Hello, everybody. Welcome back to Plug In for
Player 4. I'm Mark and I'm here with these
two. I'm Juan.
I'm 70. What's my kid in the head except
for really horrible OSHA violations?
Got something magical and full of wonder?
You dirty hoe. I'm sorry, baby.
Wait, was that in the movie? Yes.
Literally, he had a hoe. It's been.
Oh yeah, MM Myers just dreadedly had an actual fucking hoe.
The gardening equipment. Yeah, like there it.
Is so long since I watched that movie?
It's a fever dream, yes. And all I know is that he was a
terror. Yeah, absolutely.
And when he gets no, see my favorite is when he gets kicked
in the balls and then it just cuts to him on a fucking swing
and shit and whatever. Song playing the the cooking
show. Yeah, or the cooking show.
He just. Cuts off his own tail like
that's. Oh God, that's right.
Or the that's it, the the scene that will always stick out to
me. It's like, oh, you want to
drive? Here you go.
Push the steering wheel to the side.
Another steering wheel. Oh, you want to drive too?
Here you go. They're all they're all three
just driving. What is happening?
Or the name of the car. Oh yeah, I can't remember.
I think it was shit. I think it was because the kids
like, oh, you mean quick, quick, don't.
And that's why they don't do live action anymore.
It was not a good idea. I mean, it was all right with
the Grinch, but. Wasn't that why his career
stopped for a bit? Was because of them?
Probably. Yeah, you really don't.
I haven't. I haven't seen like Myers in a
long time and like anything. Well aren't I know they're doing
another Shrek so he's coming back to voice act that.
Yeah, yeah. I.
Besides that, I. Thought they were doing another
Austin Powers or something. Oh, I think they should leave
Austin Powers. Yeah, honestly, because it's.
It's for a different time. Yeah, Goldmember, man, that
fucking. Yeah, but again, it's also from
a different time. Yeah, I don't know how that
would be nowadays. Yeah, things are differently
changed. Would you like a schmuck and a
pancake? I wouldn't know.
I don't watch movies. Uncultured motherfucker.
So. I mean, yeah, you're right.
No, Yeah, you're completely right.
No, I am uncultured. I'm not going to deny that.
But call me a swine. Yeah, I'll have you know, Sir,
that I have a sow. He lost us.
I'd lost two guys. He lost us.
Anyways, what have you guys been doing lately?
There's no way. I really haven't been playing
much. I mean, I've been I've been
playing a game called Dorf Romantic where it's a tile based
game where you got a match up. It's a hexagonal tiles.
You got to match up tiles to other tiles.
Or there's there's yes, it's a hexagon, but there's six
different sides that each side could be.
There's like planes, wheat, forest, water, train, and city
and if you match up a tile perfectly, meaning all edges
match, then you get an extra tile back.
If you sometimes you'll get a quest.
If you complete the quest you'll get 5 tiles back.
Oh that was my God. Holy shit.
You're going to break that. Chair, I think I'm going to.
I'm not even doing anything that.
Chair's like. Holy shit that sounded like Oh
my head. It did.
We've had that chair since I was a child, so that's like a damn
near old 20 year old chair. Go on, I am.
All right. I think you're good.
No, I'm not fair. Shut up.
I'm not done. He's not done.
I'm not done yet. But if you, if you complete a
quest, which is like, oh, you need to have this many trees or
at least this many trees and you get 5 tiles back.
And if you sometimes they will have flags on the quest, once
you complete the quest, you'll get a flag.
If you close off all tiles. Meaning like there's no way to
connect like for example, trees to more trees of that like that
group. Then you get even more tiles
back, which is pretty cool. I've yet to go infinite because
you can do that and people can get scores into the hundreds of
thousands and I've highest I've gone is 16,000.
So I'm very far off. That's all I really, really been
playing other than that, like balloons or actually Monster
Hunter now, ever since that episode, I've really gotten the
last time we talked. I've really gotten into it.
Yeah, I've been playing it on and off.
I see. Yeah, you're you've gotten
surprisingly fast to hunt to rank 25.
I mean 23 is the last I saw. Yeah, I think it's still 23.
I've been trying to find the time to play it but.
Dude, my, my work has two gathering points right there.
So every three hours I you can just go and grab things or I can
do hunt a thongs. So like while I'm on lunch, I
just do a hunt a thong for 10 minutes or so and it is your
crew resources. I'm like, this is a Luna Guerin.
I might not ever ever make the armor, but I'll hunt it.
Fair enough, Oh well, I guess for me I've well that new
Fallout 4 update came out so it. Was a new one.
Yeah, it's a anniversary. Anniversary thing, man,
Creation's been great. This kind of I'm not going to
lie at being the anniversary for Fallout 4 kind of lackluster,
but. I mean, the game's old.
It's old. It is now 10 years old.
Yeah, because it came out when I was in high school.
Yeah, I remember my like, hell, you and Ethan talking about it.
Is it like, where do I where do I get wire?
Oh, you have to go to this specific guy.
Like, I literally remember that conversation.
Yeah, just one of the random memories I have.
Yeah, no, I've, I've been playing that the those new
creations and whatnot. Yeah, I mean, it's been fun.
It's just the, you know, updating.
Yeah. You know what happens when
Bethesda does that shit? Something's always got a break,
but that's that's the joy. But.
Yeah, if it wasn't, I don't want to say buggy, but if it wasn't
as buggy as it is, I don't think it would have been as fun
because I have seen some buck shit in my how many years
playing it. It's so fucked, man.
Yeah, that was fights that. I will say.
Not really much. This might date the episode a
bit but I picked up some Avatar the Last Airbender magic cards
today and I am super hyped for the pre release this weekend
with my buddy because this is one of my favorite TV shows
growing up. Yeah, yeah.
God it's I need to go back and rewatch it.
I literally haven't watched it since I was a child.
It was a good show. Very good show.
It's on Netflix. I don't have Netflix.
Oh OK, well Emma and I also have a box set.
Oh shit. Oh, I had to find a functional
DVD then because my my last time I used my DVD player in my room,
it was Kung Fu Panda. I could hear the music, nothing
else. Characters were like and I only
heard like, I'm like what the hell is happening?
It was the funniest break. I'm like, this is great and all
but I can't watch the movie. Well, I mean you do.
You do have a DVD player. Yeah, what?
Xbox that is. That is literally a DVD.
Player. I didn't know that.
Blu-ray and DVD. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you can.
You can play it. I've used it.
Yeah, since when I've been. I used it a couple nights ago
just to watch Haunting in Venice.
You know, and I also got a PS2, I should play it, right?
Yeah, so. Yeah, I mean literally about.
You want 144? You want 144B graphics?
Just slap it in that PS2, yeah? I mean it, it was a very good
DVD player for it's time. It was, and I think that's why a
lot of people bought it. Was because Oh yeah.
Cheaper than a DVD player at that point in time.
I mean, that's why people bought the PS3 for a Blu-ray player,
because it was the cheaper Blu-ray player played a lot
because I think those Blu-ray players were over like $1000
and. Oh yeah, they were.
They're fucking expensive. And then now it's like, well,
you know, it's. Just commonplace kind of getting
phased out. Yeah.
Although with the problems of streaming, it's kind of coming
back because people are like, I don't like not owning my shit
so. Or having like a show they want
to watch that was taken off the service and then you know, and I
can't watch it. Yeah, yeah.
These people kind of get a little bit more turned away from
it. Like Uncle Grandpa, they took
that off Hulu. Oh my God I was sad when I heard
about that. That's like one of my favorite
shows ever because of how stupid it is.
Fucking dumb but I love it. What's Good morning.
What do you think? Realistic Flying Tiger?
Mr. Gush. I didn't get into the show.
All I think of is like some sort of weird, like David David Bowie
dream sequence. That's about it.
What? What about you, Billy Bag?
Oh belly bag, I forgot about that.
God damn I I knew so many references to that show.
Now I don't like. I don't remember them now.
Yeah, I know. But I I used to God, I'm pretty
sure my buddy Nick was going to fucking slap me because I I
literally make references all the fucking time.
And what are we doing today, Marco?
Marco man. Marco Man Microwave.
Excuse me Macrowave. Macrowave, yes.
What are we? What are we doing, Microsoft?
Line of single use appliances. The back.
I got 1. Even better.
What are we doing today in Micro Center?
Oh God. Macro Center.
That's what. Macro Center, that's what we'll
sell all this shit, we sell the. Biggest, and I mean.
Big. Ram sticks.
Biggest single use appliance and components.
You want some thermal paste in a 55 gallon?
We got you, Bulk. Mine, you would never use all of
that. You want a bag of old computers
that companies are thrown away because they cannot support
Windows 11? We got you for 20 bucks.
Honestly, that's not awful. It saves it from being e-waste.
So I I saved the. Fucking planet did you save it
from? Walmart.
Is that what you said? Huh.
Did you save it from Walmart? Is that what you said?
I think you save it from e-waste.
From e-waste because they couldn't support Windows 11.
So they can repurpose it. Put Linux on.
Yeah, because Linux is the future now.
Yeah. I'm turning away from Microsoft
macros. Microsoft.
There we go. Now we can make my own.
Microsoft, we'll call it. I was going to be funny.
Anyways, I've got two things I want to talk about.
Oh, this was supposed to be a one thing episode, but then we
had an announcement come out and I was like, you know what?
I want to talk about this too. So I feel like topic number 2 is
going to be shorter to talk about.
Yeah. Short.
Let's talk about Steam's announcements for their new
family of console and gaming appliances.
So they've got the Game Cube. Basically.
Which is the the Steam console. It's the shape of an actual like
Game Cube without the handle. Before time began, there was the
cube God. Damn it.
When you made that reference on discord that fucking sent me.
Well, you were close to the beat.
You said that. Give me the cube.
I'm sorry, but that's just what I think about.
I'm just like. Honestly.
Honestly I love the Michael Bay transformer, the first one
especially. The first couple were greater
than they just had lost the plug.
But the cube, I guess like the, the, the specs are kind of out
and like a lot of people are like, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, the
cube, 8 gigs of VRAM. Oh God.
And then did you guys see that 2/3 of it is just heat sync?
Yeah. I'm not surprised that's where a
lot of consoles are nowadays. They're just huge.
That's that's. I mean, I'm not too worried
about that as long as it works. I mean, I mean the how's the
how's the heat heat, the heating problems for those steam decks?
Is that OK or is it just? It's OK, it doesn't get as hot
as the switch does. Yeah, So honestly, given given
Steam's track, giving Steam's track record with at least the
Steam Decks, I have faith in that at least they'll be able to
keep it cool enough to play. I would definitely say the the
Steam Deck, it's depending on what you're playing that fucker,
the back of it can get pretty hot.
Now I've played Breath of the Wild and the Switch has gotten
hot as fuck. Yeah, but I'm kind of edging
more towards the Steam Deck. Get hot gets hotter.
Oh really? I mean the.
Switch. I think the throttles itself
after a little. While I also haven't used my
Steam Deck a lot. I should, but I just don't.
But have you ever gotten to the point where it gets too hot?
It crashes. No.
No, even with like hardcore. Gaming.
Oh yeah, no it. Does so, yeah.
No, like I said, I kind of have faith in Steam to at least make
it so that you can't really easily overheat the thing.
Yeah, yeah. No, I've, I have never had a
crash from like heat just there and I mean it pumps out air, I
can tell you that much. I mean there were people huffing
it for some God. Forsake people huff everything
like I don't know what it is, but like it's a console exhaust.
Yeah, why? I love.
Hot fucking hair. Like you told me about that.
I think the Steam Deck when I first got it, Like, you know,
people huff there. What?
Yeah. One, why?
And two, why would you tell me? I think if I remember, if I
remember correctly, Valve was like can you not do that?
Like what the fuck is wrong with you?
Anyway, I don't, I understand like people be like, oh, I'm
going to huff a marker or something because, you know, it
actually has fumes. Yeah, which is not any better.
It's not. I'm not saying that's a good
practice or anything, I'm just saying that for an electronic,
that's just really fucking weird.
Well, anyway, going from the back of the console to the
front, did you guys see that you can change the face plate?
Oh my God, yeah. That's pretty cool.
Yeah, you could 3D print your own.
Yeah, exactly. You just need magnets.
Yeah, that's all you need. That's fucking awesome.
Like that's what that was, yeah. That was one of my first
thoughts, 'cause like somebody took off the the black plate and
put on like a orange outline of well, it was there was a
silhouette of TF2 heavy. Yeah, yeah, just 3D print
whatever you want. I mean I've I've showed us an
image of the group chat of somebody changing it to be one
of the cubes from portal. Yes, yeah.
Oh yeah. Yeah, I did see that on Twitter
as well. The entire thing was just the
cube I think, except the back because you need all that all.
The IO and stuff, but yeah, no, that's.
Yeah, the companion. Was cool, yeah.
That's fucking awesome, yeah. I'm.
That's so consumer friendly. So it's being on this topic what
I was going to say earlier with I know people are saying that
they're concerned that, you know, this might fail just like
the other Steam Machines. Yeah, well, it's like, I don't,
I don't think it's going to because now they have a
foundation that they've built with the Steam Deck.
Yeah. They didn't have shit.
Yeah. Well, here's another thing.
It can pretty much play all the console games just about and
then you can emulate the fuck out of everything else.
So it's pretty much it's a one stop shop.
That's basically. For just a gaming rig.
Yeah. And it's like 6 inches.
What big? It's portable.
It's portable as fuck. Like that'll fit in my jacket
pocket. It's.
Yeah, it's literally like a beefed up version of the Game
Cube. Pretty much, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, you're right. It is.
It's literally a beefed up. It's like, it's like they took
the idea of what if we made a modern Game Cube and we just
actually make it really fucking good for the time.
And and the whole thing about the 8 gigs of VRAM in it, it
doesn't really fucking matter with that.
Like I'll be honest, they're yes, having more VRAM is nice,
but you're one you're not going to be running these games at
all. Graphic settings put the high
No, I'm sorry, it's not going to do.
That. I I feel like the the use keys
for this device is really great for me making it as an entry
level PC just for gaming. Right.
And I feel like that that's the actual purpose for this thing.
And I mean, if you really want to want to make it a
full-fledged computer, I mean, you put whatever operating
system you want on it. Yeah, if you really want Windows
on it, yeah, do it. It's all supported hardware.
Yeah, so like, you can do whatever the fuck you want with
it. Well didn't they also say that
it would be a bitch to do but you can actually upgrade it?
What are you talking about? Upgraded like.
Like actually upgrade components of the machine like the RAM?
I haven't really heard drives. I I haven't heard anything, but
I know you can get. I think you can get it in 500
GB. Or 500?
TB or A10 TB which is. Weird, I'll have to look.
At that I might. Basically, I might be wrong, but
I thought I heard somewhere where somebody was like, yeah,
Steve's saying you can upgrade this if you want to.
You probably could, because I mean you can with a Steam Deck.
Because you can with a Steam Deck, yeah, but it's also it's
like the most consumer friendly thing you can fucking do Yeah,
if you want to make a name for yourself in the market now I'm.
Pretty like, like I said, I'm pretty sure they you could
upgrade this with probably minimal problems because like I
said, the Steam Deck that's easy to replace joysticks, Yeah,
because they're literally modular pieces.
Yeah, I'm talking, I'm talking about the hardware.
Not like, yeah, not like, oh, you got to replace a joy con,
like, physically. Yeah, no.
The upgrade the RAM and the CPU and stuff like that.
That shouldn't be a problem. The only issue I could come up
with though, it's just form factor, but you know that's
something that you can work around.
OK, but here's here's like kind of a prediction that I have is
that a lot of people aren't going to get it kind of like the
Steam Deck. It's going to be those few that
like really know what they're kind of doing with technology.
Yeah. Plus those majority that, you
know, want it to emulate and do whatever with, kind of like you
can already do with the Steam Deck.
Yep. It just seems like you can play
all the games instead of just the verified and yeah the
whatever the exclamation. Yeah, that's playable.
Question, whatever it is. Exclamation point, Yeah.
Play at your own risk, really. Yes, yes, I can see that.
Like I don't know if you're going to be able to play
everything because you're you're technically speaking, you are
still using a Steam Deck, just desktop.
Yeah, because you're still using Steam OS.
You're still using. Linux.
I wonder if they'll have a desktop mode just like the Steam
Deck. Oh yeah, yeah, it will.
It'll be probably just like this.
I mean if it's running Steam OS. Yeah, it'll have everything true
that the Steam Decks got. Yeah, just, you know, like I
said it. It's a It's a beefier version
of. It but the question everyone is
asking will it run big steam mode?
Big picture? What is it called?
I think it is big picture. Mode, I mean it fucking better,
I mean. I remember turning on big
picture mode once and it was like all weird.
It looked like the PlayStation menu.
I'm like Oh my God, unless that's not.
I'm like but Oh my God, what's this?
I did that too. I was like, how do I get out of
here? I'm lost.
Well. Well, now the Big Picture mode
is literally just the Steam Decks interface and game mode.
Yeah, So honestly, that's nice. You're right, especially if
you're using like ATV and whatnot.
And here's the thing, as as their OS is maturing, more
companies are going to be like, well, let's start trying to make
our game supported on this operating system as well.
Yeah, I mean it. So kind of going forward,
outside of emulating things that just won't work normally, you
you could easily make an argument that people are going
to start making games specifically for Steam OS.
Right, because I remember maybe 10 years ago.
Math No, Seven years ago. Eight years ago, looking at, you
know, a bunch of Steam games, can't remember any specific, but
looking at Steam games to be like, oh, this one is only
supported on Windows, This one is only supported on or is like,
everything was supported on? Yeah, everything basically was
supported on Windows, Yeah. I and then you have like a
handful of games that actually worked on Linux.
Yeah. And and like a little bit more
on Mac, maybe a little. Yeah, I know a little more on
Mac, but still a lot of them did not work on Linux.
But now that Valve is kind of working on Linux, people are
like, oh wait, maybe we should look into this.
Yeah, which is interesting. Just that flop flip flop that I
would have never expected in. Oh yeah.
You know, seven years. I've, I've been seeing a lot
more people on TikTok and other social media saying that they're
actively working to move towards Linux at this point.
Yes, like people that said that I've never expected to move away
from Microsoft. They're like I'm switching over
to Linux just because well, for one, you won't have all the
bloatware that you have in Microsoft.
You get to actually have control over your system.
And for me personally, I switched over my my coding
laptop from Windows to Linux and it's like revitalized it to the
point where I can actually use it again.
So what do you have to like code in Morse now or?
No, I mean, I mean I'm still able to download Python, Java, I
can still get C++ when I get around to getting it installed.
Like quite literally all the stuff that I work with I just
download from the web anyways. So the operating system doesn't
matter as long as they have something supporting it.
And then a lot of the the open source softwares that I use
already have ports to Linux as well.
So it's just I get to not have to buy a new laptop?
Yep, I get to keep my old laptop and I get to make it run for
longer now. Yes, and at faster speeds than
what it was when it was still on Windows 10.
Now, Linux is definitely something that I've always been
kind of keeping a close eye on. We're getting to the territory
where I don't know shit because I only know Windows, and even
then I I scratched the surface fair.
Fair. Looks like we have to duct tape
them into a chair and make them learn Linux now, yeah?
I'll bring my yeah. Open my eyes.
Yep. Show you a whole new world of
possibilities just because I mean you.
You don't have the AI bullshit. You don't have the marketing
constantly in your face. You don't have the apps getting
removed. You don't have your data being
siphoned off every fucking moment of the day.
You don't have the watermark at the corner of your screen if you
don't want to pay for the operating system.
It's just so much. Beaked into it.
From what Microsoft used to be, and it's also getting better at
being more user friendly as more people start getting onto it.
Yeah, 'cause when Linux was in its infancy, very early, it was.
It was only command line. Yeah, it was.
It was not user friendly, yeah, but now like.
It's got a full working yeah desktop in it, like like the the
way I have it set up right now, it's actually a lot more like
Apple in terms of layout. Yes.
And that that that you can easily change too.
Yeah, yeah, you literally. You can customize Linux to be
whatever the fuck you want, Yeah.
That's cool. Like if you wanted to be more
like a Windows layout, there's distros for that.
Like that. Yeah, like that.
KDE. Yeah, or or mine, I think I have
just basic Ubuntu for just software development.
It's got more of an Apple layout, but yeah, no, it's
there's niche use cases for all the different distros and it
just really depends on what do you want your machine to be very
specifically good at. Yep.
This is off topic, but I thought of it and I don't want to
forget. Did you guys see that there's
something going on with Ubisoft? So they didn't, they didn't
release their. I think I've heard of something.
No, they didn't release their profit this month as well as
something I didn't hear about this and something else froze.
I can't remember what, but people are like is it, is it
time? Is it?
Is it time? Is it time for the collapse?
A lot of people here let me try to find out my phone, so fill
the air. Well, I find it.
But yeah, a lot of people are just thinking that it's it's
really funny. I I mean I I know that Shadows
wasn't a flop, but it also wasn't like the saving magic
bullet that they were hoping for.
Yeah. No, they they're, they were kind
of just too far gone, Yeah, at that point.
I mean it, it performed about as much as you expected it, besides
all the controversy. And shit, that's what it was.
Ubisoft postponed its earnings report and Oh yeah and halted
the trading of its shares. Oh yeah, they're they're they're
done. They're they're in deep shit.
It's either they sell IPS or they just go belly up at this
point that that is such a big red flag for a publicly trained
company. Yep.
Yeah, what is? That especially one that we've
been watching for years, understanding that it's been
struggling such pictures. What the fuck did you find that
Twitter? Yeah, but I was like Ubisoft
allergic to good ideas, and they're just that dog dog with
the stupid God damn it. Twitter at it again.
I'm not shocked. Yeah, I'm not either.
It's amazing. I am not either.
But yeah, let's go ahead and steer back towards our our topic
towards the consoles and stuff. So we've talked about the Steam
console. Let's talk about the controller
next. I want it.
I want it right fucking now. If I don't get it right now, I'm
going to do things I shouldn't. I want it now.
So are the D pads, Are they the square bits underneath the the
joy cons? So that is literally this.
Steam Decks touch pads. That's literally what they are.
Oh, so they're touch pads? They're not.
They're not like D pads, like where you press down on it, you
just swipe your finger. Yeah, literally, like I said in
the the Steam Deck, that's what you use for like the mouse and
everything on the Deck. Yeah, that, that makes a lot
more sense. 'Cause there's there's like the
D pad on the right face buttons on the left and then you have
the sticks and then you have the.
Yeah, the touch pads. Yeah, the touch pads on the
inside of the the the grips, right.
And then you you these controllers also have back
buttons. On the.
Oh shit, on the back. So kind of similar to the Steam
Controller I have right now, but they're they're actual like
physical. Oh, I see.
Oh, no, that's kind of one. That's the old one.
Oh, that's actually pretty cool. What's the new one?
It's not showing the back of the new one.
The wireless receiver also acts as a charger, which is really
nice. It's magnetic so you just clip
it on it's real fucking goal. That's honestly awesome, holy
shit. And then it also has like your
Steam logo button. Yeah.
And your which is on on the Steam Deck as well, a little
option button and you think. This thing is a lot of fucking
control surfaces. Yeah, I see it.
There's the R4 and R5. What about the blue section?
Do you know if that's anything? I think that's.
Probably the rumble because it has HD Rumble in it.
OK. Yeah, because.
It's similar. I mean, looking for where that's
placed, that's going to be more in like the, the, the balls of
your hands. Oh, I.
See, we're. Kind of like.
Grip enabled gyro, that's what it is.
We're calling it Grip Sense and then it's a new input for Steam
Controller that enables gyro with capacitive touch hold and
release to enable and disable gyro aiming aiming.
Oh yeah, you can also map it like any other button.
What the? What the?
Fuck this sounds like they're taking the best of both worlds
from fucking Xbox and PlayStation controllers.
My problem is the inline sticks 'cause I like the Xbox layout
and I think it's far superior so.
Well, it's got a really good ergonomic.
Layout. Well, yeah, that's why the Xbox
controller has always been a PC thing.
Yeah. Yeah, now I'm I'm used to those
kind of controls like the sticks like that.
Yeah, because of the PlayStation, I'm used to it.
But I do like the I prefer the layout for the Xbox.
Yeah, yeah. But honestly.
If the controller and try it or at least if you get it, I'll try
it off of you and. I mean, I'll, I'll try it too
seems. Really, really good.
Yeah, No, I'm, I'm excited for that.
I wanna. Especially because I remember
you mentioned that it's got a magnetic joysticks.
Yes. So it's really resilient instead
of like the plastic. Oh yeah, Which?
A lot of the companies that OK. That's what a lot of these other
companies should be using because I think they're, I don't
want to say that they're completely immune to stick
drift, but it's. No hard.
It's harder. It's like a lot harder to get
stick drift. Yeah, yeah.
So that's, that's, you know what they should be doing, because
I'm sorry that the, the fucking the Xbox controllers we've
gotten, they could have done so much fucking better.
Yeah, no, I, I, I think that's more of a problem with the
fucking Nintendo sticks. Nintendo's had a fucking huge
problem with it with the Switch. Well, especially the and.
It was so the joy cons, The joy cons, they always drifted.
Yeah, and and like $80. It's like go fuck yourself.
I. Still don't know they didn't get
sued like it was. I thought.
I thought they did. They basically came to a
standstill. It's like if they acknowledged
it, then they would get sued, but if they didn't, then they
wouldn't. So like even though the even
though the information was there, Jack Jack can describe it
way better, but it was it was basically that's where if they
acknowledged it, then yes, they would go.
But like I. It was weird it never happened.
It was weird, just dragged it out on the courts until whoever
was suing them couldn't afford it anymore.
I'm not even sure if it was that again.
That's simply what they do. I mean, looking at what they
tried to do with Powell World until Powell World.
Actually, let's not go down that route.
We're not going down that route. I know your thoughts on that,
but I'm just saying that sort of the corporate playbook is just
outlast the opposition until it's just all gone.
Every company does that shit. But yeah, no, I'm kind of
interested in this controller the more that I'm hearing about
it. Yeah, me too.
Yeah, I want I. Want.
I'm not sure how I feel about the like activated and
deactivated like grip. I'm not sure how I feel about
that, but I'm sure you can disable that.
You can shut it off, yeah. If it's, you know that much of a
problem to shut off. Right you.
Know yeah, no, I, I, I want to I want to get those and hopefully
they're not super expensive like I'll be honest.
I'm expecting them to be more expensive than controllers
typically are, but at the same time it seems the quality going
into it is going to justify it. At that point, yes, yeah, like
if they. Because if they make it more
resilient and it has a lot more tech built into it, then you can
justify it as oh, this is a more crafted product than just oh
we're going to cheaply mass produce these this shit.
Yeah, no, I if they're like 7080 bucks, you know, like a for like
how much like a regular controller is for like a
PlayStation or an Xbox, you know Yeah, I could I'd, I'd buy it
because, because long term you're saving money without
having not having. To buy a controller every couple
of months. Yeah, because companies are
fucking stupid. But then so moving on I the VR
headset. Yeah, this is this is the area
that I was really curious on hearing you guys about because I
don't have VR and I know you guys do.
I mean, here's the thing, I only have one VR headset, only ever
had one VR headset, so my knowledge is limited compared to
you, Brandon, you've had at least two that I know of.
I'd be interested in watching videos of it like seeing what
the actual like when you have it on what that looks like or the
actually I guess the inside what that looks like like what you
get to see through. Cause I've talked about this in
a previous episode. Might be the last one where I
want to be more immersed in my VR and the the Metaquest 3 has
circles like basically eyeglasses yeah yeah when, but I
can still see like me like if it's not on properly I can still
see like light shining up my nose and all that and in the
room and yeah. That's interesting with the, the
PSVR 2, I don't have those problems at all 'cause the, the
lenses are not like circles, they're, they're kind of shaped
like for your eyes, I you'd have to see a picture of it, but the
way it seals to your face, you don't see any light whatsoever.
It's and it's not uncomfortable either, which is nice.
It's just that that headset is a lot more demanding on your
computer. So.
Yeah, and like, my thing with the Metaquest 3 is that if it's
weird 'cause I need to have it like really close to my face.
Like I need to like basically grab my hands and like, push it
up to my face. If I want to see clearer it, it
sounds weird, but it makes sense.
So then I really have to ratchet the, the, the strap on the back
of my head tight. But then that kind of like hurts
my head after a while. Have you ever gotten that
tightening like I? I've had this problem with not
the PSVR but the Matterquest 2. I've noticed if it's too tight
back here on the back of my head this starts to go numb.
I haven't had that happen now. That is a weird ass feeling when
your head right back here goes numb.
Well, yeah, but that's because it wasn't designed by humans.
It was designed for lizard people like Mark Zuckerberg for
their metaverse. And hello fellow human, I am
human too. He's going to fuck it, kill me.
Yeah, sweet baby rays. That's also my.
Sweet. Oh yeah, I have sweet baby rays
out on the shelf just like any other normal human would.
We just put sweet baby rays on these ribs.
Sweet baby rays, sweet baby. He looks like a what did we
talk? Alien.
Mark Zuckerberg. The.
Owner of Meta Facebook. Yeah, I know that, but what's
the sweet baby Reyes stuff? Oh you don't?
You don't remember that from when he was showcasing off the
metaverse shit? No 'cause I never watched
anything about it. Yeah, OK.
Yeah, that's fair. That's fair.
That is very fair. The the one that I'm familiar
with was just randomly they're showing off like the scene of
the room and it's supposed to be like a living room for some
fucking reason. There's a bottle of sweet Baby
Rays on the shelf in the background.
Like, like, like, like that shelf up there.
Like box shelves, but just the sweet baby rays on display.
God, that's fucking awesome. Yeah.
Product placement, I mean. What what what I'm referencing
is when he was actually smoking these ribs or whatever, which
actually sounded pretty good, you know, smoke ribs.
But he had like his buddies there and whatever they're
outside and you know, sweet baby rays.
We just put some baby rays. It's like, Jesus, are you trying
to fuck it? What are you doing?
Oh God, that makes me think of the Truman Show.
Where is she? Where Truman's wife is always
advertising, just randomly. So that's base, yeah, basically.
What the fuck? He's sitting there and he's
like, what are you talking about?
Grace but you know I I'm wondering if this VR headset is
more of a entry level. I I feel that's what a lot of
like. Like the console idea and the
headset idea are more supposed to be entry level.
Yes, I mean it is also cheaper than the Vive cause the Vive is
still 1K. Yep, really, it's a good
headset, but the problem is I don't think it's been updated.
And yeah, how long it's been out?
When did it come out? Oh God, I can't remember.
I mean here's the thing though, do they update the hardware or
did it stay the same since it came out?
Oh, you know, they, they haven't changed.
They. Haven't changed at all.
Yeah, it is literally the same. Exactly.
So why is it still 1K if the hardware is?
Just the same, the PS and the the Xbox Series actually is.
It would make sense if it came with like the arm and leg
trackers 'cause I know they have that with the yes, with the
Vive. That's like a bundle you can get
or just separate Plus. But you also need to set up
cameras with that as well. Yeah, it's not just a spatial
thing. I have a feeling they prick.
I wonder if they just sort of like, you know, at this point
now people are using other VR headsets.
They kind of just said fuck this one, yeah.
Was it 5 Vive Pro 2? Just the Vive.
Just the Vive, so I think it came.
Out. That's the old 120.
I'm not sure what the new one is called.
Forgot what the the 24 2015? 2016 The original HTC Vive.
Con So that's nine years old. HTC.
Yeah. That's right, HTC.
Yep, Yep. Yeah, the original release date
April 5th, 2016, nearly 10 years ago.
Yeah, then they stopped making phones.
Yeah, HTC. Yeah.
Oh, I didn't know. I didn't know.
Yeah, did not I? Think.
I had AI, had an M8 HTC. One, he had a mate. 8 My buddy
Zach had the M. 7 HTC never fully stopped making phones.
That's large scale. Smartphone manufacturing ceased
after selling a portion of its business to Google in 2018.
That's where we got the Google Pixel.
That makes a. Lot that makes a lot of sense.
So they sold off the majority of their smartphone business and
that became the Google Pixel. OK.
I mean like the pixel I've heard is not.
It's not bad. Yeah, it's not a bad phone.
It just seems like another. Smartphone.
Another smartphone? Yes.
Yeah. I mean, look at, look at the
iPhone. They have not changed that much.
No, I mean granted, I I. Know they've changed.
They've changed the way the fucking camera looks.
It looks like fucking shit. The.
New. I mean I did get a new phone
recently but I I also had an SE-2.
Yeah. So that was like, I swear to
God, it was 2019, which if you look that up, it's going to be
completely wrong. That's why I'm here.
I've. Looked it up before like the
SE-2 is like 02022 or something like that.
I'm like, no, I've had this since 2019 at least, which is.
Weird. Yeah, Now 2022.
Exactly. So I'm not sure.
Yeah, I'm not sure. What the fuck ahead then?
No iPhone SCTO 2020 Apple Watch SCT.
That's what it was 2020 that Yeah, that's what it was 2020.
But I swear to God, like, I had this red iPhone in 2019 back
when the pandemic was going on. Yeah.
But now I have this new phone and I got to say it's, I mean,
yeah, it's still a lot the same, but there's it's it's mainly the
iOS updates now is what really changes the phone.
Yeah, it's more so what's on the phone rather than what is the
phone. Yeah.
I will say out of probably a lot of the updates that Apple has
pushed over the years, this one has probably been the rockiest
because there have since they changed the UI now it's all
glassy, which looks great. But they're even just over the
years they have been, they have been a lot more unstable when
they've come out. I, when you think of Apple, they
like really test things and I just, over the years I've just
noticed that they've just been more lazy on certain things.
Yeah, I can. I can say that Apple's in the
best, but I feel like I'm. Have you guys seen the Apple
Pocket? I'm just like too invested in
like Apple right now, not like invested or whatever, but like
I've, I've been on this path for so long, I feel like trying to
learn Samsung or something else would just be harder than what
it's worth. Yeah.
Like, I like, I wholeheartedly believe you could learn it.
Oh well. For sure I would, but it's just
like. Not without difficulty.
Yeah, 'cause I it's a completely different system.
And granted I can get like if I got a Samsung, there's so many
other games on their Play Store, whatever it's called, that I can
get compared to iOS. Yeah.
I I think what I don't like most about just Apple in general is
the gimmicky products. Yeah, have you seen the pocket?
What the fuck is the pocket? I haven't heard of this.
It is a sling for your phone. Wait a minute, I'm sorry.
Show me a picture. What?
It's literally a small pocket sling.
I could crochet. Put your phone in that you can
Dingle from your arm. I could.
Crochet that I'm working on a big ass Dino, right?
Now and watch that be like 70 to 100 bucks.
I'm working on a big ass Dino right now.
I am halfway through crocheting the body.
Like without any additional like arms or legs.
The body. This has been since October
12th. Something like that, yeah.
So over a month. How much is?
It oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
No, no. I'm guessing 799.
So there's a short strap design and a long strap design.
OK, I'm going with a long strap. All right, Brandon, what do you
think it costs? If this costs like 7-8 hundred
dollars I'm going to punch a hole in the wall right now.
And then? Nathan, I said 799.
So the short strap retails for 150 bucks and the long strap is
230 bucks. Oh, OK.
All right. I mean, that's that's.
Still. Stupid.
It is still stupid, but it's not as stupid as I thought.
It's it's. What are the?
What are the? What are the titles for?
The section on this is from Apple's website by the way.
I'm sorry, but the Apple stand for a fucking whatever was 1000.
Yeah, that's stupid. Was $1000.
One of the one of the descriptor sections was a piece of cloth
crafted crafted in Japan. IPhone Pocket features a
singular 3D knitted construction that is the result of research
and development carried out at I don't know what the fuck.
We found out a pattern online we made.
We bought a machine that could do it and we use that through.
Inspiration from the concept of a piece of cloth and
reinterpreted the everyday utility of the brand's iconic
pleated. Clothing.
You know what this is right here.
This is a piece of cloth. Yeah.
This is yes. That's my dinosaur.
So I guess the history for it is that the the company that
they're going with made Steve Jobs famous turtleneck.
Who the fuck would want that? It serves no practical purpose.
It's it's. They're trying to make it as,
oh, it's, it's a part of your fashion trend.
Speaking of new things, I got a car.
How about that? Oh yeah, you did.
On October 30th, the day before Halloween, it was funny.
I I so I have. I had a 2013 Chevy Cruze funny
enough without cruise control. Yeah, I know.
It's really fucking like, are you serious?
I got in this car. I'm like, you know what?
I kind of want to, like I told Dad, I kind of want to look at
Subaru. And then it took me a while to
actually like, look into Subaru and like actually do this.
But you know, we go there and he's like, all right, I want to
check out a Subaru Impreza, a new one, 2025 brand new.
As soon as I sat in that fucker, it was nice.
It has like headlights that will turn with the steering wheel.
It has like lane assist, which I turned off has actually cruise
control and it will it also has like sensors.
If there's a car in front of you and you can set the distance
too, it will slow down to their speed.
So even if I'm going 60 miles an hour and a car is going 48, it
will slow down to 48, which is pretty nice.
And then once that car like moves out of the way, I guess
goes just go like there's just, it has heated seat.
There's so many things about this car that I'm just like, as
soon as I say I'm like, this is it?
It's awesome. Yeah.
Going from 2013 to 2025. That's such a jump.
It's a very big jump and my because like my car had
Bluetooth, but it was weird. It would didn't even play
through the radio. It was like for calls
specifically, it was horrible for for my 2013 car.
But now my phone just as as soon as you get in the car, it
automatic connects, it'll pop up the maps being like, oh, hey,
you usually go home right about now.
Here's the here's the path to home.
And then it was funny. I swear to God, I got a new
phone. And so again, back to my new
phone. And that Friday I got the phone,
I was like, oh, go to your local game store.
I was like, how do you know that?
Oh, traffic is light. I heard you like Magic the game.
Really. Here are some of the most recent
listings. My fucking phone does that shit
too whenever I'm whenever I'm taking it like it.
Wasn't totally updated until this phone until it started
doing like that's a thing. Yeah, it it does it to me.
When I take Patrick up to superscript in Lakewood, it'll
be like going to Superscript, you creepy motherfucker.
Yeah, I am. Let's go.
So that that opens a can of worms that I want to talk about
at a later date about just data collection and everything that
we have. Yeah.
So it's like, it's nice, that's convenient.
But at the same time, what the fuck are they actually
collecting? Which I saw a video about people
talking about what's actually getting collected and that's.
Scary, I'm sure. Oh, you don't know?
No, I can imagine. I, I will say what pisses me off
about the car and like, this is kind of a minor gripe, but also
like at the same, I'm not sure how to feel about it at the same
time. It's like, Oh yeah, like here's
your location, here's how to get home.
It's like 11 minutes to home. Sure, whatever.
There's a button I can press and I can hold and all.
Like you bring up pretty much bring up Siri in the car and be
like, oh, play this on Spotify. Yeah.
And I'm like, OK, take me to blah, blah blah.
I was like, I'm sorry, I don't know the relocation.
You motherfucker. If you're saying it's 11 minutes
to home, you damn well know my. Location.
Oh, I'm sorry, I don't collect that.
Sure you don't. But just to give you a preview
for whatever we do that there are cars that do record.
I kid you not. Your sexual tendencies, Yeah.
Wow, yeah. Well, man, that would.
That would be awkward, huh? Yeah.
OK, Yeah. For all that sexting and all
that like. No phone from people do we get
in their cars from all the the microphones and sensors and
cameras and then this shit gets passed around.
Fucking car. Office buildings and stuff.
Now your car, you know this is when a car start talking and
shit. You know, the car's rocking back
and forth. The car's like, wait, what are
you doing? But yeah, no, that's a topic for
another day. But I I thought I'd.
Interesting. Tell you guys about that.
I just wanted to talk about my new things.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely. That's no.
I should have brought that but brought that up at the
beginning, but I didn't. Yeah.
No, no, obviously. It's awesome seeing how
convenient it is, but at the same, at the same time, I'm
like, you know, there's also some other things to talk about
that aren't so great about. It I mean, like, I know this is
for a later episode, but here's like my like 2 second stance on
it. 10 years ago my data was everywhere.
It still is everywhere now. What's the difference?
Yeah, fair enough. But that's the end of.
That's all I'm going to say. Yeah, anyways, we.
Can get into it. I forgot there was foam up.
I know I keep in my just. Hopefully this episode sounds
better because there's foam on the walls now, Ethan.
Put up much more foam in the. Room.
Yeah. Brandon put up the black
squares. I put up the wall behind me and
Mark. Honestly I like the wall better
just because not not he. Hates me, yes.
Not a quality thing, but I like the the interchangeable black
and blue. Yeah, that looks a lot nicer.
Yeah. It's so much nicer, right?
Yeah, that this stuff, it's thinner.
It's plus it's old too, so it's kind of like, it's kind of like.
Yeah, yeah. But oh, so it's professional
looking. Yeah, yes, I'm sure we could do
more over there if we got more foam.
Yeah, do stuff. Which we'll have to talk about,
but we'll. Do the topic time.
Is there anything else? We're still good.
I guess we would. Do you guys still want to talk
about handhelds this episode, handheld consoles this episode,
or do we just kind of want to Babble on for a little bit
longer? I'll leave it up to Brandon.
I could do either. I'm putting them on the spot.
Yeah. Dick.
I mean I got 1. You know you.
Want to find out? Micro Penis.
Macro penis Macro penis do. You want pean wah subsidies,
there's supplements. Geez, you won't need Viagra at
that point. What do you think, Plank?
Unfortunately it's only single use though, so.
Happy 1 hell of a strap on. Oh God, what?
Moving on. You're moving on the strap on.
What the fuck's wrong with you? No, we got.
We went off the rail. Yep, we're going into babbling
now. OK, I'm going.
Babble, Babble, Babble, Babble, Babble.
Babble, Babble God. Damn, I forget about that.
Well, you don't get paid unless you do.
I mean, I talked about my crochet dinosaur that I'm
working on for a month, talked about Magic Gathering.
I lied. I in last episode, I said I, I
predicted because plot twist, we recorded that early that I would
be playing off by now. I haven't touched that
motherfucking game yet. Oh, and be confused.
Remember, you talk about and. Then this guy.
This guy thinks it's the bug brand.
That was. Funny bug spray.
That was really funny. Yeah, like you're playing the
what? Bug spray.
You're playing bug spray? No, I'm playing the movie
Hairspray. Idiot.
What you on the planet? You can add reverb to that
Ashley pickle holy. Shit now?
I'm gonna have to add rebirth to that.
I am so sorry that was. That was awesome.
That works, man. I'm gonna have some fun with
that shit. What was that?
Around 50? I'm looking at probably like 56
and 56. Probably 50 milliseconds.
We can. Yeah, we're gonna, we're gonna
have fun with that. It's been happening all day.
I don't know. I was sitting at work, you know,
doing my testing and all of a sudden like, oh, that's a burp.
The fuck was that face? I had a really good idea for a
later topic. Oh.
You'll tell us later. Yes, I will.
You guys will have to find out when we do it.
Your face look like you just saw Jesus, you know, and at the same
time you wanted to eat him shit. Holy shit.
Maybe we'll see. My body, child.
No, I think I think you guys will like the topic.
OK, OK, but I'll. We gotta write that down.
Yes. Write that down.
Write that down. Yes, we're gonna have to write
it down after this episode. Yeah, no, no, going back to what
I was saying. Yeah, I've been, I've just been
burping all day. Don't know where the fuck that's
been coming from. Why are you talking so fast?
Yeah, I don't know why. I've been working on it 'cause I
feel. 'Cause I.
Feel like if I stop talking when I'm burp again and I don't want
to do that. I don't know.
It's a Micro Machines guy. Macro machine.
Macro machine. I'll fuck.
You. God damn you with this bullshit.
It's. All trademarked, by the way.
Why the fuck did you have time to trademark that?
I don't sleep. That's a problem.
OK, but seriously though, I wish I was unable to.
Like in the sense that I didn't have to sleep.
Didn't have to sleep or eat. I would love that.
I would still like to. I would still like to like
taste. Yeah, my.
Delicious. Things My cousin dated a guy who
was like that he said, Oh yeah, my boyfriend actually had a
condition where he can't really sleep, he can't achieve from
sleep and so he would just kind of lay there in the middle of
the night just. Oh yeah.
Does he have that like? I don't remember the name of.
It I'm just like saying I I wish I didn't require sleep, there'd
be so much more time. Yeah, to do shit, yeah.
And I'd have to fucking go unconscious for 8 hours, right?
Yeah, that, that sounds like that guy's got one of those.
I it's a, it's a sleeping problem.
Yeah, Yeah, that. Insomnia.
Like a greater level of insomnia?
No. It's it's not, it's not insomnia
it. Is.
It is. He can't, he couldn't, he can't
achieve REM sleep, which is like the real Yeah, you're actually
unconsciously. Right.
Yeah, where? Your subconscious rises up.
So insomnia is more like a temporary condition where, oh, I
just can't sleep and my body is gonna give out eventually.
No, he. Literally cannot.
Physically cannot achieve it. That's like.
So he he does not have the capacity to sleep.
Was he still tired? No.
So the problem if if it is this, there is a condition like that
that is fatal. Yeah, because.
Eventually you're fucked. I mean you.
You have to sleep. Right.
That's why I didn't wish I required it.
Yeah, but I know it's like, there's also like how you
process things and we don't know why.
How? Your brain heals itself too.
It gave it gives your body and and we don't mind time.
We don't know. Exactly why?
Like, exactly why we need it. But there are like there are
things that we have found. Yeah, I know exactly why.
I mean in it it's because eyes get too tired and body get too
heavy and pillow get too comfy. Heavy is he who requires this.
Yes, Heavy is the man who approaches the hunk Snoo.
The fuck? But yeah, no, no, interesting
fact, he literally could not achieve Restful sleep.
That is so like, yeah, you always make a wonder why.
So I'm curious, have you ever asked or found out?
What about like sleeping agents? Like I can't think of any of the
top of my head. Kind of like melatonin and stuff
like that. No, I'm talking like the the
more effective means like the stuff that doctors would use
that would just conk you the fuck out like.
You mean like morphine? Or you talk about anesthesia.
Anesthesia, yeah, would. Anesthesia work on.
Him. I mean, yeah, I mean, if you're
in like a medically induced cola, there's nothing you can
really fucking. Do OK, good, because if that
didn't work. There's a problem, yeah.
By natural means, this guy could not fall asleep.
OK, OK, Yeah, yeah. Literally just he could not get
his body just shift from I'm in a conscious state to I'm in an
unconscious state. That is weird.
Like why does that? Like what is his mind doing?
Yeah, really. Why isn't?
That, you know, it's interesting.
I don't think it's something in the mind, I think it's something
in the biology, something in the genetics.
You just wonder like why that kind of shit happens.
Yeah, and, and honestly, I thought it was the weirdest
thing. I was like, oh wow.
Human mind and body is odd. Yeah.
Yeah, it's also disgusting too. Yeah, yeah.
No, no, I today, yes. Interesting fact.
Have you ever shit yourself? Geez, actually, right now.
