Hello and welcome to plug in for you know what, Hold on.
Lied. Nope.
Nope. Like.
What welcome to plug in for Player 3 player?
Four, we're the viewer on the Player 4.
Today we're going to be talking about the Zoo Tycoon 2003
collection and Sonic Ultimate Colors Awesome Kid Bats bit by
Boyle Saga. Braided.
Obscured. I mean, we're going to be
talking about party games. All right, we'll talk.
We'll talk. Yeah, That's, that's cool.
I begged down where I crashed out for a second.
Yeah, man, we all, we all got our crash out moments.
Cool, yeah. Almost.
No, we're cool. We're cool.
We're straight cool. Going back to the 19 radios
vibes, No. OK.
Yeah, it's been, it's been a while since we talked.
I got yelled at for fucking around with the mic so I'm
sitting on my hands. No, literally he is sitting on
his hands. He's literally sitting on his
hands. We.
Put little pink fucking handcuffs the fucking.
Frill Oh my fuzzy handcuffs. Fuzzy handcuffs, yes.
Just a six foot tall man. Like fucking gorilla of a man.
Fluffy. With fluffy handcuffs.
Fluffy pink handcuffs. Fuck you're.
Not allowed to touch the microphone because it made a
sound with the last bit. And we threw out the lock.
Just the lock. Not the key, the lock.
The lock just the. Lock.
Yeah, we don't need the lock. No what games though?
I have been playing a shit ton of the new Tony Hawk 3 + 4.
Oh yeah, that's right. Are you getting ready for the
the remaster? That is the remastered.
Oh that is the remaster? Oh I didn't know it released
already. Actually, yes.
No, I was surprised that it released too.
So am I like I know the the first what one and two remasters
did well. That was like, what, three years
ago at least. Something like that, yeah.
And those were fun. Yeah, no, I've I've real good.
I've only saw one level of the OnePlus 2 and I think it was a
one level 'cause it's it was 1 where you go from A to B but
then you teleport back up to A and you have like basically 3
loops to do things. I have not seen that in two, so
that had to be a one level, which was kind of interesting to
see actually. Oh man, I guess it depends.
So it depends on which Tony Hawk that is 'cause I think 1 had
the. Was it the mall that did that?
It looped and then you had from my knowledge from 2 I think was
downhill jam. That's probably what it was.
It's like a like, it looks like kind of like a, like a Canyon
kind of thing. But but you race.
Yeah, I I think that's that. Might have been it, but I mean.
I was kind of loops. I was kind of bad at 4:00
because I was a kid. I don't really understand the
concept, but I don't know. I know I beat 3, but I don't
know. Yeah, couldn't tell you.
But yeah, it's been been fun, been been enjoying that.
What about you, Mark? What have I been doing lately?
It's been one week, uh. Fasmo Pope.
Yeah, there's Fasmo. We've been playing a lot of
that, but I think you've been settling in on a oh boy, you
guys have to come back to beat my brains and on the replays
right now. Well, I've been playing a great
game called Axolotl. I've been obsessed with it.
Brandon knows. Brandon has seen this.
This game is right up my alley. It's if you get a good run, it
can get pretty damn absurd. Yeah, it can.
And specifically the imp character, because a lot of
characters as you shoot and deal damage, you fill up a bar in
which you can heal. If you haven't used it already
or sorry if you have used it already.
However, the imp he has a he doesn't heal.
Instead he can get a random item for free, but he has to deal a
lot of damage to get that item. You could probably go maybe most
of the first Biome before you even get an item, but if you can
get the right items and dish out a lot of damage you can start
getting 2-3 maybe 5 items a a room and that's kind of what
happened at the end of my run. Watching you destroy fucking
boss like the the boss's health, like it just whittles down the
fucking. Before it even launches the
first attack, it's like not even through it's spotting animation
it's already gone. Yeah, I want to see you see the
health go all the way down, then it goes back up and then it's
down again and like, Jesus Christ, man, fuck.
It's just amazing every single time.
Oh. My God, it's it's so great.
The Gatoringa, the mini gun is my favorite weapon in the entire
bunch. There's a lot of good weapons as
I'm starting to see, because at first I I decided to bum rush
the items because there was a there was a good set few of
items that I had on weapons that I had unlocked.
I'm like, you know what? This is a good loophole because
I didn't want to dilute the weapon bull and that was the
kind of the same thing. I didn't want to dilute the
loophole either, but surprisingly a lot of the items
are pretty good. Yeah, some are direct upgrades
to other items that are already unlocked.
Yeah. And that's kind of the same
thing with weapons, a lot less, but sometimes.
No, it's not bad. But jeez, everything about this
game tickles my brain. That's all perfectly.
It's a great game. I I need to play more you do I
need to play more of it? We can play together.
You just gotta man up and get over the Co-op mode.
You just like, get over the game.
Yeah, man, you said the game pissed him off.
More so to Co. OP really OK.
Just to Co-op, yeah the game itself is fine but it was like
one time playing the Co-op so I really don't have a full
opinion. On it, yeah, that was like 3
weeks ago, so yeah. So you guys?
Probably just been a baby. You just been a baby.
A little bitch baby. And also all I'm all up in that
Tony Hawk stuff. Yeah, no, no, I get that.
The the sad thing about it though, is that once, once I get
all the achievements, 'cause you know, I've said it before, I'm
an achievement hunter. Once I get all the achievements
I'll probably drop that game like a rock in the middle of the
ocean. And then your blue band or
something else? It's just how you function.
Even though I love that game to pieces and I love just, the
gameplay loop is perfect. And you can always come back to.
It I can't. I did the same thing with
Roboquest for a while. I would hop on for a run or two.
Yeah, and that's all you really need.
Right. Yeah.
And I'll probably do the same thing.
I'll probably, you know, lose my skill in it like I did with
Roboquest. I mean, you can't play it for a
while. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, right. But yeah, but then again, when
you come back, you're really just coming back for an
experience. Right, yeah, and I'm hoping to
'cause there's an achievement for dying 100 times, but I'm
hoping to get all the character, like win with all the characters
to unlock the secondary skin. It's the same character, just
alternate colors, same effect, everything, same health values,
shield value, whatever. But do that before I complete
the game 'cause. You know, just.
Do pretty much do everything the game has to offer.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I am back to you, Mark.
Blue Satisfactory. Blue screen.
Yeah, satisfactory. It's it's been itching at me
lately. Because you, what were you doing
in it? So far I've, I've been just
actually starting to take a, a playthrough seriously.
Oh, start applying stuff that I didn't want to for the longest
time. I was just like, all right, the
the the itch came back. Now I'm actually getting stuff
organized, getting my supply line set up to be able to expand
starting to finish off the rest of the research for the current
phase I'm on about to do the phase two materials.
So that's that's the the smart plating, the automatic wire and
the I can't remember the name the.
Wasn't like a Tier 2 frame or something.
No, no, are we talking about this?
It's like a. It's like a structural
component. It's like take steel beams and
another material. And this is for the the space
elevator mix. Yeah, it's for the space.
Elevator, OK, Yeah, OK. Yeah.
But just finally putting in the time to actually put into the
game and start having a good time with it again.
It's quite nice because I'm getting all my, I'm getting all
my truck lines going. I am upgrading all of my my
factories to use the tier 3 belts again.
Starting to get my just my addiction kind of filled out
with the game again. I feel that man.
It's just, it's just difficult to really devote the time into
it because what do you have? Work And then I've got my wife.
I'm taking, I, I needed to be able to spend time with, enjoy
some time with, and then just other responsibilities.
It just kind of it's hard to devote a game that takes hours
to get one thing done. I mean at least there's like,
it's not the worst game, not the worst offender.
There's RPGs for example, those can go on for 80 hours.
Yeah, I mean. Satisfactory can arguably go
longer, but like, at least you can really take that bit by bit.
You can hop on for 5 minutes to do something.
Hop off, Yeah. RPG is like, you're probably
going to devote like at least an hour.
But but, but also the other factor is once you get to
actually playing, you're tired as fuck.
Yeah. Like, you know, you're just at
the keyboard, you know, like fucking sleeping and shit.
Yeah, at least the hey, the thing that's satisfactory, at
least the game is still playing. Yeah.
Even though you're sleeping and you left the game on, you're
still accumulating resource. How about to say you're still
technically playing? Like man, I I need I need 5000.
Concrete. More therapeutic than turning
your computer station to just a miniaturized Amazon warehouse.
OK, yeah, just having all the stuff fly by you on, on the
belts and just like, OK, the music, the heavy industrial
atmosphere. Time to snooze.
Time. To snooze.
Time to snooze. And then your tractor decides
I'm going to go past the beehives.
Oh God yeah, starts. Fucking making them come out and
shit. I don't know if I showed you
that image, Ethan. Yeah, I want to show you that.
Yeah, I'm thinking I were talking about.
Oh, that shit was funny. Just every time the tractor
would pass by the the damn spawner just it kept spotting
more of the bugs. I have a feeling.
Hatchers. I have a feeling that keeps
going he'll eventually start having frame problems.
Yeah, cuz there's gonna be so many of them spawned.
So there'll be. 20 of them just hovering above it.
Yeah. So like the next time you go
through that area, there'll just be a swarm.
Yeah. Oh my God.
Yeah, yeah. The swarms perpetually just
hovering above the Hatcher spotter.
I have a. Can't you take that the Hatcher?
Yeah, but it comes back eventually.
I thought they I thought they stopped if you built over it.
Well, I don't have anything built over.
It then build over it. I I I need?
To just. Concrete just put down like, I
don't know, a light pole or something.
I'm gonna, I'm just gonna turn the whole world into like a
Becky Bianopoulos. I'm gonna This is the plot of
Crash Team Racing. I'm gonna turn the entire world
into a concrete parking lot. Yeah, that's essentially where
chorus is. Yeah.
Literally just pave over everything with concrete and
your problems are solved. Nothing more you have to worry
about. And it's all tied to the world
grid so you everything lines up perfectly.
It's great. Oh boy.
Anyway, party games though, what do we think about them?
What are your favorite ones? What you got, Mr. Brandon?
I man, I fucking love make way. Yeah.
Yeah, Oh my God. You discussed it before, but it
is such a great. Game I remember we released that
episode that we talked about Make Way and then the next
weekend we had what? What was it?
SAC St., What did we call it? We had like 4 swinging sacks.
That was a second second. Couldn't get past it.
A nice drift. What the fuck I caught?
Yeah. You go and die.
No, fucking Ethan, man, he did this really nice fucking drift.
He's the only one alive fucking perfect at this at this point.
And yeah, he does a really great fucking drift around the ball
sacks and. I didn't come out of the drift
nicely. You did not, but you went into
it nicely. And I did it nicely.
You did it nicely, but then you went over the edge and then I
took my compliment. Hey man, it's Sackland.
I couldn't finish. That was too easy.
That was too fucking easy. God damn.
It I was. I was not ready for that setup.
OK, Dwell. Sackland.
Maybe like a sack of bricks? Ha ha.
I feel my life force training at this moment.
Go ahead, we're two peas in the pod.
But no, no weaknesses, I think, yeah, No, actually, last time we
played, we we finally unlocked everything.
So we have roundabouts, we have what train cross?
Yeah, we have the crossing, we have the XL train crossing, the.
XL Highway. Oh God, they.
Are. Oh my God, I think.
That was going to become as big of a problem as it is.
Isn't like a. Random hole on one of the sides
too or no? In the.
Center. You have to go around.
You have to go through. The And if you're going too
fast, you may not see it and go right in it, yeah.
Yeah, but there was the the first round I played, but then
just exactly and kind of killed all of us.
So I handed off the controller too.
What's his name? Dylan.
Dylan. OK.
So I handed it off to him. And then you guys got the
roundabout, which there was a round where you guys could not
get past this roundabout for that reason.
Awful. The cars are so tiny.
Just go through. What had happened with Jack when
Jack hit the floor? Like Jack was laughing so
fucking hard. I've seen this man laugh but the
fact he collapsed on the floor off the couch fucking sent me.
I don't even remember what happened.
All I know is that he he just, he just couldn't.
He was trying to play and I could see him looking through
the tears in his eyes. Apart from all of us saying
shit. I mean, look, it's, it's the
natural chaos of the game. You just have a great time with
it. It's.
So good. If you guys have a group, If you
own a switch, please buy make way.
Buy extra controllers it is. It's what?
It goes up to six players, doesn't it?
Yeah. Six players now.
Six players and you're all influencing the way the track
is. We're a Steam Deck even.
Yeah, 'cause it's a steam. Deck it by make way.
It's so much fun. I guarantee you guys will be on
the floor. Hours of fun with it.
It's. The the replayability is so good
too because every track is different as you build it up.
And you can. You can change so many settings.
You can turn off, you can turn on and off items, you can turn
on and off weapons, you can you can enable or disable track
skipping and checkpoint skipping.
And that fucks with everybody who isn't there.
Yeah, 'cause there are times. You love the track skipping.
There are times where like the track kind of lines up perfectly
where you can skip a checkpoint or you can skip half the map.
And and kill all your buddies in the process.
Or you. Or you.
Or you. 'Cause that's how the game works
sometimes. Sometimes the camera just fucks
you over. Oh, it dies.
Oh, it fucking dies. Or or it'll and then flip back
and everyone's. The person who tracks skipped.
It's so fucked. And God forbid the loop de
loops. Don't even try the loop de
loops. Loop de loops with fucking.
They need to be spread wider apart.
Yeah, but maybe we'll make it as fun, yeah?
You know, maybe it. Wasn't the one time we we were
playing and we cock blocked ourselves by making it so we can
no longer put any track pieces because if it overlap with the
other track pieces. I think we did.
Did we do that? Yeah, that was like one of the
first couple clubs we played it. The first time we played it.
That will live in my head forever.
Oh. My God, no, Literally me.
That Corkscrew. That double Corkscrew upwards
Corkscrew so we couldn't even skip the track even if we wanted
to. You.
Had to go through the. Corkscrew, there was bumper.
We we had the basic stuff that we had nothing unlocked, but we
had bumpers. Fans.
Do we have fans at that point? No, no fans were later in.
That's what I thought. Lots of bumpers.
The the little roadblocks, those kind of screwed us over as well.
Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I feel like there was something to push us, but I
can't remember maybe that. No, I think the sacks were
later. But even though just by the end
of that round, we were laughing so hard that three out of the
four of us were on the ground and one was already on the
ground. God that was funny as shit.
I don't remember laughing that hard at a game.
Yeah, and like every card is different too.
At least it feels different. They handle differently.
Yeah, they certainly do. Yeah, smaller cars are a lot
faster, but they they don't turn for shit.
Well, I think every car is the same speed.
They kind of have to be if you want to.
Well, that's true. Keep it fair.
But like some. Have better acceleration, I'll
give it that. Probably.
Yes, like because I think like one of one of them's what a race
car. Yeah, and.
Then they have a truck. Yeah, I mean, you'll have a
literal airplane. Yep, yeah.
That's one of them. You have a train, you have a
milk truck, You have a, you have a monster truck, Mammoth.
Oh yeah. That's right.
The word for the mammoth says. I remember we're spamming that
shit. We we did some dumb shit.
This game is like, there's a lot to it, but it's it's less is
more. Yeah.
Yeah. Oh yeah.
The only thing I miss about it, with the switch version in
particular they fixed this, which kind of sucks but I can
understand why. Yes man, when you start getting
so much shit on screen the fucking switch would start
lagging. The phrase would die, it was so
good. It was.
That was the best part. It was I think that's what made
us die so hard laughing is because not only was all this
chaos going on, shotguns flying, there was mines everywhere and
there was like goose slowing everybody down.
But then. Exciting people, but then you
also had. The frames slowing the entire
thing down. The switch started.
And you and you didn't know when I was going to speed back up, so
I might have fucked up your turn or something.
Fucking you wonder this is happening.
You look over to the switch and you see fucking flames and shit
and it's like smoking, you know? Like holy shit, they.
Don't want to put Mortal Kombat 1 on this thing.
Did they ever do that? Yeah, they did for the switch.
On the one and the one the switch 1.
Oh, that. Yes, I I remember it.
Yeah, you don't. The really God awful port.
If you're going to play Mortal Kombat 1, just get it on a
computer. How many port Xbox OR?
Just just on a console or APC, right?
Because man, it looks. Really.
I'm shocked that they're putting a Harry Potter game on the
Switch. Well put on switch to.
Yeah, I was gonna say it's fair the switch to can like actually.
It's a little bit better. It still looks like an old PS
game. Well I mean the switch to is
more powerful. It can true, it can run like
cyberpunk Fair granted the graphics.
That's right, yeah. Yeah.
You run anything on that, but it's at the cost of graphic
fidelity. And also battery power or
battery. Which I can confirm does it
literally exactly the same as a regular switch.
I'm just talking battery life. Like I assume if you're gonna
run that it's gonna 0. Yes, yeah, yeah.
But I was kind of disappointed with the fact that it's battery
life is about the same. Yeah.
But I do understand that better screen at this point, you know,
I mean, it looks way better, Screen is bigger, there's more
real estate that you can see. Yeah.
And honestly, the size of it now, a lot better, a lot more
comfortable. I mean the screen size is like
even the size of the OLED, right I or maybe even bigger.
I think it's bigger. Oh God, I think it's about the
size of the Steam Decks I. Think oh shit.
They'll quote me on that, but I believe it is it's.
About the size of that audio interface with you.
Man, could you imagine trying to play something on that man?
That's a four by three screen brother.
My. Mobile My mobile console is
bigger than a tablet. God, that would be sad.
For reference, we have this gigantic looks like a DJ board
in front of us. Basically a portable studio.
And yeah, it's got a little screen on it that tells us like,
you know, when audio is being picked up.
But yeah, the screen is kind of small, but it works for this.
Could you imagine, man, you're trying to play a fucking first
person shooter. And shit, Oh, that's.
Awful. You know, like I'm.
Just saying that like the size of the entire thing.
Oh the size of the oh. Yeah, that's what I mean.
Yeah. Yeah.
I was making a big joke. Not a tiny joke.
Tiny I. Mean tiny.
To be fair, the the screen size kind of looks like the size of
ADS. And they they made Call of Duty
for the DS. Yeah, maybe.
The DS is a little small, but yeah, no, you're right.
Yeah, that's about the size of ADS.
Yeah. And I will say the screen on
this thing is pretty nice, yeah. I haven't seen it.
I haven't even perceived this thing since you brought it in
the first time. Yeah, we won't talk about that.
Anyway, party games. I'm not sure if you guys played
this, but Kirby Arid I believe. I think I've played it with you
a couple times. I.
Played the fuck out of it as a kid and you know what?
I don't care what you say. City trial.
Nothing else exists but city trial.
I'm gonna move my mic away from my mouth for a second.
I really love it. Hold on, I'm gonna move my
microwave too. Me too.
Oh, this game is great. It is great.
Like all you do is you start off on a bit your your Kirby.
There's the four colors at the start and you can you can do
quests, but it's all cosmetic stuff.
You can unlock new skin colors you can unlock in free roam.
You can unlock different, what are they called rides?
No stars. They're called stars.
Yeah, yes, stars. Yeah, but that's pretty much it.
But you can fill that entire like grid of things to do.
And it's one of those grids where you can only see
challenges next to challenges you've already done and
completed. But you can complete whatever as
long as you meet the requirements.
Anyway, Not the point. The point of the game is you.
You start off with a basic star and as you play you can like hop
off the star and go find a new one.
Or my starter might get destroyed.
You have to find a new one. And that can kind of fuck you
over at the very end because you pick up upgrades like speed,
defense, offense, wait, flight health, all that kind of stuff.
And each star has its kind of like own hidden values.
Like if you have, let's say, 5 health upgrades, yeah, you could
on one star, you could have, you know, like a little bit of
mental health. But then you hop off that, find
another star, you could have a lot of health.
Yeah, or even the thinking about the special.
Oh my God, yeah, cuz you can get the Dragoon and the Hydra.
Yeah, and the Dragoon is really good.
They're both good at speed, yes, but Dragoon is good at flying.
Yes and you don't also cuz the the hydra you have to like sit
there to charge. It yeah, So you get the hydra.
You have to get like at least 18 charges to make this thing
useful, but once you charge you are good for like dude 7 minutes
you have a charge. And this thing is actually
pretty fast too. Oh yeah, for how long it takes
to charge? If you have 0 charge upgrades it
goes. Especially if you get one of the
challenge maps where it's just a fucking straight line.
Drag Race there's 4. Drag Race, Yes.
I used to get speed star the the sorry, the Pyramid 1 and I would
just set it to drag race. OK.
And I would just replay, replay, replay, replay, replay as a kid.
I just, I loved just zooming with the Hydra on that.
Dude, Speedstar is my favorite actually.
It can fly actually. Like pretty far really.
Like, it's not, it's not the best at flying, but if you get
enough speed it can just there you go.
I just what I love with the hydras.
If anybody was in front of you when that thing goes past, it
fucks you up. Oh yeah.
Like it's funny as hell. OK, but here's the thing though
that reminded me of this. The there's one challenge, one
mode, whatever is OK. So how the game works is you
have I think up 3:00 to 7:00 or 4:00 to 7:00 depending how much
time you set, minutes to go out, collect the items, get a star or
whatever. And you can even fuck around
your friends because there's items that you can throw a bomb
or you can get abilities and fuck around your friends.
If you hit them, you might destroy the star, but if you hit
them, they will drop items that they've picked up.
They might drop a speed, a weight, and a defense.
And you any. Minute you and Shelby, the last
time we played because of that. Who was it?
Was it Jacob me or was it Brandon and I?
I don't remember. I think we all played it, yeah.
We're all playing it, Yeah cuz I'm struggling trying to learn
the game and you guys are like bum bum bum and like what the
fuck? But the thing though, is that if
your star dies, you pretty much just about lose all upgrades.
So if you got like, yeah, if you get like, I don't know, 30
upgrades, it's just all like, like a pinata coming right out.
Yeah. And it sucks because there might
not be a star for miles. Yeah, at least walking it's
miles. Yeah, star.
It's like, oh, it's 5 feet. Yeah, no, but when you had to
walk, it's my. God, it's the worst.
And that could be a run killer. Yeah, yeah, Like you're just
like, all right, I lose this challenge and at the end, at the
end of the timer, you get a random challenge.
Could be a drag race, could be a race, could be verse King DDD.
That's the worst one. Ever.
I forgot about that because. You never win against King DDD.
Never. You pretty much need to work as
a team because you can still damage each other in this mode,
but you pretty much need to work as a team to take down King DDD.
But you only have one health bar and that's it.
Even with the hydra and that thing has health for.
Eons, yeah. It has damage up the ass.
You still can't defeat the game DDD.
God yeah, I forgot about that king.
And like each, each zone, like each area in this map is unique
in how it looks. It's simplistic, but it's unique
and just. It's.
I feel like if you even changed one thing about the map and ruin
it. Yeah, yeah, I can see it.
Yeah, I can see it too. Yeah.
Good times on that shit. Oh.
My God I played the fuck out of city trial as a kid.
Same here. Couldn't peel me off it for the
long time. Still do.
Yeah, still do. Still do.
Yeah. And.
Then we have a new Kirby Air right coming out at something
that's. Right, I forgot about that.
And let me tell you, when I was watching that like direct, I saw
that, yeah, me has squealed a little bit.
Hold on, give me a second. I can't wait.
Had to move his back away from that one.
I'm so excited. I just can't hide it.
Maybe I just can't find it. Oh my God.
Oh, I was so happy because it's been so long since Kirby a Ride
was a thing. I mean, guess what?
Kirby A Ride really was only on the GameCube.
Yeah, no, that's it. I mean like it was.
You can grab that case and check out what your like the copyright
or whatever. If I do guess it was probably
like 2002, 2003. See, it might be 2002.
You might be right on that. So I can't remember if that came
out. It wasn't a 19.
I don't remember 19 on the like, you know, I think the start
screen, it says copyright, whatever.
Yeah, I don't remember it being 19. 2002, I think that was.
I don't want to say it wasn't a launch title for the Game Cube,
but it was close to its after its release.
Yeah, and that's another good game to play with friends.
Oh my God, yeah. It's a great time.
Very. It's so much fun.
I don't know why my brother like top ride.
You are close as 2003. It is 2003.
Yeah, OK, Yeah. I don't know why my brother like
Top Ride. Top Ride sucks.
What was what did? What does Top Ride look like?
So top ride is one of the top down 1 and you have two stars.
You have one where you can pretty much whichever.
Like if you point your joystick up, the star goes up, if you
point it to the left, it goes left.
Or you have the other one where you only steer left and right.
No matter what, no matter which direction you're facing, you
steer left, you go left. If you steer right, you go
right. I think I know what you're
talking about. And it was like miniature races.
I did not. My brother, lovely.
I don't know why. No, it sucks.
And then there's the there's the regular mode.
There's three modes. So there's city trial, best top
right. Don't do it.
And then racing. Yeah, give it a try, but don't
do it. Just play city trial.
Say city trial is literally. The bread and.
Butter of that game. God's so good.
And the fact that I'm making a second, I really hope they don't
fuck it up. I'm hoping.
Like I mean. Please don't put
microtransactions in it. Here's the thing I also don't
want it to be like like the new strikers game how they added
like stats to the different armors because they have like 2
armors per character or something.
They had stats so pretty much they met a game to the just just
make it pick a character. You have the basic star grab
items, you can grab a star on the way.
I hope they don't do that. I just hope that they have like
the same formula as the original and.
If for some reason they screw it up, well, we have the original.
Yeah, you're not wrong you. Know, so we'll see what happens.
It also has more nostalgia tied to it than anything so.
Yeah, I'm about to say yeah. I'm kind of like, I'm genuinely
surprised that they made a second one.
I am too. I thought that was like 1 and
done. Me too.
You know, I mean it's. One of those IPS that are gonna
get lost to time. Yeah, I mean, it's 22 years old.
Yeah, surprisingly, it's even for its age it looks, it's still
graphically looks pretty good. Yeah, definitely.
I mean I know we take turns but like this is one I have to bring
up cuz I brought it up in our group chat.
Castle Crashers, I know it's a couch cop game, but there's also
I would consider a party game as well because you can boot it up
anytime and just yeah woo yeah, yippie fun.
I yeah, Castro. Castro.
Fuck. And that thing is 17 years old.
Yeah, almost completed. Really.
Yeah. I'm kind of surprised you
haven't. That's a look.
I have offended Ethan. Yes, yeah.
I was like, you know? What?
We're booting it up right now. Screw this.
Screw these notes. We're booting it up right now.
We're gonna play it live. Play it live, OK?
Live on the recording. Live on the Yeah, we'll just put
the mics up to the TV so you hear this loud blasting fucking
sound. Dude, yeah, as soon as you boot
it up. Blasts out the fucking mikes.
Yeah, no, I do not recall ever playing Castle Crashers.
So we definitely. Have to play.
We need to play it now OK, Did you know there's a new DLC
coming out for it? After how long really?
There's a there's a new DLC I. Saw that on Twitter.
Sorry, I'm burping. I saw that on Twitter.
I am excited like that should be the time to come.
Back and the fact that over the years they kept adding
characters like they added the heart, the Pink Knight, they
added the Purple Knight, which is actually the blacksmith.
They added the King, yes, Hattie Hattington.
I think Alien Isolation, whatever that I think just Alien
is what it's called. I don't remember.
That might have been an unlockable character in the base
though, but they just kept adding characters.
Oh my God. And the fact that they're going
to add new content to it. I know.
That's actually pretty neat. Yeah.
After 17 years. Or I'm not sure.
I'm not sure how long the last update was, but.
After it's 17 years old. Yeah, I mean, just just think
about the the people that do Stardew Valley, how many years
they've been doing free updates? I mean, yeah.
Yeah, OK. But this?
The thing is though that this is pretty much basically a launch
title for Xbox Arcade. Yeah, that's.
Like A and kind of new grounds as well.
This is a new grounds. Yeah, this is a new grounds.
OK, so this and just the art style, the way they made the
game timeless. Yeah, it holds up to this day.
Yeah, yeah, with its art style being so it like say cartoony,
but it looks it's. Got its own unique aesthetic.
Yes, I've seen snippets of it. Yeah, like it does hold up.
You can't tell that it was a Xbox Live Arcade for the 360 so
that you could not tell. Yeah, no, I I wanna, I
definitely wanna play that Yeah again.
I I haven't played it since the last time me and my one buddy.
Yeah, I mean, shit, if I'm with that chick with my girlfriend,
but maybe we can make time this weekend or Sunday if you guys
wanted to come over OK and try it out.
Or you, Mark, try it out and play it, play it again.
If not, we can figure out sometime.
Yep. Yeah, it's.
Good to. Me because I mean it is also
online multiplayer too. Oh yeah, OK.
So yeah, which I had you pick it up when it was the Steam sale.
And then trying to line up me and his schedule.
Fuck. Yeah, it might be better if you
guys come over. Yeah, yeah.
In person. Yeah, because it works, this
couch talk because it does on the same screen.
OK, we've talked about this before on the podcast.
You guys get to see each other and your expressions and you
guys get to bash each other, like in real time.
Yeah, not over electronic. Bullshit 5G5G5G government
drones. I just wish that the data works
over the Internet. Yeah, cuz the only way we can
play it is the. It does, but it doesn't.
How about we get to that? See it works.
Not. Great when it wants to, yeah.
But then there's times where it like it.
We really and what's funny is that we couldn't figure it out,
but my friend Nick was like, Oh no, don't worry, I'll look it up
for you anyway, you got to set you got to do this setting for
steam robot play. You got to do this setting this
setting, this setting set it to like 15 gigahertz.
I don't know now it should work and then we try it.
Oh my God, it works. Oh my God.
Yeah, that's right. It like just did not work at
all. Yeah, Yeah, that was.
Well, that's because it's going through what, like Steam play or
something remote play? Yeah, people play together.
Yeah, that's what. It's called whatever, Yeah.
It's like, I know they were doing that for like the pandemic
and all that shit was going on. Yeah.
Is that when that happened? I think that's when they
implemented it, yeah. It was a good addition.
Oh yeah. Yeah, well.
I wish it's. Execution, but it was a good
addition. Yeah, I wish it wasn't a
peer-to-peer connection. Yeah, that's a little strange.
Like I would have rather it been some type of server, right?
But you know, that costs money that could be expensive for
something that now you probably people really don't use.
Yeah. So, but it was, it's good that
it's there and we have it all right, but definitely could be
better. Much better in prison.
Oh yeah, yeah, it's. Fucking hot in here this room.
It's toasty. Sucks it's toasty like it.
Drink that while we do. And remember to say hydrated.
Hydrated. Yeah, joke.
Joke joke joke joke joke joke. We're watching this.
Don't drink water in real time. This is.
Slowly turning into an ASMR channel now.
Oh please God, don't do. That too much?
Funny, as I was listening to the episodes and one of one of the
last two episodes, you could hear me drinking my water.
Could you? Yeah, you're actually good.
Oh. At this point, I'm leaning into
it. I'm not going to like, you know,
purposely put it in the mic. I'm not going to purposely put
it in the mic. But I'm like, you know what?
I'm just not going to hide me drinking water.
I need to drink water. I'm going to drink.
I mean, if we don't drink the water, we won't have a podcast.
Won't. Be here, I'll whither we and
die. You know, a little, a little
lore. We're no, we don't have the best
setup. Oh this is a great setup.
Oh, you know, yeah, you're right.
This is a perfect set of 10 out of 10.
What would recommend? Hell, we even got IG in to
actually come. Like come here itself and set up
a base IG. Oh, and Metacritic too.
It's actually my attic as we speak.
That's where their headquarters. Would be interesting.
All right. Yeah, sure.
We'll go with that. What about you, Mark?
What about party games? What do you?
I, I personally like to think back to, oh God, what's that
game called? It's the old mini game pack for
the Wii. It's like we play.
I think that's. Not Wii Sports, no.
No so so it was like Wii Sports, but it was for like the little
party games. Was it like the table tennis
was? It like the 50 games or
whatever? Not even that many it was like
10 games but the like the last game to unlock was the the tanks
game. Oh.
I think that is. You might know what you're
talking about. I think it, I think it's we
play. I think it is we play because.
We had the fishing mini game and then you had the the cow mini
game. That's right because every game
sucked except tanks in comparison.
Because I think it also in. Comparison, they they were, they
were decent in themselves, but it was, it was always the tank
game. Yep.
Did it also have billiards? I think it did.
I don't. Remember maybe.
I swear, because I I played a lot of we play, yeah, they had
so many of those different. Those party tech.
Games. They really did, especially on
the Wii, Yeah. The Wii was like really, really
good for party games. Oh yeah.
Because there was like the carnival game, like like Wii
carnival. Yeah.
There was the Wii Sports. We play it.
It was just really, really good for social couch couch party
games. And then they made a Nintendo
Switch Sports. Oh God.
And it was average. I remember my brother was like I
got it, next time I talk to him I got rid of.
It. It yes, that goes back to what
we said earlier about the differences between the Wii and
the Nintendo Switch when it comes to its motion controls.
Yes. Well the Switch uses what
gyroscopes, whereas the Wii was a an IR sensor.
Pretty much, yeah. Yeah.
I mean, yeah, like. That's the thing though, like
the Wii was it's sole purpose was to play with the Wii mount.
Yeah. Motion and.
Normal, that's that's his whole thing was like to get you up and
moving around. Well, there was the Wii Fit
board. I remembered doing that, I'd
step on the board and it would show me my weight.
Now that I'd get self-conscious. That's.
The thing? That's the thing though, it was
only weight, it couldn't tell body fat.
No. 'Cause it used it used the BMI
scale. Yeah.
And the BMI scale sucks. Bullshit.
Scale. Yeah, but there's like body fat,
there's fat, there's, there's muscle.
Like there's different types of weight.
Yeah, there's different aspects and into what's contributing to
weight. And those different types of
weight also have different densities, yeah.
Yeah, so self-conscious though. That sucked.
And then it shows like the person on there.
Oh my God. So you look a little big, you
know? And I'm like, yeah, thanks for
calling me. Fat.
If you get obese, you're just an orb.
Yeah, like I swear my if I'm remembering this right, my
fucking character look big. Yeah, I'm.
Like like the one girl from Willy Wonka, the giant blueberry
dude. Like look at the screen, I'm
looking at myself. Like God damn Nintendo, you're
an asshole. I just remember for like the Wii
Fit game, like the the app or whatever it's sell on the Wii,
it was just like the the highest it could count was a week and it
was like, oh, last played one week ago or yeah.
Oh yeah, it. Wouldn't go past a week and I
just remember staring at them like huh it's been years.
I'm about to say yeah, Wii, What the fuck?
Man, I haven't weighed this much since high.
School. It's been 70 years, 70.
Years. Anyway, no, the the weed
definitely like it didn't refine motion controls, but it like it
it put it where it needed to, I think yeah.
And then the rest of it was just, hey, just just play.
Yeah, yeah. Boy did that council fucking
sell. And now we have mice.
There's joy cons. Yeah, yeah, I've actually, I've
messed with that. Really.
Really. So the.
Yeah, the joy cons on the Nintendo Switch 2.
It can also act as a mouse because it has a sensor on the.
Oh yeah. Remember, it's just you can put
it down like this and then the bumper becomes the the.
Left click the left. Click and then the trigger
becomes. Right click.
I remember seeing the commercial.
I'm not sure if it depends. Can you use both of them as mice
or is it just the one? You can use both as the mouse,
yeah. So does it, so would that change
like on this one, it would be the bumper on that one.
I'll be the the trigger for left click probably OK.
That that'd be the easiest way of doing it.
Because I was messing around with it on just the home screen,
Yeah, and you'll see the mouse come up and it's actually not
that bad. Is that is that part of the
reason why they made it into? You had to push the the joy cons
back on that console and so sliding them.
So. It's kind of the engineering
around that. Maybe, but the way that these
attach, it's all magnetic. Actually, yeah, there are.
There's some pretty strong magnets.
Yeah, some pretty strong magnets.
Cuz yeah, when you put them on it snaps in place and it's not
going anywhere. And that's the thing though,
I've seen, I've seen a stress test video and they pretty much
like attach it and then like break it off.
And the, the chip in the middle doesn't break the because like
it's, it's kind of like the black bird that I'm showing
right here like is, you know, kind of thick, but like that
doesn't like damage any of the externals.
Like that thing can take a beating.
Yeah, OK. And that's pretty.
Good. It actually holds up pretty well
to stress testing. Cuz that's what a lot of people
were afraid of. Yeah, I was definitely saying
that. That was one of the fears I
would have had with it. Like joy cons would snap in the
middle and you're during the. The charging, I mean, thinking,
thinking back about it, like, Nintendo pretty much had to know
what they were doing, otherwise there would be an uproar.
Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
And there's still kind of an uproar now anyway.
I mean, that's besides the point.
Yeah, they have their own problem, Jeff.
There's always going to be an uproar about something.
That's just how the Internet is these days.
Yeah. Yeah, ain't.
That wrong and that's why I would like to bring a little bit
of entertainment to the world. Entertainment.
Yeah, just like Mario Party does.
Mario Party is actually a really good time.
I grew up playing eight. I'm not sure about you guys or
you guys grew up playing, but I'm pretty sure just about
everyone grew up playing a Mario Party.
Oh yeah? Oh yeah, I actually know.
Well, never mind then. OK, I didn't.
Grow up playing with that. But that's also because my
situation was weird. I did say just about everyone.
Just about I. Anyone who's anyone?
Two out of three in bed. Put you on the planet.
I played like the earliest memory of Mario Party was on the
N64. I forgot which one.
God, I think that's one. Two or three.
Yeah, I think. I I didn't play like whatever
mini game it was that you had to like spin the fucking stick and
cause your goddamn hand. I think that was.
One, I think, yeah, I think it was 1.
Because that released and then they were like, oh, let's give
everyone gloves. And I'm pretty sure that was
Mario Party. One you're going to share with
the rest of class like. Cookie.
OK, you're going to share. Cookie.
OK, cool. Actually, how do these taste?
These are Hershey's. Right.
Thank you. It's a neck break cookie player
4. Do you want a cookie?
I see. Put your mouth up to the
charging halt over here. We'll shove the crunchy.
Thrill. Speaking of, I got Reese's here.
It's just Turkey. Let's just turn into a food cast
now. Oh God.
Thank you actually chase the Reese's in that.
He's pretty good. Well, you know, Mario Party,
Mario Party 8, a lot of people, from what I've heard in general
kind of didn't like the the movement that you had to do with
the remote. And so they kind of really
didn't give Mario Party 8A fair chance, but it's actually a
pretty, pretty good Mario Party. However, I have since played, I
think 7:00 and 6:00 and I, I can kind of agree that those ones
are better. Like not even like not even like
the movement of the we aside, just game play wise, they're
they're more focused on the party aspect and I feel more
party like. Yeah, yeah.
And I can't remember which one it was.
It wasn't the one with the day night cycle, but I think it was
6. I could be wrong, but I was, I
was over at Jack's house one day.
We were just playing to us us too, actually.
This is the only time I was at his house, funny enough.
And we we just decided to play Mario Party.
And I was like, you know what I'm going to put, I'm going to
put this orb right here. And it was like the comic orb or
space, whatever it was, basically it made the comic
space. And whenever you landed on that
space, yeah, it didn't use the space.
You this space still was there. It took control of somebody
else's space that they had an item on or a trap or something.
And I'm like, you know what? Everyone's going to land here.
And I said that jokingly. Well, you know, here, here comes
one turn in specific where everyone but me landed on that
space and I pretty much at that point controlled the entire
board. Like nobody could land on a
space without them losing coins or losing a stock or something
like losing an item and just giving it to me.
It was, it was really fucking funny how it turned out like I
just made, I made that one comment jokingly and then it
turned out to be real. Like that just lives in my mind
rent free now. Mario Party has such a fun time.
Again, not, I don't think 9 or 10.
I talked about those last time. One of those two sucks, but
there was what? Superstar?
That one's all right. And then there's Jamboree, which
is the newest one. Newest one right now, I think,
yeah. I think so.
I don't think there's there's not one on switch to yet.
I played Jamboree, I wouldn't say it's as fun as like 7 or 6,
but it's definitely gone back to roots.
Yeah, it's a lot better than Superstar.
Oh yeah. Yeah, no, definitely.
Because the one on that first one on switch just.
It wasn't. Man.
I want to say it was boring but. Boring.
I mean, you had you had the extra characters that would
follow you and you had extra dice and it's just.
I was just doing too much. Yeah, I was about to say doing
too much like. You.
And each character's dice was different, like just one to 10.
Yeah. One to 10.
Come on, it's it's simple. They were changing too much that
it didn't need to be changed. Like oh like oh Wario loses 2
coins or he moves 6 spaces what the fuck?
Or, or Bowser, I think he I think he's zero in 10 or no one
in 10 or something like. That one in 10/1, 2:10 and.
Then Mario was like 123456. Yeah, one through 10.
Come on. I wonder if that was the if I'm
thinking of the right series. If if Mario Party.
If you played his Bowser you were pretty much guaranteed to
win I think. Probably because you either got
one move or 10 like 1 space or 10 spaces.
Yeah, and it was kind of just blowing through the map.
Yeah. Like that's that.
I don't know if that was intentional or that was an
oversight. Like dear God.
I mean, Wario was kind of the same way.
I think he had two of the six sides where he'll lose 2 coins
and then the other ones were sixes.
Yeah, or sevens. Something like.
That yeah, high number. God, that's but a Mario Party is
always a fun time. You can kind of just boot up any
of them, play for Oh yeah, like 1020 turns.
Yeah, it's funny to fucking friends though.
As kids me and my brother would play 50 turn games.
We. We would go through like 5 hours
and still not be done with the game and then we would like put
it on pause and we would actually finish a part.
Like we would come back and finish the surprising amount of
those 50 turn games. See what's funny?
Never do it. Never play.
That's way too long. Yeah.
Have any? I mean, I couldn't pay attention
to it. It's an hour and a half for 20
rounds, isn't it? I think so, yeah.
Like it's already long enough. Yeah, you know.
But as a kid, you have infinite time.
Well, sure. Yeah.
As an adult, you're like, what's?
50 rounds of fun and like, you can get as many coins, as many
stars as you really want at that point, yeah.
Yeah, no, what's funny is going back to Mario Party One with the
whole joystick screwing up your hand.
Do you know they made a glove as a solution for that?
Yeah, that's what I brought up. I I, I said that earlier.
That did you? Yeah, that Nintendo literally
gave away gloves. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's funny. Because people were getting
blisters and calluses on their. They were screwing their hands
up and bleeding. Yeah, yeah.
I don't think we like me or my brother did that, but it was
kind of messed up. I've never played him 64 party,
but so I wouldn't know it's I want to know I'm good keeping my
hands the way. They I mean as long as you don't
play one you'll be fine. OK, you know what?
Fair. They they did learn after that
they're like, yeah, we can't do any of that.
Yeah, no, because. We were getting fucking hurt.
And shit and like they had to do something.
And I, I would definitely say try out some of the Mario
Parties on the N64. It was, they're a good time.
They really are, and they do also hold up as well.
That's that's kind of how I feel about 6-6 is really fun.
Like you can especially the map where you have to climb up the
mountain to get to the top. There's a gong or whatever with
a really annoying noise gong. No party games are always a
always a fun time like again make way never to get it, it is
so good. Let's do it.
I would say let's try ultimate chicken horse, but I don't think
we're gonna have as much fun as make way.
Like we might as well just play make way at that point.
It's the same concept. You, you, you have a flag that
you're trying to get to and you're trying to parkour to it.
And you can build platforms and walls and you can like kind of
like wall jump up walls and whatnot.
And and you can add like saws or traps or whatever.
And yeah, it can get chaotic, but I think we might as well
just play. At that point I just play make
way. Yeah, right.
I know this isn't a party game, but.
Peak. I've been seeing way too much
on. That I have seen so much on it
too. I've seen streams but not too
many. It looks fun.
It does. It does actually look a lot of
fun. I don't know too much about it,
I haven't really looked into it. So the I understand the basics.
You and your friends are crash landed on a deserted island and
your goal is to climb the peaks so you light signal flares so
you guys can get off the island. Problem is, you have to manage
your hunger, your thirst and your weight and your stamina and
your weight. So when you go to climb, if you
lose your stamina, you'll just fall off the face of the
mountain. OK.
Yeah, if you eat something, you have the chance of docking
yourself out or killing yourself as well.
Holy shit, yeah. What?
Oh my God. Because you you have to eat
random things you find. Oh OK, I see the survival island
situation. That's right.
And also depending on what you eat, that could add to your like
your stomach weight value. Yeah.
Which can make you have which and it.
Gets rid of your stamina. Oh.
There's a lot more to this than I think.
Yeah, there's there's. OK.
And I'm still so interested in trying.
It. I respect that.
I don't think I would be trying it.
Well, no, it looks fun, but I don't think it's, I don't know,
I I think I'm good. I respect where what it's doing
that is. And in fact, it also has a
fucking story. I mean God damn shit, Yeah.
Like. And the the the island I think
is supposed to change every week.
Really. Or is it every week or every
day? I've never heard about those
actually but that makes sense considering like I kind of saw a
different biomes. Yeah.
I thought I was just one really tall mountain and you just lined
up the mountain. You have like checkpoints along
the way or something? They what the developers change
the map every like day or week or whatever.
I believe so. I mean because like.
Yeah. In the trailer there was like a
just a regular island, there was a thorny area, there was lava or
like. Yeah, I could be wrong, but I
believe the island's supposed to rotate.
That I believe it. That like looking at the
trailer? I believe it, yeah.
Replayability. That's that's pretty cool if
that's if that's how that goes, that's pretty nice.
OK, right. All right.
I know you won't play it maybe, but.
Maybe peer pressure? Peer pressure no.
Peer pressure don't work on. Him.
I don't know. I've tried.
You already tried that one to Mark.
We ain't gonna win this. Although we we do have Emma's
computer set up now you can get my wife involved.
They're gonna say you're gonna force me into my.
Emma's computer. That's right.
Yeah, actually, we we could do that.
Yeah. I just really wish she could
play the other side, man. God damn it.
I know. We got to get her a better.
Record. It's a.
It's like a it's a more horror focused phasmophobia.
Oh, that's right. You guys were talking about
this? But her graphics card is just
slightly bad. It's it's just, it's slightly
bad enough to where it's not gonna.
It's just below the minimum requirements.
Can you just like over clock it isn't that how that works?
Just make it better we just download more ram we.
Do not have an AIO for it. Just download more.
Ram, I don't why. Don't you just download?
More RAM you wouldn't download a car.
Download a house. You can download a house.
It's called a picture. I mean, nothing's stopping me
from downloading a house and printing out my own house using
a 3D printer. Have you seen that they actually
do that they make they they use yes, make their different for
concrete. Yeah, yeah.
For the for the concrete pouring, it's it's much more of
kind of like a stunt sort of house.
Yeah, I wouldn't buy it. More of a flex.
Yeah, yeah, more of, oh, I can afford to do this, but it's not
really great. Anyway, we're more of a game
podcast, yeah, but I, I think unless we have more games to
talk about, I think we're good here.
We've. I'm good.
I can't think of it anymore. I.
Think we're good? With it, I think that I talked
about what I wanted so. Yeah, I'm I got.
A I'm fat. I'm.
A Furby a ride we got we got make you instantly went with
make way. Oh fuck yeah, cuz that's like
this. Game target sighted locked.
I knew exactly. I knew exactly what I wanted to
talk about. Fucking make way.
I love it so much. No, seriously, go buy it.
Yeah, go buy it. And play with your.
Friends, it's a lot. Of fun you.
You. Will be surprised at how fast
you've been on the floor. Yes, yeah, it's it's so fucking
good. Like the amount of times that
you just yell at, yell at your friends, just get to that
checkpoint and then don't get the checkpoint.
God damn it, Everybody sighs. They get upset.
How could you not make it? And then, you know, you're like,
well. I know we should end this, but
just one more thing that the start of that one race with the
two fans. You, Brandon, you could not make
that second this save your life. Oh, that's right.
I am great with fan placement. I remember I was the the Viking
ship and like, that's not how sales work because.
Driving into the fan, I was the fans trying to blow.
You off the turn and I was I was slowly inching forward through
the fan wind and. Then you fucked up the turn.
You still drove off. The that fucking turn.
Was. My fucking nemesis.
I could not because there were a couple times I was.
I was the only one alive. Yeah.
And I try to go around it, you know?
Nope. Just get blown up.
That map was compact. What happened is that it was an
extremely sharp turn. It wasn't.
Very sharp at the beginning of the match.
It's fine because you know, it's just a turn.
Well, for two rows, rounds in a row, I got fans and I just put
the fans on. No, no, you have three in the
pack. Yeah.
I was going to say it was one round.
You just say, hey, I. Put two fans on I.
Fuck you, get off my bus. Yeah.
Pretty much. Shit was fucking wild.
So you're trying to gain speed to get in front of everybody,
but you also want to have the momentum to get through the
turn. But you also want to turn early
because of that fan, otherwise you won't have the grip to.
But it was OK. So it was like a hairpin.
I'm talking like 135° turn. Yeah, it was.
Bad. Yeah, it.
Was really bad. Of those fans, chef's kiss all.
Right, final words get make way. I think we should end this here.
So plug in for player 4. You guys can unplug.
Bye everybody.
