Hello and welcome back to Plug In for Player Four.
I am Mark and I am accompanied with Brandon and Ethan.
Say hi guys. Hello.
Hi. Yeah.
How you guys doing? Hi.
He's he's on repeat. Hold on.
Hi. The the record's skipping.
He'll get back later. We're.
Already past this. Oh.
Fuck, I'm doing good. Nothing too spectacular besides
more dentistry things. That's about it.
Yeah, that, that that's coming up isn't.
It another one, but another appointment, but you know, take
care of your teeth. That's the model for today.
This chair, I'm going to fuck you.
Get that chair counter started. Oh, it's going up a lot today.
Wow. At least.
He's not allowed. What about you, Mr. Ethan?
He. Lost his chat.
So. Actually he's like the one guy
from Borderlands hell. Yes, Steve.
I love Steve. So by the time this episode
comes out the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set and magic will
have released and I will have done the pre release with my
brand new peanut butter's leaves with my my with my friend Corey.
I have seen some of these cards. Patrick has showed me them.
Yeah, some of them fucking terrifying me.
Like the words on the art? The fucking art.
Have you seen some of the fucking?
Like yes I have. Like the pizza pizza so fucked
up. Oh God, I don't get it.
Some people were like AI this, AI that.
I don't care. It's a fucking card, dude.
Plus it's I don't think it's AI. See how that's?
There was like, I think 2 AI cards in the Latin avatar set,
but I'm so that might have been like, hey, let's just the
waters, but I, I don't, I'm not going to get into that.
That's. That's totally different.
Yeah, OK. We'll, we'll let that community
handle that. Yeah, and just.
It's a card game. Yeah, I'm here to play the
effects on the cards. As long as the effects on the
cards aren't AI written, we'll know what that Oh.
Yeah, you will. Yeah.
But as long as as long as the cards work, that's all I really
care for. I'm here for the experience of
enjoying other people's company. And yeah, just socializing on
more than could I play commander, not standard.
I mean none of the one V1 formats but I I just play
commander the social format and have a blast.
Say fuck. Everything else and the world.
Have fun, right? That's all we need to do.
Yeah, hopefully we go 3 O, but we're probably going to do our
usual and go 21. Woo, it ain't bad like that's,
you know. I still think it'd be fun to do.
On with you. I need it.
I want to keep bringing it up. I know you will, and I'd like
that you do. It makes me feel wanted.
Oh baby no. Oh, Barber.
There's a. Whole thing behind that, that
Johnny Bravo shit, that's the the I I God, Mark, do you want
to? Yeah.
I'll explain it a little. Bit of time.
Here. So yeah, we have a little time
before we actually get truly into the topic.
Fuck, there was one day we're all fucking around in Discord
and I don't know how the conversation started, but we
started talking about Johnny Bravo.
We'll be like and the brain goes, oh, hey, I sound a lot
like it. I'd be like, wow, hey, little
Mama, hey, little Mama. And we're just yeah, be
intrigued. I quickly after he says that, I
I just go. So that's why you can't get a
woman. And it just sent me off the
fucking charts. Like as soon as Mark says it
after he's like, I'm sorry. Like I think I kind of went far.
I'm like, no, that shit was funny as fuck.
Like it was such a quick witted like saying like.
And the way I said it too, just quickly into the bike, just so
that's why you can't get over me.
And it, it like it itched a part of my brain where just serotonin
happened and I'm laughing. I had to pause.
I think it was playing Fallout. I had to pause because it was so
sudden and fucking hilarious. I was, I, I, I don't know how to
describe it. It was funny as shit.
So, so two things come to mind and I don't know which one to
say first, because it's a it's basically like a branching path.
But when we were playing Overwatch, me and you, Brandon,
and I'm like, hey, Brandon, Brandon, I'll go over here, look
over here. I was playing as Rometra the
tank and I'm just like I'm I'm moving my character ever so
slightly as to make movements while I'm going and I just stop
and I activate shift activated the punching arms and I'm just
like whoa Mama, like getting really super buff.
And every little bubble. And he walks away and what the
fuck that that sent me too. That she was.
The other one, is this what I originally thought you were
going to say Mark when you were explaining it, but I forgot it
went far beyond. Oh yeah, yeah, origins, yeah,
origins of it. Fucking actually I, I kind of
forgot the other one. Oh gosh.
Well, if it comes back, let us know.
You know, yeah, yeah. That that was, that was really
funny, my Mama told me. Or warming women like that's
what it was. You were, you were in the
discord fucking around with me and he's like, at least I'm
sorry. No, it was.
You said you ginger fuck, you know, like at least I'm not 30
years. Old and it set me like and
again. Instantly just clap back with.
The and it it was so fucking. Good.
It's always the retort. Yes, it that's what he with me
with my when I've known people long enough, I expect and I fuck
with you. I expect something clap me back
because I'm looking for that. That's how my personality is.
And when you guys deliver, I'm fucking done.
I am dead because it is such a beautiful fucking.
Yes, it finally happened. But then like, just just like
Mark, you're like, actually I kind of went a little far.
I'm sorry. No, I know I felt bad for
calling you 30. I'm like, I wouldn't want to be
called 30. I felt bad for that, no.
I was like my Oh my God, that's so good.
That's the kind of shit I I, I look for.
Like just that, that funny quit. I I know we're a couple of
months out from your birthday by this point, but I I just like
how the 30 year old jokes have been evolving.
Yes, they have. Divorced, subtler, drawn out
versions. Instead of it just being
blatantly about being 30, Yeah, it.
Just sucked. We give it a little storyline
before we hit it with the point of, Oh yeah, you're 30.
Oh yeah, you're 30 fucking card. It's like hell.
Hey, what's up? You 30 year old?
How are you? How are you holding up?
You 30 year old? Oh, what?
You know, like being called 30 year old, you 30 year old.
Well, you know, congratulations on being 30 years old.
I I don't remember what I said the other day where it was just
kind of drawn out, but the yeah, you're fucking old.
Yeah, they're saying something just really long drawn out, and
it ends with, yeah, you're old. And I'm like, wow, that went
somewhere. It's like there's you on a
roundabout Outback to see. Yeah, it's, it's like those
jokes where you're, you just messed with the person.
Yeah. So I wanted to ask you a
question and I, I don't mean to, you know, be to interrupt you or
anything. And I hope this is OK to ask
you, but I, I just don't want to, you know, make sure I'm not
pushing any boundary or anything.
What are you doing today? Good.
You're just like drawing it out. Like, come on, go to the
question. Go to the.
Question. How you doing?
Fuck me. I, I, I think my, I think my
favorite one of that was a, a, a watch pot doesn't boil.
So I, I, I'm a test me with making dinner one night and I
was like, OK, I'm kind of busy with, with other stuff.
So I'm like, I'm on Discord with Braden and Jack and I'm like,
cool, I I need to go do something right now.
And I'm in the back of my mind. I'm like, this is going to be
fucking funny. So I'm like, hey, can you guys
do me a favour while I go run this run errand real quick?
And Braden and Jack go, yeah, I said, hey, can you watch this
pot real quick? I set up the camera on Discord
to watch the pot. Yes, quite fucking.
Literally yes. And then I'm like just just make
sure it just just keep an eye on the pot of water, water while
you go out and do this. So 5 minutes come by, I come
back and I'm like, hey, thanks guys, thanks for watching The
pot brand's like no, yeah, no problem.
I said, Oh yeah, not boiling still.
And then I'm like, yeah, that I guess that's what I get because
a wash pot doesn't boil. Just talking up.
Oh. Yeah, and he was.
Yeah. God God, God fucking damn it.
It's like now I can watch the pot myself to make sure it's
boiling when it needs it to. Be it, it, it was very
thoughtfully planned that it, it, it's kind of hard to, it's
probably hard to understand, but it, it's it, it was funny.
That might get mad at me. Yes, she did.
I think she smacks you. I.
Think she did too. She was like that joke sucks.
Like in the background, just fucking.
Oh, you suck. Your jokes are bad and you
should feel bad too. Before, I'm sure, before we get
on your topic, Mark, I got to tell you this awesome Ethan,
too, When me and Emma we're playing repo and that one
creature that throws his head at you, you know that explodes.
Yeah. And then explodes.
So I was in the other room and she was in the room ahead of me,
and I'm trying to protect the fucking Gart from this damn
thing 'cause it was blowing everything up.
But I guess Emma was up high somewhere.
We're on the museum level and she's like, yeah, you can miss
me, fat ass. And then she gets hit by the
head and the, I forget what she said after that.
I was like, oh shit, like it. It was fucking funny because
it's all muffled and shit because it's been on the wall.
Yeah, fucking so fucking stupid. But what is the topic today?
Just real. Quick, have you seen that that
clip on repo where there's a a girl's talking?
She's like, you all need to call me a pretty Princess because I
won and she's got the crown on her head.
At the end of the game. You have a guy talking me with,
like, a British accent. He's like, you're such a
beautiful Princess. A guy with a sultry voice trying
to be like, yes, you're such a beautiful Princess, honey.
And then the third guy goes, oh, yeah, you're such a good
Princess. Oh yeah, the Wisconsin accent.
God damn it. Search it up is beautiful.
Oh yeah, you're such an amazing Princess.
God fucking damn it. Fucking damn it.
Just just a beam of the week for you guys to go dumpster diving
for. That.
That should be a a segment of the fucking podcast.
Meme of the week Meme of the. Week anyways.
You don't want to see what's in my brain.
I have like an encyclopedic knowledge of some memes that you
wouldn't you would have like, yeah, that does exist, doesn't
it? I recognize this.
It's from an age before the age meme of the.
Week we sports bowling strike logo.
Wow. Nice cock, I was just.
Thinking that, well, let's see if if you're an encyclopedia of
memes, are they going to get us cancelled?
Oh God. No.
Oh, OK, cool. Wow.
Well, I know yours will. Mine will too.
Most of the time, yeah. Mine are kind of bad.
No, it's. The funny ones where like
someone slams the table fuck and then they get zooms out.
There's just the word fuck at the bottom with the black border
I love. Those kind of memes that are
just so fucking outrageously stupid that it's just, it's,
it's just funny. Well, I'm going to go ahead and
segue off of Ethan's mentioning of magic.
And we're. Going to talk about video games
and board games this week. So I want to talk about if, if,
if, if there's a board game that exists or a video game of a
board game that exists already and we don't know about it.
I want to apologize in advance, but I want to talk about video
games that we think would make great board game adaptations or
vice versa, board games that would really benefit from having
a video game adaptation. Yes, You with the hand up.
May I go first? Yeah, sure.
OK, go. Yeah, so so you understand the
topic. We're talking about yes, yeah,
yeah. So.
So if if a video game can be made into a board game or if a
board game could be made into a video game, so.
So I, I just want to start off by saying I hope that Terraria
gets a board game soon. It's it's getting a board game.
Yeah. Yeah, I was.
Just about to say we already know this, I'm just.
I, I'm sorry, it's, it's the perfect time to bring it up
because I'm so fucking excited for it.
It apparently arrived in the docks or whatever.
So it's the. Country now on the 14th.
Oh fuck yeah. Cool, we're playing that.
Yes, we. Are we have to plan a game night
around it? Yes.
Yes. Well, I guess you wanted to
describe the board game to them. I've.
Been following the notes. I don't I haven't seen gameplay
too much. I guess there was like a rule
book that you could have read at some point, but I haven't looked
at it And they've, you know, because they want to player
feedback and be like, does this, does this does this make sense
to you guys? Does this explain it thoroughly
and clearly? Or do we need to change the the
the wordage? Oh, you won't know until you
actually start playing it, right?
But, and yeah, I did back it I, I did the Hellstone pledge.
So I, I got the neoprene mad and everything, the cards leaves
everything for it and it all comes in and it's really nice,
neat box. I like the whole process of it.
They were like, Oh yeah, like if you, if we reach this much
pledge, this is when I was still on Kickstarter.
If we reach this much pledge, then you'll get printed 'cause
it was just originally wooden blocks, you'll get printed
wooden blocks instead or plastic piece, something like that.
And then yeah, yeah, if we, if we get this much pledge, then
we'll get instead of just a blue king slime, you'll get a clear
blue king slime. And then that's pretty cool.
That's pretty cool. Yeah, and you can you can kind
of take off. It's weird, like the outer bit
of King Slime to make him smaller and then the crown will
fit back into place. It it, it looks it's solely the
shape of King Slime too. It's it's really cool.
Everything about it is awesome. And.
Yeah, they've just been hard at work trying to get everything
smoothly. And there was even a point with
the tariffs where you're like, oh shit, right when the tariffs
hit is when the Kickstarter happened and they were like, we
have ultimately made decision to to tank the hit.
I'm like, thank God, thank God. Good people.
But I, I cannot wait to play it. It's, I think it's going to be
fun. I'm not sure how long the game
is, but I think it's one to 688 players, not like that.
And you have your player card right?
Well, you have the armor cards and it's all clear, so you can
just place it on top of your player card and it'll your
character will look like they have the armor on.
That's cool. That's.
Fucking cool. It's.
Really fucking cool. Dude, yes.
Now now is it is it a Co-op game or is it a PvP game?
I don't. Know I know it's Co-op but I'm
not sure if PvP is a factor. I wouldn't.
I would I would say I'd be surprised if it was a PvP
aspect. That sounds more like an
adventure type game to me. Yeah, I'm.
Not sure how many bosses there are either.
I believe they have. I have sorry Brain of Cthulhu.
I think I may, yeah. I have Cthulhu in which I think
you can swap out the the eye, eye and then put in the mouth
instead for the second phase that's.
Cool, that's awesome. That is such a great.
Detail I know and and I think with the king slime you can get
like little tiny slimes too to go with it Not many yes, I I
have to go back through it. I might be speaking some shit
out of my mouth with this yeah pinch of salt, but no, it's I've
been following every single every month.
It's just like Oh yeah, update 44 I'm like we're already on 44.
I remember 22 being last week. What do you mean?
I cannot wait to play that. That sounds like such a labor of
love it. Yes, Yeah, yeah, that's.
So it is. Like it's not made by I don't
remember who the developers of Terraria are.
It's not, but like the people that made it.
Yeah, I think it's fire. Forge or something, they I think
they're going to do a great job, yeah, especially with all the
player feedback, like all the player.
Feedback. It sounds like they're taking it
seriously, which is something that that I really do enjoy make
it as. Good as possible, yeah, but.
Anyway, going back I think there's going to be Bring the
Cthulhu Eye of Cthulhu, King Slime, and B&B.
I'm not sure if there's any more past that, but that's all I've
seen. There's got to be more past
that. I mean it.
Might already be a pretty long game with just those 4 bosses.
Cause. 'Cause as you move around, you
literally take cards off the top and you start placing the world
piece by piece. Oh, that's so.
Cool, that's. Cool, you have your.
Spawn and you can move left or right and be like, all right,
here's the left or here's the right piece.
But then you I I think you start off with three cards.
You can move underground and everything and that's cool,
yeah. That's really cool.
I cannot wait for this. Well, Brandon, do you have an
idea? I again, rules are either a
video game that you want to see adapted into a board game or a
board game that you want to see adapted into a video game.
So monopoly. Doesn't count, I was going.
To say it's got like. Multiple iterations I was going.
To I was about to say like monopoly does not count, no.
That is. Not it's just themed yeah, it's
not a like whole new game Yeah it.
It's just Oh, yeah. So having a, a little bit of
knowledge of some already, like made a video game adaptations of
board games. I know there was one for Mario,
so I believe there isn't one for Sonic.
I don't think as far as my knowledge goes, like it's, it's
hard to make a like, let's say like Mario or Sonic.
They're kind of hard to make into a legitimately good board
game just because they're. They're, they're, they, I, I
think, I think the platformer's kind of very limited on that,
yeah. Because.
Because the game's mechanics don't really translate well like
Terraria. That game translates really
well, yes. Yeah, yeah, but but.
Something like a platformer. Traditionally I I can't really
see it unless if hear me out you take an adaptation of like Mario
Party. That at that point.
At that point. It's already.
In a video it's already in a board game format.
Yes, you could probably do something weird about the the
mini games but I mean. There was a person or yeah, a
person on YouTube that made, I think it was for a charity
stream. They made Mario Party into a the
actual phys. There was four people playing
and there was an announcer. I think he was dressed up as
Toad and everything and Toad that was in the shop and be
like, oh, what would you like to bridge this and everything?
Oh, that's cool. Yeah, so when someone.
Was dressed up as Bowser and he was stomping around.
It was. It was funny as shit.
I guess. Kind of.
Does that mean I can dress up as Goomba and I have to smash my
face to interact with everything Goomba?
Fuck you. I'm just thinking about Mario
Party or oh shit he broke it over the case.
You guys remember that that one mini game of Mario Party where
you have 3 characters on the outside of the the balls that
you had to hit to try to not or or to try to hit the sequence I.
Don't know what you're talking about.
Which one? So So what game I.
It's a mini game where it's a 3V1.
Yeah. Sorry, what?
Mario Party God, if you can remember 'cause I played Eda's
cart, yes, I can't remember. The specific one I I can
describe the mini game. Oh, OK, go.
For that then, yeah, so. You have a A.
You have a diamond of just red balls that you have to hit in
one glows and you have to hit all of the glowing balls within
a certain time limit. OK.
And one person, the one person on their own, spawns inside and
the three other people spawn outside.
And for all the other characters it's a punchy animation.
But with Goomba you just charge head first into him because he
got no fucking. Smashing your face.
Into everything. Oh.
I think, you know, you're talking about.
Yeah. OK, OK, Now I, I was trying to
imagine that I was following you.
Following you. I'm like ah.
So so in the real life one just dress up as Gooba.
The only thing you could do was just cod.
Smash your fucking head into it. That's that's funny.
Jesus Christ, I'm thinking. I wonder.
How like how Fallout could be in like a like it's own.
Yeah, I know there's like a there's like a card game.
Yeah, there. There's like a Fallout card
game, but there's also like themed Fallout games like we
have a Fallout monopoly yes I mean, but a stand alone like
tabletop RPG that could be good yeah I.
Was thinking like what if it was a instead of a board game, it
was a tabletop game much like Marvel, Marvel, Marvel Crisis
Protocol or. Or like war.
Hammer Yeah. D&D.
Yeah, like. See that?
I think that was like where you. Could like pick three figures
you have. It's of a vault master.
It's. AI was thinking like, oh you
have Preston, you have three dog and Rosie, I don't fucking know,
dog meat. Or something.
Yeah. Yeah, it's of a dungeon Master.
It's a vault. Yeah, it's a vault keeper, A
fault Overseer the. Yeah.
The overseer? Yeah, like that could be
something like I honestly would like to see that.
Yeah, that'd. Be pretty cool because I was.
Thinking what if we? I mean this probably not even on
your guys radar but double O 7 from way back when and throwing
that into a tabletop. So like.
So you're talking about like Goldeneye, Yeah.
Yeah, that's what it's called. So with Goldeneye, are you
talking about like N64 or are you talking like yeah, the.
64164 yeah, the old, old one, you know, we have odd job where
everyone fucking hated him, but yeah, Oh yeah.
Fucking odd job. Well.
You could turn that into a probably a good board game, if
not a tabletop. Yeah, I'm sure you could.
You know, you'd have to like figure out the rules and like
where you could respawn or whatever I can see.
It be a game of positioning, yes.
God, for sure, yeah. Kind of like that's a good one.
A board game version of XCOM. I mean, yeah.
That would be. That'd be something that that
is. Kind of in a sense cuz is it you
take your turn or you move a unit, the enemy moves the unit.
Yeah, OK, I was gonna say and. Then if you want to take a shot,
you have to you have to be within a certain distance of
cuz. That then.
You have to account for cover and then you do dice rolls.
So I only have played Spearhead. This is Warhammer.
This isn't 40K. This is just Warhammer.
Yeah, Yeah. And Spearhead is kind of its own
encompass thing. As far as I know, you don't have
point values. It's just you buy a box of an
army and that is your army. And they're pretty small games.
It's it's four turns and the game's over.
OK, but each so they're. Like little micro battles?
Yes, and. Pretty much you move your units
and you fight. There's more to it.
I'm not going to get too into it, but you move your units on
your turn and then you fight, and then they move their units
on their turn and they fight, and then that's one round.
You have three more to go. But it's not like you move a
unit, they move unit. It's just you move everything
and then fighting happens. Yeah.
That's pretty cool. Monster Hunter?
How would that be? Would that be a tabletop type
thing or a board game? I can see it being played out
like Munchkins I. Didn't even think about that.
Yeah, yeah. OK, now I'm looking at Monster
on our theme Munchkin. Yeah, I can see Monster Hunter
being played out like a Munchkins game where you have
your character, you can change its class, change its weapon
depending on the class, and change its armor abilities based
on the class. And then you just collect stuff
as you go and you get stronger. Like I I could see that working
out really well for the Monster 100 formula.
That would be. So good they don't, but that
would be so good, yeah. Yeah, Oh yeah, I'm.
Putting a 5050, I'm finding a level 50 plutonium dragon.
Oh, we're both at 62. I win, I copy it.
I hated you so much for that. What is?
What is this SO? You think you go ahead and
explain this so. In this game, you have you ever
played Munchkin before? No.
So there you start off in room 0 and you kick down the door and
then an event happens or you can like there's you fight a.
Monster. Yeah, but you?
Kick down the door, you fight a monster, and if you get past it,
cool. Sometime up into the.
Next group sometimes. There's a negative effect, like
let's say for example you fight a siren and if you lose as a
male or you have to fight it if you're a male, if you're a
female character, you can just walk right past it.
Or if it's in the case of Plutonium Dragon, which is the
highest? Yeah, it says like level 50 and
like 50. You have to beat power 50 and
you can equip armor and gear one handed 200 items.
Depends. Also like shield, swords,
whatever that that. Gimmicks for different
characters and stuff. Yeah.
And how how how the fighting works is highest number wins.
Yep. And so you have to keep.
Boosting your power level either with permanent buffs with the
items and the weapons that you're carrying, or with
temporary buffs for that round only.
Yeah, because. You have extra cards in your
hand because as you defeat monsters, you get rewards.
You can draw cards, Yeah. And Plutonium Dragon is, I
believe, if you're past level 6, I think, but he was on level 10.
And once you beat level 10, you get to the treasure room and you
win the game. OK, but Mark flips over the
Plutonium Dragon. He's like, all right, I got
this. I'm pretty strong.
So he starts playing cards to get to like I.
Was I was really strong that round.
I was playing as he a paladin. I think I.
Can't remember. Yeah, but but Mark, he was up
there in power and so me and my brother were playing and we kept
increasing the power. Like he was like, Oh yeah, I'm
52. The OK, I had five to the
monsters power. I had five to myself.
I had two to the monsters power. I had three to myself.
So it's like a fight, but he's like 65 versus 67 and I'm like,
all right, I want to copy the dragon.
So you have to fight two of them, doubling its power.
He's like, fuck you, because if you die to the plutonium dragon,
you'll lose the game. You're out.
Yeah, you. Just can't play anymore, you're
stuck. What the fuck?
Yeah. Yeah, I I got my power up as far
as I could. I was like, all right, I'm at
66. And then Ethan's like, oh, yeah,
now you got to fight two of them.
I'm like, fuck you. Luckily I had a card to get
away, but I was so mad because I lost, Oh my.
I lost the game because of that. Somebody else got to the room
first. I was like what the fuck?
That's that. Wow.
Yeah, my guy, I was livid. We should play my.
Because like if you're, I think 6 or below, he just flat out
ignores you. Yeah, but we should play it
sometimes if it's a fun game. But it sounds like fun.
I could. I could totally see a Monster
Hunter Munchkin game that would be that'd.
Be cool, that would. Be fun, Capcom, if you're.
Listening here's here's my suggestion.
Do it. Come on.
Do it also. We love you guys.
Keep up with. The good work.
I really hope that that my Monster Hunter Magic the
Gathering secret lair comes to fruition.
All right, I guess it's my turn now.
Yes, I. Don't know if there already is a
digital version of this, but House or Haunted House on the
Hill I feel would be really good with the with the digital
version. Most of it, because it's such a
complex game, it's very hard to keep track with track of all the
rules is just people playing a tabletop game.
And that would. Actually make it so much easier
because in the rules it's a if you are the bad guy at the end
of the game, you have to leave the room for a second yeah, as
everyone discusses what the what The thing is and you get your
own rule book if you're the bad guy.
But I could totally see a thing where it's turn based and each
turn you follow the the person that is currently playing.
Yeah, but it. It is so complicated.
I feel just having a a digital playing field to house all the
rules and deal with it for you would be really good it.
Just the just the set, the the theatre of the mind.
I can totally see it on like a 2D plane.
Yeah. And it kind of papery.
Yeah. And then you have your own
character that's also papery, but standing right up.
And, you know, they have their different orientations and
walking around and everything. Yeah, different animations.
But then like once someone goes to the basement, even though
you're on like you may like go, you may be looking at the the
base floor, like you can kind of see underneath because, you
know, it's just paper thin layers.
Yeah, I can just totally say that right now, yeah.
And like going back to one of the one of the, the, the hunting
events, I remember I got to be the hunter the one time.
And it's like, Oh yeah, remove your piece from the board, but
remember where you are because you're technically invisible.
What? I don't remember that.
And you had to keep track of where you are, so you had to
hunt down people and like, how can I keep track of?
This, yeah, Really my thing, though, is the one, the one that
we got when we played, I think the first time at my house.
It was me, you, Mark. I don't think Jared was there.
Emma was there. She loves that my.
Brother was there. Was it just the four of us?
I think it was someone else. I think it was the.
Four of us. Anyway, my brother became the
bad guy, so we had to like, leave the room and read his rule
book, whatever. And it was like, oh, yeah, so
there's my brother. He's the bad guy, but there's
also this monster. You can kill him.
He can deal damage to him and he can damage you.
But he will come back in a couple turns unless you have the
knife of evil, which I had. So I'm like, all right, I stab
him with the knife of evil, finishing him off.
What, like the monster, not my brother.
But it doesn't say anything about the the my brother dying.
So do we win because we killed the monster?
Do we still have to fight my brother?
Yeah. What are we doing here?
It's it's. Very complicated it it, there's
so many different minutia rules that is very hard to keep track
of. So I I feel having a digital
version of the game would probably be a lot easier than
getting people into it because there's so much organization, so
many things to keep track of. Just having something digital to
do it for you would be a lot better.
Beware developers, this is our suggestion, yeah.
Oh. I just got an awesome idea.
Go for. Go for it.
Please go for how would. You feel about make way in a
board game? Hello, yes, you just build it
like the Oh my God, that would be cool.
I'll, I'll. Do you one better?
So you know those old RC cars that race tracks?
Oh my. God, yeah.
That's what that yes, fuck. Remote.
Controlled little cars, yeah. Jesus Christ.
Fucking and and these like track pieces will be attached by like
magnets or some shit. Like the fuck cool that would
be. Yeah.
Developers, please God please please please please.
Like I am in a creative mood. The juices are flowing now.
We're getting up there. I'm still.
Stuck I only I only did one thing and that was Terraria
which is kind of semi already a thing.
Do you want me to take another one or?
Yeah, I'm still trying to think. Give me a moment.
OK take. Your time, go ahead, I got
cooking. Well, we already know this is a
thing, but the I'm I 'cause I think it's a thing.
Isn't Phasmo doing that a board game?
I think they are doing a board game.
I know. I know Dead by daily or or Yeah,
Dead by daylight. That's the that's the
multiplayer asymmetric one, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where where where you have the,
the, the the Hunter than the four survivors.
Yeah, yeah. Dead by Daylight has one.
I don't know about Fasmo, I swear.
I think fasmo does or or it's becoming a thing yeah cuz I.
Know, I know they're focused on their 1.0 release this year,
yeah. I.
Actually just got a really good idea.
All right, do it. So there's this game.
I played it. I didn't play it too much, but
it's called Astria 6 sided oracles.
You guys might know what I'm talking about and this is a
rogue like deck builder where you have dice instead of drawing
actual cards yeah and depending on cuz you're like, Oh yeah at
the start of your turn, roll 4 dice from your deck.
And so you do that and here's here's your signs that they
rolled on here's the effects that you get to play.
I was thinking if you even if you had to get 3D printed dice
or whatever and stick magnets on each side and then print the
faces of the dice, because you can, you can upgrade certain
faces of the dice during throughout the game in the video
game. And so the problem is there's
six different characters. That's a lot of dice and a lot
of mechanics. So maybe you know, two or three
characters, whatever and you just, they have these base dice
and you can take off the faces whenever you want Yeah, You can
still roll the dice and they'll stay in place.
Yes And you get, oh, you get to a shop where you can upgrade one
of your dice. So you do that, you take off one
of the pieces, you grab another symbol or whatever and place it
on there. And you know, as you fight
different enemies, they have different effects and
everything. I feel like that'd be a pretty
cool way to go about it, cuz Sleigh the Spire kind of does
the same thing where, I mean, they don't have dice, but they
have cards. Yeah, yeah.
And they have sleeves. And so you shuffle your deck,
whatever, as you upgrade a card, you take out of the sleeve, turn
it around, put it back in, That's the upgraded side, which
is pretty ingenious. Yeah, really.
But I think if you had that, like modular dice, you could set
it up how the game tells you to and then upgrade it however you
please. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that'd be
cool. Yeah.
But I, I feel like that would be a, you know, pretty big box just
isn't. You have to store all the dice
and then all the different faces of the dice.
Like it's just, it's just cool to imagine.
Yeah. Yeah.
I mean never say never. I mean, I highly doubt it, but
highly doubt. It yes, but.
I'd say for that game, but in a similar concept, I.
Don't think. I would say never, sorry, never
say never. For the concept in general of
modular dice and upgrading them in a game.
Yeah, yeah, yes. I could see some ways of that
being accomplished. That would be really cool, yeah.
So I this is not really a serious one.
I just want to Ethan's going to have a great face after this.
How about that that make a board game out of that one game that
made you rage? Soccer story.
Yep. There, there's my face, here's
his face, there it is. That's just a joke.
One. I could just he would buy it.
Fucking. Gotta spy.
It and then. Burn it those.
Goddamn athletic fucking track athletes of children wearing
diapers. That's those.
Fucking it piss filled kindergarteners sticking their
fingers in their nose, digging for boogers and eating them.
God, they. Just learned how to stand
yesterday. I'm I'm not that I'm angry.
Still my favorite episode that I've edited.
Fucking make these fucking babies.
That shit was so fucking Oh my God.
I'm just like. These little fucking babies.
You fucking edit it, read down the notches.
I'm like, Oh my God. Shut up, I'm not done.
Shut up, I'm not done yet. This one might be kind of
because I don't know, I don't know if there's just maybe not
enough substance in it, but like amnesia, how would you do that?
I mean the. Whole point about the game is
that is dark, dingy and scary. Yeah.
If you're going to play a board game, you need like to see it,
yeah. I What if they?
Close in the dark. There are there is a board game
that you can play in the dark, and the whole premise of it is
what? Twister.
So the premise of it is your campers and there's a monster
and you have to use tree coverage to hide yourself from
the monster piece which emits light.
And then on the monster's turn it moves and if it sees you, it
attacks you. And how you can determine if it
sees you is if your piece is in the light after the monster
moves. Yeah, yeah.
But again, Amnesia is more of a nation that it's it's it's a
horror based game. Yeah, there's.
Really like. I said not a lot of substance
there that could be trans, yeah. Like like, like I can see dead
by daylight. That's that's a very good
transition. But you know, Amnesia is a very
atmospheric game that I just, I don't think you can really
recreate in like a tabletop version too well.
Like even even Dorafromantic does have a have a board game.
And I like, I'm just looking at these tiles.
I'm like this, this isn't the same.
Yeah. This really isn't the same.
And it yeah. You have to have a healthy mix
of atmosphere as well as how can you recreate the feel of the
game? Yes, in analog terms, right?
Yes. So.
That's sort of the difficulty you're running into, yes.
I don't think Amnesia would be able to get a good analog for
that just because it's, like I said, it's a very atmospheric
game and you just can't really translate that well to.
Something that's tabletop and see something.
That's tabletop because it it relies a lot on darkness on set
pieces and sound, to the point where I, I, I think it would
lose quality in itself if you tried to adapt it that way, I
mean. Similar vein, I'm not sure how
this one would work, but what if there was a Five Nights at
Freddy's board game? I can try to see it.
Yeah, I. Can see it more based off the
1st yeah, yeah. Just just simply manage your
power and keep keep them out of the the security room.
You could probably do something like that.
It's just. I mean you probably have to like
do some play testing, I just don't know how you would smooth
out power with what are when are what slash, when are your
actions of you compared to the animatronics I, I.
Could see something kind of like Dice Throne where not not really
dice though that doesn't want to do it justice, but you you'll
have like power tokens that you have to manage of course.
And depending. On what actions you do during
the turn, you expend some power and you just had to you had to
last six turns or something. I think it could actually be
maybe? More than just.
But you would have to put it a lot of thought into it, yes.
I think, I think more than six turns because that's just too
short, but it's pretty. Short, but you definitely don't
want. It to be longer either, yeah,
like maybe. You, but you kind of get, you
kind of get the vision. It's more of a management, yes,
yes. Here, I'll just say it.
Resident Evil. There we go.
Probably you. You could out there.
That's what I'm waiting for. There's.
You could probably do something with it like.
Like if you were to go with like the action settings, you could
probably do like a Co-op game with that, yes.
Like I, I feel like you like going like let's say they like
maybe base it on like the second game or something that you know,
you're going through the RPD and all that shit and you know, oh,
they're zombies. OK, well then I don't know if
you use dice as like how much damage you would do.
Or. Some shit like that, like it
have to be fleshed out a lot or. Like an RPG of it too.
That would work well. That would be a good setting for
it. Cool.
So a game that would be really fun as a board game then?
This is topical Kirby Air Raider.
That would actually be kind of cool.
You don't have to do. Like the mini games afterwards,
Yeah, yeah, you don't have to exactly incorporate that.
Maybe some of them can, but where?
Where you can. Have a different, you can have a
different air ride, you can have different stats for it, right?
Yeah, like maybe boxes. Spawn on specific areas and you
can take your turns or whatever, yeah, maybe you can hit a person
or something, yeah, maybe you can get some things off them,
yeah. That that, that would probably
be good. But you make the characters
remote controlled. Hey, I mean this is crazy.
I. I've seen this more as like a
card game honestly. Well, I mean.
I see. I just see it more as like a a
board game like you, you have you have the map, you have your
pieces more characters spawn here.
Here's where the boxes spawn. Here, items spawn, whatever, and
you have like, tokens for each, I think, the health, whatever.
And at the end of the game, you add up all the tokens that you
got and whoever has the most wins.
Yeah. Yeah, and.
You could also, if you did like the the the top ride, you know
when it's like the you see the entire map I.
I When I think of you, I you're right.
I think act. Like behind the character type
of shit. I just.
I just think city trial, city trial.
Yeah, I forget top. Right exists, but that would be
cool as like the. Kind of like a remote control.
Thing, yeah, you know. It's just also like, how would
you do the the like copy abilities?
How the hell would you? You know that's.
Fair. Do that.
Yeah, you know, I've got. An interesting one, if I can
interject. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A simplified version of Stellaris.
Yeah, I mean, it's good. Where you where it just dumbs it
down to you have you have your fleets and it's just conquest
you have to. It's kind of like a mix of Catan
meets Galactic conquest from the old Battlefront Battlefront
games where you had to go capture territory, manage your
fleets, and expand your fleets. But you can negotiate or attack
other players until you're controlling the entire Galaxy,
and then different locations give you different bonuses.
Like say this planet gives you a bonus to alloy production.
This one gives you bonus to food.
I I feel like that could be pretty good.
I like a good old strategy game. Yeah, I mean.
That that that could definitely work.
Yeah. You got to know the one, Ethan.
Not really. Well, isn't that a shame?
It. Very much so is.
You got any board games you'd like to see get digitized?
I was going to say not board games, but I want to say
Roboquest, but I just don't think that's fucking feasible
that. That's.
Probably not feasible. The arena shooter probably
wanted no God. No, I mean I want to, I would
like to say sorry as. AI think I think Hasbro's pretty
good about making digital versions of its games yeah, I
just. I've.
Played. It that there is a oh, is there
a digital? There it is.
I'm sorry. Oh, OK, I didn't know that it.
It's old. I was playing on my phone a lot
A. Lot of a lot of the Hasbro games
are old. I was going to.
Say it's probably one of those disk games, yeah, I mean like a
modernized version it. And it was a lot of fun.
Oh, I bet it was good it. Was very good.
Fuck I don't know what about Wi-Fi?
Wanted board game to be digitized.
Well, like, like I, I think the big one for you was Haunted
House on the Hill, just because of how complex that game is.
I mean another. One if, if.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, go ahead.
I. Would say I'm not sure if I want
this or if it would be cool. I'm not sure.
But like you said, dice thrown, yeah, that is a pretty cool game
to play on a table. But I feel like it just it it's
it's at home on a table more than a video game.
Yeah. Although I I can really see it
because there's a lot of for for me specifically about once a
month I've been going over to my brother in law's with my brother
and his his stepfather and we've been doing Marvel dice Throme,
but they have a Pve element to it.
Or you have missions. You have to complete, yeah.
I've been wanting to get that, yeah.
It's interesting. There's a lot of setup and a
little bit of nuance that you have to kind of understand to
get into it. But I I definitely think Dice
Throne would lend itself really well to being digitized because
there's status effects that you're throwing around that you
need to keep track of, as well as the different upkeep phases
that you have to keep track of. I feel like dice throwing both,
both PvP and Pve would really just benefit from just the base
game getting digitized. A rule for rule that would be
really good. The only thing?
That sucks about it and this is in the rules.
It's just we don't play it this way is when you go to attack
your roll to see what happens. It's like on a six you get to
pick who you attack. On a five, you attack right.
On a four you attack left. Yeah, 32.
I don't remember. 1 Your opponents pick who you attack.
Yeah, you. What the fuck are we?
You could probably. Incorporate a house rules or or
or like something Debbie, like, oh, you select this and then you
could just target freely Yeah, cuz that's.
What we do, cuz it's some more fun that way.
Like fuck rolling to attack. Yeah, he's in the lead.
Get him. But yeah, no, no, I, I, I can
genuinely see this being made into a video game and it's, it'd
be really well received. I guess I, I just don't think I
can imagine. I feel like it's just it to me.
It's at home on a table, but I respect it.
Yeah, yeah. Mouse trap the okey.
That would not last very long, no.
That would. Lose this.
Appeal quick because the the whole point of mouse trap is to
watch the mouse trap work. Yep.
Dude, that is such a serotonin just fucking thing, man.
Yeah, I could watch it again and again and again.
You want to. Know that reminds me of what the
old Cartoon Network Flash game where you're playing is.
Tom trying to build a mouse trap for Jerry and you can go super
fucking convoluted. Yeah, this is crazy.
I miss those fucking games, man. I do too.
The game. Where you have like pieces on
the side and the ball just rolls off and you try to get into the
cup. Yeah, I can't.
Remember it? You're talking about the game
from school, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, until you.
Realize you can just pick up the ball and put it in the hole,
yeah. Yeah, we're old, but what's fun?
With that, yeah. Like a.
Hockey stake in like 2-2 triangles or whatever yeah pull.
Oh my God, a hammer or something?
God trying to get the. Ball to bounce off of something
yeah, I miss those days, those old Flash games, man, I.
Remember in the like the computer lab or whatever, or
like, you know, you've done your work.
I played a lot of Sonic Advanced Flash.
You know, there was a lot of talk about Oregon Trail back
then, and I've only ever played it once, and this was for a
school grade. Yeah, I generally don't see old
people fail Oregon Trail because every single time I've heard it
like, Oh yeah, like, they have dysentery, but then nothing ever
happens. They always make it to Oregon
Trail. I made an Oregon Trail.
Sorry, Oregon I. Want to say that's more of like
the, by the time we got into school, you're past the really
old jinky digital early phase and you're getting into the more
refined digital age as they're trying to teach us all how to
use computers at the time. But I, I, I think, I think if
I'm correct, I think the older versions of the game were a lot
more brutal probably. Yeah, God, I remember.
This is unrelated, but I remember in what was it at our
elementary school, you know how they had like the the computer
set up where people are on the inside and people are on the
outside? Yeah.
So the the one teacher maybe, well, maybe it wasn't one.
Maybe it was just, oh, there was there was a lady there that was
like, all right, here's a piece of paper, here's the website.
Type in www.imlike. No, I'm just going to type in
the fucking website. Forgot the HTML and everything.
Yeah, to type in the website, I mean.
You didn't need to, but they didn't know.
No, they. Didn't I'm just like?
It takes you to the. Same place.
Come on. It's really funny.
I know we're getting off topic, but I think we kind of hit the
well on that on the the board games idea.
I think so. Yeah, but it's.
Fine, I I looking back at learning computers in school, I
feel like we all do a lot more than the teachers understood
themselves. Oh yeah.
Oh yeah. Well, because.
I quickly realized that you don't have to type in www.html
the goo colons forward slash forward slash like whatever.
Yeah, you didn't. Have to do.
That here's the thing. Back back when computers were
new to them, you had to because there wasn't any auto filling,
right? But that's what they knew.
By the time we started, we were in like Windows 7, Windows 8
era. And a lot, a lot of web browsers
were smart enough to be like, oh, you're pretty much going to
do http://www.say. Maybe not Windows 7, definitely
not eight. Yeah, but this is like in
elementary school. Yeah.
Even if there was no auto fill it was just I typed in the
website without the HTTPS or the www.and like it would just take
me to the website anyway. Yeah, or.
Or if you went to Google, Google was still a decent search engine
at the time, so we just. Bring.
Up the site for you and be like OK, cool, just.
Just a funny memory I had of like watch this scratch fingers
like like a hacker man trying to get into it.
Do you remember? All the Mavis Beacon, What was
that? That was the typing program to
teach us all how to type well. I hated that because at the time
in in high school, I did the oh, you.
Did the fingertip, You did the. Index fingertip I did.
I did that horribly and I I still don't even follow the home
rule, home row, these I don't, I don't do that.
I don't think a lot. Of people do it, it they it just
type the way you type, yeah. I mean, I think.
It's cool that you can be like looking away and be like what
the fuck are you talking about while you're just typing an
e-mail or whatever. I I want to say that I figured
out how to do that, but that was out of necessity of working or,
or doing school work in, in computer science, yeah.
Fair enough, because. After some point it's like I I
can either learn how to do this better and save myself time, or
keep just trying to look at it and and still feeling miserably
and wasting a lot more time. I've tried.
I can't. I can't do it.
Oh. I can I can do it to ATI is
scary. I've tried.
It I'm like, you know, maybe I should try this.
I'm like, WHY space? I mean, Nope, this is just.
It, it is a skill that I'm happy that I learned because I use it
so much with work, especially with typing out like test
documentation or working, working on just like reports and
stuff. It seems to be so much time to
just look at the screen, making sure everything I'm typing is
right. And then if I need to back
space, back space, space space, just my mind is just on the
words themselves instead of the keyboard because it's muscle
memory at this point when I used to.
Work in an office? I asked people this.
Have you ever tried thinking about changing to a different
layout? Cupid layout.
So you're talking about like going to ergonomic or something?
Yeah, 'cause there's there's QWERTY, but then there's also, I
don't remember any names, but there's another kind of popular
10 you're talking. About different like, like style
entirely, yeah. Where instead of QWERTY it's
like US I/O J or I don't, I just wouldn't.
Throw me up. Maybe, but the the problem is
that I'm so used to QWERTY. Well, yeah.
That's how it would. Throw me off 'cause.
That's the that's the one that was first introduced.
But people say that it's not the most quote UN quote efficient
format for a keyboard I I. I don't know how.
The problem? Is is that QWERTY is standard?
Yes, Yeah. And everybody knows QWERTY.
And you can. Only be so efficient.
Yeah, and. Honestly I I I could just love a
less of a shit but I'm like you know what if I did try it
differently just to say I did. What if I like it more?
What do you? I don't know.
I never have. I could see.
The moment you trying it, you're gonna go right back.
Yeah, I could see it. I.
Feel like it depends on the mood because I had I tend to know
that I have a build up to something and I'm like fuck it
at this point let's just try it. Yeah, that's what I did with
crochet. I'm like, do I?
Do I? Let me just jump into it.
I think I. Do, yeah, I kind of wanna do
crochet. I really want it.
Let's do crochet. Yeah, I have that build up to
it. Yeah, yeah.
I admire. It And that's fair.
But I, I think it just on an individual basis, sure, go ahead
and give it a try, see if you like it.
But as like a societal thing, no, I, I, I can't see it because
it, it, it's standard. It's like trying to here's a
good, here's a good reference point.
It's trying to convince more general groups of people to
switch over off of micro off of Windows onto a different
operating system I think. What has to happen if we were to
change that is, and not everybody.
It's just the people that are learning.
The kids. Yeah.
The kids that are learning it, yeah.
But then, but then you come to the problem of, yeah, this
generation of kids growing up, Yeah, with the new system, but
everybody still that's like 40 years older than them still is
still using QWERTY, right. So now companies have to use two
different keyboard standards and it just becomes a mess.
Yeah, like it's standards are not easy to change.
No, not. At all and.
It's one of those things where it's not broken, don't fix it.
Yeah, of. Course, And, you know, people
can easily reach 130, which is like the benchmark, yeah.
But I mean, yeah, if you wanted to try like a different layout,
fuck yeah, go for it. Like what?
You know, don't let anybody on a personal.
Level go go him, go free with it.
Fuck yeah. But.
As a measure of changing society, Ain't no way it's
fucking happening. I'm sorry I.
I I do, trust me, I've like all of that thought forever, but,
you know, just. Why not?
What if I did? Try another keyboard layout,
yeah. There's nothing wrong with that.
Well, we are at time. Oh wow.
Yeah, keyboard discussion for 20 minutes all cuz of one stupid
memory. Riveting when I was in
elementary school. I saw that overload light.
Jesus fucking Christ. Stop it.
Oh, hello. All right, go ahead and do it
again. There it is.
You'll you'll experience that later and record in a Yeah, I'm
gonna. Fucking forget and I'm gonna be
like, I had my fucking headphones on and fucking look
at it something I'm like, you know, my Max will be here on my
left. Look at my fucking TV reverting.
