Hello everybody, and welcome to plug in for player Four. I am Mark and I'm accompanied by Mr. Brandon. Hi and Mr. Ethan. Oh my God. Christmas, it's just two weeks away. It's Christmas. It's Oh my goodness, guys, two weeks away. Aren't you excited? Christmas. Holy shit he's already on a sugar hide. It's not even Christmas yet. This is great. My humbug. Aw. You're 1. Of those people. If I was truly one of those people, I wouldn't be around. Christmas is. Fun, dude. My, my OK. My brother called me a Scrooge one year because I didn't want to participate in the family event that they were doing.
I'm like, oh, like put $20 in. I'm like, I don't want to do this Is he stop being a Scrooge? I'm like, what? Just 'cause I don't want to do one thing for Christmas makes me a Scrooge. Why do you have to put money into the fucking favorite? 'Cause it was like, 'cause it was like a like, buy a $20.00 gift and then it's white elephant where you get to pick a. Present. It's one of those. That you get a number or whatever you you call and then you pick a like I'm like, I don't want to do that. That's fair, That's fair.
Anyway, that was that was years ago and I don't even get together with that half of the family anymore, so. Fair enough. Holidays are one of them. Times when family is your friends are your family. Me right? Me. That's why I've always seen that. Well then, anyways, I guess since we're getting into the mood of the Christmas spirit. Yippee. Instead of being so jolly, let's talk about stuff that has been naughty. Oh no. Now that's going to be taken in a multi. Boo Boo, Boo, multi Boo multi Boo. No, it's not good.
It's not going that direction. So you seize that thought, Mr. Brandon. Damn it. We're talking about games and stuff that just actions or anything that would be considered going out to the naughty list. Stuff that's not so very nice in the gaming industry I feel like is pretty fitting for the Christmas spirit. I already got one. You got 1 you just want to talk about. So. Receive some Christmas spirit
Get. Ready to receive some Krampus spirit? Oh boy. So I don't like that. There's this game called Forager, Brandon. I know you know of it because you bought it. Now, yo, this looks kind of fun. And actually, it's fun. What game? Forager. Forager. OK. But this is considered a naughty game. Not the game itself. The game is pretty fun. I was gonna say it is. It's fun. This game, like when you open it up, you can look at I think comics or whatever, and you can talk about like this developer's story of all, like, oh, like my something about my parents and like doing this.
And then like they started believing me. Oh, I can't remember. What's not said about this is that he basically used people to make this game. Oh, that's naughty. Oh, the developer did. Yeah, so this is this is advertised as a solo developer game is this, but it's. Not. Is this kind of like the Chucklefish scenario with with a Starbound? I think so. Let me do some more research. But yeah, like, like I said, like there's a comic just in the game itself, it's like, and it like it makes it sound happy, but it's really not.
What is it called? It's called.
What did he say? Forager. Yeah, forager. Yeah, forager game.
Well, he's searching that up. Yeah, as I was saying, this kind of reminded me of what he was describing of the developer Chucklefish when they were developing the game Starbound. They used a lot of free labour when making the game and there there was a whole bunch of backlash with just the conditions the workers were facing with the development process and stuff about just the story getting truncated because they were trying to save a few bucks I guess or something. Just really shitty corporate behavior from the small developer.
Just not treating the people making the game with respect, not paying them and just being overall just kind of douchebags with it.
And it it is sad because there there was a lot of hype for the game and it had a really strong following. People were really interested. And just goes to show that if if you're a dickhead in the industry, people will notice and they won't take too kindly to it. That's what it was. So hot frog. Oh OK, underpaid staff and then blame them when the multiplayer update just like wasn't able to happen. That's what it was. I thought it was something else. Like I thought it was like advertised as a solo development but it wasn't.
Yeah, that's so scummy. But yeah, no, that's just the game is fun and I already bought it, but sadly before I figured that out, Yeah, but it's one of those things where I kind of try to. Avoid it the best that you can. Yeah. But also like, in a sense, take the author from the right or from the bug, Yeah. You separate the art from the artist. Yeah, that's what it does, Yeah. But also like, I do know that it's tragic. So. Yeah. All right up on the naughty list. Hooray. Number one. Number one. All right, Mr. Brandon, you got something for the naughty list?
Yeah. Oh, boy. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, he. Oh, look how he's excited he's getting about the naughty list. Oh, what a naughty boy is that that? Kind of naughty list you horny fucks. Oh oh. What do you expect? We're gamers. Oh my bad, we are horny, yes. Wait a minute. And this is getting to monitor so fucking fast. Nah, Nah. Wait, what? Monetization. We can. We can do worse, no?
This is not to give her word of power, please. Please don't. I wasn't going to do that. You didn't have to say anything. I'm not a 2017 Swedish man on a bridge. Jesus. God, that is a. Reference. Wow. Yeah, that is. Your brain goes far back so. Many memories. I don't let things go lately. So for me, this is not necessarily a game. It is. Yeah. But not. OK, what you got? The whole controversial bullshit with GZ Doom the source port. OK. So GZ Doom is a source port that people use for different mods.
You know what I mean? You need the Doom Wods in order to actually use GZ Doom because it doesn't come with it, because that's, you know, this this source port is under one of those licenses that can be then put out, but it I don't believe it doesn't get any revenue as far as I know. I'm not entirely sure, but the recent controversy for Jeezy Doom once again is with the lead developer. His, I think his name is Graf Zahi. He's a a German developer. OK. He's been kind of known in the Doom community as kind of an asshole.
Oh no. He's just very power hungry, very like big headed, all that crap. No, boy. Well, one of the recent versions of Easy Doom. Apparently he pushed in AI code. Oh. Boy. And I did. Just just before you go any further, having a background in computer science and specifically software development, that just fucking hurts. It does. It that, that that's just awful. That's I say what you will, whether or not you like AI or not, but I am not a fan of vibe coding. I find it, it's it's lazy. Like like, yes, you can, you can prototype your ideas, but that's what they should be as a prototype.
And then you go in and you do the work yourself because you could verify that it actually works and that you could actually be able to troubleshoot it in the future. Don't push code is a final product. Just I I would see it as it's a helpful tool for you to prototype something, but don't make it an official part of your build. That's just. Yep. That's just a recipe for fucking disaster, but go ahead. So, yeah, he did this without the his team's knowledge and they they found out about it and we're not happy.
And they were questioning him about it and he basically took their concerns, threw it back in their face.
And also this could be, they're like, I don't know if this is really going to go anywhere, but this could raise some legal concerns because you're this is a whether you like it or not, Doom is an IP. Yeah. Even if you're using a source port is an IP. Yeah. And we're lucky enough to have the source code for Doom out there from was it John Carmack, I think his name. I think so, I can't remember. He put that out long time ago for everybody to use it so they can make their own games. Yeah, well, because of this, all the shit going on with the AI code, him this graph or whatever the fuck you say his name, treating his team like shit.
They all left. They literally left him behind. There is now a new source port out that's called the UZ Doom, which I recommend using that because that does not have the as far as I know, the AI code is not there Yeah, they're it's supposed to also have some advanced tech in it as well. But it is built on the foundation of Jeezy Doom.
But I feel that this really that developer is on the naughty list just because like you're not even just the AI shit, but you're treating your team like shit expecting them to do everything for you and. Then they just up and leave because. Yeah, and he, he even said he's like, well, if you guys don't like it, make your own fork. And they did. And they did, which a fork being a kind of deviation away. From the regular project.
I when I heard about this, I was pretty pissed off. Yeah, because I love Jeezy Doom. Yeah, it's a good source port, and there are some there are games on Steam that use it as a foundation. Yeah. And now, like any games that are using Jeezy Doom right now, don't just throw away, don't play like that kind of crap. Don't do that to the developers. But moving forward, I, I feel they're going to start using Uzy Doom and I, I'd say I recommend everybody who who uses these source ports just use the UZ Doom.
Yeah, yeah. Leave Jeezy Doom behind because now one, it's not going to get active updates now because you, you know, the entire fucking team's gone. It's just one guy. Yeah, it's one guy. Who knows on the the stability or the actual stability of the code, Yeah. I mean, I don't, I don't understand why some developers are like that. They get a big head and we're, like I said, we're lucky to even have this shit today. Yeah, yeah. Don't bite the hand that feeds. Because I can tell you this much. I don't know if it would be ID or Bethesda, one of them, probably more ID.
They could stop this. Yeah. If they really wanted to and you can't do a fucking thing about it 'cause it ain't yours. But that's why I'm happy this team moved over 'cause they seem very passionate from the which I, I would recommend people go look up the controversy on this and go look at, I think it's on the Doom World forums. Look for one of the developers that actually told the whole story of what was going on. It was pretty fucked up. These people are working hard. Yeah, you know. But I feel that I guess technically speaking, yes, Jeezy Doom can be on the the naughty list, but I think I'm more so looking at the developer.
Yeah, like just the specific. What the fuck did? Yeah, why the fuck did you do this? It's uncalled for. You know, like I hate, hate me or not, this, this is not how you do things. Yeah. And you ruined a perfectly good project that everybody loved. Now you're on your own, doing God knows what, and you're left behind. Well, Uzi Doom will continue to flourish. Yeah. But yeah, get Uzi Doom, it's fun, and I'll also pair it with Brutal Doom. You'll have fun. I mean, Speaking of perfectly for good for projects that everybody loves.
If I may. Yeah, go ahead. Is Starbound. Yeah. So sadly, this is one of the games that was developed by Chucklefish. Yeah. If you don't know, Chucklefish is a piece of shit. Do your research. I I already talked about this earlier. Oh. Yeah, you did. Didn't. While you while you were searching for information, I was kind of highlighting it. It was similar to your situation. I'm not sure what you said while I was looking up, but what they what they did with Starbound, supposedly they didn't pay or they did I think like interns or whatever, like code coded.
Interns they did like. Free labor. Yeah, that's what it was, Free labor. But also, oh shit, what was it? It was like just dropping 'cause they were gonna do a whole bunch of updates and just. They dropped all their promises. Yeah. Yeah, I kind of, I kind of cover this, right. Yeah. And you know, I but one good thing about Starbound, though, if you still want to get it, if they still has AI guess an active modding community and some of the mods I think bring what kind of the vision was. I haven't really explored them myself, but I was looking up a little bit when I was trying to research this.
Yeah, yeah, So there's that. But yeah, I know Chuckle Fish can go fucking straight to the top. Yeah, they screwed over Start a Valley Starbound. Yeah, probably plenty of others. Couldn't even name them all. Well, I've got one that probably triumphs over that one. Really. Oh no. Are you guys familiar with the game company Crafton? Maybe. These guys are the companies that bought the company that makes Subnautica so. OK. What makes them go on the naughty list is they bought it. So they bought out the Subnautica companies so they can be the new publisher and they were gonna fund the team to make the game and to make it a little bit bigger than what they were promising.
So right off the bat there's issues. They promised bonuses to all of the staff members for making for, to if the game made a certain amount of profit in 2025, then they would be giving out I think like $200,000 bonuses to all the developers. And then the the actual leads, the dev leads, the and the the company heads, they were supposed to be getting a big bonus for good performance on the game and meeting deadlines and whatnot. After Kraft and bought out the company, they started to alter the deal.
So they went ahead and they fired the dev leads and the, the, the company had and they started trying to downplay this. They were saying, well, we weren't, we weren't satisfied with their, the quality assurance. We believe that they were taking the quality of the game. That's strike number one. These, these three gentlemen, they go off and they're starting to form a lawsuit against the company. That's issue #1 issue #2 Crafton has been pushing the game's release date further and further back, so now it's no longer even releasing in 2025.
It's supposed to release sometime in 2026. Theoretically this means that because they they're no longer going to be possible to make the the agreement set by the contract, all of these developers are no longer going to be getting their large massive bonuses due to game performance. They're just going to receive Jack shit. Also on top of this, the company is shifting the development to be AI first. There. It is there. It is. Great, So you fired the leads, Fucking Gray. You nitpicked your way through avoiding having to pay out the employees that you promised they were gonna get bonuses for, and now you're saying we're gonna cut costs and we're gonna go generative AI because it's the weight of the fucking future for a game that's one of the most hyped games on Steam.
Mm, hmm. For Subnautica 2. And to top it off, in their lawsuit, the the the three guys that they fired have been saying that the CEO of Crafton has been trying to use Chichi BT to come up with valid ways of breaking the contract's agreements without outright breaking the contract. Cod. Yeah, this is the cold hearted business bullshit. Yeah, so quite literally you you buy out the company and you tell them you're you're going to agree to this, and then you just do everything in your possible to just disavow the agreement while you still hold on to the company.
That is such fucking bullshit and the fact that you're taking an art piece of a game and you're trying to water it down with AI Yep, on top of it is just icy on the fucking cake. Get I? I'd say get right up on the top of that fucking naughty list that. Kind of. That definitely went up to the bullshit. Right. I was like, oh boy, I'm I'm ready to spiral today. Here we go. Oh. God. Fucking despicable. I'm sorry if you use AI fucking die if you try to alter your fucking agreement that was written and signed in paper.
Everybody now fucking die.
God. Well, do you want me to go next or you got something to Ethan, what you got? Not sure if it's qualifies. Do it. Sure, why not? OK, all right. Well, we'll see if this qualifies, but I'm going to call it Sony on this one. The entirety of Sony. I think I know where you're going and I agree with it. For all these exclusives that don't get boarded to PC or. Xbox, you're going on a different direction, but OK. No, this is This is more so I've. Got another Sony thing, no? It probably doesn't even qualify.
I just, I just want to play Astro bot man. So yeah, that that qualifies. I'm on the list, Sony. 'S Now my thing is, apparently the Supreme Court is hearing the case that Sony's trying to make. Or if you if you pirate any of Sony's property. This shit. So it could be a, it could be any other movies, any other video games. I think he put any other music, I don't know. They're going to the Supreme Court and they're trying to make the case saying that if Sony suspects you, not even. I know, I know, I know.
You're talking about, Yeah. Not they. They're if they suspect you of pirating, they can't even prove it. They just suspect you are. They're going to go to your ISP and tell them to shut down the Internet to your house. Oh, good luck with that. Yeah, good luck, you fuckers. Yeah, sorry. No, I just saw this on Twitter. That's what it was. And I'm like, good. I was scrolling, scrolling, scrolling. Oh, so anybody shut down your Wi-Fi? Not happening. Scrolls. Scrolls. I love that. I love that. That's good.
No, they're, they're trying to tell the Supreme Court we have the right to go to your Internet service provider and tell them to shut down the Internet that you pay for. This is not going to go anywhere. No, I don't. Think the Supreme Court is even going to listen? To this they are. They're taking, they're taking the case, they're going to review this. Well, even if they do and looking over this, it's nothing is going to happen. No, this is fucking bullshit. God, man, what a fuck I mean, I could, I could see yeah, Sony doing this shit, but you know, you know, how about you fix your fucking PlayStation Network from getting hacked all the.
Fuck, you know what? I want to maybe. Just pick your games more accessible. I want to call out everybody in the God damn world for being so, so happy. And lawyer, rules lawyer. Yeah, in this day and age, this shit didn't happen like 20 years ago. Everybody has been very so happy, yes. You know, just rules lawyer E. It's like the dog eat dog world now. There's no, there's no gentleman's agreement. It's just, oh, we have to. We have. To compete and destroy everybody now. But I will say, yes, I think they should speed up how they're, you know, somebody's trying to put out their fucking games on Steam like they have to speed the shit up.
Because like I would say like a year or two. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's pretty fair. Yeah. Yeah, that's fair. Like that's like, you know, they pay for their exclusivity because I know some Sony games come out on PC like immediately. I think that could be wrong. Spider Man or hell divers. Wasn't it the most recent Spider Man, right? I think so, yeah. I think so. Yeah, Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then like, some are like, Oh yeah, we're going to pay for exclusivity. Which I mean that that's at the end of the day, that's their.
Shit it is. I get. It but at least. But it's an at least. Get the port. Out but like at some point release it on Steam or you know. And when you do release it wherever, make sure it's good. Right. There have been some ports on Steam that have been just shit. Or like the Mortal Kombat 1 port for the Switch. You know what, you know, let's keep going. I'm going to call it Ubisoft for making shit games straight to the top. That's not that's not where I thought that was going. Yeah, I'm calling Saudi Arabia for buying Ubisoft.
No. Saudi Arabia, if you bring the fucking Dead Space 2 remake 2 fruition, my life is yours
please. Wouldn't that be funny? That's what pushes it, you know, like, OK, yeah. No, but it's just that everyone being fucking like so happy and go and tell you all these yeah, let's pet and everything blah blah blah. And it's like, and it's not even just video games. No, it's not. Like it's like other companies and shit. It's everywhere. Yeah, and it's like, can you fucker? Chill the the amount of copyright and stuff getting fucking taken is so fucking random. Like Facebook owning face for social media apps.
You cannot have a social media app with the word face in its title because they own that. They don't own my face. Yeah, well, wait, they I thought that didn't go through. I thought. I thought it did. I know we talked about it on a previous episode, but I thought, I thought you were saying it like they were trying to do it and it failed. That's what I thought you were saying it. No, that was a different company that. Was. That that was fucking Warhammer. They were trying to, they were trying to pen the word table because they were like, oh, it's a piece of armor and everybody's like, no, it's a fucking table.
You can't pen a word like that all right. Facebook patent face.
It sounds stupid, I know. It is. I don't think any company can do that. You'd be fucking surprised. Copywriting a fucking word. Yeah, OK, all. Right, it's more common than. The patent didn't work. Copyright, copyleft.
I can't find anything about it. I can't. Maybe it maybe it finally just went hooey. Maybe. Where's my father? There it is. Hold on, hold on. We'll get to the bottom of this. Well, while we're doing that, I have somebody to call out because everybody else has done it. So why not me? Go for it. Call of Duty, Black Ops, whatever number. Three on the shit list. Your AI bullshit and your unpossible campaign. Facebook has trade marketed the word face. Oh my God. But only for specific reuses like telecommunication services for chat slash messaging, not for general use like cars.
Yeah, they trademarked the word point. Of that, if you're not going to just do the entire thing, I mean, go big or go home. Yeah, so, so for anything to do with social media, you cannot use the word face because it's trademarked.
Well have a space if I spell it in a different. Way. Yeah, my bad. I I used the wrong word. I said copyright. No, it's trademarked. Trade, trade Mark. OK, Because that's different. That's different. What is the difference exactly? So. So copyright is it's your own original idea. Trademarked is. It's not your original idea, but it's such it's so associated with your brand that you want to be able to control it to keep people from having the same sort of identifier as. You Yep, gotcha. It's a. It's a weird thing.
The legal legal stuff revolving around ideas is always fucking weird. It's yeah, it. Is All rights reserved. Yeah. But yeah, yeah, black, Black Ops 7, whatever. Dude, fuck Activision. We've. Never made our game with AI. What's fuck Activision? You fuck? Yeah, but in particular, fuck Microsoft for deleting those. Oh my God. We know you fucking shit. You. That you. Know you fucking did it because it was so just overwhelmingly fucking negative. Yeah, You wonder why. Guess what happened when it got buried back up?
What? Overwhelmingly negative. Overwhelmingly not. Even. The game anymore it's just vitriol for deleting the game post. There was negative reviews about deleting the negative reviews, yeah. What a time to be a lie. Yeah. That is pretty funny, I'm not going to lie. That's zero fucking accountability in these companies man It's sad. Well. And I mean, honestly, like, it doesn't surprise me with Call of Duty especially, yeah. It's the same. It really doesn't. It's the same fucking song and dance every year.
We don't use EI in our marketing materials as we have a zombie with six fingers on one hand. And you can't pause the fucking campaign. But at least we have microtransactions and Snoop Dogg and Nicki Minaj and we have fucking Beavis and Butt Head. To be fair, playable characters, Snoop Dogg, an announcer in Modern Warfare, Yes. Yeah. Way back when, yes, but to the extent that it's like, oh, you're playing literally Nicki Minaj. That was kind of funny. And in a game that's supposed to be a really serious, oh, you have to take this game franchise serious shooter.
What do you think? Battlefield has been having a field day with them. Yeah, they've been running circles around them the entire fucking time. Not only do you have vehicles, you have destructible environments, you have large scale games where you can have 30 on 30 people playing against each other. You you have stable servers that aren't getting fucking hacked. Big battle, Yeah, Big team battle. It's just sad. That's why Activision and Call of Duty you are on the fucking naughty list. Oh get wrecked.
Oh, you.
Know. What would be funny if this was the episode that blew up? Boy would that be fucking weird. Yeah, do I? OK, actually, I do have one to call out. I have one to do it. Fucking do it. I know it's coming.
I feel the bubbles, they're coming. I think I pulled my back. You old fuck. It's like the picture of like the do with the picture of the do with Skyrim. And it's like, it sounds like pure ecstasy and it's like. Oh yeah, did you? By the way, did you see that he redid that photo? Yeah, Oblivion was. It for. Oblivion. Yeah, the Oblivion remake. He redid it 20 years later. My man coded.
Anyway, I want to call out good old Hasbro.
So Magic the gathering they're do. They are doing a Monster Hunter collaboration, Secret lair and all they did all but one card was a copy and paste onto an already existing legendary creature that really didn't fit the creatures. And even then Valestrax the jet. I almost said Pokémon the jet monster is an artifact soul ring. What the fuck? And a lot of people were arguing, well, it goes into the sky where the sun is and does a ring around and comes back down. I'm like, no, that's that's not how that works.
No, hold on. Full stop. Record scratch. Not how that works. But record scratch. Monster Hunter's whole identity is tied up into the literal characteristics of the monsters. Yes, you have. They are. You have to give them the the due service that they deserve. But yeah, like. If you if you want a good example, the fucking Monster Hunter movie shit fucking story, but Capcom was on the horn with them being like yeah, you need to make sure that if anything else, the monsters are done fucking right and.
And that's the thing, so fucking there was so much backlash about this. People are like, yeah, I'm not buying this. I am not buying this. And they've done that with other secret layers where it's just so garbage that people are like, yeah, I'm not buying this. And they still didn't change it. But then Hasbro was like, Oh yeah, we made a mistake. We're going to we're going to review this. I'm going to actually make them different cards. And I'm just like, so Capcom did something because there's no way they would just not do a secret layer.
And they were even like, we don't really do this too often. Pulling a secret layer back. I'm like, OK, so something something really big. Capcom probably told them. Fix it. Or we're fucking believing. Yeah, yeah, Really like Capcom. Won't fuck around. Dude, especially with the monsters. And like it was like it was like cool monsters too. Like there was bracket Dios. There was like I said, Valestrax. I think Nergigante was on there. Obviously Rathalos, think Diablos, even Glavinus. There was a plenty of cool monsters on there.
But then we're like, oops, we got yelled at. Again, I've said this twice already. Show the fucking monsters the respect that they deserve because there's the whole fucking identity of that franchise. You. Still can't believe they put Vela straight. I'm sorry, I've said this so many times. There's so many people. In fact, it's not even actual creature. It's A1 cost so turn 1 you can play it if you have a land in hand one cost artifact that you can tap it for two mana. Yep, double your manner right there turn your second turn you slapped down another land.
Now you have four man a turn 2. It's a really strong card and it's it's really reprinted. It's it's overdone. It's whatever you fatalis into. A really common card, pretty much. Dull. God that would be such a slap. Yeah, I think Fatalis was on there. Let me just double check. I would not doubt if Fatalis was on there and. Where's my Ray Dow? I know, I know. He's new. I. Know he's very new. I'm not sure if that would have made. It no, it wouldn't have because I, I. Maybe with the remake, you never know.
Yeah, maybe bring my boy on some cod. Yes, yes, it was Fatalis the black dragon. It was black, red and green. It's actually Zytora the Incinerator. A66 flying demon dragon. Where? Where isn't fetalis? Is there a demon? Yeah, also that's just weak. Yeah. Well you considering? Considering if he tells his disposition I'd say it wouldn't count as demon dragon. But hold on. But as a description. Hold on flying. So OK, whatever. Yeah, that's cool. At the beginning of your end step, you may sacrifice another creature.
When you do a deals damage equal to that creature's power to any target and you create 3 charger tokens. When the fuck does if they tell us have anything to do with gold treasure Like any like kind of horde? Last time I checked that's cold they turn off. That's exactly where I was getting at. It's. Fucking cold be. What the fuck? You don't know that monster. We haven't gotten you through World yet. No, we were no. Yeah, but take us on our word. That's something that you'd see more of a fucking Colvey tear off.
I mean there's a lot that has for us, but like holy fuck it gives me a headache. Again, it show show the creatures the actual fucking respecting. You know, I'm kind of afraid now. If they ever did a Resident Evil one, I'm afraid I. Don't think they would do better than that. Better like it would be decent. Cards. I don't know if it would get the same sort of reaction that the Monster Hunter 1 is. Well, no, Monster Hunter is. It's such a even though Resident Evil came first, Monster Hunter is so big.
Yeah, you know well. I'm not, I'm not saying that, but it's it's just the respect that the IP has for its own creatures. Right. Is huge. Like I, I, I can see Capcom going out of the way to make sure that their creatures are respected, but it, it's less likely for something like Resident Evil just because it's like, it's just zombies, it's mutants, It's stuff like that. It's like, oh, you can kind of float it around, but the monsters themselves for Monster Hunter you have to respect. I mean there's also like what I would love to see is like if they ever didn't Resident Evil 1 like the the like Mr. X Nemesis.
Did I could see there being like 3 different leons like oh like when he first got hired like Leon PD or whatever RCP? Welcome back, Leon. I'm glad he had a good first day. Holy. Shit like there was first day Leon and then there's like maybe. You'd you'd go RE two, then RE-44 and then you'd go RE six, Yeah. Can they have a Boulder card? Yeah, there's Chris punching the fucking there's. One, there's one in the Avatar set, there's a see. So what could happen? There's a boulder, I feel. Like there's a.
Boulder, I feel. Like Boulder finds issue with this card. I feel that there's there's enough there that they could do something with it. Yeah, but again. But I I don't. I don't. You could play a little bit more fast and loose with Resident Evil than became Monster Hunter. So basically with magic, it's just infinite monkey typewriter situation. Yes, it's going to be a couple years and then it's going to be here faster than you think. Well, for whether it's a secret layer, whether it's a set. If I if.
If it was a set, I'd be surprised. I would be too because there's not that much. I want to say there's not that much there. There it like there's a lot of ore but I don't I don't know if it could be a set. Anything that's like actionable, well, I mean. OK, the more I think about it cuz like even if you take 6 like they do with the with the Final Fantasy, how like in the bottom they had the Final Fantasy 1 through whatever. But to be fair, Final Fantasy is fucking. Cute, yes, but just like with Resident Evil, it's like, oh, like here's here's Leon and his partner, here's Chris and his partner, here's, you know, all these different characters.
And then here's like Lady Damesh crew. There's Mr. X, Mr. Sorry, Nemesis, but then you also got like Leon's gun as like as like an equipable or something like that. Like I could, I I could see. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, an an artifact equipment, but I could see enough. There is a lot. There 'cause there are many sets, like for example, Assassin's Creed. Yeah, there's how many Assassin's Creed games? There was 100 cards in that set. Yeah, that is not a lot for a set. For all the assets that you can take from that game, yeah, that's fair.
Funny enough, it's one of my favorite sets because I like artifacts. That's fair. I'd like to see what they would do with that. That'd be kind of. Cool, yeah I could see it as a mini set like Assassin's Creed. I'd be OK with that, Yeah. It doesn't have to be full, right? But I could also see it as a secret layer because it's not like it's the biggest franchise like Final Fantasy, but it's still pretty big. Yeah, it's still pretty big. It's a big franchise, but it's. I mean they did a Fortnite secret air drop so never say never.
Yeah, it's true. That is true. That is true. Oh God you made me just saying Fortnite made me remember the fucking repo bots. The fucking legs and then you pair them with the dances. Anyway, Hasbro on the on the naughty list. Also that repo bot from Fortnite is on the fucking list too. What, just because his legs are fucking? It looks like Patrick Star with the fishnet. It does. It really, that was the first thing that popped in my head when I saw those. And then later somebody drew that on Twitter.
I know. Yeah. I think I said that in the group chat. Yeah. Oh God. It it? I guess it could be. Worse. Yeah, it could be worse. Hey, at least it's not like one of those mini skins like Bart Simpson or something like that where they have where they're like just dangling and then like they have like an exoskeleton or whatever. Yeah, it's still better than How would Call of Duty handle Beavis and butt Head? You right. Just literally complete. It was not good. It was not good. They literally it was like 3D renditions of the actual cartoons just put into the game.
And it looked bad. I mean, that's what Fortnite does, but granted, it kind of fits its style call. Call of Duty isn't Fortnite. It fits its IT fits Fortnite style, yeah. I was going to say the style. Duties. Right. I'm sorry but that Simpsons collab for a season I tried to play on the map, apparently they dropped the player count from 100 in battle Royale to 60. The map was, yeah, it was full of references from Simpsons, so that's cool. Yeah, that's fine. But the player count, really. Because the map was so small and even then you were up everyone's ass 'cause it was still too small.
It's you could have had 40 and you would have been fine. That's how small the map. Was you want to know what this? You want to know what this makes me think? I don't know if this is to be true because I don't I don't really play Fortnite. I've tried it a handful of times and it it I just better or yells are not my thing. Were you playing hold on or you're playing build or no build? No build. Oh, OK, yeah. And I've I've tried build before as well but. No, don't do that. Yeah, no. No, that's why I was asking at first.
I'm like, OK, no build that was. The first couple of times I tried it with you guys, no, no, I, I, I just can't do battle royales. They just pissed me too off too too easily yelled. But hearing hearing that their servers dropped from 100 to 60 and they're making the map smaller, it's telling me that they're padding out servers. No, because it went back up to 100. OK, And the map changed, OK Actual season of Fortnite. OK, Because that was just like a like a little mini Simpsons thing. Yeah, OK. So it changed back back to 100.
Bigger map fit for 100 people. OK. OK. So, so I am just kind of grasped against straws with that. Yeah, OK. That OK, I. Mean because I was like that that's that's outside of just, oh, it's just a smaller map. That just sounded concerning to me. I was like, that's not really. No, they wouldn't. They wouldn't do that because not everyone makes The Simpsons. So having it there for more than a month, I feel like I'd just be like, no. This is a small little fun thing. It was honestly, I could see them doing something like that more, yeah, just just here and there for like smaller two things that they can't really tie into, but maybe, maybe.
But The thing is, they had like a whole season for Avatar going back to that. But like in they had like the skins and they have like the the scrolls like air bending, water bending, earth bending, fire bending, all that. Yeah, are. You fair. That is fair. And like they do Star Wars every year for May. Fair, Yeah. And they just add it sprinkle into the map. Fair enough. Yeah, see, that's the way to do it. Yeah. Instead of making it a whole thing. Yeah. You know, I don't mind The Simpsons, but I just, I don't watch it.
I've like, by the time I could watch them, I grew out of wanting to watch them. I was going to say because of my parents. Like they didn't want him to watch me to watch that kind of stuff. Fair until fair. That's fair, yeah. Even though I would definitely say The Simpsons is very chill compared. It's honestly very team to a lot of other stuff. Simpsons, American Dad, pretty much anything Adult Swim. Yeah, OK. Just about. Man, Family, Guy, there are some things. Yeah, although I wasn't able to watch Futurama, oddly enough, it's pretty tame.
It is pretty tame but like. Future of future of this world. Just kind of drama. For me though, it was like a Adult Swim. I'm like, oh, I get to watch the adult things, like as a child. After mom and dad divorced and her stepmother was like, Oh yeah, I don't give a fuck what you guys watch. It was like, oh interesting, a whole new world opened up. Fair enough, but. Yeah, so Hasbro on the fucking list. Oh. My God. Oh yeah, we, we kind of drifted away from that topic, didn't we? Anyways, back to the naughty list.
I just. I have something, but I want to see if Brandon has anything. You know who should be on the naughty list? What freaky Fred. Naughty. I don't courage. The freaky Barber don't get it. Sure, I think your tea is ready.
I think you need to take it off the burner finally. If we ever do, if we ever do a fucking funny compilation, we need to add that part and Oh my God. Just not even the lead up, just the just the whistle. Your tea is ready. I can't do it. I don't think you recreate that if you tried. I don't probably not know. No. But yeah, do you know Freaky Fred the. Barber I know and shaving this is a this is a gaming this is a gaming channel it. Doesn't always have to be. Fair. Hey, it was a couple times it wasn't.
Is there, is there a courage game? Let's see, can we connect this back? To actually, technically, yes there is, but it's built in dreams. That don't count. Actually, I wouldn't put it like to the side like that. I played it. I'm doing it anyway that doesn't count. It's it is so good. Yeah, I remember they did that. They did that Steam thing. I remember. Anyway, naughty list. Well, I'm going to stop avoiding the elephant in the room and. Oh, there he is. Nintendo. Yeah, yeah, they go on the fucking list.
So much scubby shit out of Nintendo in the past. Fucking. Year. Yes, they have. Don't worry. I've calmed down from last time. Yeah. This is the one time where he go, he go, he go. No, they they deserve it on the fucking list. You kidding me? Yeah, no, they do for sure. First scummy. You said. Butt.
No. Not well, do they? Does a Nintendo go all the way to the top of the list? Yes, yes. OK, good. I was hoping, because I know we talked about that, that one thing you're talking about. For me so far it's Nintendo, Sony, Crafton, Hasbro, Hasbro. Yeah, but but as an avid Magic player. Yeah, I respect your opinion. That's it's fair. But it's just been a shit show of a year for a Nintendo just with the whole power world patent thing and then just issues with anti consumer stuff with the switch to it's it's hard to justify say that.
Oh, Nintendo's the good company. They don't do stuff like this. You can't defend it anymore. Like even if you're the even if you're the most avid Nintendo die hard fan, it's hard to look at all the individual actions that the company has done over the past year and say that they're still valuing the consumers time and money from raising prices for their games, raising prices for their consoles, even though they say it's for the tariffs. At the same time, it's you're getting lesser quality in your games for a higher price.
And then it's just controversy after controversy from saying, oh, if we suspect that your Nintendo console has been hacked, we're just going to brick the entire fucking unit to to others to just literal. Oh God, just bullshit. Bullshit, just just bullshit all across the board this year with them it's it's been a rough fucking year for Nintendo from it's another just going back to the Pokémon thing for Pokémon ZA, which is how poor quality it was. Oh, you don't like the nice? The nice. Sticker. Walls.
The nice sticker. Of a windows in this French city. That sent me that shit was funny as well. With buildings that don't even connect to the fucking ground. Wait, I just, I don't even know what you guys are talking about. Have you not heard? Have you had not heard anything about Pokémon ZA? I've heard about it, yeah. The the whole game is is such a piss poor. Ohh I think you're talking about actual France. I'm sorry I got lost but no no isn't like isn't like the map loaded into all times? And I think it's it's all 2D as well.
Something like that. So all the textures are two-dimensional, yes. The map. It is one giant 3D model of the city, so it cannot be completely unloaded. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. And. Now, and on top of that you have your nice Windows stickers. Yeah, the. Sticker windows. Like I said, PS2 graphics, all the graphics are flat.
In a brand that brings in so much money to Nintendo in The Pokémon Company, this is the best that you can do. I just, I couldn't stop laughing. And you're trying to tell us that Oh no, we have to fucking sue Pal World because it's such a threat to our IP? Even though they're a threat to themselves, yeah. Damage yourself and you're going after this game being like, oh, it was such a threat to our company, but it's an arc RIP off for one thing, they're they're going with the ark model, so it's not even a Pokémon game.
Oh, you. I notice it didn't put 2. Into. That makes a lot more sense. I actually two and two together. They're playing Ark but with Pokémon. That's that. Wow, yeah, that makes I don't even play it. That makes a lot of sense. Yeah, it's like you're not, you're not even playing the same game. Just blew my fucking mind just now. I. Did not Yeah it's it's just arc with Pokémon. Hold on, I got to unzip my brain pants before you blow my mind. And they're going, they're going after PAL World. It's like, what?
Why are you doing this? You're completely different game genre. Like the the game just takes elements from your game. It's like. What like it takes aspects, it just iterates over it it. It's the whole idea of what if guns with Pokémon but it's taking place in an arc themed game. Dude, I even asked my brother about like Pokémon Legend Z Day, 'cause I'm like, do you literally skip half the half the game? Like you go from rank T to like rank H or something like that and you just skip half the alphabet?
I'm like, what is the point of this? It's like, Oh well, like after the story, you actually like kind of replay through it. I'm like, then what's the point? Yeah. Yeah, that's. What, Just put it at the fucking beginning? This doesn't make sense to me. If I really want to play it, my brother has it, so let's switch to I really wanted to fucking play it but it's just it it. This one definitely didn't grasp me as like Scarlett did. I didn't mind Scarlet even know it ran like shit. Scarlet had a bunch of its own issues, but at least they put fucking money into it.
And I honestly I had some fun with it. Yeah. And then it started to get kind of difficult in those legendary fights, and then I was. Like again, that goes back into the design issues of the game. I'm going to get a lot of hate for this, but I think the Pokémon, there's a whole can just fucking die. It's it's it's over saturated. It's the same game every year. I don't care who says what about the game or what current generation it is, what new system they use. It's the same game. You see the same Pokémon year in year out.
Molly. Charizard, it's my favorite, shot up. My my shot up. My thoughts are Pixar. They need competition or they just need to move on. Like all of you. Looking at all the Pokémon designs, it's it's very telling that they're running low on the idea trade. The last time I seriously played a Pokémon game it was whatever it was before Sun I think Black 2, White 2 that generation. Last time I seriously played a Pokémon game was Platinum. Actually, that was pretty much the only one that I like finished.
Mine was Pearl. Mine was Pearl and platinum. I like Pearl. I'd go back. I had I had other familiar reasons for having to drop out of Pokémon after that, but. You should but. That digresses, he said. Buddy game.
We found his real voice. Guys. What? Am I like fucking? Yeah, he's been using a voice modulator this entire time. Damn it, how did you know? Damn it, you do. You figured me out. But yeah, I was like Patrick was more in the Pokémon because he played it when it like came out. Yeah, the. Original like Game Boy and all that shit. I, I don't understand. I, I didn't get into it. Like I I love Pearl, but it wasn't something I was seeking out. Yeah, yeah. That was just. Well, I mean, to be fair, during that era, if you played one, you kind of played them all, yeah.
That didn't. Change. Yeah. Like there was, to be fair, there was a lot of hype just because it was Pokémon. And plus, like that was kind of like 2-3, four was kind of like the peak, yeah, also 5 for like kind of rebooting the Series A little bit A. Little bit but. Yeah. After that, it just got really. Just kind of just the IT was. It's still trying to do a lot of soul searching to figure out what it wants to be. Honestly, it's kind of having the Call of Duty issue. It is no. It is for. Sure, just too long of longevity.
Yeah, like, and I mean you like Pokémon Go for it. I mean, I don't give. It back to Game Freak like I don't know. You have fun. Game Freak still makes a. Yep, I thought it was Pokémon Company. No. So Pokémon Company is they they they sort of own the IP, but they fall kind of under Nintendo. It's weird. They're like semi. They're like semi independent semi owned by Nintendo. It's. Like they're their own thing. Jesus. OK, but they yeah, it's. They're related to Nintendo. Again, business shit. Yeah, but if you if you want, if you want to go back to just how shit Nintendo treats it, Breath of the Wild had a budget of like a couple $100 million.
Pokémon ZA had like 12 million. Oh, that's actually kind of sad. I don't know it was that low. Yeah, it, it's very low. Well, no one historically these games are very low budget. But like, come on, you had $12 million and the best you could do was what you gave us. Wow, they know. Not that, not that, not that you mentioned. And that really makes sense on why the windows were stickers. Yeah, but again, it it wasn't like that in previous games you had a little bit more detailing and stuff to it. Granted, it still looked like shit.
But I I can laugh at this, though I couldn't laugh at like if they didn't make this game like this, I wouldn't be able to laugh at the at a sticker window. Yeah, so they gave me that. That's. Cool it just awestruck. It strikes me just again, going back to Pal World, you're claiming that Pal World is such a great threat to your Pokémon games. I'm going to be honest, I think Powerwall is going to be like a one off, maybe a Powerwall 2 and that's it. I mean, they're, they're planning on making a farming game, like a Farming Simulator game, which I'm kind of interested in seeing.
Yeah, you're right, You're right. But still though, it's just like. They're not going to probably go as big as. You know, I'm going to be honest, there's a lot of Nintendo kitties out there that just like, well, Nintendo puts it out. I buy it. Yeah. Yeah. So like, they're not in. Yeah. No, no, they're not in. I personally. Think that they're going to diversify the franchise a little bit, but they're not going to when they when they're like, OK, we're going to make a new IP as well. They're going to stride to diversify because Power World made them a shit ton of fucking money.
So now they can actually put it into something else. Yeah, they can make a new IP if they wanted to. Yeah, really. You know so. And I can see, I can see them doing that. And you know what? Kudos to you. More IPS, more creativity. They are. Yeah, you know, so I don't think they really need to worry too much. No, but no. So I know. Yes, Nintendo is on the list. So have fun with that Nintendo you fuckers. Even though my Kirby. I want Kirby too, but I'm not paying Nintendo. I'll just bring my Switch over.
Play with me. Here we go. Yeah, I'm gonna come over to your house every day after work. Good. I'm not going to take. A shower. I'll still be oily from work. Well, yeah, my train of thought has left the station. Seriously though, I Elvis has left the building. Now that we got all those grievances out, I guess. Feels good. Yeah, this is time to go ahead and start wrapping up. I can now go to Anubis and leave my soul, and my soul will be lighter to the feather, and I can go to where to go Heaven. What is that?
Sure. Is that Anubis like the judge of the soul after the afterlife? Yes, that's what I thought. Yeah. And your heart has to be lighter than a feather. I don't know what they're talking about. I just, I just thought my personal favorite rendition of Anubis is the one from American Gods TV show.
No idea. OK. No idea if. You know, you don't, but it's really funny seeing the girl be like, I want my second chance. And he's getting to the coffee and he's like, it doesn't work lately. And she's like, well, why not? I deserve a second chance. And you see her getting fucking heated off back to the planet. He just looks out of the coffee. He's like, what the fuck? He's like, that's never happened. The fuck? OK, bye. I'll show. I'll have to show you guys the calculator, but it's fucking hilarious.
Anyways, we got the Nautilus done. We're getting ready for the holidays. There's lots to look forward to outside of all the bed. Let's get ready to start celebrating the holidays. Can you guys help me follow up this trade of thought? Because my, my creativity is kind of running low, right? Don't worry, I'll take over from here. Wow, Christmas only two weeks away.
