Well, what have we been up to this week?

I've been, I've been attempting to get through my book, but it's

been a hard read, dude. Not the book itself.

It's just like life. It's just been like, and so I

feel like when I go to read my book, yeah, when I go to not in

that way. Shut up under your minds.

I wasn't even sleeping that way, but I I, I, I was going with

like the caveman route when I unga bunga.

Cannot believe the time has flown so fast.

We are rapidly approaching the one year anniversary of the

channel. Which is June 9th.

That is when we first published our our first episode, which was

what games mean to us. I believe that's what that was.

Yeah. Yeah, I think that's the first

one. We've all three of us have

learned a lot over this past year with the podcast and.

Yes, we have. Me, me personally, I, I

basically threw myself in the fire and decided to, well, kind

of had to learn how to edit audio.

That was something I never really did.

I'm more of a video editor, not a audio, but having both of

those skills now is actually great.

It's never too late to learn. No, like seriously, like if

there's something you really want to do.

Just start it off. Just just get you just get

yourself into it. Yeah, just start somewhere.

Sit down, learn, and don't let anybody tell you that you can't

do it because. That's what I did with crochet.

Yeah, it's, I didn't think I was going to be good enough to edit

these episodes. And still, you know, being a

year now that I've been doing that, that's still a lot of

learning. And there's so much that's

involved with just editing audio that I, I, I've never, I've

never known. And like editing a podcast is

really not that difficult. That's, you know, when you start

getting into like actually producing music, having to

gadget, from my understanding, editing all of the instruments

to, you know, God, not even that like just starting off

songwriting, trying to get the music together.

Like what is it going to sound like?

Like there's there's just so much that goes into just audio

in general and it's overwhelming, but it is

something that if you think you're you think that you can do

it, do it. Don't put yourself down just.

Just keep going. Just I sat down, I bought Logic

Pro on the Mac and said, fuck it, you know, I want to do a

podcast. I'm going to need to know how to

edit shit. That's I just started and it's

honestly been a great opportunity.

I mean, I've been besides the podcast, I've been experimenting

with just different, different things, different techniques

through like I have a couple projects I've thrown together.

That's just, you know, you could call like music and whatever.

It's not anything that's special.

It's a bunch of like different things that Logic Pro has that I

could just throw together. That's just, you know, just

something I've been doing kind of trying to get better at this

'cause that actually helps with understanding what the different

plug insurance do and all that. It it, it's a lot it, it really

is. But like, you won't learn all of

it in a lifetime. But you don't need to know

everything or even a lot to produce good audio.

It's it's just something you got to invest your time in.

And anybody who's ever thought about doing a podcast that

listens to this, just go do it. It'll I.

Mean. Terrifying at first, but.

We started it in my game room and it's still to this day, it

hasn't changed in a year. Well, OK, aside from the

occasional online, which is what you're doing now.

Recording, yes. Yeah.

The the next two episodes will be this way.

But we just did it in my game room, and it's barely enough to

seat four people in chairs with how big that room is.

And we were able to do it. We started off with a mishmash

of Mike's, like Brandon had his Mike.

Mark had her hit another one of Brandon.

Mike. That's right.

It was a big Yeti, right? What?

What was it? It was a Yeti, Mike, was it?

So it was, well, it was going to be a Yeti Mike, but it's then

turned to, well, you know what, let's use like the mic you have,

Ethan. Yeah, 'cause I have, I have a

$70 mic that it just, it was part of $100 set.

So that was pretty cool when I bought it for streaming back

when I did that. Not that, that one anywhere, but

yeah, no, it's, it's still a pretty good mic.

And it had actually had the what?

The XLR port in the back. Yeah, the XLR port in the back.

And Brandon was like, you know what, like the first time I

recorded Brandon was like, I really like your mic.

Let's get more of those. And I just, I bought it for

streaming. I I saw the XLR port in the back

going, oh, that's weird, huh, Never seen that before.

Whatever. And it just so happened to have

what we needed. Yeah, yeah, the the, the way

that this podcast, what we do, like Ethan said, we're in the

game room. He has and soundproofed a little

bit, but definitely we can do more in there.

But it for right now it's it's honestly it's worked.

Really. Yeah, No, it, it's, it's worked

for now. I mean, I depending on how this

goes in the future where we we're no time travelers or

premonition people, but depending on those goes, we

might have something better later on the line.

But I'm perfectly content doing this in my own house.

Yeah. And I'm, I'm not talking about

them in my own house. I'm just talking about I'm, I'm

comfortable doing this in my own house, whether it's online,

whether it's they're here, whether in like in a

metaphorical sense at Mark and Emma's house, what we did on, I

think, Thanksgiving. Yes, yeah, that.

Was the thanks. That was the Thanksgiving

episode. That's what I thought, yeah.

Yeah. Yeah, no, the for people who

might be curious, the way we do this is I have a basically it's

a Tascam recorder that is a, it's basically called a portable

studio. You can literally make music on

this thing from start to finish. It's literally a portable

studio. Something me and Mark vowed

never to perceive. Yep, then they still don't to

this day. Nope, but we use that with the

three microphones and XLR cables recording on separate tracks.

Recording on separate tracks is good to do if you're able to for

editing everybody's voice separately.

It's just nice 'cause you have more freedom and doing what you

want. But if you're doing recording

like us with three people in the same room, the microphones we

currently use are good for having multiple people in a room

because these microphones are made in such a way and the way

the diaphragm's made is it only picks up sound in front of it.

Now that being said, depending on what device you use to record

said voices, you're probably going to want to have some type

of noise gate on or like just something to block out in case

the microphones pick up somebody else 'cause that can happen if

sound. Off.

The walls. High voice.

Oh God, he's gonna start skipping any.

But yeah, it's, it's a process, but honestly, it's it, it's a

lot of fun. And it's honestly been nice to

be kind of creative again, 'cause I used to do some stuff

with my buddy Devon. We did some like just stupid

fucking puppet videos or whatever.

It's like called Todd and friends.

Some dumb like Todd is always angry.

He's always beating up his friends because he's bad and he

goes in a bunch of stupid adventure.

Like it it. It's just one of those things

where something clicked with me and and Devon and we're like, we

know what we're going to do this, which we do have an

episode that is not released that we did record.

I did edit. The guys have seen it.

When he goes, Todd goes to the dentist.

That was funny. That was a fun video.

That's right. My buddy Devon was in town and

you know, we haven't seen each other and because he moved out

of our state and he just showed up at my house, man, right after

I got done with the shower. He's like, hey, you come outside

in the front, what the fuck? And then here's his ass.

I'm like mother fucker, We're like, he was like that scene

with Arnold and that one guy, you son of a bitch, and they

fucking hold hands and shit. If you know, you know.

And I just kind of got an idea like he was in town for a couple

days for his mom and I'm like, you know what?

And I asked my if you want to, I know you don't have a camera.

I've got an old iPhone camera works good my way.

Just record an episode for the hell of it.

If he was up to it and we did, and this is where I was able to

test myself with, again, audio, The difference between the last

video we did to this one is like a night and day thing.

Just even just like audio and video.

This, the skills definitely have gotten a lot better.

They've improved, but like I said, unfortunately with my

buddy having to move to a different state, moving, you

know, he, we couldn't really do this anymore.

So it kind of just got put a kind of the back burner.

It's not gone forever. It's it's something that I think

is just going to be just kind of there.

And if the time happens again like it did, I mean, you know,

I, I didn't think we were going to do that.

And maybe one of these days we'll have Devon on the podcast.

I've told him about it. I don't know if he listens or

not, but if you are listening, Devon, we'll have to have you

on. That'd be fun, even if it's

Discord. I mean, I wouldn't.

Mind that. I actually got, you know, this

is this should be like, you know, I'll talk about after.

But what I do want to talk about is the beginnings of this

podcast, like the from the very concept is me, Brandon, Mark and

check, I'm not sure if anyone else was there, but we were all

playing Lethal Company. And I'm like, you know, we

should start a podcast. And Brandon was just like

sitting there in awe, just like why?

Eyes wide open, dilated to the Max and like everything like,

holy shit, we could do that. We could just start, we could

just start a podcast. You're not wrong.

Like I remember after the session of Lethal Company,

you're like, I want to do this now.

I want to fucking do this. And then a while later, because

I believe we had Mark's wedding that he was super stressed

about, which fair at the time. And so we did it.

After that we did our episode 0, which we were.

We were so stiff. Oh dude it was bad like.

Go back, go back to episode 1 and we were still stiffer than

that. By episode 3 we were OK, I would

say maybe 4 and it's only gotten better from there.

But still, though, it's like we were, oh, it was bad it.

Was robotic. I still remember when we

recorded the first episode, you know?

And I remember it being hard as fuck to hit that record button.

Really. That was super hard.

I was anxious as a motherfucker. I was so terrified going into

that. I was more so like, I guess

'cause I've heard my own voice from listen to man's dreams,

whatever. Like I guess I'm just used to

that. I'm not sure how you guys were,

but I'm just like, I'm ready to do this.

And you guys were just like, OK, now I will talk.

Having that pause between everybody talking.

There was no overlapping, there was just.

No feedback, no nothing. Just like awkward silence a

little bit here and there. Not even here and there.

It was like it was after every, not like it was after every

sentence. It was every sentence.

Yes, like anybody like I know that it on like Spotify.

I seen like a a good amount of people have watched the first

episode and you are a trooper. I'll be honest, it was it it it

definitely was terrible yeah, I hated hearing my own voice.

I fuck. I still kind of I'm I'm used to

it now, but I still don't like my voice.

I think my voice sucks. I do, but you know, I'm sure

other people tell me otherwise, but.

Yeah, I mean. I, I was terrified of, I, I, I

was feeling in some way just terrified to get my voice out

there, get my personality out there.

Just wondering how is our dynamic going to I guess sort of

reach out to other people outside of the our friend group,

our close knit group of friends? Well, I'm kind of the same way

in you with you, Brandon, is that I?

There's times where I don't like hearing my voice or it sounds

like there's a frog in my throat or something.

But at this point, I'm just whatever, it's my voice.

I don't think you can do to really change it.

It's yeah. There's nothing I got to do to

change it. But like, that's not the point.

It's just it's me talking and that's how other people hear me.

Like why? Why should I?

Why should I care? That's how they're going to hear

me. Nothing I can do to change about

that. No amount of vocal training can

realistically change my voice in the in the greater in the grand

scheme of things. Yeah.

And I like hearing myself laugh. I still listen to these episodes

back and whenever I do something stupid that I found funny, I I

laugh. Like in one of the one of the

episodes you said I think it was octopus octopi and I said

octoppeople or something. And that was a reference to

Phineas and Ferb. And when I first listened to the

episode back, I said it on the same exact beat as I said it in

the recording. And I laughed, I hollered, I

laughed so hard, 'cause I hit the same exact beat.

Jesus, the timing I. Know.

God I. Love hearing myself laugh.

You do have a very characteristic laugh to you,

I'll give you that. Yeah.

Yeah. You have a laugh that's just not

repeatable by anybody, and it's awesome.

No, that's that's why I died from that one lethal company

clip with a fucking mark getting shot by the God damn Nutcracker

in the other room. I tried finding that on the on,

on your, what is it, TikTok? Yeah, I couldn't find it on

TikTok. Did you even post it there?

It should be there. I couldn't find it.

I burned myself out from putting that shit online.

Jesus Christ, it was everyday. Yeah, understandable.

I I know I have that recording somewhere 'cause.

You like it was your normal laugh, but wheezing it was like

it was stupid but it was funny. Did you hear Mark in all the

girl, we didn't believe you and you just ran right into the

And the fact that we both stopped, both turned at you and

then burst out laughing all at the same time.

All of this happened obviously on the same time, over the

course of a singular second. It was.

Beautiful. It really fucking was.

It was so good. It it you just couldn't you you

just couldn't make that shit up, man.

That that was just comedically timed.

And I'm like, you know, I'm going to get back at these

motherfuckers. Here we go.

That was wonderful. That, that, that was oh.

Like that's kind of something that came out of it with like in

addition to our podcast was the recordings of Lethal Company

'cause that kind of happened around the same time a little

before, obviously that was. Yeah, that was sort of the

precursor to everything. Yeah, 'cause we were playing

lethal company. Excuse me here.

We go. Probably maybe three or four

days a week, if I had to guess. Yeah, it.

Was it was a lot of. Weeks.

It was a lot, yeah. And I'm, I'm still down for it.

I still love it. Oh, same.

I I really enjoyed the last session after putting that new

brutal mod back in me. Too, I feel like brutal mod that

brutal mod is a bit much. It is, yeah.

Yeah, no, maybe not every time. No, 'cause we're not.

Like we're not really getting anywhere.

Yeah, with it, you know, I think we'll.

Play around with more brutal mods, but I I think that

definitely was the secret sauce kind of missing was just it's a

little bit too easy right now. Yeah, the other brutal mod is

like it would. It would be something cryptic

like the shadows are looking. Or some some shit.

Yeah, yeah. And like, Oh yeah, free landmine

day and there would just be landmines outside.

What are we doing where, God forbid, turrets outside?

Oh my. Christ that.

Sucked, but anyway. Dogs inside the building or the

bird inside the building? Dude, that one moon where where

the coil heads can come outside the dangerous ass moon.

Yeah. I forget what, but I I remember

when you're saying something to me so like you're talking shit

and I'm like OK, and I turned my head and the coil heads killed

you like that and I heard that shit.

I don't know what you're talking about though.

I'll have to bring that clip up that that was a while ago.

But so many good clips from the. But just, oh, this podcast just

kind of came out of nothing. Like like I said at the

beginning, Brandon was like I said, I set a side comment.

I like we could do a podcast. Maybe not those exact words.

It was something. Brandon the lines of Oh yeah,

how fun would it be if we did a podcast and.

Brandon could not just not drop the idea.

No, I couldn't. And for for a week, you were a

couple times you said, I want to try this, I want to try this.

And we did. Yep.

We eventually got there. And then episode 0 happened a

couple like probably six months later, maybe not that, but at

least three months later, episode 1 finally came out.

Oh fuck yeah. Oh my, I'm, I'm realizing the

timeline on this. Yeah, 'cause though we had the

wedding, yeah. And then it was like early

spring after everything settled back down, we finally get

together. We're like, all right, we're

going to do the the trial on Discord.

Yep. Shit, and we were even talking

like, doesn't matter how many episodes we do, as long as we

get comfortable with it. We did one episode like months

before the first episode came out.

And then we recorded the second episode on the first, you know,

episode 0, episode one for the podcast.

And we were just let's do it. Let's put it out there.

Just yeah, just bite the bullet. Let's go.

I figured that we would have gone like 3-4 sessions before we

actually put our first one out. Yeah, yeah.

But oh, we were just get out. Let's do it right here, right

now. Honestly only time like the now.

Yeah. No, there's the time.

Yeah, yeah. God that was horrifying putting

that out for the first time like.

Dude, I'm in bed like, as you like.

I didn't, I didn't think anything of it, 'cause all I do,

all I do is bring a space to the table.

I mean, obviously, obviously again, mine is the online stuff,

but it's still a pretty big thing.

But Brandon, you, you learned so much for this podcast and I

congratulate you for all of that.

And you still learn, and you still ask.

More. As with our YouTube as well, now

that we're doing YouTube, and OK, before I forget, this is

advice I want to bring to anybody who's listening that

wants to try their own podcast. Don't expect immediate results.

It's just like working out. You got to do your reps.

I mean, if, if we want to kind of discuss statistics, I mean,

for the longest time we've had like up to what is it like a

half dozen people on every episode?

Yeah, sort of like our best for the longest time.

Especially one of them being me for a fact.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we. It would be.

Yeah, about a half dozen of people.

Yeah. And.

Now we're up to what? Like what is it like 20th

episode? It's like, yeah, like 19 or 20.

We, we had a actually a pretty big influx of views come in.

And we're probably what happened with that is with the podcast

being on so many different sites that it could have for some

reason got somewhere on one of those sites that you can't

really tell what the analytics are because there are sites like

that, like iHeartRadio, for instance, that does not have any

statistics. So I I can't look at it.

But we're at we're we're finally seeing some growth.

Yeah, and. Even even if it's not a lot,

it's just. To us, it's a lot.

Yeah. Even with just one person

listening that that that's like, you know, we didn't start this

podcast to be successful. This was just something that we

thought, hey, this would be fun to do.

And it still is to this day. If it happens, it happens.

And if we ever decide that we're not having fun, why should we

continue if that's what we have agreed at the start and that's

how we're going to go about it, as if we're if as long as we're

having fun, we're going to keep going.

Yeah. I'm still having a great time.

happens with this podcast and it gets out there, hey, I mean, I,

Be listening to the music or or like the radio, some other

podcasts, maybe a audio book something.

And that, that is pretty cool that they listen to us like they

choose to listen to us. Yeah, that they actively are

like, OK, I'll just listen in from time to time at least.

Just yeah. Even if it is noncommittal, just

the fact that people are taking time out of the day to at least

put a little bit of us into their life is honestly amazing.

I I honestly never thought we'd get like to this.

Yeah, to the caliper that we're at now in this, in this amount

of a time frame, I thought I was going to be like, oh, we'll just

have really static numbers for like a year or two or something.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. We're going to go like nobody

for a long time. And that's kind of how it was

for streaming. And I've tried that.

I don't know, for three years I didn't.

I wanted to stream and entertain people for try to build a

community, even just a Humble 5 regulars of stream.

That's was kind of my thing I was going for.

I don't care how many followers I get.

Followers doesn't matter if you don't get people watching.

That was my philosophy. And even if it wasn't the same 5

people every stream, like didn't have to be the number 5, but you

know, good just a couple people that never happened.

But you know, now that I'm we're now that we're doing podcasting,

it's kind of different kind of the same thing.

I would still love to see some when we ask questions at the end

of the episodes. I would love to see some form of

interaction between which by the way, didn't you say that you has

if you wanted to bring it up this in in this episode or

outside of the did you say that you had something for us?

So the YouTube we had someone comment.

that you know, that the the work that we do just entertain

somebody for half an hour. Yeah, no, seriously.

Like that that's. It's the fact that it's doing

something for somebody is it is a is an amazing feeling.

have, you know, we've talked about like, oh, if we, if we do

grow, but this is a huge if again, that we do this for fun

first and foremost, no matter what pillar, pillar, physical

pillar, fun, everything else, all the other pillars can knock

down whatever. But like we can, we can do a

Patreon, we can do YouTube. We discussed that, which now we

are doing or even maybe a subreddit to talk about

whatever. I don't know what we would do,

you know, just like just a rough idea, but you know, just to get

the community involved, just a little different ways to do that

if we ever got like that. If we ever got to that point.

Which I, I still think would be a good idea, but, you know,

we're, we're just three dudes, three dudes and you guys listen

to us. Be a bunch of babbling buffoons

for an hour for. Babu Babu.

both me and you just died and Mark sitting there like, come

on, guys. Was that was that actually in

the episode or was? That just right before the ice

cube, the ice cube wasn't, you were taking a drink out of your

giant jug and you got an ice cube in your throat that you

weren't expecting. Like I, I got I could and we

were dying. We were already fucking around

during the pre recording and then that happened and we were

we were lost. That was it.

Just. Instantly before recording.

Yeah, that, that was just, that was it for me.

That that, that just that. That was funny as shit.

But. They're really all right.

Let's just let's just start because others we're never going

to start. And then we started and then,

yeah, we. Just couldn't keep.

It Jesus Christ all both of us over here tea cuddling and shit

like it was just. The tea is ready.

There's so many memories in just the past year.

It doesn't seem like it because we've recorded, what, an hour?

So an hour time is 52. That's 52 hours.

Oh yeah. But how many?

That's just over 2 days. Just over 2 days of recording.

Two days would be 48. I mean, we kind of went over 4

hours, yeah, yeah, we, we started to go over a little bit,

like 15 minutes even, but not counting all that, like, yeah,

just over 2 days of recording. And it's just there's so many

memories, yeah. There it's it's wonderful.

It it, it's a fun time. Oh yeah, it's great.

It's just been a good outlet, like just getting away from

craziness. Yeah, craziness, then

uncertainties of everything. You just.

a great project to work on, just to be creative again, 'cause

yeah, ever since Devon had to leave, you know, he, him moving,

I really wasn't doing anything creatively, just didn't.

And that sucked 'cause I, you know, I would have liked to have

something that I was able to do besides just working, you know,

that that's, that's what was, that's what sucked.

But like it, like I said, it's, it's a project that is put kind

of to the side for now. And we've already come back to

it once after a couple of years. So maybe, maybe me and Devon

will do more with that in the future.

You know, I, I again never say never.

I didn't think we were going to do another episode after he

left. I didn't think he was going to

be coming back to see me, you know, 'cause these guys own

life. He's got a girlfriend, wife,

he's married. So like, hey, you know, that's.

As long as he's doing what he's doing for himself.

He's in a lot better shape now, you know, then when you know, in

a better environment than what he was.

So that's, you know, I, that's all I can really ask for

honestly, you know, but no, this has been a good, nice creative

My parents have been supportive of it.

metrics where I think it's 50% of podcasts don't make it past

If you guys don't mind me asking, is there any sort of

like reasoning why that's the statistic or is it just?

I mean, it's probably because. Emily.

It's probably because a bunch of people do it being like, Oh

yeah, we can get numbers or like they want to do it and see how

the process is and then they see the process and it's just it's

not their thing or they don't see the numbers.

Or it could what? I'm assuming this is all

assumptions, but I could it could also be Where is it going

with this? It's not exactly what they were

looking for. They weren't exactly what they

wanted, yeah. It was.

Like their expectations of that reach reach meet reality too

well. Yeah, and I mean, it could be

also, like Ethan said, the process of doing this could have

scared a lot of people off Now, I mean, I'm sure like all

podcasts, the way that they do things, you know, they're not

the same as what we do. Oh, the numbers are different.

Oh, how different. This one says 90% of podcasts

don't publish more than three episodes.

Holy shit. Oh, that's well.

That's 50%. Oh wow, that's a that's love.

That's a lot worse. That was also.

Four years ago, so. I mean, what do you think of

this? The pod fade threshold.

Roughly 75% of podcasts never make it past 10, and 90 don't

make it past 20. OK, that sounds a lot better.

That sounds. Yeah, that's that's plausible.

But still. Wow.

Because we're at. It's it's not like we're even

doing it for any sort of profit or fame or whatever.

We're just doing it to be a couple dorks on the Internet.

Yeah. Entertain some people, yeah, you

know, mind off of whatever's going on.

Like that's, that's the whole point of this is like we're

having fun and we like to kind of distract people from the

stresses of life because life is that way.

And it's, it's just nice to have kind of an outlet.

And if the outlet is us, then you know, that's cool.

We appreciate it. We're doing our part.

Like, we're kind of lucky to even be doing this.

I'm still shocked at the amount of people watching and you're

very much thankful for all of us.

I guess you'd go either way, favorite or worst.

But one of my favourites has to be probably just both of the the

were, those two are probably some of my favorite.

I I feel like those episodes are a really fantastic way of just

showcasing who we are personality wise.

is not every word out. We just wanted to try to

structure it with like a really basic Google Sheets with bullet

points on what we wanted to discuss.

That kind of stuff. Honestly, that went out the

window like really soon into it. I stopped doing it because I

keep forgetting to download the app to my phone.

And I mean, I and me, I usually like, I just, I use it probably

the most out of all of us just 'cause I don't want to forget

anything. Yeah.

work. I just don't have service at

work. Yeah, it doesn't.

And at that point, I'm like, you know what?

I'm just going to focus on making sure my job is done

before I. Yeah, until you're waiting there

for three hours. Six hours trying to get 2 new

variables to cooperate. No, I'm just going to sit here

and wait for easy hours. I was waiting for test cycles to

complete. I was just complaining.

I was like I I have done nothing but sit and stared at the screen

for like 6 hours doing nothing. Another episode that was really

good. Games that made you rage.

I was going to bring that up. I was hoping, but I didn't want

to. I was hoping you were going to

bring that up. Yeah, that I.

I really love your expressionism with that stupid soccer game.

just laughed just because of that moment.

comfortable like you know like we said pretty quick and that's

when the that. Was our 8th episode.

Came out, it was, it was good. This is, you know, this like

we've said, it's, it's been nothing but just a blast.

And we've been literally, and this is another thing that I'm

proud of us is being consistent with uploading.

We have literally not missed a day.

Yeah, yeah, my my Internet the one time being complete and

utter dog shit. I mean, before then, I wish we

could. Say the same for a light year.

But then. We're still working out like it.

It's a whole different ball game when you had to include video

and the file size is just so massive.

Yeah. But you can also blame me for

anyway. We, I, I know we talked, me and

Emma. She said she wanted to help me

out with editing these videos. Oh shit.

Really? Hell yeah.

She 'cause she told me she used to video edit it, like video

edit in her past. I told her if she wants to start

doing that. And this also goes for the

people listening, if you're gonna do any type of video

editing, OK. From my experience, because I've

used different softwares nowadays, if you have a Mac, use

like Final Cut if you're so inclined to using that, which is

perfectly fine. Final Cut Pro is another good

piece of software. Obviously a lot of people use

Adobe. I'm not a fan of Adobe, never

have been. But really I recommend Davinci

Resolve purely just because the free version gives you pretty

much everything you need. The studio version that's $300,

one time payment. OK, I I got that specifically

because there were some hardware acceleration features of being

able to render videos out pretty a lot quicker than not having

anything that's hardware accelerated.

Believe me, using your GPU for hardware acceleration for

rendering videos is really nice. So I'll keep that in mind, but

with just Davinci Resolve free, it gives you your cut and edit

pages which are like they they using the cut page.

It's a little weird, but it it's obviously what the name

suggests, you cut things out. Whoa.

Whoa. But it it goes, it actually goes

a. Revolutionary idea.

It goes more in depth than just that.

Like that page is actually like pretty nice to have when you

need to get something done quick.

Then like the edit page, self-explanatory.

You have your colour grading, which is supposed to be and, and

and it should be professional colour grading.

So you're able to, you know, colour grade fix, you know, if

something you know, brightness is too much or if colouring

seems a little washed out or you know all that shit.

The fusion page, that's for visual effects using a node

based system. That node based system is really

nice to use. It's a lot easier to use than

doing like layering. But nodes based systems can also

be a little messy. So you're going to want to kind

of consolidate everything into like their own things, their own

little sections on the on the nodes timeline, just so you

don't get confused on what's what, because that's really easy

to do because if you don't keep everything together, it looks

like spaghetti, literally. It can be kind of a pain in the

ass. And then there is also the

Fairlight page, which is where you do your audio editing, which

again, you can use Fairlight, but with editing podcast as

well. If you're, if you're not able to

afford getting like Logic Pro or Pro Tools or Studio Pro, which

was Studio One by Presonus, those softwares, you know, cost

money. But with Davinci Resolve, the

free version, you can use I think pretty much everything

that Fairlight has to offer. And they're also adding, which I

don't know if this is going to be in the free version.

It might be they're adding a photos page where you can

actually use Davinci Resolve to edit photos now that's currently

in. Beta at the time of.

This it's in beta at the time of this recording, but that's

that's another nice thing because they're color grading

page is great. And then you're able to

basically take that and use it in like a photo editing page.

It's just basic. What I'm getting at is Davinci

Resolve is basically a Swiss army tool like it.

It's literally has everything you need and you don't need to

buy the studio version to get the most out of it.

I wish this was out when I was doing Todd because it wasn't at

that time. I think Davinci Resolve was just

for Hollywood studios and, and, and all that shit 'cause it, it

is a, it has been used in films that you've probably have

watched. So you're getting basically the

same tools that professionals use.

And there's a bunch of guides and stuff online on Black

Magic's website. The people that make Davinci

Resolve, if you need like help with something they have like

free courses that you can watch and whatnot.

I'm basically teaching you how to use the software.

I personally, I've watched some of the courses or videos if you

want to call them and I've gone and kind of just did shit on my

own. Like I just figured out how to

do multicam view which is what's used in the later episodes of

Lightyear which has been nice as hell.

Again, wish I had that when I was doing Todd because there

were multicam views. I could have done with that but

I just did not have the software at the time.

But these are just kind of the the tools that we use when

editing this podcast. Like I said, Logic Pro and I

have used Davinci Resolve sometimes with it, but Logic Pro

is more, you know, it is a digital audio workstation

software that's really better designed to just be used with

the podcast if you're not doing any video with it.

But you can kind of take the advice from us.

It's, you know, it's been a year that we've been or will be a

year, June 9th doing this and it has been one hell of a ride with

it. I guess so.

Much learning. I guess before we wrap up here,

let me pose the question. Where, where, how do you guys

want to see just, I, I guess not just the podcast, but the rest

of our what, what, what, what would you say?

It's like a media. Content creation media.

Just trying to define just just what what our YouTube or our

podcasts are. I guess not exactly, but I guess

brand. Yeah.

In a way, yeah, I guess. In a way, yeah.

Like like for from you 2 specifically, where do you where

would you like to see us starting to grow and develop

into? Honestly, it'd be really cool,

you know, it doesn't have to be anytime soon, but getting into

streaming, I think that'd be a pretty cool thing to do is like,

especially once we start getting we're listeners on, you know, on

our podcast and more comments on our like our YouTube series

that's going on right now. To see more people actively,

yeah. Mm hmm, yeah, I I would

definitely would not be opposed to doing streaming once we get a

bit more of a solid B skilling, especially with just three of us

doing just more random games as we're going about it.

I really, I really definitely want to see our gaming side.

Start to develop. More.

And honestly, maybe maybe we could do, you know, games like

hell divers or stuff like that. Like, it doesn't have to be

there doesn't have to be a commitment to it, but.

Or like those could also be games that we live stream again

We kind of want to be there if you know, if that ever happens.

But it's been a, it's been 1 heck of a journey with it so

far. And we're there.
