, but the single fact that even after, oh God, it's, it's been what, almost 20 years since that game came out? I think it was like O7O8O8. Yeah. Christ, even like 20 years down the line it's still, I remember vividly that hallway. And they've been developers, achieved exactly what they wanted. They achieved exactly what they wanted was to make it extremely fucking scary.
It's a great, it's a great game. Yeah, it really is. All right, I guess. Brandon, do you want to take over what you got? So I was telling Ethan a little bit about this one. So this is, funny enough, the Fallout 4. There is a a certain house, if I remember correctly, that when you go in it by the bed, there's something to pick up. Yeah. And when you go over to this bed, pick up the item, about a second or two later, a huge rad Roach comes out from underneath the bed. And I remember on my motherfucker, like, you know, this fallout isn't really scary.
Yeah, it's. Like it has it's horror elements but. It's not, it's not a full on horror game. It's more of just oh it's like Skyrim but if you naked everything. Pretty much, yeah. Yeah. But I remember falling for that again. Oh my God. Like, like how I was already here, like, you know, no, same fucking thing. Word, you know, comes out and God damn it. It walks under the bed. It's like Bonjour. And my fucking gun, man, you know, killing it. What's crazy is that you play this game a lot. Yeah, I know, and that's one fucking thing I barely just don't remember.
Like at the moment you're like, oh, I don't remember this. Something I can actually equate this to that I've played recently is Yoga's Island Express. There's a plot twist in there. I'm not going to say what it is, but I completely forgot about it. I'll put like right until it happened. I'm like, Oh my God, that's right. That does happen. I'm like I I was, it's not scary anything. But like, I was just floored by the fact that I forgot about, you know, such a crucial plot twist in this game. I don't understand how the hell I forgot about that.
Granted, I played it like four or three years ago, something like that, but still. Yeah, yeah, you just. It was so fucking dumb because yeah, there's something there you pick up. There's a skeleton there too. And yeah, that's just foreshadowing. Yeah, apparently. God damn, man, I I couldn't tell you how fast I paused the game after that because man, like it was bad. Oh. I can I can see you just scrambling for the escape key. I mean I play with controllers, sods are. God damn it. I was so mad. I'm sitting there.
Screens pause. God, what? What is this, you know? Oh God do I want to fuck about the other one since it's Fallout 4. I mean, it falls under the umbrella I guess. Might as well. This one sucked. This one actually Really. It made me stop playing for a little while. Oh, really? Because it was not to the point, like not because of being scared, but being kind of disgusted. Body horror. Oh yeah. Oh no. But not with people though. So the the DLC Nuka Cola are like Raiders or whatever the fuck it's called.
I forgot what the hell it's called. Nuka World, I think. Nuka. World, I think. It's yeah, I remember. I remember Jared playing it. Yeah, OK. There is a area you go that's like kind of like western themed, you know, Cowboys and all that shit, you know, and you have to help get rid of these things called bloodworms. And they are these huge ass fucking worms that just randomly pop out of the ground. Oh no. Lunge at you, OK. And this huge, open, gaping mouth of teeth, you know, it's kind of yeah. More like a lamprey.
It's yeah, that's what. I mean, but so you have to go in this mine, OK, Yeah. And there are in some areas cow corpses. And. When you get close enough, the blood worms completely obliterate the cow busting out of them. And it is loud. It's that's startling of itself. But then you have 5 or 6 of these things coming out of the thing coming after you. But what really got me was again, it was a cow carcass. But there were probably 10 of them. Oh, no. And in this huge open area and I go walk up and it explodes.
All that come out. And I remember going, I don't fucking like this, you know, like and verbally. And I'm in power armor, so, you know, I'm fine, right? You know, but no, they're easy to kill. It's just there's so many of them and it. Takes a minute. Yeah, just dramatic experience. It was. And the worst part? I didn't even have headphones on. And it still. Scared you? And it's, yeah, because the noise is so loud, button startling when they come out of the corpses is what gets you. And it's, and it's just, it's a really distinct sound.
Like if they were going for like horror in that they achieved it
because yeah, after that I remember getting out of the mine and you know, I finished the mission and I'm like fuck this game. Because the the fucking problem is, even when you get out of the mine, some of them are still there. Oh God. I'm like game, I hate you. So I love you. So I stopped like I stopped. Playing this company sucks. Yeah, I, it was just the disgust, you know, of this because it was nasty. And I'm like, I know this is Fallout. It makes sense, but at the same time I don't know they I don't want to say they went a little overboard.
Yeah, yeah. But I, I don't, I don't know I and the only other thing that I'm can't even come close to this is the blood bug. Yeah, but that one was fun. I hated those things, but it was funny. Just giant mosquito. OK, that's not unsettling. Well, the the way I fucking saw it the first time, it was really fucking. It was, it was actually pretty funny. I'm like I'm by sanctuary and I I walk over this town and whatever I. Got. La, la, la, La La. Listen to the radio, you know, I'm all happy and shit, you know, see this house over here, I'm like, oh, whatever, They've got shit in it.
I'm getting closer to it. That door just opened. What the fuck, you know, So I'm thinking, oh, probably ghoul or something, you know, come. In. Come in, come in. And then all of a sudden, this blood bug fucking flies out of the house. I'm like, what is that? And it's coming over, you know? And then it I'm like, you know, fucking flipping out. And then it does that, like, special animation where it stabs you. Yeah. And I'm like. Oh my God. You know that. That was sort of my reaction when I played New Vegas for a little bit.
Seen the Pegasus or or what? What that that mutated thing with the multiple bodies in it? Oh fuck. You know what I'm talking about. I Yes. I can't remember that, I thought it was Pegasus, but I think. I'd have to look it up, but I I think I know what you're talking. About yeah, yeah, I but like, I was playing New Vegas for a little bit just because I I was like, oh, I wonder what, yeah, my brother plays these games a lot. I wonder what's going on with them. I just see that I'm like, what the fuck is that?
Fallout is. It has some pretty good body horror. Yes it does. They definitely know how to do that. Just man, the blood bugs, they still freak me out. Too Honestly this is kind of a jump scare too, but I remember in Fallout 76, like not really in jump scare, but it was to me in Fallout. Then mind you, this is the first and only Fallout game of play. I mean, not barring the 2 seconds of New Vegas. I blame, yeah, there's this town, like pretty much right near the beginning where there's like trailers kind of, you know, around or whatever.
So I go, I go on one of these trailers and I'm looking around trying to loot some shit. All of a sudden I turn around and like there's this like this tiny room inside this RV or whatever. I turn around and there's this another tiny room inside is just a 2 headed cow looking at me. Sweat and take out my hammer and start waiting. Eats a brobbing to death because it scared the shit. I'm like. What the fuck is this? I'm so. My. Fucking girls. Like it was too like inches from my face. I could see that.
Yeah, he just looked at, he was like you are in a front to God in his creation. Well it's like, you know, when you think about it, you see a 2 headed cow, you know, like. In a game where everything's trying to kill. You yeah, fucking put it out of his miseries. At least take one head out. We'll see. I still, I, I still feel bad killing them for challenges. Yeah, because there are challenges. You have to kill them. Yeah, now, now that I'm just like, but like when I first saw and I didn't know what a Brahman was and I just two headed creature killed it because like I I just the way it was set off.
That's what. That's what does. It all of his creation. In the tiny RV, you're. Yeah, it was just staring directly at me when I turned around. Yeah, like that's that. That is how you set up a job scare, even if it's not intentional. Yeah, really. How? How was your first interaction with the Death Claws, by the way? Oh. Yeah. I I mean there's that one Death Claw cave, but I don't think that was my first interaction. Yeah, I think, I think we just randomly encountered one. Yeah, because. There was like 3 of them or so in that death claw cave.
Yeah, I think. Oh God. I can't remember, yeah. We just encountered one on the road and we were like holy shit. And I'm like, whatever, but yeah, I think the first one we kind of just beat the fuck out of. Yeah. And this is like kind of when I was starting to form my melee build too so. The it's funny, the death clause, how different they are in modern Fallout than when they were and let's say like New Vegas. Oh yeah. Dude, they were forces of nature. The thing was you had to be prepared, Yes. And the problem was, you know, me being someone who likes to explore also.
We'll get back on top again in a second. Yeah. There is a specific cave that has them in it. And the problem, there's got to be at least ten of them. Yeah. OK. And the, The thing is with New Vegas, even if you know, you know, loading, OK, you load up the, you know, if you, you leave The Cave, it loads the, you know, Mojave. Well, they don't stay in The Cave. They come out. And I remember not knowing that. So I guess this could be a jump scare. And I was not prepared. And I just, I'm hearing something running at me and I turned around and was like fucking 60s bastards fucking like, Oh my God, just slash, slash dead, you know, and then the fucking, the fucking music when you die.
I'm like what? You know, So I have finally cleared that out though yeah, it took me a little while. Even with having better armor, it's they still beat my fucking ass and they're hard to kill. They are not like the death claws you see in Fallout 4. Oh God no. Thanks but I still like the video of the one guy that had just fist fights a death claw like. In power, I went to Death Claw island in 76, yes, where I think there's an alpha Death Claw. Yes, and I still took it out. Pretty. Yeah, there. That's where I'll go for the challenge.
Like I took a buff whatever, whatever the buff is like buff out or yeah, yeah, buff out, buff out, whatever the like the the strength enhancer was. And I just wailed on it until it was just like I didn't even have to like heal my armor or anything. I don't know if. He's just already he's gone to town swinging. Yeah, they're just not. That's intimidating now. Yeah, I wish they were more scary. But I mean, I guess Fallout 4 if you were to encounter one very early, that would suck. Bart, the Scripted 1.
Besides the scripted 1. Yeah, because because that one, you're meant to just feel overpowered in the new armor system. Yes, basically get you to understand how the armor works. Yeah, because going from like New Vegas and well, three and New Vegas to 4. The power. Armor is. Different because the power armor in the older games was just a. Another version of clothing. Yeah, that had higher armor stats. Yeah, that was a good. One because in in 4 they did the frames. They started the frame system where?
Yeah. Power armor is EXOS is an exoskeleton. Which man I got so. Many anyways, let's let's. Who's going next? Me pick me Mr. Ethan, what do you want to talk about? I want to talk about the Yaron incident. Oh no. So. So this is our first non horror game in any way shape or form. Me, my friend Mark and our mythical 4th friend Brandon. No, not Brandon Jack. Sorry. How about you say I wasn't in this shit? You're not in this. I'm not in this. You weren't even in the friend group at this time. And so Yaron is in Terraria.
It's in. Calamity Mod. Calamity mod Terraria and it's one of the more end game bosses even for calamity add on. Yeah, we're we're all in the jungle trying to fight this hard as fuck boss, and I think all of us die. I I. Died first. Yeah, you died first. There's like a 2 minute cool down. Yeah, 'cause they increase the timer from like 15 seconds to like a minute for some of these, for some of these Calamity Moss, Yes, 'cause it's like we don't want you to like just constantly spawning and like winning that way.
They're. But you actually have to try. They're also still hard as shit but yeah I know Mark is still at base. I think I just barely spawn in and like Jack is like. Jack just died. Yeah, but he's also someone said it's the literal meme of why do I hear boss music? Because we were all in our under underground base. I remember it was me that called it out. I'm like, hey guys, should we still be hearing boss? Music and then I spawn in. I checked the map like I pressed M to bring up the full map. I scroll over or zoom out one of the two and I just see this head of the boss.
You know the boss icon? Just go. Right through the center of the base yes and this this boss is huge too. It has a huge hit box, very. Big. And I can show you the screenshot of what the the base look. Yeah, what the base look like. Okay, everybody was. Obliterated. This is my story. This. Is this story? So yeah, I spawn in, I run out of invulnerability, and then Yaron just comes in and kills all but I think 3 NPCS. You see the chat fill up with all these people died. There's like 20 seasons this time.
We were even playing during Christmas, so I think we had Santa Claus at. Yeah, we did too. Oh. My God, he killed Santa. He did. Just the entire base. Gutted I'm sitting there 'cause I suppose survive. I'm like, Oh my fucking God. And he's just like, OK, so yeah, we failed the boss, whatever. I don't know why this boss comes from damn fucking town. And all the way, like halfway across the map, 'cause we're in a large map, the jungle's like all the way bum fucking. I have a chest train to get the ammo and stuff 'cause he's trying to reload.
Yeah, he's like, OK, all right, I guess. Like, I'll guess I'll prepare for the boss. For now, we'll just spawn him again. I just spawned back in and, you know, Jack just died. So I'm like, all right, we're all off screen. He's going to despawn. There's no point in me trying to go back. We'll attempt this again the next day. Ethan just spawns back out. I'm like, Ethan, why is there boss music still? Oh. My God it. Lags out for a second because like, everything fucking explodes. I like. I've got I've got questions.
It's like a trade went through the whole base. Literally, and I think I think this is I think Calamity mod goes with the rules of Bass Terraria where if a boss goes outside of its habitat it gets harder. I think it. Could be wrong, it just finished just. It polished us. I got, I got questions here. I got I I, Oh my God. I didn't I have never seen this in base Terraria, I have never seen this in Calamity and I have like at least 1200 hours across all consoles and systems that are played on. So this boss.
Is this like a final boss or some? Shit, it's the very end of the clinic. Boss towards the end. Yeah, it's like now it's probably second the last boss, if not still the last boss. The reason? He didn't attack. The reason everybody died is because if you if you touch the boss you are taking contact damage. So he just went through all. That, but the boss went from where you guys were fighting it yes, to your base that quickly. Yes. Oh my. Fucking. I mean, it still took a while, but he got there. Pretty fast.
I know you're still due to Terraria, but welcome to Terraria.
I wouldn't shit myself. This is the game we're trying to get you to play more. No, I, I mean, that's fine. Like I'm, I, I, I have been liking it when we have played when you play more. But yeah, we do need to play more. Fucking see it in my head happened. Yeah, that's hilarious. It's all from the right side of the screen and everybody's dead in an instant because like, because it's like a train just went through the entire. Here's what usually happens if everybody dies and you're way the fuck away, the boss will usually just like, go away, despawn.
The only other boss that does that is Plantera, now that I think of it. Maybe I have cut through a little bit, but I'm not sure. I've seen, I've seen I have cut through 2 will come back like from you know almost leaving from VFV. But. But I mean, there's also Wall of Flesh, which will just proceed on the entire world. Yeah, he goes through the entire world. Oh fuck that. He goes one clean sweep. Yeah, until you kill him or everybody dies and he despawns, or you reach the end of the map. Yeah, OK, OK.
Oh my God that is fucking nuts. Yeah. Motherfucker killed Santa Claus. What an. Asshole. That's where Brandon's all hooked, but still. Not. The fact there was like a train coming through and just like, Oh my God. I am about like about that because that sucks. Yeah, the fact you guys had Santa and he's fucking dead. It like it like took another couple of in game nights to get everybody back. It was so many gone and yeah, just so many lost. Cause day would have happened and I'd be like. Just a couple throughout the day.
Yeah, it would just be like, oh, party girls bags. The the the werewolf is back. The painter is back. The the techno bitches. They come. Back. No, they do, they spawn during the day. But it it it was enough to take a couple in game days for everybody to return. I will say it was very funny the first day, like the first actual day where it's just like, oh like MP, all the NPCS just keep spawning in. Because in my. Because I've never seen so many NPCS spawn in one day. In my brain I was thinking like when they are dead, they're dead.
That's. It no, no, they they respawn, but they're they're doing PCs, so they have new names. OK. Yeah. So so that's why with the guide and you use the guide doll, voodoo doll and the fire to spawn while the flesh, that's why the guide respawns. OK. So yeah, so you can use the Voodoo Guide doll again to spawn while the push again. OK, All right. I don't know why. I thought, like with Calamity, that would be one thing. Like you lose. Them that, no, no, that'd be horrible. Because that would really fuck the game up.
Yeah, because a lot of equipment is locked behind some stuff that certain vendors have. Yeah, especially the goblin tinkerer. Oh my God the ability to read forge items is so good. It is. Granted, you he'd fucking eat your money sometimes. And did you guys have to like rebuild the base? No. He didn't destroy the. Base. It doesn't destroy the base, but it's just everybody explodes into a red mist. I don't think there is a boss that destroys blocks. No, there are. There are no bosses that actually destroy blocks.
They just move through blocks. Yeah. And you can only hit him unless you have like a summon or something. Like that I think there are some wave type encounters where some explosives do like minimal block damage but it's just it's not like a a boss will actually destroy your blocks. See man, it's not like Minecraft where a fucking creeper blows up half your fucking house. Yeah, yeah. So. That's actually kind of nice. Yeah, I'm not going to lie. Like. Holy shit, and like there have been times in Bass Terraria where we know we're playing and a boss like we all spawn, spawn back in, but like we're fighting right outside the house.
So the boss just like kind of is slowly because it's not like instant fucking death like Yaron is, but slowly just kills like some of the NPCS. And so the guys get out of the house and the NPC stop dying. No, this one, there was no fucking chances. Just. One sweep through, everybody's gone. I just I have. Ethan, the dire left stunt, it's about a carnage. I just have the image in my head of what like what happened, like it just my imagination there. It's running. It's also running wild because you have no idea what yarn.
Looks like exactly so to to paint you a picture, it's basically like an orange dragon and we're basically fighting the sun God. OK. That makes sense. Yeah, OK. Or a fire God, something like. That it's just funny. I just see it in my head like coming. Exactly what happened?
You know, killing. Ethan and I have PTSD from that moment. Like, literally. Literally on your screen it was just, and like everybody said, that's how fast it was. I'm just trying to recollect myself as it comes back for a second pass on Ethan and I have. Been flipped out and then start laughing. Oh, that's what we. Did. After the realization, citizen, we're just laughing hysterically because we're like. Oh, that couldn't believe what just happened. Oh my. God. It it, it could have been medicated if we had, if we never did like the apartment style bases.
OK. But here's the thing. This was before pylons were. Yeah. Then calamity. Yeah. Yeah, because. So it's just beneficial to have all the NPCS in one area, yeah. Because there there wasn't any. Like there was no mood system or pylons. There wasn't any reason to build sensitive. Things everybody could just be a big happy family so why not just have them all with your chest and your crafting table yeah it makes. Sense you just have your main piece at spawn and then you just go into the world to go do things.
Yeah, I mean that that's smart. Yeah, there was no way to fast travel. So it's like, why would I keep everybody separate when I could just have a centralized base? Yeah, yeah, no, it was just watching the entirety of the top half of the base just get decimated. Just seeing. Fucking names of everybody who just fucking. Yeah, literally red. Just red. Red over top of the screen. That's that's just really fucking fun. Yeah, you know that image from the SpongeBob movie where they're just sitting at the at the Abyss Cliff edge?
They're just their mouths aren't deep. Yeah, that was us. That's what happens.
Oh my God. So is this what I have to expect when we fight this? Thing. Probably not, but never say never. Never. Say never because. I know I kind of want to see that happen. I. Hope you, I hope you forget about what we just talked about with it by the time we fight it and you don't know well. Here's the thing. We. Probably gonna. Predict. Well, yeah, 'cause we still have to get their Calamity. We're only in. We're just, we just got into hard mode. Yeah, we just got into hard mode, Yeah. And then we're gonna have to replay Terraria while with Calamity in the background.
Yeah. And then get Yaron. Which is it's gonna. Take at that point, that'll be just calamity at that. Yeah, yeah. 'Cause we'll know about it, but Brandon will forget it by that time, 'cause he still is a lot to. Get. I've never forget. I still picture like the map like the. You know, I see it in my. Power base and then you're on way over here. Just burned into my brain. Just the picture of this like giant sun demon just boring through their houses. I just remember just feeling so floored be like this thing came back for seconds.
I think I spotted. I was panicking. I was like looking at the house and just. Like the house that got blown up by a nuke. That's that's funny. Ain't no fridge saving us in that one. He really was a force of teach. He basically told you sit the fuck down, cake. I Whoa. A lot of bosses will do that. Yeah, that's funny. Yeah. I mean, well, they're. Bosses, I remember what the universe destroyer like the the ultimate snake yeah yeah, I know that was like pretty much the first difficulties bike yeah.
As as soon as you leave base Terraria bosses and start getting to the true calamity bosses, it jumps up from like your upgrade. All right, so you're at like 7 with regular Terraria. You're at 15 now. Yeah, you're upgrading after every boss. It's a logarithmic curve. It gets harder and harder, So harder. So calamity or calamity would be considered a like hard mode. Of it's a hard mode of the hard mode and. Also it's the quality of life too. Quality. There's a bunch of quality plus like there's a new they balance like 1000 different item, maybe 2000, I don't know.
They add in like 15,000 items. Yeah, they add in a lot of like, I'm talking like they balance like base game items, but then they also add their own items. So it it it just kind of really sounds like you shouldn't play bass anymore. That's what they. I wouldn't say no, No, they, they. There's reasons to go back to bass, and that's just to have the true. Terraria. Terraria experience as well as it's all it's always getting final updates so I. Mean and that that's yeah. We're on final update #15 here, so I. Was going to say that #15 yeah.
Oh OK, they're saying final update but never is really a final update. Yeah, they just the first. One was going to actually be a final update, but then they just kept going. So everyone's just like, OK. All right, fifth final update #15 can't wait for the next. One what people were talking about, like since there was going to be the final update, how they're going to, I think that was 1.4 point 4, right? It was because the isn't that when they added the golfing the golfer. Yeah, yeah, 'cause they're like, Oh yeah, it's a nice little send off to Terraria because we've been making it for so long.
Yeah, they were like, Oh yeah, like Terraria tours, like in the like people were talking about like, oh, maybe they'll be able to do that. But now it's just like the. New final of. Tour 11/12/13. I was gonna say I'll. Top it, it just keeps going. I wonder if it really needs a sequel I. Don't really. Yeah, I don't think it's, I feel like it's better as a one off. Yeah, I mean, 'cause that's like how I feel with like, Minecraft. I mean, yeah, that's boring. The 360 version. That's barring the 3DS version.
Yeah, yes. Interesting. OK, Yeah. All right. I like that. That was funny. I know it's supposed to be, but that's funny. Just true on. Listen, it wasn't jump scare and but I got it wasn't fucking scary. Yeah, Mark.
Mark, Mark, Mark. I think I want to talk about the zombie child from Dying Light now. Spooky. So Dying Light in itself is a horror game. It it's just parkour zombies and stuff. You know, you, you kind of get what you get on the, you kind of expect what you ask for on the tin until you get to the second city area. So how the game works is you're in one section of this of Haran of the Haran exclusion zone. And you know, it's going all right. You kind of have like the Pavela type town. You've got like a a little bit of like the kind of suburb region, I guess.
And you get to a point of the game where you're like, OK, I need to go to the other side of town because that's where a lot of things are happening right now. We need to get over here. And then you go through the sewers. You get to the other side of town. And it's more of a heavily urbanized area. So it, like all the layouts and everything are so much more condensed and congested because you have like, true city buildings. So there's this one section in the game where you have to go into one of these buildings and inside of it, this is the first time you see it in the game is a zombified child.
And what it does is it stares at you, screeches out, and summons a whore to your location. Oh my fuck. Yeah, like, like, like you're just completely, I, I'm not even expecting. It's just all of a sudden you're getting up towards the end of the game and there's a new zombie type now that you have to deal with just, oh, I have to deal with this, this this zombified child spawning in hordes every time it sees me. And it just freaks you out because now there's a whole new element of stealth in the game that you weren't ever prepared for.
Oh, oh, OK. Yeah, just it. Just seeing it and interacting with it freaked me out. Oh yeah, I can see why. Yeah, it's just. Holy shit. It's just a a curveball that you weren't even expecting because you're like, all right, we're approaching the very end of the game. There's not too much that they could probably do. And boy was I wrong. Just kill it. You just gotta kill it with fire, yeah. Just. Kill it. It's like it's supposed to be a nest of zombies that you had to go into. Make it never exist. Yeah, just just gotta just say fucking wipe it.
That's that's fucked up. Yeah. It's just like and just being a zombie child in general. Yeah, it's already unsettling. It's already like, man, this is not right. Yeah, it's something about this just ain't right, because for the rest of the game you're dealing with zombified adults and stuff like that. Yeah. So you never get any hints that oh, a child could be zombified in the universe. And it's like it is. It can happen. And it can happen and you're like, you don't know what you're dealing with.
Yeah, that's yeah.
Well. All right. I guess I will. Hey, what is that? Is that the horse again? It's getting a little bit close today. Maybe he wants a treat. Just sit still. You just think he's hungry. Maybe he's walking away now. OK, but I think we're good. Bye buddy. See you later. That was really weird. I guess he seems friendly. Where the fuck he's coming? From I have no clue. We're in a suburb, we're in a house. He just, he seems friendly. That's all I'm going to say. Maybe you're right, I don't have a nap. I've never seen a horse.
I've seen a horse, but I've never seen a horse come. Close. Yeah, I guess he should. Yeah, I guess it's not really too safe here. We should probably wrap up I guess. I guess you could say he's horsing around. Seriously though, we should we should probably wrap up again out of here. Maybe, yeah. All right. Well. Thank you for plugging in for Play 0. You Brady. Brady, we ruined your intro, so take the outro. I don't trust y'all. You can trust me.
Well, thank you for tuning in. Man, These motherfuckers smiling. Now look at that motherfucker. I'm going to take the words from Mark that took me. By point at that boy and laugh. Yeah, Ginger. That that took me by surprise with. Jesus Christ, this. Is on the CK. That like whoa, OK, yes, thank you for tuning in to plug in for player 4. Hope you enjoyed and if you have any comments or whatnot, you know what to do. Comment section below. Let us know what some of your jump scares were that gotcha spooky Pooky, and until next time.
Scary skeletons.
That was copyright. Yes, it is copyright. Well, I guess we're not getting any ads now. I'm going to get sued. I don't need them, I just need that horse to come back. I miss him already. It just seems like he could be. Be careful, you never know what you're going to get. I'm. He might be really up close. Set when? Oh no. Maybe. I mean he was pretty close right now but I miss him. I should have single tear. It's a crazy. Looking side, I don't trust that logging OK, but yeah, we need.
