1:09 So I've been fucking with an AI chat bot for way too long and

1:12 it's kind of been like making me want to read actually, actually

1:15 read a book. Yeah, Yeah.

1:47 Most of them have some sort of like cybernetic implant or arm

1:54 or something. And I guess there's a guy on the

1:57 ship where his skin is just fine, but underneath he is, you

2:01 know, kind of changed. And the main character that you

2:05 know Daisy, she fucking hates it because she's she's the only one

2:09 that's quote UN quote normal. But not too long into the book,

2:17 and this will be spoilers. I'm not sure if you guys care.

2:20 This is sci-fi, by the way, in case you couldn't tell, because

2:23 you're on a space start shipping space and she they get they get

2:31 put the crowd asleep basically. And there's a captain that

2:34 always stays up and they're traveling to a destination.

2:38 Over the course of the destination, they get drip fed

2:40 tiny amounts of information until they wake up, while they

2:43 wake up prematurely because something bad happens.

2:45 And then they, you know, go to sleep and drip feed.

2:49 But Daisy's like, I'm gonna, I'm gonna.

2:52 Tweak it a little, I'm gonna. Give me more information while I

2:55 sleep. Unless she tweaks it too much,

2:57 it's way too much information way too fast.

2:59 She could have fried her brain. She didn't.

3:04 But now she has her sister's conscious inside her brain.

3:50 It's it's an interesting book series and I read the first book

3:53 probably two or three years ago back on me and Shelby went to

3:56 Myrtle Beach. OK so I I I started the second

3:59 book but I haven't fucking touched it since like the second

4:02 chapter. I should try to get back into

4:05 reading sometime too. I've got lots of books that I

4:07 need to get back into reading. I've got a Robinson Crusoe that

4:13 I need to get back into reading. I've got the Dune series that I

4:21 mean. I got beautiful books from

4:24 Barnes and Noble with that all have blue outsides of the pages.

4:29 Oh I love. Those, it is gorgeous.

4:33 And I, I I'm afraid of picking up the books because I, I

4:35 typically I've got large hands so I can break books really

4:39 freaking easily when I'm just trying to read them.

4:42 So I have to be extra careful. My thing is I have clammy hands

4:46 so I always sweat and it sucks. Yeah, that too.

4:50 But I'm not. I'm not sure if that's just me.

4:52 I just shake. Yeah, I've I've got, I've got a

4:57 philosophy book on Stoicism to read.

5:00 It's got works from Marcus Aurelius.

5:05 It's got works from Epictetus, I believe.

5:10 And then one other I I'd have to look back into it.

5:13 I, I've had it sitting in my drawer for a while and then I've

5:19 got American Gods. I want to get back into actually

5:23 finishing. I've got Atlas Shrugged.

5:28 I want to see what that's about. I want to finish reading 1984.

5:34 I've got some stuff on my repertoire that I want to get

5:36 down. Yeah, I will say this is not the

5:40 original series I was going to read.

5:42 I guess this author has a bunch of series and I think when I

5:45 looked it up it had like a timeline to it in terms of when

5:48 the books set place. I'm not sure if they overlap or

5:51 anything. Characters go from one to the

5:53 other, but the one that really pulled me in, not Clockwork

5:56 Camara, but that was that's just what the I think the book series

6:00 is called. And that was a pretty, that was

6:03 a pretty cool fucking name, not going to lie.

6:06 However, there's another one called the Dragon Tamer, and I

6:11 think it's about a guy in a space suit because that's all

6:13 you see on the front cover. And there's a portal on each of

6:17 the book covers, which I think has a different dragon on it,

6:21 but it's just like a spaceman. You don't see his face or

6:23 anything. And I believe his name is

6:25 Charlie on the on the covers. But yeah, it's I was really

6:32 going to start with that, but it has 12 books in the series.

6:36 Clockwork Camera has five. So I'm going well, down, down.

6:40 I'll start with A5. I do generally enjoy them.

6:45 Oh, I just don't know why I haven't read it.

6:49 Me myself, I've never really been a book reader.

6:52 Yeah, it's kind of hard for books to keep my attention.

10:11 some of our favorite boss fights.

10:14 Oh, interesting. So one of y'all go first you

10:23 What do we want? You know I'll just read them off

10:27 and you guys like the games and you guys can tell me which one

10:31 Remnant from the ashes abyss, the messenger fury, Luna nights,

10:38 calamity mod tunic and atomic rops.

10:41 Which one? Which?

10:42 One, I want to hear what you what you had to say about

10:43 calamity bars. OK, well I want to see what you

10:46 what you picked. It's the scourge, scourge of the

10:51 universe. Oh, the scourge of the universe.

10:53 Yeah, scourge of the. Something it's it's my favorite

10:58 boss in the hole and it's it's it's the I've said this in a

11:03 previous episode recently, but it's the first pretty much big

11:06 wall in Terraria. Once you hit this wall, at this

11:09 point you have to defeat bosses in order to really get a big

11:12 upgrade to your weapons or. Or whatever.

11:15 Like Calamity mod takes Terraria's vanilla system and it

11:20 ramps it up by 10. Yes, but it scales everything.

11:24 Up and it's it's honestly a pretty smooth transition until

11:27 you hit scourge. It is a wall.

11:30 Yeah. But it, it's, and Calamity is

11:34 sounds bad 'cause you know, calamity, yeah, but it's really

11:37 not. It's it's pretty simple and you

11:39 get to see a bunch of cool new weapons or changed weapons, how

11:43 they work operate. Or, and it it it adds a lot more

11:48 content into the game too. Yes, like you.

11:50 Because I, I, I know over the past couple of sessions we kind

11:54 of breezed through it, but, but Calamity Mod really gives you

11:59 hard stops where it's like, if you're not properly prepared on

12:03 everybody, you're not making a throne no matter what.

12:07 So that's the game telling to upgrade.

12:08 Yeah, you're going to upgrade or you're just going to be stuck

12:11 for a long time. OK, so it is so.

12:15 I kind of like that. Part of the problem that we've

12:17 been having with Terraria vanilla is like, like you saw

12:21 with with playing Terra, we've they haven't had a a group of

12:26 four in a while. We were actually kind of blown

12:28 away at how quickly we were all just.

12:30 Yeah, I was, I was like, all right, we're we might get

12:32 halfway, like half its health down and then, you know,

12:34 transform. Yeah.

12:35 No, we've never. We haven't done it one phase in

12:38 quite a while. And and then Gollum is a pretty

12:40 easy boss, but I'm still surprised we took him out first

12:43 try. Mark, you were a fucking guy.

12:46 Yeah, we're staying alive too Well, so quick.

12:49 As a Ranger too in in the worst you fucking environment for it

12:55 to be. I always trying to stay alive as

12:57 a Summoner cuz in that range me and Brandon are the damage.

13:00 Basically yes cuz I'm just focusing on staying alive.

13:03 I was really trying to stay alive and just be like using my

13:06 whip cuz my whip is actually my main source of damage if I'm

13:09 being honest as it does 200 someone damage can compare to my

13:13 75 that my dead dead dead spheres do.

13:16 Yeah, what made me laugh still to this day is when you found

13:20 the boss by accident, Mark. Because it wasn't.

13:23 I guess it wasn't in its regular room.

13:25 So so the golem boss. Actually in a really big room at

13:28 the very bottom. Yeah, pretty much like.

13:31 Go left or right and then into. Giant.

13:33 It's supposed to be a giant altar room.

13:36 Yes. I'm not sure why our spawn was

13:38 so freaking small. I'm not sure if they changed how

13:41 it spawns or like the dungeon. They they added different rooms

13:45 for the boss to spawn in. Yeah, because they changed the

13:49 dungeon. Yeah, yeah.

13:50 And there's different dungeon spawns, I guess, not just the

13:53 one that we have. Yeah, it's not just one now.

13:56 So they might have changed the room or like entirely, or they

13:59 might have added different rooms for it to spawn in or because it

14:02 was so low to hell yeah. It just kind of ran out of room.

14:07 But it was just really funny. Well.

14:11 You see this glowy thing I'm gonna do?

14:13 I'm gonna touch it. I was like, I don't remember how

14:16 the bus spawns and I'm like, I remember it being in a big room.

14:19 Do I have to open it up now? Yeah.

14:21 I, I in my fall. You feed in the the the cord has

14:26 spotted the bus. They flipped out and.

14:29 I'm sorry, but I got pissed off that night I got I don't

14:34 normally get that mad at games, but like I got frustrated

14:37 because they kept dying to traps traps.

14:41 I was trying not to yell at you guys because half the time I did

14:44 die from you when you guys pressing a button and the

14:46 fucking spike balls just tearing my asshole open.

14:50 That's that's the fun, isn't it? That we were, we were getting.

14:54 Fucked. My issue is we don't have

14:55 wormhole potions. I know.

14:57 I'm trying. We just need to fish and we

15:00 fish. I hate fishing and the the the

15:02 fishing guy's not fishing. The fishing guy needs to fish.

15:26 new weapons, you know, armor, because I'm a Summoner.

15:28 I have to focus solely on my own shit until I get that shit.

15:32 I'm like, all right, I'll just follow you guys and help.

15:34 Well let let let's explain a little bit more Scourge and then

15:37 get moving on. Oh fuck yeah, that's right.

15:39 Yeah, yeah. So Scourge again.

15:42 He's the first big wall. He is a worm boss, just like the

15:45 Destroyer. Oh God.

15:46 Or Eater of Worlds. Oh God.

15:50 I'm not going to say too much because I want you to see for

15:52 yourself, but I I think there's pretty much just a laser light

15:55 show. Yeah, like way more than

15:58 Destroyer. Was like like like it takes

16:00 Destroyer in terms that I put by another he's.

16:03 He's huge. I think he got bigger in an

16:06 update. He's supposed to be even bigger,

16:08 yeah. Me.

16:10 In a future update. Like I I think somebody took the

16:14 model, laid it out end over end and it takes up a considerable

16:18 portion of the map. Yes, this is a calamity.

16:23 Adds a lot of scale. It does notice.

16:27 It hasn't because Terraria is a lot of tiny pixels.

16:30 Yes. Calamity has a lot of tiny

16:33 pixels, but a lot of pixels. A lot of, A lot of.

16:37 Detail things are fucking huge. Yeah, things get massive in this

16:41 game. They.

16:41 Also have a lot of detail too. So yeah.

17:11 enjoy. And that was what were they, the

17:37 Calamity bosses that you hit the fight three in a row in order to

17:42 get past. Oh, oh, you know what I'm

17:45 talking about. Oh, the exos.

17:47 Yeah, the Exo bosses. That's right.

17:49 Yeah. So, so exo Aries, he's a big

17:54 motherfucker. He will attach to your screen

17:56 and he follows your player model and he's right at the top.

18:00 Like he is like cannons and everything.

18:01 Everything. He looks like this.

18:02 Yeah, it's cool as shit. That's horrifying.

18:05 It's. Actually really fun, I forgot

18:07 about. Aries Yeah, there's this is one

18:11 of the other Walls of Calamity mod.

18:14 There's three exo bosses. You can fight them one at a

18:17 time, and it's like, OK, cool. But in order to actually

18:21 progress to the next phase, you have to beat all three of them

18:25 at once. Is it all three of them months?

18:27 Or or. It's like you have to beat all

18:29 three of them in sequence. So back-to-back to back.

18:31 Yeah, like, like there's no breathing room.

18:34 Oh. Jesus.

18:35 Christ, I don't remember this, it's been a while.

18:37 Yeah, I remember. I believe we had to beat all of

18:40 them in the same night in order to actually progress.

18:43 Maybe that's what it. Was because after you beat all

18:45 three, there's a fourth boss that's.

18:48 I'd really I did this I I also forget about climbing it too.

18:52 Yeah, I, I, I remember we, I, I think there was a fourth boss

18:56 that spawned in who canonically is supposed to be like, I made

19:01 the EXO bosses and now you're gonna have to kill me.

19:03 That might have been Daedron. I can't.

19:05 Remember, I think that was Daedron, yeah.

19:07 But it's not as bad as I think yeah, it just it just takes to

19:10 get used to the tech better and just like it sounds horrible,

19:14 but it's it's just trust the process.

19:17 Yeah, trust the mechanics. It it, it's something more for

19:22 me at least, because it's like you don't think you have to boss

19:25 rush in the middle of the the the playthrough in order to keep

19:31 progressing. There is a bomb shush mode but.

19:33 That that's that's where end game, yeah, OK.

19:36 I see. Yeah, honestly, this time around

19:38 I do want to try it because there's a different

19:40 difficulties. I do want to try it in the

19:44 actual difficulty for it and that's Revengeance.

19:49 we're having Brandon and I'm on with us in this playthrough, I

19:52 think it's definitely doable. Yeah, anyway.

20:40 that still being a little too new, we're gonna skip that.

20:47 actually go play the game and whatever.

20:49 Just now thinking about that. So with an actual boss I can

20:54 talk about is the final boss in Doom Eternal.

20:59 OK, The Icon of Sin. Huge boss.

21:04 Yeah, fucking huge. It dwarfed the entire arena.

21:07 Yeah, it fucks. Yeah, it it literally screws

21:10 with the arena. So you have to continue moving,

21:13 but having to get, I think, to a higher plane because he.

21:17 He caused, I believe he caused the the platforms to catch on

21:20 fire. Yeah, yeah.

21:21 OK but what the damage you do to him you knock off?

21:25 I believe it was like his armor of some kind.

21:27 Yes, I'm remembering it correctly.

21:28 You'd knock off armor and flash like like armor pleading and

21:32 stuff. Oh.

21:33 OK, and he looks fucked up after.

21:36 You're done, Yeah. And we're and we're talking like

21:39 the icon of sin is the big boy. Yeah, you know.

21:46 He was what, the first boss of the series?

21:49 For a. Second game, yes.

21:51 Yeah, I was going to say the first boss of the second game,

21:54 that's the that's the fucking lady for the first.

21:58 Oh, for 2016. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

22:00 But the the icon of Sin, you first saw him or whatever it is

22:04 in A at the end of Doom 2, which funny enough, there's an Easter

22:12 egg with that boss. Wait, you boop?

22:15 His nose makes a little sound. No, apparently if you're able to

22:25 get behind the the like wall that the icon of SYN is in you

22:31 actually will find the severed head of John Romero which is the

22:38 I think. It's Co founder of ID Software I

22:42 think, but he worked on Doom. He's one of the big guys.

22:48 I worked on it and I believe when you shoot it, it screams.

22:53 That's funny. But with the the Icon of Sin in

22:59 this second Doom game, it's kind of weird how you have to damage

23:02 it because there's a platform you have to try to get on to

23:04 that goes up, but you don't want to go up too far because then

23:08 you're out of range of actually shooting.

23:10 I believe it's a rocket through like a hole on that on the head

23:13 of the Icon of Sin. It's fucking weird.

23:17 It's not an easy boss. Doesn't sound so.

23:20 But and you also have a bunch of fucking enemies on top of that.

23:23 Yeah, you have to kind of manage the boss and the word.

23:26 Doom 2 is known for having a lot of enemies at once, and it's can

23:31 be a lot harder than the first. Yeah.

23:34 But I've tried it compared to the first one there's.

23:36 It's not easy. 2016, I mean by the first one, yeah.

23:42 But it's a it's for Doom Eternal.

23:44 It was really cool to see the eye kind of sin again.

23:46 Yeah, it really was. And just for how it really shows

23:50 you the scale of this fucking demon.

23:54 Like I don't know if he's the ruler of all hell or some shit.

24:00 harbinger of just of chaos and destruction.

24:19 can take forever or it's not that fun?

24:31 mention to Doom 2016 with the Cyber Demon.

25:31 year to get into it because I've never, I was never really

25:34 exposed to Doom. And then Emma at the time was

25:39 like, hey, why don't you try getting into this game?

25:41 Believe you'd have a lot of fun with it.

25:42 And I was like, maybe, I don't know, I've got to focus on

25:45 school and work until I finally sat down with it and I was like,

25:49 this is actually really freaking fun.

28:31 you go to first. You start off on Earth and then

28:36 fucking human and Earth. It just has a bunch of plant

28:42 based enemies. Yeah, like they, they look like

28:44 plants. That's called called Root, I

28:47 believe. And as you play this game,

28:51 you're going to notice that a lot of bosses focus on ads.

28:58 So you're not just fighting the bosses, but now you're fighting

29:01 a bunch of enemies that are maybe like the boss or like like

29:04 specials or yeah, It's it's it's bad.

29:08 OK. There's very few bosses in this

29:10 game that either use ads for a good purpose or don't have ads

29:16 at all. That's like 2 the final boss and

29:18 the one I'm talking about. Yeah.

29:20 RIP hide you. He's actually a fairly uncommon

29:23 boss, but I've found it's really hard to find him.

29:26 You have to go to the subway. The subway does not spawn much.

29:30 And once you get to the subway, you fight all these enemies.

29:33 You get to this, you know, rundown area.

29:38 It's all rundown, but you get to this rundown area and you see

29:41 this guy. It's actually AI think it's a

29:43 variant of a special or just a basic enemy.

29:46 It has axes that it can throw and it can do a pulse on the

29:49 ground. So I think he slams the ground,

29:50 can't remember, but he pulses the ground, sends out a

29:52 shockwave. You have to roll and dodge.

29:55 His intro animation is him splitting in two and regrowing.

30:01 Yeah, he sucks. My God.

30:03 So, yeah, you see that? You're like, OK, all right, so

30:05 there's two buses, whatever, fine.

30:08 You get him down a quarter health, he splits again.

30:12 Oh no. There isn't 3, there's four

30:14 because they both split. Oh no fuck.

30:16 Oh no. You get them down to half

30:19 health. They all split again, so now

30:22 you're fighting 8. You get them down to, you get

30:25 them down to 75 health or you're 75% health 16.

30:32 throwing axes, and they're all individually slamming the

30:35 ground, and they all have their own movement as well.

31:25 too long, but it took us a while to get past his boss trying and

31:27 failing. And just as like at some point

31:30 you're fighting 16 individual bosses.

31:37 health bar. Yeah, they all do.

31:40 So no matter if you shoot, you know, the left one for 1/4 of

31:46 the first section and then you shoot the right one for the rest

31:48 of the remaining 1st 25%, they all still split.

31:52 So that's the good thing about it.

31:55 OK, I'll give it that. And yeah, you you have mods that

31:58 you might be able to shoot a grenade or fire or something,

32:01 deal damage that way, but other, otherwise you're just shooting

32:13 favorite boss. It's the most memorable boss

40:05 While doing this boss, you have to make sure you're collecting

40:06 rings to keep your ring count up because it's going down as oh.

40:16 But to you have to fly after Eggman and at at a certain point

40:21 you get up to him and you have to literally like kind of do a

40:27 circle around him while he's shooting missiles.

40:30 Yeah, as those missiles, they're locking on to you.

40:32 So you're basically hitting Eggman with them, OK.

40:36 You got a Pokémon Ranger of this.

40:37 Pretty much, yeah. It's it's honestly a really easy

40:42 fight, but it's just fun cuz the music is great.

40:45 It's like really upbeat and like you're like, right, I'm gonna

40:47 fuck you up Eggman, you know, like size had enough of your

40:51 shit. Yeah.

40:54 And I think after you, cuz the whole reason you're going after

40:57 Eggman is I think he has a Master Emerald.

40:59 Yeah. So you have to get that back in

41:01 order to get Angel Island off the ground.

43:33 There's a there's a handful of bosses in this game, not too

43:36 many, but the librarian this is so I'm going to previous this

43:45 little in tunic. You really don't have much to go

43:47 off of, but I believe on one of the pages you get because you're

43:52 building a a basically a physical handbook.

43:55 But in the game, like the old like how you have the physical

43:58 handbook that you can read and see they get hints from.

44:00 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you're basically building that in the

44:02 game. And one of them is like, oh, you

44:05 have to go deep into the forest top the highest pillar and I

44:11 think the in into the ground. Like that's like the the the

44:15 hints for the the bosses. And so I'm just strolling around

44:24 doing whatever. All of a sudden I'm in the

44:26 library. It's not showing the library and

44:28 he's not named until you find him.

44:31 And I walked right past him. I got the teleporter teleported

44:35 out. Whatever, I came back.

44:36 There's this there's a ladder that goes up.

44:40 I just go check that out. I go up it, the screen pans up,

44:45 going up, going up, going up, going up, going up, new area.

44:49 So now you're the newer ear loads, you're on the ladder.

44:52 So you go up, go up, go up, and then the platform gets smaller.

44:55 Climb up another ladder that goes up a little bit, and then

44:59 you're on top of something. Oh, hey, look the librarian

45:02 right there. Anyway, here's a boss fight.

45:05 OK, so you're on a pillar. The boss fight floats around the

45:09 stage. Oh.

45:10 OK. And he'll summon skulls or

45:12 whatever to come at you or range attacks there.

45:16 Eventually he'll do some sort of melee attack, whether he

45:20 cracked, he teleports and crashes on the ground, or he

45:23 just attacks you from range into melee range.

45:25 Oh, I can't remember, but there's a point where you can't

45:27 attack him. But it's just the fact that

45:30 there's something about, I'm going to call them stationary

45:34 bosses where either you're stationary or the bosses

45:37 stationary and you're fighting around them.

45:39 Something about those kind of bosses where you're you are

45:42 limited and you have to figure out how can I make use of this

45:46 tiny space I have. Some of those fights are just my

45:50 absolute favorites. Yeah.

45:53 And the librarian is no exception.

45:55 And he only gets harder with the less health he has.

45:57 Like, I think it's like 3 skulls at first or like 123.

46:01 And then they'll fly it like, you know, at the same time, at

46:04 the same interval that they were summoned.

46:06 Yeah. And then they'll be at 1234 and

46:09 then they'll fly 12345. They'll fly, but he can also no,

46:13 that's his range bolts, but then he also can summon enemies in on

46:17 the pillar for you to kill. Otherwise you're taking damage.

46:21 He's great. He's a great boss.

46:23 I love it. I love it.

46:25 That's awesome. Again, there's only 5 bosses in

46:28 this game, so it's it's it's the bosses are OK, but the librarian

46:34 is my favorite. Yeah, yeah.

47:08 trying to take over the entirety of what remains of Rapture.

47:16 like. Two people living there.

47:19 What do you mean the remnant? What do you mean taking over the

47:22 remnants? Just do it already.

47:23 I mean you have lots of drug addicts.

47:25 You could probably do like a land invasion using the drug

47:30 addicts. And you'll and you'll also learn

47:32 a lot. More the meth labs.

47:34 Yeah, you'll learn a lot more from like the tapes and all that

47:37 shit too. Yeah, there's a lot of people.

47:39 I think it's hinted that the main character is his son IF.

47:43 I remember correctly. Like Frank Fontaine is what's

47:49 his face, his son. No, like Frank Fontaine is the

47:52 character's father. Like biological father.

47:56 Yes, Yes, it is. Yes.

47:57 Yeah, essentially, you find out that you've been groomed into

48:03 being a sleeper agent, and throughout the entirety of the

48:08 campaign, you've been subtly manipulated into doing

48:13 everything in the game, like, like, like, play through the

48:17 game. It's really fantastic

48:20 storytelling. Yeah, but towards the end,

48:25 Fontaine takes this vial of Adam, which is a genetic, which

48:32 is a material that allows you to modify your genetics, and it

48:36 turns them from just a regular guy into what is essentially a

48:41 God. Yep.

48:42 Gotcha. And you're, you're thrown into

48:45 the very end where you're trying to take control of the city from

48:50 him and you had to put him down. And in order to do so, you have

48:55 to keep damaging him enough to where he's got to go back into

49:00 the centre machine to recharge himself.

49:03 Otherwise he's just going to go like, what was it like supernova

49:06 or something? Or was it just to kill him?

49:10 I think it was more just to like he, he wants to get more power

49:15 because he, like, he runs out of, I think he runs out of Adam.

49:19 Yeah. And he runs over to the machine

49:21 to try to recharge. Yeah, if I remember correctly,

49:24 every time that he does that, you can interact with him and

49:28 the Little Sisters start injecting into him and pulling

49:32 the atom out of him. So yes, damn well, So what you

49:36 do because one of the little sisters gives you one of their

49:39 things? One of their syringes.

49:41 And you do that? I think it's like 4 times, yeah.

49:45 I think or something and you're essentially like draining his

49:47 life force out of him. Yep.

49:50 Oh shit. Yeah, and it's just a really

49:55 solid clydmactic game to the air boss fight to the the the first

49:59 game. Yes.

51:31 and you're watching your layers go up, up, up, up, up, up, up,

51:37 then you're trying to get all the way back up to the surface

51:39 and he's like fucking shooting shit at you on this platform.

51:45 Jesus of the like bonanza thing or whatever, I forgot there's a

51:50 name for it. But when he attacks that

51:52 platform you're on, it disintegrates.

51:55 So now you're having to wait until it regions, but you have

51:59 to watch where you're standing 'cause, you know, but you get

52:04 through that and you think, OK, that's that's cool, you know?

52:09 Oh, no, look, we're in. Was it Donk Donk City?

52:13 Yeah. From Mario Odyssey, Yeah.

52:16 Yeah, New Donk City. Yeah, New Donk City and then,

52:48 to use the powers you have because you're going to need

52:51 them. You can't just be regular Donkey

52:53 Kong, it won't work. You're mostly playing as the

54:04 It's just figuring out how to stop him from engulfing the

54:29 Then I think what like quartered away of his health, then he

54:31 starts fucking like popping up and out from up and down from

54:35 like the arena, like underneath. Yeah, like.

54:45 It was definitely a kind of a learning curve.

59:09 because it's a it's a lead up to the final boss.

59:14 So in this game you are atomic bomb already happened and you

59:20 are a farmer. And then you have to pretty much

59:21 grow crops for the village That's that's left.

59:24 Yeah, Yeah. And you have three days for each

59:27 season. OK, so you start off in, I

59:30 believe, spring and you go all the way to winter.

59:32 And if you don't, I think if you don't get enough crops during

59:37 the season, I I think it's just more so about surviving because

59:45 there's enemies that come get your crops at the end of the

59:47 day, and then you have to beat all of them.

59:50 Then at the end of the season, there's a boss not caring about

59:53 that. So, you know, you go through

59:55 this game getting all these upgrades and whatnot and getting

59:57 seeds and, you know, spending roses or what, whatever have

1:00:01 you. And you you get different types

1:00:04 of seeds that may need more water, maybe less, may take more

1:00:07 time to grow, less time to whatever.

1:00:08 Yeah. And get to the final boss.

1:00:12 You've been collecting all these seeds and collecting all these

1:00:14 things for points and for upgrades.

1:00:17 OK, so the final boss name is Corpuscopia.

1:00:21 That's a mouthful, OK. Based off the cornucopia, what

1:00:25 it got. Is it full of corpses?

1:00:28 I mean, I can show you what it looks like, but so in order to

1:00:34 deal damage to this boss, cuz you can use you have guns.

1:00:37 Yep. And you can shoot enemies with

1:00:38 these guns. Yeah, you can't do that.

1:00:42 I don't know. You have to plant seeds, you

1:00:45 have to grow the crops, and then once the crops are grown you can

1:00:48 collect them and normally they go into your inventory when you

1:00:52 collect them. They fly at the boss, stealing

1:00:54 damage. Wow.

1:00:56 That's an interesting way to. So it turns the entire game on

1:01:00 its head. Interesting yes, it's really

1:01:04 fucking cool actually. And I I can't exactly tell you

1:01:08 if different if different plant types or whatever deal more

1:01:15 damage or less damage. Couldn't tell you, but yeah, you

1:01:18 know, it's the only time that I saw and beat it.

1:01:23 It was just cool as shit. Yeah, that's what it looks like,

1:01:25 by the way. It has like fruits, fries and

1:01:27 everything. Oh, Jesus.

1:01:28 Oh, that's pretty neat, yeah. This boss, this boss is pretty

1:01:30 big too. It'll fly around the whole

1:01:32 because Jesus Christ, because you have the center area and you

1:01:34 can use as much space as you want for this.

1:01:39 But then you have pretty much like the top area that's winter

1:01:42 or the bottom area that's like spring, whatever, left, right,

1:01:44 different, different seasons for different, you know, directions

1:01:46 you go in for different seeds as well.

1:01:49 But yeah, pretty much it's just the fact that it turns it on its

1:01:52 head and you have to use the crops to kill the final boss.

1:01:56 You can't just shoot it. It's awesome.

1:01:58 I love it. That's awesome.

1:02:01 It's unlike any other boss in the game.

1:02:08 OK, go for it. Yeah.

1:02:09 So this isn't a boss in the traditional sense, but I

1:02:12 consider it a boss because of the challenge it poses for the

1:02:17 player and because it is the final sequence of a playthrough.

1:02:22 This game. So believe it or not, survive.

1:02:29 Essentially, yes. Oh God the game is Frostpunk.

1:02:43 It stood out to me because of how much it it, it's kind of

1:02:47 like a boss mechanic. So how do you do a boss in the

1:02:52 resource management game, do you ask?

1:02:54 Well, part of the part of the problem with Frost Punk is that

1:02:59 you have to manage the temperature of the city to make

1:03:03 sure it's a survivable temperature.

1:03:05 Some people don't get sick and die.

1:03:08 But if the core goes down, if it runs out of fuel, that's game

1:03:13 over. Oh, the final sequence of the

1:03:17 game is you find out there's a massive winter storm coming.

1:03:24 OK. And it plummets the temperature

1:03:29 like I'm not, I'm not kidding, like like it plummets.

1:03:34 You see, the temperature in the game I think drop to about

1:03:39 -70°C. Jesus.

1:03:43 Fuck. Yeah, to the point where even

1:03:47 with your with your central furnace on full blast, you can

1:03:51 no longer collect resources within the city.

1:03:56 Oh my. Gosh, everybody has to shelter

1:03:58 in place and this is it. You have to survive.

1:04:03 I think it, I think it was like a week or two weeks in game time

1:04:10 on just full brutal. To survive two weeks?

1:04:13 Yeah, Real time. Oh God.

1:04:16 Real time. Yeah, like, like, like the game

1:04:19 lets you know this is the final sequence because leading up to

1:04:23 it, you start seeing areas of the world map disappear as a

1:04:29 giant storm approaches, Like, to the point where you have to

1:04:33 recall your citizens back if you have them, like, honey out in

1:04:38 the Wilds for food because it's too dangerous.

1:04:42 They have to come back to the city.

1:04:44 Fuck. And you're just, you're you used

1:04:47 to have a whole world map where you can be like, OK, I can send

1:04:51 parties out to go get some supplies.

1:04:53 No, that's completely gone. You are completely turtled with

1:04:57 what you have left. And your objective is the city

1:05:01 must survive. It doesn't matter how many

1:05:04 civilians die, how much of your own rest of the city freezes.

1:05:10 You keep the furnace going as long as possible.

1:05:13 Because if the furnace goes, that's it.

1:05:17 You can no longer get any more coal, you can't get any more

1:05:20 wood, you can't get any more metal.

1:05:23 If you have the resources to produce food within the city,

1:05:26 that's it. You can't go out and get any

1:05:28 more food from outside. Price.

1:05:32 Just an interesting way of considering a boss mechanic.

1:05:36 I would have never thought for a resource management game you

1:05:39 would have it have something like that.

1:05:42 It's sort of like a final sequence to the playthrough, but

1:05:47 just it's freaking awesome to think about.
