Welcome to plug in for Player 4, where you the viewer are the player 4. And today I'm here with whoever these guys are. You forgot us. It's a short term memory loss coming in from last week.
He can only remember. Him Bros 30, he's already got on he. Can only remember his name. Yeah, he can only remember his name. Such a shame. He doesn't even remember his name. It's only fine dining and breathing fine. What is your name?
My name. Brandon. Brandon, what do you do, Brandon? Who's Brandon? I guess I have to mention that. Good to meet you probably shouldn't joke about that. Dementia's not funny, no. So what have we been up to?
Just, you know, casually 100% or more games.
Last year I got like 27. I'm up to like 40 now. Jesus, yeah, your library still left to go because I know you got a pretty big library. Well, as as of right now, my library is like I have 40 games. Well, 43, but the, you know, Steam doesn't count three of them for some reason. Oh, that's really. Weird. OK. On the profile, so I have like 160 something games so that's like 1/4 of my games but also I'm not sure exactly how many but if I had to guess another 40 ish doesn't have achievements. So it's like Ed down OK but also I know that I'm not going to 100% every single one can.
Some are dead, some have achievements tied to beta, some have it which is really dumb. Some have achievements tied to rankings which is really dumb as well. That's yeah, that's. Kind of. That's really weird. I, I, I hate beta achievements and I hate that's, that's a, that's a discussion. I'm not getting into that. Dumb. Yeah. What about you, Mark, what you've been doing? Oh, you know, hanging out. I've been spending lots of time with my wife, playing video games, enjoying life. See, I wouldn't know how that is.
How? What is? You say I had dementia.
It's funny, tuned out for a second. He heard like, normal. He heard normal life stuff. He's like, I'm not into that. My life feels like a video game. My life lives in the video game. I'm Brendan. OK, what do we got? Yeah, what we got today, so topic. Is in there.
Go on, talk, talk. Go ahead, don't keep us waiting. Oh, come on, get on with it. Oh, lizard.
Listen, listen, listen, listen, listen, listen. All right, so our topic is favorite main characters. I swear to fuck. Favorite main characters? I like making brain and angry. It's funny, I. Bought everything. Virgin please.
But yes, favorite main characters? Who wants to go first? They're looking, they're looking, they're looking. They're getting very close for some reason. Yeah, person. What the fuck was that? I have no idea. I broke him first, he goes first. You made a sound first. He should go first. OK, I can go first. Social anxiety. I can go first. No, I can go first. I'll take the hit. Yay. So my first one is Freddy Fazbear. Or or or or or. I will say in the first game he was always the scariest of the bunch 'cause he, he like, he always stirred the camera, he always hid in the shadows.
What does he do in the first game? Also, like we've talked about it a couple like here and there, like just the ambiance and everything about it. Just really fucking scary for his time by like the first game
he was just mysterious. But what I the Freddie that I'm talking about, so this is more so a legacy kind of thing that comes with it is glam rock Freddie. Oh my God, he's so fucking funny. Every like every time he speaks, he just has this like certain cadence about him. And like especially what like at the very beginning, near the beginning of the game, like when you're like trying to evade Chica and like trying to get to the pizza plexus and Greg is like, Oh my God, a free prize. I got a free prize and it's a Mr. Hippo magnet.
And then fucking Freddie just comes out like, I am truly sorry, Greg. It's so fucking funny. Gregory, sorry. Like I am truly sorry. Like, bro, it ain't that serious. The fucking magnet. It's OK, Gregory.
And just the way he talks that the entire game is like, oh, I know, I know that we can that no, it's like a, you pick up a ticket for something, He's like, Oh my God, you can use that to get into the daycare and like, or we'll have to go through L chips or like just the way he talks is just so fucking funny 'cause he's trying to help you and he's trying to sympathize. Like, he's pretty sincere. Yes, as you're going through this game trying to evade vanity and all these animatronics, just
it's, it's not supposed to be funny, but it's really fucking funny. Gregory, I'm so sorry. Gregory, I can see things through walls. Your. Mind is super. Oh yeah, that is just like what happened. What happened to Chica? This is Chica's voice box. It's like she took a tumble. Is it? Oh no, that is really bad. But she's still functioning. Is it? Oh that is great to hear. And then the one gets me is fucking like the the Roxy's eyes. Like I could see things with the. Walls. Yeah, well, I gave you Roxy's eyes.
These are Roxy's eyes. Like he's so fucking like. Oh my God. What?
What are you doing to my friends? He like. He will be like, Oh my God, but then he'll take everything you say as gospel. He's like, oh thank God, thank. Goodness.
It's so stupid. And then you encounter them, they're all fucked up and. Like. The animatronics and he says nothing about. You know, there's no voice lines. He just stands there and like you'll. Look at him. Oh yes, this is normal. And like, you'll look at him like, and he'll just fucking like, wait, yeah, he'll fucking. Wait, hey. Do you not see destroyed Chico over there? Are you not gonna? Are you not concerned? Yeah. I'm waiting to talk about this game more, but he's just a Freddy Freddy Fazber.
He's he's. Funny, funny.
These are. I like the interactions you get to have with him in the in the older games with, especially with the Freddy mask. I remember seeing all the the fan animations of Oh yeah, that's definitely Freddie. Freddie, you're Freddie. Fuck you, idiot. That's clearly the night guard. No, that's Freddie. That's. Freddie. But the night guard was just here. No I will say though, withered Freddie like is he used to be my favorite animatronic in the entire series. Just the way he looked and like his presence.
He was like 7 foot. Fucking he was fucking. 8 foot tall. He was tall. He could barely fit the you flank you shine the light and he could barely fit in the doorway. He was a big motherfucker. Yeah. So imposing. In his presence. And then when he's. He's aura forming from. Us. And when he's like, reaching out above, like trying to grab you when when you have to like, throw the mask on. Yeah, like you. You see, the one that really creeped me out was Chica with her Chica. Oh yeah, she. Was fucked up.
We'll talk. We'll talk more about them later. Yes, we will. Yeah, but let's. Let's continue on the topic then. But. Yeah, no Freddy's. Are there any other notable Freddy's? I mean, yeah, there's Nightmare Freddy and like there's, there's no Freddy in three, oddly enough. So, so there's Shadow Freddie. I think that's I. Mean they're phantoms. Or the phantom Freddie. There's. I don't think there's. So technically he's there, but not really. There's Chica Foxy. Oh, no, you're right. There's Freddie.
He's walking down the hallway. You're right. Yeah, which it's fucking funny as shit how he's like. Yeah, I know. Like it looks like one of the wind up toys anyway. I mean not really like notable and three. I mean, I guess 4, but even then he's the easiest animatronic to deal with. Yeah, he's he's not hard to deal with, sister. Location so yes, sister location had a pretty good one. The fact that it was Bonnie and like a fusion of Bonnie and Freddie, plus like the way he talks is like get him bon bon like, like his high pitched like playful voice.
Yeah. And crazy, like he's just very unique animatronics, especially in sister location. And The funny thing is that Freddie and Sister location at one point was German. Oh my God, you're raw. At one point, yeah, it was, it was German. And then they changed it. But gonna go get them or whatever. Like, however he speaks like kind of like really roboticy. Like even even though, even though he is a robot, like even with personnel, he's really robotic. Yes, yeah, it's not like glam rock Freddie where it's.
God no. Where he's pretty much just. They're sentient. No, like literally like. There's no more reason. They are just sentient. Yeah, they're just sentient robots. Which is honestly a really interesting take. Yeah, cause 'cause aren't the animatronics like possessed by Souls in like all the other games, like the souls of children? Yeah. Then in Security Breach they're just like really like hyper advanced just. Robots. Yeah, yeah, they're pretty high end. Cause like they can feel emotion, they have memories they and like they can sympathize even maybe not empathize, but they can sympathize.
They're very high tech. Yeah. And just work. Just cool. I just. Going like just a little bit off. I just wish we got to see more of the other animatronics in the security Breach, like just their personalities come out more like not not as robot or not as like robots for evil, but just their base. Traits. Yeah, yeah, 'cause like, it's just like, Oh yeah, here's the animatronics, you going through the vents and then like, you see, I'm like, Oh yeah, fine. Then you go see Freddie. It's like, oh, let's go check up on Chica and she's like fucking whacked out or whatever.
She's screwed up. I need to. Eat instantly, yeah. Pizza. Anyway, but yeah, like just Freddy Fazbear, he's just, he just has like a presence about him most of the games. Yes, which I would hope so considering it's he's the guy at Freddy's. Yeah. Still mad about Bonnie? Angry, angry frustration. I wanted my glam rock. I'm an e-mail do. You have a character to talk. About I mean, he he might, there's speculation, he might if there's a like a post to ruin or whatever, he might be back speculate. There's it's a fan theory, but yeah.
I I'm not getting my hopes up. I don't think we're going to see the glam rocks anymore. No, because that was sucks. Which? Sucks. I really, really like that. We might. You never know, there might be something else. I mean, Monty's dead, yeah. Monty's just straight and dead, Yeah. I mean. Yeah, poor guy. But now you know, Freddy's cool. I like him. Funny as fuck. Whore. Whore. Whore, whore. If anyone gets that reference, props to you. I'll.
Have to show you the video. Yeah, we'll have to show you it. I'll do it after the show. Mr. Brandon, you've got somebody you won't talk about. Well, use your words. You got this. We'll start with sounds. Yeah, service sounds, phonetics. What the tiki Tiki. I see he's in brain rot mode right now. Yes, now what do you got bro? So I don't have it on here.
Motherfucker. What? Curve balls. That's how I feel.
There's still processing noise that came out.
He like, he like, yelled. At us, you said it. It's the Braineron. He yelled at us in like demons. He's speaking in tongues. He's speaking in tongues. Help. So. I said his name was like Ezekiel or something. It was like intellect or something. Like Intellect Emeran. So my character Booker DeWitt from BioShock Infinite. Booker catch. Booker catch. I'm trying to shoot someone
Booker money. I don't need it right now. My wallet's full. Besides the jokes, he he does really have a very interesting character story. It's been so long I, I, I can't remember his personality or anything. He's kind of, he's a smart ass. Well, I mean, isn't he like a a detective? Yes, he is a detective with the Pinkertons. Yeah, I think it was the Pinkertons. And he is tasked to go get Elizabeth, which I'm sure like at this point I guess spoilers but doesn't really matter. I mean, the game's been out for how long?
Since when have we said anything about spoilers on this podcast? Yeah, really. Yeah.
So Elizabeth is actually Anna Booker's daughter, a grown up.
It's, it's a whole fucking thing. It's like the. Time bullshit. So there's a time split where he either does or does not get baptized. If he gets baptized, he becomes Comstock, yes? Who's the leader of the the Flying City Who uses twins that can breach dimensions to steal away Booker's daughter? Teresa's Elizabeth and the twins go back and they hire Booker to go get his daughter back it. It's convoluted, but it's so interesting. Yeah, 'cause I can remember at the end of the game, it was like Booker that was trying to get back, you know, Elizabeth, but also Booker was taking Elizabeth from somebody at the beginning.
It's like what the fuck? Yeah, yeah, it is. It turned out he was taking Elizabeth back from himself like an alternate version of himself. Yes, it his his character is kind of sad, like just. I mean, he definitely doesn't get a happy ending, no. No he does not, but I just liked him for being, well, it's funny being a smart ass but also kind of having a caring side to him. Yeah. Look, if you want to go and say it, it's the Leon Kennedy of the fucking fall of a Bioshock universe, I guess. Because I mean, you'll have the the smart ass side of him in four as well as the caring side of him that comes out because of Ashley.
Well, yes, well, more more so in the remake the. Yeah. The the original game he was just. Corny a corny asshole. He was just funny. But yeah, now Booker, I don't know, He's just, his character was just fun. He was just funny. It did bring it. It did bring a a new light into it. Yes, because just the way he would speak on things. Plus, like, the setting helped, too. Like, it was definitely like a brighter setting, yeah. Yeah, and I really liked his reactions to the the first couple salts that you get the abilities like I I know he he like says like, oh, that was no sample or some shit.
I just felt bad for him with the the like fire salt. That's not like Burn fully catch on fire when he. 1st. Yeah, he literally his hands. Yep. Yeah, you see bone and shit and it's like fucked up. Yeah, like what the hell. Then doesn't like he heal or something? Yeah, then then it goes to the animation and then he's fine. It's perfectly fine, but he's he's all freaking out 'cause his hands belt to get in front of him and he's like sure why? And like it wasn't like basically not propaganda, but something else, whatever word it was where like it's just like, Oh yeah, try this.
It'll be the greatest thing in the. World. Oh yeah, the marketing and yeah, marketing, yeah fucking weird, man. But you know, Booker's one of the characters that I can say is is one of my favourites just for, like I said, being such a smart ass, but having just a great personality and whatever environment he's in, he always has something to say about it. I I really like how they kind of leaned more into the character dynamics and infinite. The character dynamic between the two of them was. 'Cause 'cause I, I know I was thinking about bringing up subject Delta, but honestly, he's, he's just really a silent protagonist at the game.
Yes. So you really build off of the reactions of other people. Yes. And then in the first game, I don't remember who you play as. His name was funny enough, his name is Jack. Yeah, John. Yep. There it is, yeah. There it is. I'm bringing up but. Yeah, no, you're pretty much just like like an errand boy in that one. I don't. I don't really remember him talking all that much besides his reactions. And grunting. And grunting, especially if you put in the Big Daddy suit 'cause you had to, you had to, you know, twist your vocal cords and go through the process of becoming a Big Daddy.
Yeah, that shit, that shit was, yeah, that's Booker. Booker's cool. Booker do feel bad for him 'cause he had a very bad ending, but you know. I mean none of his endings were any good. It's either you get drowned in a river by all the alternate versions of Elizabeth, you get shot as Comstock, or. Yeah, it's literally. The one that somehow made it a rapture that gets run through by the Big Daddy at the start of it. Yeah, it like literally it's he's fucked either damn way. Just no happy ending at all.
No, but at least he's at peace. We think. We think. Who knows? All right. What about you, Mark? Oh, me, I kind of want to go on to a game that I haven't talked about too much. Let's talk about Mr. Kyle Crane from Dying Light. OK? What? I can't hear you guys. Everybody else can hear you, but not me. Well, well, the, the, what do you guys want to know about Mr. Kyle Crane? What game is he from? He's from the Dying Light series. What's his name? I have Kyle Crane.
Man, that wall is looking enticing, right? Now charge. What does he do? Does he have his superpowers? No, just just an ordinary man basically. I I haven't played the second game. I've really been beating too. I just haven't had the time. It's weird. So like in in the later games you're still playing as Kyle Crane, but I think it's just a different character overall. I'd have to play and confirm the first games. Kyle Crane, you are an agent of, I can't remember what the what the organization was from, but they're kind of like ACDC esque
medical company. And you're tasked with going in and securing the vaccine for the Haran virus in the city of Haran because that's where the zombie outbreak is occurring. And you're sent in. Immediately things go South and you get bitten and infected, and now you're going around dealing with all the locals trying to find your way out and also trying to figure out a vaccine to heal yourself and the people around you and figure out how to survive through all this. And throughout the story, you're dealing with like local corruption, you've got like street gangs you're fighting against, you have just regular civilians that you're interacting with, and you're just trying to deal with the zombie apocalypse as a whole.
And you know, as an added bonus, Kyle's really, really good at parkour and free running. So you're able to get around the city using rooftops, walls, things hanging off the sides of buildings and whatnot. And as a character, he starts off as pretty kind of arrogant, kind of, oh, I'm gonna blend in, figure out what's going on. But as he starts, starts uncovering conspiracy theories from the, from the organization he's working for, he's like, the people here are seriously fucked. I need to step in and actually do a, do a thing.
Otherwise all these people are just going to get wiped out. And he really starts kind of taking on this leadership role with the people he's with. And going into the DLC, we get to a point where, OK, there's no more vaccines coming in. People are really starting to suffer and starting to turn in order to buy a little bit more time for the resident doctor to actually figure out a, a true vaccine to the virus. To end the whole thing. You need to figure out a temporary solution to get everybody else through it.
And so you go into the countryside because the the zombie outbreak broke, quarantine is now in the countryside of the city. And you stumble along a cult that is worships, worships being some sort of lady that has a cure for the virus. And you're, you're doing your normal shenanigans. You're dealing with the population trying to work with them. You know, you're getting backstabbed. You're you're just being some asshole trying to get by making quirky comments here and there. Just, you know, good old boy or not, not good old boy that that's a we'll do that out.
OK. What, what, what what's the saying? I don't know. Yeah, you're, you're just being a guy. You're just being a guy. Being just being a guy. I've I've played Dying Light 1 and I have played a little bit of two. I the games are good. I just couldn't get into them. It was just something I just, I guess for me it's not really a game for. Me, I mean, to be fair, at the time and even like now, there was just like a bunch of like zombie games already. Like there was Dead Rising, there was Dead Island, There was other games just at that time out.
Yeah, it was a popular genre at the time. Yes. Plus the Call of Duty's. And it was just it, it was kind of getting beat to death. Yeah. And like I, I don't know, I just may have just been burnt out from that type of genre or whatnot. But I mean, you are right, it did come out at like the peak of. Yeah. Zombies and zombie games being kind of reference. Plus just like also the open world aspect with the zombies, it's like. Which has a lot of open world. Yeah, you, I guess you have to be in the mindset of zombies and open world, 'cause I can see why open world get boring as well.
I get I get bored of open world, yeah, but that added with zombies like I want, I genuinely wanted to play Dead Rising 3 'cause that's open world with zombie never. Never ended. I I think what appealed to me more was just the creativity and just dealing with different situations just kind of appealing. Right. You got to go to these different locations and I'm sure there's different like super like souped up zombies as well. That you have to deal with. Yeah, Yeah. I mean, that's like I you saying that you wanted to play Dead Rising 3?
Did I played the shit out of that one and it was a lot of fun, yeah. But yeah, there was just so many of these games out at that time that it just it. Was it just washed out this round rough? Yeah, but it didn't hurt Dying Light. No, we. Didn't hurt it. Honestly, I'm surprised that the franchise actually continuing forward. And I mean, that's great. Like it's, it's good to see that because like nowadays you don't really, at least from what I've seen, you don't really see a lot of zombie things. I mean, for a while we had The Last of Us kind of going well until the second game came out and then it just kind of.
Well, that's because like, Last of Us was different. It wasn't just oh, look, there's a zombie outbreak. No, it's a fungus. It's a fungus. It was a it was a lot different. Yeah. And. It was a it was a fresh take on the zombie genre. Yeah. And plus, like it just in this day and age, I think zombies have just been explored and like even The Walking Dead TV show, Yes, well. That's because they dropped off the zombies after like season 4 and it became like a a drama. Yeah. But even then it's like you can only do so much with zombies.
Yeah, Yes, that's. You know, like. That's the unfortunate truth of the matter. Slow moving, like just brain dead, Yeah. Like a damn dog.
Because what even you know, around that time and Dying Light came out. Because what? What year did Dying Light come out? Oh good, I want to see it was like mid twenty 10s. Yeah, that's what I guess I'm going to guess 2012. Because I actually so well if it came out around 2010. 2015. 2015. Yeah, re actually mid twenty 10s mid. 20 tens, OK. So it's kind of coming off. Like, yeah, towards the end, yeah. 'Cause then just some years later they a 2019 Resident Evil 2 that remade and that was zombies. Yeah.
Which was a lot different. It fucking zombies. They weren't bad, they were just spongy. Yeah, bullet sponges. As and, and that's not just that game, the original same thing. That's fair. That's fair. But yeah, 'cause I mean, it's on like after that I, I didn't hear anything of like games that were incorporating zombies and whatnot. Like it's just kind of a thing that's been beaten to death. Now that being said, it it will probably never go away as a genre of some kind. But I'm assuming at some point it will have its own resurgence kind of as things kind of ebb and flow with it with with just the way that the genre is approached.
Yeah, because, I mean, I there probably could be something they could do, like whatever company decides to do this, something different with zombies, I'm sure there's something different you could do. Yeah, it's just finding that. Finding that niche. Yeah, it's just such an easy thing to go to. Yeah, it's super fucking easy. Like I wouldn't be surprised if RE-9 has some type of zombie. Right. Yeah, but no, that's the Dying Light series is cool. It was just a game that really wasn't for me. That's fair.
That's fair. I played it, I gave it a chance and it was just something that just couldn't keep my attention. Yeah, I remember, I remember 1 episode in particular. I watched Jacksepticeye play and he's like, oh, I'm going to try the Exp caliber and like you have like 7 uses. Yeah, shoot, shoot, shoot. Dead. I like just broke. I'm like, well, that's, that's stupid stupid. I remember that side quest. I went through fucking hell and back to get that. I was like, oh, this is going to be so cool. And then it just broke.
I was like well fuck. You just did all that hard work for nothing. Yeah, that. Hell and back for that thing. What do you mean it's already broken? I probably would have stopped playing at that point. Like fuck I just did this fucking quest. They supposed to give me something that's good and then it breaks after very few uses? No, I'm. Sorry I think you could craft it again but it also like it also give you a shit ton of experience but it just wasn't worth it. Yeah, the pain and suffering, they have to get this thing and then it just breaks.
Yep. Yeah, no, I'm sorry. Fuck that. All right, Mr. Ethan.
I mean, I think I've talked about these games on here before, but tie the Tasmanian Tiger now, there's not really much to talk about here. It's just more so. And like you say, I grew up with it and it's just like how he talks. There's a charm to it. Yeah, 'cause you know, it's, it's, it's, yeah. Someone from Tasmania, which is, you know, off of off of Australia. Yeah. But I mean close enough to like in verbiage and how they talk. And it's just it's just like as a kid, it was just like funny, like being like, oh, like fair dinkum or you beauty.
It's just like these are words that I've never would have thought of in this combination before. But I mean that's, you know, just how was slash is. Yeah. And like even then it's just like he's, he's like, I'll get it done kind of guy. He's like, all right, Ty, we have to, we have you. We need you to go deliver this, this uranium rod to this, to this construction company or something like that. I was like, all right, I'll do it and just load it up in the car. The confident attitude. Yeah, it is.
Yeah, it's like, Yep, I'll get it done and like just load it up in the car. You got 5 minutes to go down the street. I was like, all right, I got it to you. You need anything else? I was like, Nope, I should be good now. I was like, all right, OK, like. Got it. I mean, that's more so the second game, but just like, I don't know, it's just, you know, he wants to do good. Yeah, 'cause there's this reoccurring character, Fluffy, which is actually a reptile.
It's a lot of sense, but all right. Fuck me. Well, yeah, Fluffy's a reoccurring character and he's just like, but you could be a good guy. He's like, but yeah, the money I work with, I work with Boss Cass. I'm like, I like, I'll see you later, darling. Or like you rat. I like just calling him a rat instead of instead of a tiger. Yeah, there's just the interactions he has with like characters and just even like how he talks himself is just funny. I don't know, just it's it's it's like you with Resident Evil.
It's just more so a nostalgia pick than anything. Yeah, it's pretty much. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get that. No, I'm sure there's other more charming like furry characters from the early 2000s like Sly or Conquer something. Or Banjo Kazooie. Yeah, but the fucking stupid sounds I. Fucking love it dude I hate it I love it so much.
For reference, I hate Rick and Morty and I hate Beavis and Butthead. It's like this is just unnecessary sounds. I need teepee for my bungle.
I could see where it's annoying. You probably didn't. You probably wouldn't even like the Ren and Stimpy. Probably not. Because that that show was like a kid on I fucking Sugar. High. Oh yeah. I fucking love Ren and Stimpy as a kid. To be fair, I watched Johnny test as a kid and that's Brad's brain rock central. Yeah. Anyway, we're getting back on topic now. There's not really much else to talk about, Ty. So you guys, yeah, yeah, I think it's Brain and Stern. What you got? So we're going to talk about Doom Guy.
Too angry to die? Silent protagonist. And well, yes, for the most part until a DLC. Yeah, yeah. For one word. For one fucking word, so do. You have anything to say to your creator? No, no, that's literally that's it. That's literally it. One line that's. Fucking awesome. Like that that was that was done well, but yeah, doom guy slash Slayer because doom guy that was the. Original Doom. It was the original Doom guy. And then 2016, he became known as the Doomslayer. Yeah. And it's still the same guy too, it's just.
It's it's the same character, just a different. Game. It's a weird sort of time. Jump. I mean it kind of makes sense and plus like Doomslayer just sounds fucking epic. Oh, it does. And just like the the the gameplay difference between the originals and yes, the remakes or the remasks, whatever. We were wrong. He doesn't just say the one word. He says a couple more words in eternal or he's talking to the the priests and they're like, oh, hey, tell us about everything. He's like plied guts, big guts.
He's just kind of rambling. So technically, yes, he's had more than one. Word. He's had like 5 to 10 words. Man, I wish I was that person who got paid for that. OK, so basically still Salem per deck in his territory. Yeah, yeah. You just talking the other time. I mean, those two cutscenes are the only times I recall them talking. Yeah, 'cause he, he had that, that look about him that like he like look at you and then like way and shit in your life. I just like, I like passing by all the the scientists on the station, yeah.
They're all freaked out. Like, Oh my God, he's gonna kill. And then there's. The two guards. There was one was one of the scientists like you go up to him, he's like, and then he. Just shout to him, you grab his ID badge and just RIP it off of him and just. Walk. No, you drag him. Oh yeah, that's right, you drag him across the counter until it skins. Yeah, literally you just drag it. He's like, Oh my. God, afterwards I'm like, Oh yes, it got it, Yeah, Pretty high, yeah. No I I after that after you climb the ladder at the top there's another cutscene.
It's just two guards stating watch over the the BFE, the BFG and the one guard stalking shit. He's like I don't. I don't really get the hype of this doom guy. I bet I could kick his ass. Then you just see the Hatch. Just go fucking fly. He steps out. Doom guy steps out, looks over the guy that was talking shit, takes his gun and walks off. The guy's like, I think it just wet myself.
He's so was. That angry to care? Was that eternal or that was eternal? Oh my fucking God. Was that eternal? I think it. Yes, it was because we were going to shoot a hole in Mars. Oh. God. It was just before you. Can't just shoot a hole into the surface of Mars. Watch me shoot a hole in Mars. Like that's just just the non caring, too angry to die superimposing. I'm going to fuck you up like. Yeah. He's it's just great, a silent protagonist that gives off that much and you just know exactly how he is.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, I, I love it. Have you heard like one of the origin stories of why he went back into hell was because they killed his pet rabbit? Yeah, because they killed his pet rabbit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He came back and saw, you know, his rabbit was dead or I got some going back. That's it, I'm. Going to fuck you up now. Because the demons like, hey, let's mess with this. They they invaded Earth and they killed this rabbit. Let's mess with this Doom guy, yeah? I just and I just. Scorched earth tactic.
I just love Doom guy. Just. Scorched Health. Scorched God damn it. No, I just I I love doom guy just also for her dude Slayer just for how screwed up he kills these fucking aliens just the way he kills them like I I like. So brutal. We'll see what makes me laugh with which is kind of sadistic when you do a a glory kill on the cocko demon. You just pull the eye out. Yeah, but what's funny is if you listen, the sound is like. It's a. Yeah, yeah. And then he just thinks like. It explodes. I mean, I do have a figure of him right here so.
Or do you do you do you remember the the cutscene after the game where you have the demon playing with the action figures? Is that's right. And then you just said doom slave behind him, cocky shotgun. He's like, oh. And the other one other one of the big demons, like one of the fat ones. The Mancubus. I think it's that it's, yeah, it's one of the ones with. You're talking about the ones with the guns on the arms, Yeah. It's that I love the glory kill where you fucking rip out this like thing out of it's like stomach here and then you shove it down it's throat it.
Explodes. Yeah, it just whenever like he doom guy, you know, does the animation, I'm just like oh, and it's boom boom, it's fucking. Awesome. God damn it, it's. Like I've showed, which funny enough, I probably shouldn't have done this, but I showed my mom some of the glory kills and she's like, what the fuck are you playing? Like she knows about Doom, right? Like she knows about the BFG. Yeah, the big fucking gun. That's what it ain't no bio force shit. Big fucking gun. And when you talk about Doom, you can't say it like that.
You can't say doom. You gotta say fucking doom. Fucking Doom. I can't take credit for that though. That's a angry video game nerd.
It's law around these parts. It is in and then after playing Doom 2016 I went back to the original games and it did obviously. Big difference. Yeah. But I like them because it's not just about killing the demons. Now that is part of it, but it's also puzzle solving. That was a very big part and it's even still a big part now. This Doom was always about killing shit, but then puzzles and and what not Yeah even a little bit of platforming, which was kind of weird. Like I. Feel I I honestly feel like a lot of that's kind of watered down lately in the newer Doom titles.
It's more of. It it's more of an arena shooter like Quake. Yeah, that's pretty much yeah. There's still puzzles here and there, but it was really about just killing shit and not honestly. I'm OK. With that, I it's still a good time. Unless like if you want a like fucking violent version of the older Doom games, there is a mod for it called Brutal Doom which is super fucking violent. Like these pixel art shit. Like the guns are different, they sound different, they look different. They also, depending on which one you're using, like the shotgun, if you're shooting one of the fucking aliens in the head, the head will bust off.
The brains go on the ceiling. Oh God, yeah, it's fucked up. Christ. So if you want. Like like it gives Mortal Kombat a run for its. Money. Yeah, the chainsaw. You put them all up and shit. I am truly sorry about that my friend. Can be a little amended. Against it's God, it's it's just it's cool, like how violent it is and satisfying because the sounds are different too, like everything's kind of updated, I guess you could say like the grenades too. You just fucking throw them and fucking body parts go over the place and shit.
Like seen this in like the the fucking 90s Doom is funny as shit. Even the barrels. The barrels are funny. Now it could be probably a little too violent for some people because it's. It turns it up to 11 is what you're saying. Yeah, it honestly fucking passed 11. It's. Fucked up. Like I don't like, I don't mind like gore, but when it's like like Uber gore, I'm. Yeah, like, like I said, brains on the ceiling dripping down and you hear it. I mean, it's good, fuck, I can't really say anything, but that's also because Dead Space.
Yeah. So you're kind of. Used to that, I've kind of tone deaf to it because I'm like wow. It's just it's it's a little different with a game like that that is as old as it is. Yeah. And it has that, yeah. The fact that that works is pretty interesting. Yeah, really. Now the only thing I don't like about it, and this is like a fucking sin for Doom Reloading. There is no reloading in Doom. You just shoot it puts reloading into the game, yes. Interesting. Which it looks cool, but I that's not how Doom is.
That's that's not part of the loop. No, you don't like have to reload your gun. You just, you keep shooting. You just keep fucking going. Yeah, and you can also flip off the the the demons like like quite literally, like your character will flip off and say fuck you, eat shit. I'm. Like so it's like Doom meets Postal? Yeah, pretty much, yeah. Yeah.
And it's easy to install. You just need the the wad file load that wad. Sorry, I'm referencing fucking anger video game nerd. God damn it.
Yes, I love, I love, I love doom. I I really do. I, I, it's, it's a good franchise for what it is and the people that worked on it and the fact that there's mods that you can literally just play through like the new versions of Doom, you just load them up, even have a Sonic mod, you could say, oh, funnier enough. It's timeless, yeah. Yeah, damn sure. Put that on. Wow. But God damn shit. Well, that's think so. Yeah. Dude. Dude, don't worry, I've got a noggin up here. It's do it's. Do you? It's chugging.
It's a hamster with you see looking at oh, it's. Smoking. Oh, it's having problems. But who would like to go next? I am done talking about Doom because I'll keep talking about it if I don't. Oh yes. Cat. Oh yeah, the plushy. Yeah. Oh no, yeah, it's too far away. Want it? No, it's too far away. Oh, good, Kitty. I want Kitty. It's just a very long pillow. Oh, Jesus. Oh my God. I made a mess. This, this one's going to be. On me, I guess I'll entertain the masses for now, but Brandon is currently getting like a four foot, 3 foot cat.
It's basically a body pillow and he's having a seizure, smiling, trying to get in the right position. All right, and. There it is. And he's good.
He smelled like a doofus. I don't know why, I don't know why all of a sudden he wanted the cat, but it's like a kid at a carnival prize from the big section. So happy SO. Happy. He's so happy. It's a body pillow of a cat. Literally just cat. Yep. I could literally hit myself in the eye with this. You have protective. He's comfy.
I generally don't know why you want to cat anyway. Back on topic, yeah, Mr. Isaac Clark from Dead Space. I'm not going to read on about a Dead Space because I've done it for many of episodes, but look at that Mister to to Isaac here. I I like seeing the character analysis of him and it's just so interesting having a different perspective of him before you play the game and after you you go in and replay the game. Because as you start off the game, you think it's all it's going to be nice and good.
And especially in the remake, because the in the original he was just mostly a silent protagonist except for like one or two scenes here and there. But yeah, for, for the remake and two and three, you really see a lot more of the character develop. And the first game, he just starts off as just, Oh yeah, this is our random job for me, that he's just suddenly thrown into eldritch zombie apocalypse. And as you learn more and more about him, you find out he's actually still just really fucked up even going into the game originally.
Because when you get to the end of the game and you get to the twist that Nicole was dead, you realize it's not just the fact that she's dead now, it's the fact that she was already dead. He knew about it and he still talked about her as if she was still alive because he couldn't accept it. Oh God. And you when you go to replay the game, he keeps talking about Nicole as if she's still alive even before they drop out of the of the the, the lightspeed, whatever technology they use. When after they drop out of warp, he's still talking about her as if she's still alive even before he gets in contact with the marker.
So it just goes to show that, you know, he's still a normal guy, but he's also really fucked in the head because he can't accept the fact that he's never gonna have her in his life again and allows the marker to manipulate him. It's just a really interesting character dynamic that I, I feel gets missed out by a lot of people.
That's all I really had to say without diving full on into into the game again. Poor guy, yeah, gets fucked with. I, I, I mean, for the best story, the reason why he has regret for her killing herself is because he blamed her for the death of his parents. Because Nicole was the psychiatrist to his mother.
Yeah. And they started dating. And before she went on to the Ishimura, she's like, hey, I think your mom's finally fine. And she can move back in with your dad and you, and then you guys should be fine. And then she leaves and all of a sudden his mom has a fucking trip, kills his dad, kills herself. And then before he can even get a funeral for their bodies, the Church of Unitology swipes up the bodies and puts them on one of the tomb ships. And he's. And in a video call with her, he's like you.
You might as well have killed them yourselves 'cause you said they were fine and she's like fuck you and hangs up on him. And that's the last conversation he has with her before she sends him the video of her killing herself. So it it's really. Fucked. God damn. Yeah, I, I didn't, I, I kind of knew a little bit about Isaac Clark, but I did not know his backstories. I fucked. Yeah. How the hell did he not just say fuck everything? I mean, he technically did. He let the marker manipulate him. And so you seen Nicole walk around the ship.
Yeah, I'm just surprised he just didn't end it like that's. Throughout the games you're just surprised he didn't end it. Actually in in two he almost tries to. He tries to have like a self sacrificial moment. Yeah. And the New Girl comes in and she's like, get on the fucking ship. Yeah. You're not getting a choice is better and he just gets on the ship. Oh my God, a new love interest. Yeah, and then their relationship falls apart between the 2nd and the 3rd game. Of course. But we won't talk about game #3 because that's just so many weird choices with that.
But the real question is why are you letting these? OK, you already went through really bad relationship. Yeah. That you kind of caused because you're kind of a Dick. Yeah, understand. Like understandably, you know, parents and what not. But she didn't do anything. She didn't do anything. She thought she was fine. But then you're going to fuck up this one after you've already been like it. It's the. Yeah. Fucking Isaac. Yeah, nothing goes well for him. No, and some of it is self-inflicted. Yeah.
But just just a really interesting character to dive into when you really want to analyze the series. Yeah, and it's a great series. I mean it's. And I especially love the rebake where they gave him more interactions with everybody. And it, yes, it feels a lot more natural with him talking back to
Hendrix and Kendra, I think, yeah. Something like that, Yeah, yeah. Give him give his character more depth. Yeah, it's just all you're you're just nobody that gets told what to do. Yeah. And you make funny noises when you keep stomping your foot on the. Ground son of. A. Backing. Bitch God. It's funny, I, I, I, I do that when I'm, when I play Dead Space. I've done that plenty of times when I'm thoroughly pissed off of an enemy. Yeah, yeah. It's just so satisfying, satisfying. It's so tangent. Just a fucking blood paste and you're just.
Squish, squish, squish. But I will say, just before we move away from Dead Space, that guy, that fucking banging his head. Ohh I'm seeing the wall initial hallway. Bro that shit was fucked. He's like Bang. Bang, he turns around, he just collapses. Yeah, 'cause he just sees blood spurting from him. Yeah, here he was pretty bucked up. That's fucked up game God. It's a fucked up game series. But it's really good. Like if you if you want a master class of cosmic horror, Dead Space. Oh boy, man made in horror.
Is Mohammed no man made? Actually, yes. First, Barker is completely man made. Oh boy, man made horrors behind comprehension. And then the other markers are not man made so they're Eldridge horrors. Oh. God. All right. Yeah. Dead Space. Yeah. Lit.
All right, who wants to take over? We got time for more. Yes, we do. One more. I mean, I can talk about I want to hug that Gator now. This is it's more so a visual novel than a game, and I can't say what drove me to actually playing this, but I was going through my Steam discovery and all of a sudden I just so happened to land on this page. I had more to discover in my Steam discovery, but I just stayed there. And the music was fairly pleasant actually, but I just stayed there, head in the background.
I guess it was just like a growing interest kind of deal. But anyway, going into the game, you play as a character called Inco G Nito. What? It's supposed to be Incognito. Oh, OK, yeah, but yeah, Inco is you know what you're referenced by most of the game. But yeah, Inco G nito, you are pretty much this. It's Anon like anonymous. It's you're a blank face character with AI think a white shirt, black shirt and like a blue jacket and glasses. Nothing no like no like no eyes or facial features. Maybe occasionally a smile or like a a mouth.
But you get to this. You get like the premises that you get to a school like a new art school and you just like want to try to pursue art 'cause you're a photographer and it's a dinosaur school and then you find this alligator. Then you want to hug, but just the first time I played it, it took me like 12 hours to go through the entire story and it was it pulled at my heartstrings quite a bit. I this game like I this started off as me just like, you know, just idly being on the steam page store for some for some reason I need.
To look up this game now. It's actually a fairly interesting game. If you like visual novels, I would I would give this game a try. It's very very good and it has like 4 different endings. But again getting off topic Inco like he he finds this impaired like wheelchair bound Gator and it's kind of like a love at first sight thing and like she looks Uber pissed. She doesn't talk at all. She doesn't. Say anything or like even then very very like very few words and you just you just want to get to know her because she makes really good art and you're genuinely interested in her as a person, unlike a lot of people.
Oh, she's cute. She is very Olivia. She's very cute and just as you play, like you see, you see Inko like start to start to get to know her and start to be more friendly and, you know, like start to laugh and eventually
start to defend her and actually like care for her fully.
It's a very wholesome game. But you know, like it also depends on the choices that you make, but the good choices are really fucking good And just everything about this game encapsulated me for like a week. It just I don't know the ink Inco. There's some funny parts, but yeah, not just it's it's, it's, it's a short 1 again.
There was just a charm about him. Oh, them really. It's mainly Inko and Olivia because at first you just don't know anything about her. But then you start to realize what's going on.
And like, I won't say too much for people who do want to play because there's just, it's just so much story packed into. Yeah, it's one. It's. One game. It's one of those narrative driven things. It's purely narrative driven. Yeah, or if you know too much, you already kind of ruined the experience for yourself, right? But it's just like the the premise of, you know, dinosaur people and you're the only human in the entire school. And there there's like not even like Olivia aside, there's some really good characters.
There's a teacher in there that I love. I won't say who, but I love them. They're they're kind of a a mentor to Olivia. The fact that he like even though he's a dinosaur, he has stuff to say to Inco is also great as well. So do you know there's a plushie? Yes. Very cute. Yes, again, this game is very cute. Very adorable. Granted, some of the endings are bad. Yeah. But it's just getting to see the story is just a marvel and seeing these characters develop and seeing why like Olivia was a shut in.
Serving outcast. I mean, she kind of made herself that way, that's all. I will say that. But there's a reason as well to why she made herself that way. And it's like, I do like, I'm somebody who's not really like likes the visual novel stuff. Neither am I, neither AM. I, you know, but this, this is interesting. It's I kind of at some point might pick it up. It's it's a good read for 12 hours and there's, so I will say there's four endings there. There's a system for it. I won't get into it but to keep it hidden, but depending on certain choices like you know like the system happens and different routes open up.
And you know, I like, I didn't reread the story, but going back through and doing everything the game has to offer, like it took me 24 hours. So that initial read was 12. So that's a long read. I'll say for like and it's $15.00. That's pretty good for a $15. Game. I am not a person for these visual novel games. I don't care for Doki Doki and none of these, none of none of the stuff. But yeah, just I don't know. Inko is a character though. He's really fucking funny in the in the game, really fucking funny.
He's like, Oh yeah, I can do this and starts to show off and then just gets immediately obliterated by a dodge ball and gets laid out for the for the rest of the day. He's like, what time is it? It's like it's after school all. Right. But yeah, that's that's all. All righty. All right. A good wholesome one, Yeah, Very good wholesome one. After me talking about ripping bases off, Yeah. No Dead Space. It's going from Doom to Isabel Kind. Of a nice refresher, yes, You round up the night, right?
All right. Well, that's it. Anything else? I'm good. No, I'm good. OK. Your mom, I'm sure they love that.
You know, I'm going to add detail. No. Just for you.
Yeah. All right. Well, then that is the episode for today. We hope that you enjoy it. Let us know in the comments what your favorite main character is. We'd love to hear it. I forgot that.
