You stole my joke and said it louder.
Dude, I said it. All right, you know what the podcast is at this point. Apparently right before recording some fuck shit was afoot. Yeah, and I, I fucking made Mark keel over for a second. I thought this man was going to fucking fall over like that one time. Brandon, please. Brandon, please. I can't see him. I bought everything. Oh, good times. I can't see. I can't see. Brandon. We got to get out of here. They found the discord. Shit.
I just want to start off and say I can't believe it's almost been a year. Just one week. I think next year, just one week away. Oh my God, Can you guys believe? Yeah. I think it's more than that, but. I mean a time of recording Brandon, but at time of release? Well, time of release, yes, yeah. But yeah, that, that that is the 15th yeah of May, Yeah, at the time. Whoa, way to date the episode God, man. You can date the episode. Now they're going to know we do these in bitches. Fuck. Fuck. They know we're on the immersion brand.
Yeah, dude, the fuck's wrong with you? Why would you tell them that? Now they're going to realize that we'd get together every two weeks on a Friday at 6:00 PM. And we don't get out. We mean we take fucking 4 hours to do 2 two hours worth of content. Yeah, because we all fuck around now. That's all we do, Brandon. God, you're going to break the simulation or something. They're going to call us posers now, man. They're really going to find the discord now. I hope your life spirals now. It already is, have you say?
That no. Please show me more. Please inform me, enlighten me. I'm pretty sure I just had a fucking stroke. Oh, another one, do I? Go out that window. Oh, defenestration, I see. And this is supposed to be my episode. Yeah, well, fuck you. I guess man, just up the ass. At least he's blunt about it. Yeah. Whoa, man. I'm blunt about it. There you go. There. You go. But yeah, no, it's. All over the fucking wall. It's almost. So this chair is not squeaked this entire time until just now. That's actually surprising.
There's always one per episode, always there's been. You have to. You have to go back and retroactively. You have to edit it into the last episode. This is a little Easter egg.
One day you will not have that chair any longer. Seriously, that chair is. I've said it before, but fucking trooper. That chair is a fucking trooper. I'm just waiting while we're recording and I just go back and all of a sudden it just snaps and I hit the floor. And if you want my perspective, that chair has been here ever since I've known him. That chair is at least 20 years old. God damn, it's in at. Least 20 years old, it's in. Good condition for 20 years, dude. Yeah, it's. Still comfortable?
Yeah, that's how I you know. Hey, All right, This is now the plug for Chair. There it is, picking up for last episode. Careful, that last one was in the chair. What? Do we have today, Brandon? What do we have today? What is? Yeah. Yeah, Tell us, what are we going to eat? What are we going to eat? What? Kind of what kind of dish up our. Reason, Brandon. Appetizers. Brandon Advil. Dessert. Ibuprofen.
Tylenol. Tylenol PM What? The fuck was that left? He's fucking Crust in the clown.
Hey, the rote, did you have the OK? What the what are you? What are you motherfuckers been doing? Wallowing in pain, playing more games, complaining about prices of gas.
Yeah, that's been the thing, huh? Yeah, well, hey man, just fart in our gas tanks. They're. Complaining about the housing market, It's. Hard. You want us to be Debbie Downers now? Yeah, we can be, Debbie. I'm already Debbie Downer. We we can be Debbie Downers. You guys haven't wanted to play for for a Wish with me in too long. Oh God, it has been a while so. I'm now I'm really down. Yeah, we need to get on that too. Yeah. I can make some jokes right now but can't do it. Why can't you?
That's why. That's why he's been waiting for the right moment. Oh, I can't get it. Yeah, yeah. What are you open playing? Definitely far far West. Son of a fucking bitch You non truck me thanks you. Definitely far far West. Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you. It's saying hi. Hello, when you said that I was thinking like a spray bottle like.
I hope when you go back and edit that, hello, it's got an echo
and I broke him on camera. This is my podcast now. Welcome. Come on, let's do it together 321. Welcome to the plug in from Blur 4. Why is it always my episodes that are derailed like a fucking train? This is funny. Hey man, my my last episode we talked about about the topic for the story of the time. Yes, but at least you got the fucking intro in Hey We. Got the intro in there. Hey man, this is for readings. The first fucking thing you say. Look, I like to think of this as like the Clone Wars TV show.
So you have your yellow title episodes, the blue title episodes, and then there's the red title episodes. You get the blue, Yeah. I've also been playing Opus Magnum. Changed top thank. You.
Mark here as well. Yeah, I I actually surpassed you by 1 mission so far. I had a feeling, yeah. So now you got to take it back. I I haven't like in terms of completion or. In terms of completion. Yeah, I just haven't been on in a while. I I've been. Playing far, far West. Yeah. Yeah, Understandably. All right. They're both really good games, though. Yeah, yeah. It just gets difficult. Yeah, it. Has to be I I'm stuck on universal solvent right now. I almost have a solution. It is nowhere near optimized for.
Wait, is that the one you have to like? Pretty much get like one of every, Yeah. So you need, you need one of each of the elements, you need 1 salt paired to each element as you need a fucking atom of 10 in the middle and it's got to be connected in a straight line, but it's it that's the only part that connects. It's like, what the fuck? There's so much going on. You know I'm stuck on the one with the fucking Van der Wheeler, whatever it's called. The. Previous one where you have to have, I think an Earth or something like that.
No, not an Earth. It's the it's the downward black arrow. Oh. Oh God, what was that one You. Don't you have to destroy? The the it's like the Mons or something. Yeah. And then you had, you have to eliminate the the other one. Otherwise it backs up everything. This game is complicated. Yeah, Patrick explained it to me. Apparently he's played it. Really. No. I could see my brother playing that. Yeah, yeah. It's not yeah, he's like, it ain't, it ain't easy. Dude, it it. It it's literal mechanical engineering is a game.
Yeah, and I've I've been somehow able to keep up with this guy for now. Asterisk TMR. It's just see. It's a better see who's autism comes back first. It's. Going to be yours. It's going to be. I'm stuck on our far, far West, dude. I know. Although I think any back in the Jedi fall or or not Jedi fall in order I still have to redownload that but Jedi survivor. I need to get back into that and finish it you. Can yeah, You're going to beat the You're going to beat the simulation. What's such a bad word for Cal?
Cocaine or whatever his name is 0. Fuck man, dude, no, fuck that after you explaining that man. It's in. It's in one of our episodes. Yeah, yeah, just just a brief recap. If you remember the the fucking board game that they play on the Falcon, they made that into a mini game in Survivor and it's like you. So you select your pieces and you go up against the enemy pieces, but it's randomized every time of what everything fucking does. So a lot of it just boils down to you. You can strategize, but you can get fucked overdue to bad luck.
That's it. Yes, that's the yeah. Yeah, it was. I think that was in the games make you rage. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That that was the games of me. One for Cal Castos or whatever his name is. Yeah, it is. OK. Yeah, another loss for Cal Castos. And what did he have pissed me off? Is that, you know, I've already here, raging, simmering. Just be like, I'm pissed off of this, but my headset was broken so Jack was able to hear this because it was just Jack and I in the chat at the time and he just pipes and he's like, yeah, that's another loss for Cal Kiss.
He's like how the fuck? You hearing this? Yeah, that sounds like Jack. I was. Like, what the fuck? Yeah. He's like, Oh yeah, your your bike's picking him up. I'm like, oh God, now my headset's fucking broken too. Oh God, fuck you for bringing that up. OK but update Shelby's like Oh my God Widowmaker fucking snipe bitches. Her and me seem pretty stink. Stink. OK, I don't know. I don't know what the fuck that means, but all right. Lingo. Yeah, I'm too old for this shit. Might have been might have been like a typo, I don't know.
I mean, yeah, that could have been. Yeah, instead of stink, it stink. Stunk, stunk. I mean, it was right there. Stinking stonks. Stinking stonks. Stonks they know. And I also saw Juno that looked like your Raqqa. It was so cute. From my Hero. Oh, is that the is that the gravity? Is that the one girl with like the the fucking white arm bands or some shit? And she's got like pink like orbs on her wrists or whatever. Yeah, she can. Control gravity, Yeah.
All I know from that show is the fucking I'm a failure then people being like this is also how the Japanese people view America's be the American the Japanese people think you are. Dude, it's just all my. Tiny rant. He just died. Tiny rant. The first two seasons they have their peak moments. Fuck, in in terms of Deku fucking suck, yeah, it isn't until the end of the second season, out of age, mind you, he gets control of his abilities. He stops breaking his fingers in his arms. I I. Tried with that show the one time because our roommate's boyfriend wanted us to get into it because he's really big into anime.
I'm like OK, I'm I'm going to try. At least say that I tried. I can't get over the Whiting. Deku just whines so much. Again, two seasons. Yeah, almost 2. Seasons that that would be a turn off for. Me. Oh my God, I couldn't do it. It's everything. He just whines about himself. I want to be like Oh my, Oh my, Oh my, Oh my, Oh my, Oh my. I'm like please stop. No. So what you're saying is watch not those seasons? Yeah, the entire time. Fucking doctor lady, which works at the she's a, she's a school nurse, Yeah.
And she has the ability to heal people. Who would have guessed? But it takes like, I think a part of the life force or like, or like it speeds up their healing. But I don't, I don't know exactly how it works, but like, she's like Deku, if you keep doing that, you're not going to use your arms anymore. You're just not going to be able to. Jesus. Yeah. So yeah, it's, it's annoying, Yeah. Anyway. This. Is on a side tune dude. Do we have any more information coming out from Asheville? I was just thinking that, man.
I did look this up recently. Brandon, did you do your stuff? A lot, yeah, Yeah. Go ahead. Yeah. Yeah, I was just. You read my fucking mind. I. Was like yeah, on the topic of anime, when's this coming? I. Did watch it recently. Dude. Premiere in 2027. We don't know when though. It's in 2027. OK, that's the news. Well, at least we kind of have something. It's like. Half a year to a year and a half. Yeah, it's too long, man. How about more the party? Cream puff. Party cream puff. And I'm not an anime person, but I. Like yeah, I know I miss or watch parties those are.
Fun. I mean, we can always just watch it again, true. Yeah. It was entertaining as fuck. It's still like 7 Times Now the first two seasons. It just it doesn't get old. It's absurd as yeah. Now, so I I haven't actually touched this in a week or two, but Capcom Shadow dropped that one mini game for RE-9. Oh, really? Yeah, I'm fucking weird, man. I, I was like, literally that night I was playing RE-9 and I stopped and I'm like, oh, there's an update for the game. What the fuck is this? You know, I'm like, why?
You know, like I was probably just a bunch of bug fixes or some shit. So I go on like online, I look it up and sure enough, yeah, it was the it's called Leon Must Die Forever, literally. Now it it makes it sounds weird. Is. This, like orcs, must die. It it it's more a keen to one of the DLCS from RE-7 that was Ethan Must die apparently it it's. No. Yes, well, looks like you got to die, but.
You know the rules. Please. No, look at what you've done to my boy. He's fine. No, my boy. Oh, the real. Oh, the real.
So basically what this mode is in RE-9 is it's basically a roguelike. OK. Quite literally you, you play all like you go through the sections of the game like Leon sections, and there's like these doors that can take you to like if you don't want to go in order, you can actually go from the first location, which is like the streets and shit to fucking Raccoon City. That's probably a really bad idea because you need upgrades and shit. So when you get enough kills, like there's this little device that gets a bunch of like it just levels up and then you use that to get just random perks.
And there's five different levels of difficulty for this
where I think, I think 5 is like, Oh my fucking God, this is bad. Like it's hard. Like it's really fucking hard 'cause the the my first run, 'cause I didn't know what the fuck I was doing. I'm just running around and shit, killing zombies. And as you go through, there are certain zombies that are different colors that it's like blue and red. 1 is the blue guy you have to like Perry in order to actually do a lot of damage and the red 1 I don't think really has anything too special. You just want to kill it and they'll either I think they drop like a gun.
See, the guns are randomized that you get and you can find them throughout like the world and all that. And you're also timed on this Anyway, it's, it's interesting because I like I said, my first run, I'm like, oh, fuck this. I, I see raccoon City streets. I'm going to go there. I, I, I told God the zombies were just they, they weren't taking damage, but they were fucking me up. And then I'm like, oh, hey, look, I could go fight the Super tyrant. Let's go do that. You yeah, how to work, how to go.
That ripped in half. Like literally ripped in fucking half. That's fucking terrible, dude. You're. Like, oh, OK, yeah, that's that's pretty scary when even the fucking I, I think I had the Requiem hand cannon, you know? So I'm like, Oh yeah, I'm ready. Nope, no, you ate. It was like a fucking super soaker. Like it did fucking nothing. Here comes the fucking tiring,
you know, the fucking the commentary I was doing when, when I finally died, you know, I'm like, oh, this isn't good. Oh shit. Oh, he ripped them in half. Fuck. Oh, it's full. I have completed one rank 1, so now I can go to rank 2. And and there are these these different cosmetics you can get for Leon, which one of them makes him a literal wolf. He has a tail. He's got the ears. Yeah, it's fucking weird. But it has different, it has like different mechanics for him. So you might have a different gun or a locked perk.
That you can't get rid of that can help you, so I think that's you can unlock more of those cosmetics with like the points that you get when you complete challenges for the game is one of them is literally Leon's fucking Porsche like quite literally, if you have seen online, Leon's fucking Porsche has a helmet and it the cars on his head. Yes, that is real, Andy. I think there's also police. Police sirens, police lights that you can have them wear. Yeah, I'm making my boy look like an idiot. Like what the fuck?
All for the fun fact. All for the fun. Fact. I think the toddler with a propeller head and the fucking giant lollipop. Yeah, that's what fucking literally what's going on here. I love that. It's it's it's fun. I honestly I think you'd probably get a lot of enjoyment out of it because of the roguelike elements. I mean I did used to play a lot of the the top down zombies from Black Ops one three I think. Yeah. 4. I think it was no. You would just have to. You've got me questioning everything now because now I don't remember.
I thought it was 1. It isn't one, but there's another one. Yeah, 3. 4 Black Ops. Yeah, I know what you're talking about. Yeah. Yeah, it's like top down zombies and yeah, like. I guess the only thing is you'd have to get used to the mechanics of the game 'cause you have to learn how to parry and shit, because I'll tell you what, you've got a pair of shit. Don't worry, I'll parry the car Look. I I tried. I've seen the compilation, I've seen the compliment compilations of everything that Leon can fucking parry of the game.
It's amazing. I did and what we'll get on the topic after this. I didn't know this and Mark told me that when you're fighting the final boss, he pulls out a rocket launcher and shoots it at you. I didn't know you could parry the rocket and I did that while I was playing that mode. I'm like get this out on my fucking face. You know like what man? Or a farming but like this is dude. OK, one more thing. There's a there's a game coming out that I'm kind of interested in, or maybe it has already come out, but it's basically about like taking out like a mechanical bosses like like excavators and that like it shows an excavator.
I'm not sure what else is in here, but you parry the fucking excavator. The wheel like game about gaming, about parrying just goes to absurd shit. Yeah, sorry. Like I, I, I couldn't even believe that like playing a lot of RE-9 and then for the hell, I went back to RE-4, you know, and I mean, RE4 definitely has it. I don't want to see it feels better than 9 to Perry, but it's also pretty small window to Perry because I was playing as Wesker. Mr. Whiskers. Mr. Whiskers and the way, the way he perries, he perries with his hand.
He has no knife, OK. And I paired the chainsaw person like, 'cause they're I, the, the, the chainsaw women are very, are very fast. So you have to be aware of where they're at. And I remember it was right behind me and I'm like, fuck you.
Yeah. But yeah. So today's topic, we're talking about good old Flash game. You OK with her? He's popping his bills. And not all PM we were talking about that. God damn, he's got us a prop now.
So we're going to talk about Flash games today and not about Tylenol PM. Tylenol PM OK, put down my artistic bills. Rattle, rattle. It's like Markiplier with the keys. Jingle, Jingle, Jingle, Jingle. So who wants to go first? I'll go first because fuck you. Well fuck you, I'm going to go first now. OK. I'm here too you. Like that bitch? But no, you you were like, Oh yeah, yeah, we're going to do, we're going to do Flash games. So I mean, I still play Flash games, dinosaur, but I went on to congregate though, see if I can find any games that I used to love to play.
I really couldn't cuz there's so many on congregate. So I went to my old trustworthy armor games and they have a lot less, way less than congregate. Yeah, yeah. And that's the first one I found was armor games. So I, I loved, I, I remember the, the armor games intro, the swords clashing and then flying out of the shield with thearmorgames.com. Anyway, yeah. And so I was like browsing through there. I'm just like looking at, I'm like, Oh my God, all these flash games that I used to play. Holy shit.
So I started clicking on one 'cause I used to play this all the time and it was, I think, Swords, Sword and souls. I think I've heard of it, or I've I've seen sword and sandals. Yeah, they're probably sword and sandals. Yeah, but sword and soul is you have this training dummy, this animated training dummy that's like talking to you and whatnot. It's like trying to prepare you for the arena. Like there's different levels in the arena. It's pretty simple. It's just it's number value versus number value, how much you're taking, how much you're giving, all that kind of shit.
Yeah. And you can, you can train your different stats. There's like 5 different stats. And you actually have to do arrow key inputs for most of them. So like for damage the the training dummy throws apples, you either have to hit high, beat em high, middle or low and then behind you is for a star and that can give you some extra experience, whatever. But then also there's like a couple that you just have to use your mouse. There's a shield one which you have to like block 360 around you. You just have to like move your mouse around to block the apples.
If if any apples hit you, the combo resets. And then there's also the archery, which, I'm sorry, get it out. I'm sorry for making you lose your train of thought that just happened. I don't. Know I was going to go through it but then Brandon was being silent looking at you like that so I'm like I can't I can't no I'm. Going to hear this later and fucking forget. Go on, go on before he loses. It's like with the archery, you have to actually shoot at targets. And if you get the bull's eye, which is not too hard, you get like a extra experience, like a perfect and like that's just a train.
And as you level up, you get extra points you could put into your own stats as well as like skills and other shit like that. And then you just go to the arena. You can also upgrade your weapon, your shield, ranged
armor and something else like your Oh yeah, melee weapon and you just go into the arena. It's just a numbers game, honestly. But you get you get money and then you can spend the money on different things to get more passive income or more upgrades or whatever, or like more experience even. Yeah, like, it's just it was a nice little rabbit hole to go down. I'll probably go down it a couple more times like that game and yeah, Flash games are again, you got me down that rabbit hole. They just talk.
I was, I was up way later than I should have been because of that comment. Brandon. I'm like, oh, I'm going to go look at things and then just play it. I mean, I'll play a couple. Like I said. I could have been at a reasonable hour. I'm a I'm a responsible adult. Yeah, I'm like, all right, guys, I'm going to go to bed and then I stay up. Apparently I joined the voice call again, and I don't remember that at all. Yep, I literally don't. Like go goong bitch, I. Was like, wow, he's peachy. He's peachy you.
Know like no, I can't blame him. I got him down that rabbit hole. It's just deserved. God. What about you 2? Have you guys mind you this is a safe space, We don't judge. I'm I'm already judging. Have you guys played like port a potty flight simulator or something? Oh, are you talking about downhill? No, God, what is it called? What potty racers? I think it is where you pretty much you start off the game with a port, a potty, and you're trying to get to fly as far as possible. I just watch a video about this too.
So what? 100% in all four of them. Oh my fucking God, I remember. I remember TV commercials. Yeah, I think for the first or second one, I remember TV. Commercials for the commercials? Yeah, there's TV commercials for a Flash game. Oh my. Or a mobile game. Oh my fucking God, yes, I've been holding on to that for a while. I guess I need to play. This one I I am glad you know it. Christ. That's funny so. Basically, you start off the game with just a porta potty in a hill. Yeah, you're like, OK, so roll the porta potty down the hill, you launch it and you're like, OK, got to get it as far as I can.
And you know, it's it's a fucking porta potty on the hill. It's not going to go very far. Well, yeah, yeah. So as as you keep doing this, you start upgrading the porta potty like OK, so I gave it some wheels so we can actually go down the hill a little bit better and got some like makeshift wings and eventually gets to the point where you got like a fucking jumbo jet going down the hill. It's powered by piss and shit is fuel. You can go like. Could you fucking imagine in real life? You're just walking down the fucking St. and all of a sudden you see a fucking flying porta potty, Yeah, with a fucking jet engine on the back.
No, it turns. It turns from a porta potty into a little fucking jumbo. Oh, it does actually turn into a jumbo jet. OK. Yeah. Well, still think about that. Not in the first one at least. I don't know. I don't. Remember which one I played is the thing. Well, you got three others, 2-3 or four.
That's funny. OK, I might need to play this you. Need to play it, it's fun. It kind of sounds like learn to fly. Yeah, yeah. It it's, it's got the basic premise of it, but it's it's a porta potty. Learn to fly is a great one. You're a Penguin who just wants to make it into space. Yeah, that was a good one. I played that one. So you start off with like a cardboard box with like a like a booster basically. And then you can the higher you get, the more money you get like the Max height. And then you can also upgrade the parts, not only buy parts, but you can also upgrade the parts for like the boost.
The I think even augment them a little bit maybe. I think maybe that was 2 I. Think so, but it's something you can modify to change. It you're just a Penguin trying to fly, that's all. You're trying to get up higher and higher and higher each time.
Yeah, OK. What about you, Brandon? I'm sure you're itching to itching to talk in your own episode. Yeah. Thank you. Dick. Still mad at you about that burp? What the? What about the?
You're cruising for a bruising motherfucker.
We're so for me when I played a lot was was it black zer black zorgs black source God is such a weird fucking. This is a weird name to pronounce. It's recognizable when you read it, but when you just pronounce it, it's weird. Block source. Yeah. Basically just a puzzle game. Try to get the black in the hole Giggity. It's a rectangular prism that you get into a square hole. Yes. And the every, you know, the puzzle gets harder and harder as it goes.
Different mechanics might, you know, might have to make some platforms or hit some switches and shit, you know, that kind of crap. It's it's there isn't really much to talk about it because it's so simplistic, but it's one graphically is held up really well for a Flash game.
And it's just, it was something I played a lot. Yeah, I remember. God, I remember getting so ticked off at it. Like why can't I get this fuck blocked to line up correctly? Dude, I remember there was one time in fucking computer lab where like we were just playing cool math games, whatever. And there was one point, like I physically wrote down the the level code because there's a code for every level. Yeah. And then going home and like booting it up, I think I, like did it twice because I had to like, I got through a few levels, couldn't beat it, you know, Next day I wrote down, like wrote down the code for the next day.
And the next day I opened it up, put in that code, got to the level, and then I finally beat it. I'm like, yes, I finally be boxers. Look at me. I'm so cool. I'm the coolest kid in town, dude. I am the coolest one amongst you. I am a God bow when I enter. I am a God amongst. Men bow when I enter the building. All before me tremble in despair. Jesus Christ, Yeah, it's good old, good old fun game.
What about you guys? Another. One mark. Oh boy, do I have more. Age of War was a good one. Yeah, I forgot about that one, actually, Yeah. You played that one, Brandon. Age of War. Oh, that was a great one. Oh my God, go back through, go back to them and just play it. It's great. Basically it's one of those games where you have your base, your opponent has your base, and you just send units over, they beat each other up and they start just attacking your enemy's base. What's great about this one is that it actually has Tech Levels and as you keep upgrading your units, it starts progressing the the eras essentially.
So you start off with Cavemen and then eventually get to ancient like like classical units. Then you get into medieval, industrial, industrial, modern, postmodern, futuristic, and then it's like singularity tech level. Well this remembers aliens, but yeah it gets pretty far. And you can also like add turrets as well. Like I think you as at the start for your first turd as I get.
Yeah, yeah. You get like a cannonball or something. Yeah, just the caveman versus fucking high intelligent fucking life. Like, yeah. Fuck yeah. But for some reason, the caveman wins. Yeah, that'd be. Fuck. Yeah. But quite literally, that's the whole point of the game. The music is great. It doesn't change, but it's the same song over and over and it's just it's iconic to people that have actually played it. Once you hear it again, you won't unhear it is the thing with it. I have what I don't remember it.
I'll have to pull it up for you after the episode, but you'll recognize it. Anyway, I'm going to I'm going to do a niche pull here. OK, what you got? Free Fred. Free Fred. Zoom type. Thank you. So basically, I think you're a you're just a dude. And then you're friends with a dolphin named Fred for some fucking reason. And somebody stole him. And so now you take out your boat equipped with a fucking weapon and whatnot, and you have to, well, free Fred. Yeah. And pretty much as you go on with this game, it's like, oh, yeah, there's like a there's like little boats or like sea mines or stuff that you have to shoot.
You have like a turret on your gun too. And like, you upgrade your ship as you go. Yeah. But then you have like this at one point you get far enough, once you upgrade enough, you get this giant freighter and like it's it's launching stuff that you have to like just destroy it. And once you do, you get another boat and you have to restart upgrading it. But it's stronger. And that happens like a couple times. And it's it's to the point where there's like helicopters coming to shoot you. They get advanced helicopters and there's like missiles coming at you.
And it's a whole fucking ordeal just to get a dolphin off of this defense for a fucking dolphin. It's so fucking stupid. It's like maybe an hour of play time. But it's it's it's fun. It's it's never, it's a flash game. It's not really that long. Yeah, it's probably one of the most memorable games I've played for some stupid fucking reason. So I think for me, there's one of the like when you go to cartoonnetwork.com and play their Flash games or whatever. Fuck they. Had thought about that. Yeah. They had an awesome selection of Flash.
So one I was actually playing yesterday while I was writing down some of this shit was the Ed and Nettie candy machine. I don't know if you remember that. I love that one dude. That one was awesome. Yeah, essentially you're trying to get the Jawbreaker into like this little like bucket or whatever, but you have to use like the kind of like the the original Bioshock. You use those like pieces to make kind of a like a little thing for the Jawbreaker to go in. So you can actually get it to get to the the bucket cuz it could literally be on the other side of the screen.
If, if, if have you played it, Ethan? No, no. A good parallel is there's a game similar to it that we played through the school where you have to try to get like a tennis ball into a bucket. I had a feeling. Yeah, Yeah. And you have all these random bits and bobs and stuff in order to just kind of get it there. If I remember correctly, there's like for the edit anyone? There's like different tubes and shit that does different things. Yeah, it's a different shaped tubes. There's like the straight ones to horizontal and then you have the kind of like.
Loop de loop. Loop de loop or cock eyed one or yeah, it's yeah, it's like that. It's just super freaking random and you. Yes. Go on. And you just had to build a complete path from where it spawns into where it needs to go. It's. Kind of stupid simple. Yeah, I mean. But it's fun. I'm not sure if there's probably was on the Cartoon Network one, but another edit and a game it was like food fight or something like that. I. Don't I remember that? I remember that. Yeah. You are throwing the fucking room and you're throwing food at each other.
Yeah, yeah. I think you get to pick a character too. Or like as you play, you unlock different more characters and yeah, yeah. Oh my fucking God, yeah. That was fun. Wasn't wasn't there wasn't there also a a vehicle fighting one for it and it and it? I think so, yeah. I don't, that's the only one I've played right now. It was a food fight one, I swear. It's like a racing Derby game or something. I swear I remember playing something like from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Yeah, so they they had, they had a couple that the word, the really big one was the you make your own imaginary friend.
And then you. Do a bunch of tours around the house and you can unlock more mini games. Like I remember there was one with the tall guy, the tall red 1 and you could like shoot laundry into the oh. Yeah, I remember. That.
OK, this just came to mind. Can I just, can I just say something? Yeah, I feel like in this day and age, if I don't know how to describe it, how to exactly describe this. But thinking about it, doesn't Among Us feel like a Flash game? It's got the aesthetic. Kind of, yeah, it's got. The aesthetic it it, it looks like it would be if it wasn't a stand alone right? Yes, it would be, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I feel like if it was made back then it would be different, but you could probably see some similarity.
Like the UI completely looks like a flash game, yeah. Yeah. It makes you it makes you wonder if that was intentional. Yeah, really. You know, I mean, I personally never played it. I I just don't think I'd have a good time with. It I have, I don't like social deduction games. I, I, I I. Yeah, I don't. Feel bad for lying. Plus I don't know how to lie. Those kind of games, I get that I. Blame my wife, I learned how to lie through her.
Love you baby. Yeah, she is good at lying, but I've caught her. Yeah. You know, you don't know what you're taught. I do. I know when I catch her in a lie. Oh, same thing with Becca. I know when I catch you in a lie, you start and you start getting all fucking nice lovey dovey. You know, I'm like, you did some love you, Becca.
What about you guys? The other ones. I'm I'm stuck on Cartoon Network now. Yeah, I'm trying. To think of other ones, I mean, I I did talk about chasing shadows because that originally was a flash game later put on Steam, but.
There's just the fucking cheer. There's. Just I mean, did you guys ever play Sunny? There's Sunny Sunny 2 and Sunny 3. There's a good trilogy or something. I remember like, because there was a whole my old Greatest Games and Armor games and like that, that was one of them was the Sunny Trilogy. Yeah, I tried playing it. I really couldn't get into it. Although I do remember back in fucking high school or whatever, it was like the game of the year on armor games and there was like a whole tournament bracket for and everything.
And I was like, it was between Sword and Souls, which I talked about and gem craft and I was like, yeah, Jim Craft, let's do it, Let's do it. Like I voted on everything. Like I was all for it. And I was like swords and Souls. I'm like that's game stupid.
Stupid I. Mean I've always been a tower defense boy. Yeah, I can talk about the Balloon Star Defense 5. I. Started out as a tower whenever game. I was going to say we, we even said that. Yeah. Balloons. That was, yeah. Balloons is my fucking jam, especially 6 so good, but you know 5 like I just remember like the first time booting it up and like I've seen four played at the time I didn't know it was 4, but I've seen four played. I'm like, you know what, let's play 5 and like this is kind of when they revolution.
I think they did the two path. Maybe that was three. I don't exactly remember, but like this is when at least from like not my knowledge, feel free to say in the comments, but this is like when they finally had cross patting in the game and it was it was awesome. Just like just seeing all these balloons and it was just, it's weird going back to what I will say. Yeah. Yeah, 'cause the whole, the whole wave system is different from 5:00 to 6:00 and it's just, there's so many memories tied to 5 though.
Yeah, I just keep coming back going, man, this game is fucking difficult even on easy, dude, that's awesome. But I, I still, I still remember playing on, I think it was congregate at that point, and the guy was playing with somebody else on my Toshiba laptop. Yes, that's how old it was. Oh my God. Toshiba laptop. Yes, Sir, that's what I was doing. And we got to an absurd wave. It was like 2200 something. I didn't remember. We were we were there for a long time, mind you, hard stop set. I think 85.
Yeah. So we were there for a while and he put down pineapples. Just random something like just a fucking do something or whatever. We filled the entire map. He couldn't place down another monkey, so he just started to play some pineapples. My screen went black.
Oh no. So I couldn't see the game. Yeah, I could use text chat. I could see the text. I couldn't see the game. And I'm like, dude, stop, stop, stop. We're going to like, I can't see. My screen is black. He's like, all right, I'll stop the pineapples. He stops it comes back, starts doing it again, goes black. I crash. I think that's like the last time I played it on Flash. I probably played it other time, but like, that's like one of the last times that I played on Flash. It was just so good, man.
I mean, I have the whole because you need Flash in order to play it, but I have the whole like balloon star defense or just balloons. Archive, Ninja, Kiwi Archive. That's what it is. Yeah. Yeah. So you have like SAS zombies, you have balloons? All of them, yes, except for I think 6 I. Remember Ninja Kiwi being extremely prolific with their flash games? Oh yeah, I mean like, it's weird to think that Ninja Kiwi being known for balloons also does SAS zombies, Yeah. Yeah. It's like, woah, 'cause I remember playing 3 on my phone, I remember playing with that.
And he's like, yeah, my buddy, like one of my bowling buddies at the time and he's like, yeah, dude, I have that. We can play together. And so we did, yeah. It's just crazy. I don't know, Cutesy balloon popping game, blood, zombies, gore, death, guns. Oh. Man, what a shit. Dichotomy of man. Just there's so many Flash games out there. I really just miss flash games in general. Me too. Yeah. It it really felt, it really feels like looking back on it after Flash was just removed, a lot of the soul of the Internet was just sucked away.
Yeah, and like you can still get Flash downloaded. I'm sure Flash games are still made, but it's not how it was. No, like back probably 12 years ago, yeah, that's when I and in that was my heyday of it, yeah. Yes. 12 years ago, that's like, that was like the peak in fucking Flash games. That's when there was just games coming out left and right and you could just play them. You could just play them. You could just. Play them, and if you don't like it, yeah, Click to one or the other. Hundreds or thousands of Flash games out there.
Yeah, you had a lot to choose from. That's like I, I know there's AI think a Flash archive website that exists. It has, I think majority of Flash games archived. So they're safe. Yeah, yeah, 'cause these people were working on this when when Flash announced that they were getting, they were ceasing it. So that is a way to play them, you know, but I, I guess it just, it still sucks because you can't just go to the websites that. They were on. They used to exist. I mean, that's defunct. I mean, you can still go to congregate congregate's kind of changed.
And also armor games. I think armor games is still the same as it was. But yeah, it's just the fact that the games have been like fucking halted the dirt. Yeah yeah, because of it. One thing I will say is I'm kind of nostalgic for flash games just because of the like the one-dimensional audio, like it's all flat. It's all flat. It's like. It comes from a different time. It does, and it's just. A more simple time a. More simple time, when the Internet was much more of a freer resource. Yes. Instead of, unfortunately, the corporate hellscapes that we find today.
And now I hear I am scrounging for deals on Steam. Well. I'd be a peasant. Unfortunately, you have to be, you know. It's well, at least I don't ask my mom for $17.00 now. I know I'm a peasant. I'm a big ass peasant. I know, I know. For a game you played once. I'm a peasant.
Leans harder into it. If you can't beat it, you join it. It's deep. Yeah. Oh, man, this game is great. I'm going to go buy this. Oh wait, Bubby. Bubby, I'm always done to play it with you if you want. Always. My I know I'm. Constantly playing. I'm a bit stupid. See me open it like 10 times a day because I'm like, oh, I'm going to play this, fuck this and turn it off, OK? I want to play it. Again, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I have noticed that much. Oh, I got off it. Yeah, 'cause I played Nightmare. I'm like, this is the best way to level I die.
Fuck, just give it stupid, yeah? 5 minutes later, oh hey, he's back on it. No, he's off it again. Hold on, it's just the robot cowboy aesthetic. It's blend so well. It does it really. Drags you back in, yeah.
So I have one that we all can talk about. What you got? Happy wheels. Yeah. I've tried to play it, I have played it, but I've tried. Oh man, so much fun. Some of those levels were fucking bullshit, but they're fun and I think you can still play Happy Wheels. Oh yeah, you can. For sure. Yeah, for sure. I just don't know if there's anything new. In an. Oh yes, there, really. Spelling. It still has an amazingly active community. I thought there's A and like, they always follow the Youtubers too. They always follow.
It's like Grey still plays, at least did play it, Yeah. And there was a bunch of like, oh, Grey can't beat this or whatever, you know, just like PewDiePie can't beat this, Jacksepticeye, Markiplier, whatever. And then I think also specifically Dottie and Nogla, they have like their own combined channel. Yes, they played that as well. And there were still people being like, this is for them or like terrorizer, this is for Nogla. It's like whatever. Yeah, my God. Why? I didn't know they were still active.
That is so nice. That is so nice. I 'cause I I thought after they said like they were happy wheels was done or whatever, it's going away or some shit. No, like it's still here. It still has a very vibrant community that's amazing after so long. Keep going, keep going as long as you can. Yeah, God, that's awesome. Makes me want to play it now. To me it's just a nice slice of the oh God, when did that come out? Like mid 2000s or like early twenty 10s. It was, yeah. It was like 2000. You can do it, Evan.
Let's see. 2012. Search it up, Mr. Ethan, what we got. I might be wrong.
I forgot the name totaljerkface.com yes. Yes, total. Jerkface. That's right. God damn it. God. 2010 Just. 2010 OK, that makes sense. Yeah, that makes sense. Peak of flash right there. Yeah, that's when they're the just the 10s. Yeah, fucking in. General and then Happy Wheels just stole the crown. Yes, God damn. I remember somebody like playing that in computer lab and I'm like. How'd you get here? That game is so gory, if the teacher saw that they would shut that shit down. Man, I would always play as the was the father and his kid on the bicycle and I'd be like little Teddy get the fuck off and he's flying.
Oh my God. Wait, OK, this is this is not a flash game, but I just had a fucking memory because me and my buddies, this is at school, at high school, we had laptops, right? Yeah, yeah, I remember. And so we all opened up our laptops to play Garry's Mod prop hunt. There was like 4 of us. By the way, this was in wood shop class as well. This teacher's really fucking cool. How the fuck were? You guys playing Garry's Mod? I think it was. You were going to get through like the there was. Nothing so so let let me just preface this.
At the the for the first year we had the laptops, their security was honestly just dog shit. Oh. Yeah. Yeah, They really didn't have it much in wakes. It was like they were, they were just like, all right, no porn sites, none of that. Like, like nothing adult, basically. Yeah. Yeah. And that was it. Now there's a lot of safeguards. I was going to see you can't even like were you guys playing this through Steam? Yes, OK, because you can't install Steam on a a fucking computer like that now. Because I, I remember playing Terraria on, on a fucking Mac.
Whatever. Yeah, man, fuck. That's one of the few games that I could at the time, Yeah. Yeah. Well, I'll, I'll preference this reference this this we had we had another friend named Brandon Who was he? He was he he understands computers at a far higher degree than even I do with with with just being able to break software. I. Know who you're talking about? Yeah, yeah, Beans that that was his nickname. Oh yeah. Wait, was it shit? Brand Harbour? Yeah, yeah. But he was just able to just break the security software, install a couple lines of code for anybody that asked him to.
Hey can you please jailbreak my MacBook so that way I can install shit onto my MacBook that the school doesn't want? So I was able to we were able to install steam. I got I message re enabled back on it. It gave us administrative access to the computers again. Oh God. I. Remember when they I'm going to finish my story first. But yeah, they were. The teacher was walking around as we were playing and whatnot, and he's like, you guys can't use that because he was referencing the guns in the game because of school violence.
Well, yes, you guys got to use the crowbar because it was the least offensive weapon. I'm like, yeah, Gary Smaud with a crowbar. Are you serious? Yeah. Anyway, yeah, No, I remember there was a game like it was like a hexagon or it, it was like the hexagon game or whatever. Are you talking about the running game or something? It was, I think that was. Also running it it it it, it's like the running game. I know what you're talking about. Yeah, there was like a fucking hexagon and we're just going to use your ear keys to go around.
And it was old and I remember that being. But everywhere, everybody, everybody was. Playing. Everybody was playing it. And it, it, this wasn't something that wasn't like restricted to us. It was built into the the computers. Yeah, because it was in the fucking App Store. We were just downloading apps. They didn't have any security. They might have, but this is, you know, this is. This was something that was already pre loaded on the laptop. Oh OK, so they OK SCSC? Again, this is like this this we were like one of the first years to have the laptop so.
OK, so they really didn't have. No, we, we were the first year. True. Yes. No. That makes sense I. Think it was what, sophomore? It was sophomore year because I came back. Yeah. Yeah, and all of a sudden they're like, oh, hey, laptops. I was like holy shit. Man, you guys are lucky you guys had Macbooks. You know what? I had? Chromebook. Sorry. Dude or a shitty HP. They kicked. They kicked after the laptops came in. They kicked all those over to the middle schools and the elementary schools. Really.
Yeah. Oh yeah. Because because as we were going through middle school, they started becoming a lot more popular in the middle school. I really didn't see them in the middle school though. They were very rarely used, but I think whatever the high school had, they just shipped it out because they're like, well, we have the laptops now, we don't even need these at the high school. Interesting. OK, Yeah. Did you know that he works at Electronics Flip? Brandon Harbor, where Electronics Flip. Really. Yeah.
Wow. Yeah, I've seen him in there a couple times. I think he brings his cat in too. That's awesome, yeah. Yeah, when they're, they have like a whole bunch of like retro games and whatnot. Yeah, yeah, yeah. OK. Yeah, yeah, he works there. Yeah, no shout out to you, man. You, you're a fucking. Genius. It's fucking awesome. He's still chilled it this day too. Yeah, that's good. I'm happy he still is. Damn. You will like him. Yeah, I'll have to say yeah, kind of cool, OK. Yeah, just real quick, just to piggyback off of Ethan being like, Oh yeah, we played Terraria in the high school.
Just a shout out towards Stellaris again. That game is turning 10 years old. God. I played that on the Macbooks in the high school. It was able to handle. It not well. OK, that makes sense. I booted it up and that thing started like I was taking off in the fucking hub. Dude, I remember playing flash games. If we want to go back to Flash, I remember playing Flash games with you and the hub. Yeah, we had a great time, yeah. Are you making your fucking MacBook sound like a jet engine? Yeah, God. They're Flash.
They're Flash games. They're not. That much? Well, I mean it. It's hilarious. I. I abused that laptop. I played from the depths on it. Jesus Christ, what's next? Oxford not included. I didn't have money at the time. See what a game that actually ran really well on a MacBook was? BioShock Infinite. Really. Actually ran? Really. Surprisingly, yeah. And you really didn't have to like turn the graphics down that much. And it yeah, remember my buddy's MacBook? He got like a 2015 MacBook Pro. It it ran it good.
Which is really interesting is that comes from a yeah, from an era where it was like transitioning into into what we have today, but it was just optimized so well for what it was. Yeah, because those are just old Intel X and now you're in the M series, which those can handle games as well now. Yeah, like, I mean, fuck man, I was able to run RE4 on my fucking iPad. Yeah, RE4 remake. Oh shit. They had like a free a free demo or whatever and it ran well. That's awesome. And it didn't look like shit.
That's good. So it's like, man, those fucking M chips are fucking great. Yeah, it's that ARM processing. Because our ARM is great because you can scale it. Yeah, it's a mobile processor, sure, but that doesn't mean shit. Yeah, there's super computers that use ARM, I forget which. What country has the, like, huge fucking like, super computers? I don't know if it's us that runs ARM, but. Oh, I thought, I thought you were about to talk about Taiwan for a second where they meet the the chips. Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe does. No. Oh, OK, No, we are at an hour. Oh shit. Whoa. It was light out. Now it's dark. Whoa, whoa. Ookie. Ookie. Whoa.
First he burps, then he yells. What is next, he farts. If you want you do that. I swear to God, I swear to fuck. You will blow my fucking ears out man. Why is that wave form? Look really? Jesus Christ. Oh, I guess you want to wrap up. Yes, hey. Just finished up our nostalgia trip for flash games. Yes, flash games. Let us know what kind of flash games you played in the comments below. You can find us on Spotify, Apple Music, really anywhere you get your podcasts. I've been throwing it everywhere.
YouTube as well if that's you know your fancy.
Tell me you've been doing on YouTube and TikTok. Yeah, so TikTok we have, there should be like 2 videos up that just some tests that I was doing that are just kind of like shorts or whatnot, same name plug in for player 4.
I'll be sure to try to get that link for the TikTok in the description. And also just a reminder or I guess maybe not really a reminder, but we're getting the next episode of Lay Your Frontier together. You're just having some issues with getting the footage to me. And we figured this out now, so Ethan will catch up the speed and how me and Mark did that. Yeah, we had to change some things. It's a lot easier now. It's a lot. It's a lot easier. It's a lot more reliable too. I'm not waiting for like 4 hours.
Yeah, that's good. Yeah, it's. Great to finish up. So we're going to try to get that out as soon as possible.
But again, thank you for listening. We hope you enjoyed and we will see you in the next one.
Really special. One too really special one is 1 you. Better not miss out. You better not miss. It don't miss it. It's a one time event only, yeah. One time it'll be on the out there. Forever. It's a one time event only and then you can just rewatch.
